In this paper, we theoretically prove the existence of periodic solutions for a nonautonomous discrete-time neural networks by using the topological degree theory. Sufficient conditions are also obtained for the existence of an asymptotically stable periodic solution. As a special case, we obtain the existence of a fixed point to the corresponding autonomous discrete-time neural networks which corrects the error in [W.R. Zhao, W. Lin, R.S. Liu, J. Ruan, Asymptotical stability in discrete-time neural networks, IEEE Trans. Circuits Syst. I 49 (2002) 1516–1520]. Numerical simulations are given at the end of the paper.  相似文献

We consider null boundary controllability for one-dimensional semilinear heat equations. We obtain null boundary controllability results for semilinear equations when the initial data is bounded continuous and sufficiently small. In this work we also prove a version of the nonlinear Cauchy-Kowalevski theorem.W. Littman was partially supported by NSF Grant DMS 90-02919. The results of this paper were presented by Yung-Jen Lin Guo at the P.D.E. seminar at the University of Minnesota on January 27, 1993 and by W. Recently, Andrews proved two conjectures of Beck related to ranks of partitions. Very recently, Chern established some results on weighted rank and crank moments and proved many Andrews-Beck type congruences. Motivated by Andrews and Chern's work, Lin, Peng and Toh proved a number of Andrews-Beck type congruences for k-colored partitions. At the end of their paper, Lin, Peng and Toh posed several conjectures on Andrews-Beck type congruences. In this paper, we confirm one of those conjectures based on some q-series identities.  相似文献

In this article, the authors construct some counterexamples to show that the generalized Carleson measure space and the Triebel–Lizorkin-type space are not equivalent for certain parameters, which was claimed to be true in Lin and Wang [C.-C. Lin and K.Wang, Equivalency between the generalized Carleson measure spaces and Triebel–Lizorkin-type spaces, Taiwanese J. Math. 15 (2011), pp. 919–926]. Moreover, the authors show that for some special parameters, the generalized Carleson measure space, the Triebel–Lizorkin-type space and the Besov-type space coincide with certain Triebel–Lizorkin space, which answers a question posed in Remark 6.11(i) of Yuan et al. [W. Yuan, W. Sickel and D. Yang, Morrey and Campanato Meet Besov, Lizorkin and Triebel, Lecture Notes in Mathematics 2005, Springer-Verlag, Berlin, 2010]. In conclusion, the Triebel–Lizorkin-type space and the Besov-type space become the classical Besov spaces, when the fourth parameter is sufficiently large.  相似文献

In a recently published paper by Chiu et al. [Chiu, S.W., Wang, S.-L., Chiu, Y.-S.P., 2007. Determining the optimal run time for EPQ model with scrap, rework and stochastic breakdowns. European Journal of Operational Research 180, 664–676], a theorem on conditional convexity of the integrated total cost function was employed in their solution procedure. We reexamine this theorem and present a direct proof to the convexity of the total cost function. This proof can be used in place of Theorem 1 of Chiu et al.’s paper to enhance quality of their optimization process.  相似文献

This paper presents a new, interactive multi-objective linear-programming procedure to aid decision-makers in setting up goals for desired outputs. The procedure relies on empirical production functions generated by the use of data envelopment analysis. It presents the decision-maker with a set of alternative efficient points in order either to compare different sets of inputs in terms of their effectiveness for goal achievement, or to set goals against which future management performance may be measured. With each iteration the new information provided by the decision-maker is used to adjust the procedure, leading to points which have greater effectiveness utility for the decision-maker. A numerical example is provided along with guidelines for future applications.  相似文献

This paper determines the existence of a unique local solution for the 3D generalized magnetohydrodynamics equations. In order to be more precise, our solution is obtained by involving Lei–Lin–Gevrey spaces as well as Lei–Lin spaces. Furthermore, we present five new blow-up criteria for this same system when the maximal time of existence is finite. It is important to point out that one of these criteria is obtained by assuming fractional Laplacians with equal powers.  相似文献

This paper investigates two different local search approaches for the TSP. Both approaches are based on the general concept of single-alternating cycle neighborhoods. The first approach, stems from the famous heuristic suggested by Lin and Kernighan and the second is based on the notion of stem-and-cycles developed by Glover in the early nineties. We show that the corresponding neighborhoods are not identical and that only a subset of moves can be found when Lin & Kernighan’s gain criterion is applied.  相似文献

This paper discusses efficient estimation for the additive hazards regression model when only bi- variate current status data are available.Current status data occur in many fields including demographical studies and tumorigenicity experiments (Keiding,1991;Sun,2006) and several approaches have been proposed for the additive hazards model with univariate current status data (Lin et al.,1998;Martinussen and Scheike,2002).For bivariate data,in addition to facing the same problems as those with univariate data,one needs to deal with the association or correlation between two related failure time variables of interest.For this,we employ the copula model and an efficient estimation procedure is developed for inference.Simulation studies are performed to evaluate the proposed estimates and suggest that the approach works well in practical situations.An illustrative example is provided.  相似文献

