An oscillation criterion is given for a certain form of nonlinear two-dimensional differential systems. This criterion originated in a well-known oscillation result due to Coles (as extended and improved by Wong) concerning second order nonlinear differential equations with alternating coefficients.

In this paper, the differential transform is employed to discuss the behaviors of nonlinear heat conduction problem. A hybrid method of differential transform and finite difference approach is proposed to solve the transient responses of a nonlinear heat conduction problem. Different parameters of the equation and boundary conditions are considered to verify the feasibility of the proposed method to such problems. Simulation results are illustrated and discussed in comparison with the linear case. The results show that the hybrid method can achieve good results for such problems.  相似文献

A new algorithm for calculating the two-dimensional differential transform of nonlinear functions is developed in this paper. This new technique is illustrated by studying suitable forms of nonlinearity. Three strongly nonlinear partial differential equations are then solved by differential transform method to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the proposed algorithm. The present framework offers a computationally easier approach to compute the transformed function for all forms of nonlinearity. This gives the technique much wider applicability.  相似文献

For a noncooperative differential game, the value functions of the various players satisfy a system of Hamilton-Jacobi equations. In the present paper, we consider a class of infinite horizon games with nonlinear costs exponentially discounted in time. By the analysis of the value functions, we establish the existence of Nash equilibrium solutions in feedback form and provide results and counterexamples on their uniqueness and stability.  相似文献

In this paper, by means of monotone iterative technique, a necessary and sufficient condition of the existence of positive solution for a class of nonlinear singular differential system is established, the results of the existence and uniqueness of the positive solution and the iterative sequence of solution are given. In this article, a novel numerical method is proposed for nonlinear partial differential equations with space- and time-fractional derivatives. This method is based on the two-dimensional differential transform method (DTM) and generalized Taylor's formula. The fractional derivatives are considered in the Caputo sense. Several illustrative examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the present method. Results obtained using the scheme presented here agree well with the analytical solutions and the numerical results presented elsewhere. Results also show that the numerical scheme is very effective and convenient for solving nonlinear partial differential equations of fractional order.  相似文献

In this paper, a novel method called variational iteration method is proposed to solve nonlinear partial differential equations without linearization or small perturbations. In this method, a correction functional is constructed by a general Lagrange multiplier, which can be identified via variational theory. An analytical solution can be obtained from its trial-function with possible unknown constants, which can be identified by imposing the boundary conditions, by successively iteration.  相似文献

We investigate a large class of elliptic differential inclusions on non-compact complete Riemannian manifolds which involves the Laplace–Beltrami operator and a Hardy-type singular term. Depending on the behavior of the nonlinear term and on the curvature of the Riemannian manifold, we guarantee non-existence and existence/multiplicity of solutions for the studied differential inclusion. The proofs are based on nonsmooth variational analysis as well as isometric actions and fine eigenvalue properties on Riemannian manifolds. The results are also new in the smooth setting.  相似文献

In this paper, based on differential characteristic set theory and the associated algorithm (also called Wu?s method), an algorithmic method is presented to decide on the existence of a nontrivial non-classical symmetry of a given partial differential equation without solving the corresponding nonlinear determining system. The theory and algorithm give a partial answer for the open problem posed by P.A. Clarkson and E.L. Mansfield in [21] on non-classical symmetries of partial differential equations. As applications of our algorithm, non-classical symmetries and corresponding invariant solutions are found for several evolution equations.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose algorithms for computing differential Chow forms for ordinary prime differential ideals which are given by characteristic sets. The algorithms are based on an optimal bound for the order of a prime differential ideal in terms of a characteristic set under an arbitrary ranking, which shows the Jacobi bound conjecture holds in this case. Apart from the order bound, we also give a degree bound for the differential Chow form. In addition, for a prime differential ideal given by a characteristic set under an orderly ranking, a much simpler algorithm is given to compute its differential Chow form. The computational complexity of the algorithms is single exponential in terms of the Jacobi number, the maximal degree of the differential polynomials in a characteristic set, and the number of variables.  相似文献

In the development of their dynamic strategies, the marketing and operations functions within a firm have differing objectives, and conflict between the two functions is common. The strategic interdependence involving marketing and operations decisions is modeled as a noncooperative differential game. Demand is assumed to be a function of price and advertising goodwill, and marketing controls price and advertising to maximize its discounted stream of revenue net of advertising costs. Backlogging is allowed, and operations controls production to minimize its discounted stream of production and backlog costs. A feedback Nash equilibrium is derived for the game, which allows a solution of the system of differential equations for goodwill and backlog, and is analyzed to study the nature of the dynamic strategies for price, advertising, and production.  相似文献

This paper studies differential square zero extensions and differential modules of a commutative differential algebra R over a differential field F where the field of constants of F is algebraically closed and of characteristic 0. All elements of R and the differential R modules and algebras considered are assumed to satisfy linear homogeneous differential equations over F. In this paper we obtain an existence result for a measure differential equation with a nonlinear growth/decay term that may change the sign. This generalizes the model setting proposed by Piccoli and Rossi to applications in life sciences describing for example birth/death processes of individuals. The proof requires a modification of the approximating schemes introduced in the original paper of Piccoli and Rossi. The new scheme combines model discretization with an exponential solution of the nonlinear growth/decay term, and hence, preserves nonnegativity of the measure. Furthermore, we formulate a new analytic condition on the measure vector field, which substantially simplifies the previous proof of continuity of solutions with respect to initial data while simultaneously generalizing the former condition formulated by Piccoli and Rossi.  相似文献

The main aim of this paper is to contribute to the automatic calculations in differential geometry and its applications, with emphasis on the prolongation theory of Estabrook and Wahlquist, and the calculation of invariance groups of exterior differential systems. In this research paper, we examine a novel method called the Natural Decomposition Method (NDM). We use the NDM to obtain exact solutions for three different types of nonlinear ordinary differential equations (NLODEs). The NDM is based on the Natural transform method (NTM) and the Adomian decomposition method (ADM). By using the new method, we successfully handle some class of nonlinear ordinary differential equations in a simple and elegant way. The proposed method gives exact solutions in the form of a rapid convergence series. Hence, the Natural Decomposition Method (NDM) is an excellent mathematical tool for solving linear and nonlinear differential equation. One can conclude that the NDM is efficient and easy to use.  相似文献

For a partial differential field K, we show that the triviality of the first differential Galois cohomology of every linear differential algebraic group over K is equivalent to K being algebraically, Picard–Vessiot, and linearly differentially closed. This cohomological triviality condition is also known to be equivalent to the uniqueness up to an isomorphism of a Picard–Vessiot extension of a linear differential equation with parameters.  相似文献
