A solution method for stress concentration problems of fibre- and textile-reinforced multilayered composites with account of the influence of a circular or elliptical cut-out and of the finite outer boundary of a composite plate is presented. The method is based on complex-valued displacement functions and conformal mappings in combination with the boundary collocation and least squares methods. This allows a layer-by-layer calculation of full stress, strain, and displacement fields in a generally multilayered anisotropic plate. To verify the calculation model, extensive experimental studies have been carried out. For all the combinations of multilayered GF/PP plates, laminate lay-ups, and notch and specimen dimensions investigated so far, a very good agreement between the analytical calculations and experimental results is found to exist.  相似文献

Based on the Von Karman plate theory, considering the effect of transverse shear deformation, and using the method of the dissociated three regions, the postbuckling governing equations for the axisymmetric laminated circular plates with elliptical delamination are derived. By using the orthogonal point collocation method, the governing equations, boundary conditions and continuity conditions are transformed into a group of nonlinear algebraically equation and the equations are solved with the alternative method. In the numerical examples, the effects of various elliptical in shape, delamination depth and different material properties on buckling and postbuckling of the laminated circular plates are discussed and the numerical results are compared with available data.  相似文献

An investigation is made on interlaminar delamination growth of composite laminated circular plates under in-plane loads and movable delamination boundary conditions. A four-dissociated-region model is developed on the basis of von-Karman plate theory. The model is geometrically nonlinear and the laminated circular plate considered is subjected to axisymmetrical delamination. The effects of transverse shear deformation and contact effect of the delamination on the laminated plates are taking into account in the development of the governing equations of the laminated circular pates with random axisymmetrical delamination. The formulas for describing the total energy release rate and its individual mode components along the delamination front are also derived with considerations of Griffith criterion for fracture. Based on the model established, the delamination growth is numerically studied; and the influences of the parameters such as delamination radii and depths, together with material properties of the plates on the energy release rate are analyzed in detail.  相似文献

On the basis of the Timoshenko kinematic hypothesis for shells we give a formulation of the problem of studying the stress-strain state of orthotropic plates and shells weakened by a combined stress concentrator (a hole with two symmetric cracks extending to its edge). We propose a method of solving such problems on the basis of the finite-element method. To simulate the singularity of the stresses and displacements in a neighborhood of the tip of a crack we apply special finite elements with degenerate faces and nodes displaced by 1/4 the length of an edge. The stress intensity factors are found in terms of the displacements of the nodes of such elements. We give the results of computation of the concentration coefficients and the stress intensity factors for spherical and cylindrical shells loaded by internal pressure and for a cylindrical shell and a plate under the action of a distending load with various concentrators: a circular hole, an isolated crack, and a combined concentrator. Electrostrictive stresses near crack-like flaws   总被引:7,自引:0,他引:7  
Slit cracks in purely dielectric material systems do not perturb any applied uniform electric field. Furthermore, when the dielectric is unconstrained and does not support any conducting plates or mechanical loads, there are no additional mechanical stresses generated in the material upon introduction of the crack. This situation applies to both electrostrictive and piezoelectric materials. However, flaws which have finite thickness such as thin elliptical or ellipsoidal voids will cause severe inhomogeneous concentration of the electric field. In turn, this can generate substantial mechanical stress from electrostrictive or piezoelectric sources. The effect of an elliptical through flaw in an infinite isotropic body is considered. It is found that, in the case of thin ellipses, the near flaw tip mechanical stresses approximate the singular stresses near a slit crack with an equivalent stress intensity factor. In that sense, the flaw may be considered as a slit crack and treated in terms of linear elastic fracture mechanics. However, except for impermeable and conducting flaws, the value of the equivalent stress intensity factor depends on the aspect ratio of the flaw. As the aspect ratio of the flaw diminishes, the magnitude of the equivalent stress intensity factor falls and disappears in the limit of a slit crack. The results are used to show that a flaw-like crack in a material with a very high dielectric constant can be treated by fracture mechanics as an impermeable slit crack when the flaw aspect ratio is an order of magnitude greater than the ratio of dielectric permittivities (flaw value divided by the value for the surrounding material).  相似文献