In this paper, applying the Nevanlinna theory of meromorphic function in one angular domain, we deal with a problem of uniqueness for meromorphic functions and their derivatives sharing three finite value ignoring multiplicities in an angular domain instead of the whole complex plane. In this paper, we discuss the uniqueness of meromorphic functions concerning fixed points. In view of the fixed points, we extend a recent conclusion due to Zhang and Lin. A diffusive predator–prey system with modified Holling–Tanner functional response and no-flux boundary condition is considered in this work. A sufficient condition which ensures persistence of the system is obtained. Furthermore, sufficient conditions for the global asymptotical stability of the unique positive equilibrium of the system are derived by using a comparison method. It is shown that our result supplements and complements one of the main results of Shi et al. [H.B. Shi, W.T. Li, G. Lin, Positive steady states of a diffusive predator–prey system with modified Holling–Tanner functional response, Nonlinear Analysis: Real World Applications 11 (2010) 3711–3721].  相似文献

This paper investigates the time-dependent Stokes flow of a viscous fluid in a channel with nonzero net entry flow. Assuming the fluid to be initially at rest with entry flow at the finite end of a semi-infinite channel, energy bounds for the flow are derived. It is shown that the flow decays exponentially in energy norm to a transient Poiseuille flow as the distance from the finite end tends to infinity. The problem was previously investigated by Lin (SAACM 2 (1992) 249-264) for the case in which the net entry flow was zero. Our methods are patterned after those of Lin, but a somewhat better choice of arbitrary constants yields an improved decay rate for Lin's problem.  相似文献

A new version of strong limit theorems for Lin ratios (1976) free of former restrictions such as the absolute continuity of the measures in question or the conservativeness of the corresponding operators is presented. As the most original statement of the paper (Theorem 5) states, one of the two basic Lin conditions holds automatically for a wide class of Markov chains and, in particular, for many random walks on groups. The proof is based on a substantial development of the author's results (1980) concerning the behavior of multistep transition probabilities.  相似文献

Using the notion of weighted sharing of sets we prove two uniqueness theorems which improve the results proved by Fang and Qiu [H. Qiu, M. Fang, A unicity theorem for meromorphic functions, Bull. Malaysian Math. Sci. Soc. 25 (2002) 31-38], Lahiri and Banerjee [I. Lahiri, A. Banerjee, Uniqueness of meromorphic functions with deficient poles, Kyungpook Math. J. 44 (2004) 575-584] and Yi and Lin [H.X. Yi, W.C. Lin, Uniqueness theorems concerning a question of Gross, Proc. Japan Acad. Ser. We develop k-interchange procedures to perform local search in a precedence-constrained routing problem. The problem in question is known in the Transportation literature as the single vehicle many-to-many Dial-A-Ride Problem, or DARP. The DARP is the problem of minimizing the length of the tour traveled by a vehicle to service N customers, each of whom wishes to go from a distinct origin to a distinct destination. The vehicle departs from a specified point and returns to that point upon service of all customers. Precedence constraints in the DARP exist because the origin of each customer must precede his/her destination on the route. As in the interchange procedure of Lin for the Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP), a k-interchange is a substitution of k of the links of an initial feasible DARP tour with k other links, and a DARP tour is k-optimal if it is impossible to obtain a shorter tour by replacing any k of its links by k other links. However, in contrast to the TSP where each individual interchange takes O(1) time, checking whether each individual DARP interchange satisfies the origin-destination precedence constraints normally requires O(N2) time. In this paper we develop a method which still finds the best k-interchange that can be produced from an initial feasible DARP tour in O(Nk) time, the same order of magnitude as in the Lin heuristic for the TSP. This method is then embedded in a breadth-first or a depth-first search procedure to produce a k-optimal DARP tour. The paper focuses on the k = 2 and k = 3 cases. Experience with the procedures is presented. in which k-optimal tours are produced by applying a 2-opt or 3-opt search to initial DARP tours produced either randomly or by a fast O(N2) heuristic. The breadth-first and depth-first search modes are compared. The heuristics are seen to produce very good or near-optimal DARP tours.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce the notion of (Benson) proper subgradient of a set-valued map and prove that, for some class of nonconvex set-valued maps, a proper subgradient of the sum of two set-valued maps can be expressed as the sum of two proper subgradients of these maps. This property is also established for weak subgradients. A result in Ref. [Lin, L.J.: J. Math. Anal. Appl. 186, 30–51 (1994)], obtained under some convexity assumption, is included as a special case of the corresponding result of this paper.