This paper deals with the thermal buckling analysis of point-supported thin laminated composite plates. The analysis is performed for rhombic and rectangular plates and two cases of bilateral and unilateral buckling. In the unilateral buckling, it is assumed that the plate is in contact with a rigid surface and lateral deflection is forced to be only in one direction. The element-free Galerkin (EFG) method is employed to discretize equilibrium equations. Point supports are modeled in the form of distinct restrained circular surfaces through developing a numerical procedure based on the Lagrange multiplier technique. The unilateral behavior of the plate is incorporated in the analysis by using the penalty method and the Heaviside contact function. The final system of nonlinear algebraic equations is solved iteratively. Two types of point support arrangements are considered and the effect of different parameters such as number of point supports, plate aspect ratio and lamination scheme on the buckling coefficient of composite plates is investigated.  相似文献

This paper examines the problem of the stress concentration at a flaw in a unidirectional fibre reinforced composite. The geometry of the flaw corresponds to a spheroidal region in which the reinforcing fibres exhibit continuity across the flaw surface. The composite containing the flaw is subjected to a uniaxial stress field which acts along the fibre direction. An exact solution is devoloped for the stress concentration factor at the reinforced flaw boundary. Typical numerical results presented in the paper illustrate the manner in which the stress concentration at the bridged flaw is influenced by the fibre volume fraction, the fibre-matrix modular ratio and the flaw geometry.  相似文献

An uncoupled dynamic thermoelastic problem for laminated composite plates has been considered. The hypotheses used take into account the nonlinear distribution of temperature and displacements over the thickness of a laminated plate. On the basis of these hypotheses a quasi-three-dimensional (layerwise) theory is constructed that makes it possible to investigate the internal thermal and stress-strain states, as well as the edge effects of the boundary layer type for laminated plates. Systems of the heat conduction and motion equations are derived using the variational method. The order of the equations depends on the number of layers and terms in expansions of temperature and displacements of each layer. An analytical solution of the dynamic thermoelastic problem is presented for a cross-ply laminated rectangular plate with simply supported edges. The reliability of the results is confirmed by a comparison with the known exact solutions. The results based on the proposed theory can be used for verifying various two-dimensional plate theories when solving the dynamic thermoelastic problems for laminated composite plates.  相似文献

常用的对称迭层板为各向异性板.根据平面应力问题的基本方程精确地用应力函数解法求得了各向异性板的一般解析解.推导出平面内应力和位移的一般公式,其中积分常数由边界条件来决定.一般解包括三角函数和双曲函数组成的解,它能满足4个边为任意边界条件的问题.还有代数多项式解,它能满足4个角的边界条件.因此一般解可用以求解任意边界条件下的平面应力问题.以4边承受均匀法向和切向载荷以及非均匀法向载荷的对称迭层方板为例,进行了计算和分析.  相似文献

在宏-细观力学模型框架下,讨论湿热环境对复合材料层合圆柱薄壳在轴向压缩作用下屈曲和后屈曲行为的影响。基于细观力学模型复合材料性能与湿度和温度变化有关。壳体控制方程基于经典层合壳理论,并包括湿热效应。壳体屈曲的边界层理论被推广用于湿热环境的情况,相应的奇异摄动法用于确定层合圆柱薄壳的屈曲荷载和后屈曲平衡路径。分析中同时计及壳体非线性前屈曲变形和初始几何缺陷的影响。数值算例给出完善和非完善正交铺设层合圆柱薄壳在不同湿热环境中的后屈曲行为。讨论了温度和湿度,纤维体积比率,壳体几何参数,铺层数,铺层方式和初始几何缺陷等各种参数变化的影响。  相似文献

Generalized complex variables are used to study the character of the stresses in the neighborhood of corner points on the boundary of orthotropic plates in a two-dimensional stressed state. In the case of the first and second main problems, a singularity in the stresses is found to develop for angles with apertures exceeding π, and for the mixed problem, the appearance of a singularity depends on the plate material, as well as on the angular aperture. Using a three-dimensional layerwise-finite element method, the free vibration of thick laminated circular and annular plates supported on the elastic foundation is studied. The Pasternak-type formulation is employed to model the interaction between the plate and the elastic foundation. The discretized governing equations are derived using the Hamilton’s principle in conjunction with the layerwise theory in the thickness direction, the finite element (FE) in the radial direction and trigonometric function in the circumferential direction, respectively. The fast rate of convergence of the method is demonstrated and to verify its accuracy, comparison studies with the available solutions in the literature are performed. The effects of the geometrical parameters, the material properties and the elastic foundation parameters on the natural frequency parameters of the laminated thick circular and annular plates subjected to various boundary conditions are presented.  相似文献

In this work, a transverse bending of shear deformable laminated composite plates in Green–Lagrange sense accounting for the transverse shear and large rotations are presented. Governing equations are developed in the framework of higher order shear deformation theory. All higher order terms arising from nonlinear strain–displacement relations are included in the formulation. The present plate theory satisfies zero transverse shear strains conditions at the top and bottom surfaces of the plate in von-Karman sense. A C0 isoparametric finite element is developed for the present nonlinear model. Numerical results for the laminated composite plates of orthotropic materials with different system parameters and boundary conditions are found out. The results are also compared with those available in the literature. Some new results with different parameters are also presented.  相似文献

The paper deals with Chebyshev series based analytical solution for the nonlinear flexural response of the elastically supported moderately thick laminated composite rectangular plates subjected to hygro-thermo-mechanical loading. The mathematical formulation is based on higher order shear deformation theory (HSDT) and von-Karman nonlinear kinematics. The elastic foundation is modeled as shear deformable with cubic nonlinearity. The elastic and hygrothermal properties of the fiber reinforced composite material are considered to be dependent on temperature and moisture concentration and have been evaluated utilizing micromechanics model. The quadratic extrapolation technique is used for linearization and fast converging finite double Chebyshev series is used for spatial discretization of the governing nonlinear equations of equilibrium. The effects of Winkler and Pasternak foundation parameters, temperature and moisture concentration on nonlinear flexural response of the laminated composite rectangular plate with different lamination scheme and boundary conditions are presented.  相似文献

In this paper, effect of random variation in system properties on bending response of geometrically linear laminated composite plates subjected to transverse uniform lateral pressure and thermal loading is examined. System parameters such as the lamina material properties, expansion of thermal coefficients, lamina plate thickness and lateral load are modeled as basic random variables. The basic formulation is based on higher order shear deformation theory to model the system behavior of the composite plate. A C0 finite element method in conjunction with the first order perturbation technique procedure developed earlier by authors for the plate subjected to lateral loading is employed to obtain the second order response statistics (mean and variance) of the transverse deflection of the plate. Typical numerical results for the second order statistics of the transverse central deflection of geometrically linear composite plates with temperature independent and dependent material properties subjected to uniform temperature and combination of uniform and linearly varying temperature distribution are obtained for various combinations of geometric parameters, uniform lateral pressures, staking sequences and boundary conditions. The performance of the stochastic laminated composite model is demonstrated through comparison of mean transverse central deflection with those results available in literature and standard deviation of the deflection with an independent Monte Carlo simulation.  相似文献

A new formulation of the scaled boundary finite element method (SBFEM) is presented for the analysis of circular plates in the framework of Kirchhoff's plate theory. Essential for the SBFEM is, that a domain is described by the mapping of its boundary with respect to a scaling centre. The governing partial differential equations are transformed into scaled boundary coordinates and are reduced to a set of ordinary differential equations, which can be solved in a closed-form analytical manner. If the scaling centre is selected at the root of an existent crack or notch, the SBFEM enables the effective and precise calculation of singularity orders of cracked and notched structures. The element stiffness matrices for bounded and unbounded media are derived. Numerical examples show the performance and efficiency of the method, applied to plate bending problems. 本文提出了一组复应力函数,采用边界配位方法对不同形状孔口(包括圆、椭圆、矩形及菱形孔口)的单边裂纹平板的应力强度因子进行了计算.计算结果表明,对长度和宽度远大于孔口和裂纹几何尺寸的试件,配位法与用其他方法所得的无限大板含圆或椭圆孔边裂纹问题的解符合得很好.同时,对其他孔口问题,特别是有限大板情形,本文给出了一系列计算结果.本文所提出的函数及计算过程可以应用于任意形状孔口单边裂纹平板的计算.  相似文献
