A common of finite-time heat transfer processes between high- and low-temperature sides with generalized radiative heat transfer law [q ∝ Δ(Tn)] is studied in this paper. In general, the minimization of entropy generation in heat transfer processes is taken as the optimization objective. A new physical quantity, entransy, has been identified as a basis for optimizing heat transfer processes in terms of the analogy between heat and electrical conduction recently. Heat transfer analyses show that the entransy of an object describes its heat transfer ability, as the electrical energy in a capacitor describes its charge transfer ability. Entransy dissipation occurs during heat transfer processes, as a measure of the heat transfer irreversibility with the dissipation related thermal resistance. Under the condition of fixed heat load, the optimal configurations of hot and cold fluid temperatures for minimizing entransy dissipation are derived by using optimal control theory. The condition corresponding to the minimum entransy dissipation strategy with Newtonian heat transfer law (n = 1) is that corresponding to a constant heat flux rate, while the condition corresponding to the minimum entransy dissipation strategy with the linear phenomenological heat transfer law (n = −1) is that corresponding to a constant ratio of hot to cold fluid temperatures. Numerical examples for special cases with Newtonian, linear phenomenological and radiative heat transfer law (n = 4) are provided, and the obtained results are also compared with the conventional strategies of constant heat flux rate and constant hot fluid (reservoir) temperature operations and optimal strategies for minimizing entropy generation. Moreover, the effects of heat load changes on the optimal hot and fluid temperature configurations are also analyzed.  相似文献

In this paper, temperature analysis of the complete process of moving induction heat treatment is performed using numerical methods. A non-linear and transient magneto-thermal coupled problem with a moving coil which is considered as moving heat source, is investigated by an efficient finite-element procedure. A vertical hollow circular cylinder is heated by the moving coil at a given velocity along it, and the heated parts then quenched by a moving water–air spray. The effects of natural convection with air on the both inner and outer surfaces of cylinder, and also radiation of outer surface of cylinder with ambient are taken into account. For quenching of work-piece, a specific kind of atomized spray cooling which utilizes a mixture of water and air with different mass fractions is used. This procedure includes moving boundary conditions, temperature-dependent properties, and change in magnetic permeability of specified alloy at the Curie temperature. Obtained numerical results have been verified by comparison with analytical solutions using Green’s function methods. Also, the effect of velocity, initial position of inductor and inner to outer radius ratio on temperature distribution are investigated.  相似文献

Perturbation methods depend on a small parameter which is difficult to be found for real-life nonlinear problems. To overcome this shortcoming, two new but powerful analytical methods are introduced to solve nonlinear heat transfer problems in this article; one is He's variational iteration method (VIM) and the other is the homotopy-perturbation method (HPM). The VIM is to construct correction functionals using general Lagrange multipliers identified optimally via the variational theory, and the initial approximations can be freely chosen with unknown constants. The HPM deforms a difficult problem into a simple problem which can be easily solved. Nonlinear convective–radiative cooling equation, nonlinear heat equation (porous media equation) and nonlinear heat equation with cubic nonlinearity are used as examples to illustrate the simple solution procedures. Comparison of the applied methods with exact solutions reveals that both methods are tremendously effective.  相似文献

The present work investigates the effects of disks contracting, rotation and heat transfer on the viscous fluid between heated contracting rotating disks. By introducing the Von Kármán type similarity transformations through which we reduced the highly nonlinear partial differential equation to a system of ordinary differential equations. This system of differential equations with appropriate boundary conditions is responsible for the flow behavior between large but finite coaxial rotating and heated disks. It is important to note that the lower disk is rotating with angular velocity Ω while the upper one with , the disks are also contracting and the temperatures of the upper and lower disks are T1 and T0, respectively. The agents which driven the flow are the contraction and also the rotation of the disks. On the other hand the velocity components and especially radial component of velocity strongly influence the temperature distribution inside the flow regime. The basic equations which govern the flow are the Navier Stokes equations with well known continuity equation for incompressible flow. The final system of ordinary differential equations is then solved numerically with given boundary conditions. In addition, the effect of physical parameters, the Reynolds number (Re), the wall contraction ratio (γ) and the rotation ratio (S) on the velocity and pressure gradient, as well as, the effect of Prandtl number (Pr) on temperature distribution are also observed.  相似文献

The mean and variance of the temperature are analytically obtained in a functionally graded annular disc with spatially random heat transfer coefficients (HTCs) on the upper and lower surfaces. This annular disc has arbitrary variations in the HTCs (i.e., arbitrary thermal interaction with the surroundings) and gradient material composition only along the radial direction and is subjected to deterministic axisymmetrical heating at the lateral surfaces. The stochastic temperature field is analysed by considering the annular disc to be multilayered with spatially constant material properties and spatially constant but random HTCs in each layer. A type of integral transform method and a perturbation method are employed in order to obtain the analytical solutions for the statistics. The correlation coefficients of the random HTCs are expressed in the form of a linear function with respect to the radial distance as a non-homogeneous random field of discrete space. Numerical calculations are performed for functionally graded annular discs composed of stainless steel and ceramic, which comprise two types of material composition distributions. The effects of the magnitude of the means of HTCs, volume fraction distributions of the constitutive materials and correlation strengths of the HTCs on the standard deviation of the temperature are discussed.  相似文献

In order to monitor the thermal status of a blast furnace stave, an intelligent simulation technique is developed. The intelligent simulation model is built using a combined model based on the mathematical model of heat transfer and the technique of artificial intelligence. The intelligent simulation model of blast furnace cast steel stave is based on correction factor of parameters obtained by training the samples of test data of the cast steel cooling stave. Simulating currently existing blast furnace stave situation which is only a monitoring point on the stave and the velocity and temperature of cooling water are difficult to real-time be detected, the experimental verification of the model is done. The results show that the data of intelligent simulation model is nearly consistent with that of experiment. The model of high accuracy can on-line predict the thermal status of blast furnace stave.  相似文献

An analysis is carried out to investigate the stagnation-point flow and heat transfer over an exponentially shrinking sheet. Using the boundary layer approximation and a similarity transformation in exponential form, the governing mathematical equations are transformed into coupled, nonlinear ordinary differential equations which are then solved numerically by a shooting method with fourth order Runge-Kutta integration scheme. The analysis reveals that a solution exists only when the velocity ratio parameter satisfies the inequality −1.487068 ? c/a. Also, the numerical calculations exhibit the existence of dual solutions for the velocity and the temperature fields; and it is observed that their boundary layers are thinner for the first solution (in comparison with the second). Moreover, the heat transfer from the sheet increases with an increase in c/a for the first solution, while the heat transfer decreases with increasing c/a for the second solution, and ultimately heat absorption occurs.  相似文献

The fully developed electrically conducting micropolar fluid flow and heat transfer along a semi-infinite vertical porous moving plate is studied including the effect of viscous heating and in the presence of a magnetic field applied transversely to the direction of the flow. The Darcy-Brinkman-Forchheimer model which includes the effects of boundary and inertia forces is employed. The differential equations governing the problem have been transformed by a similarity transformation into a system of non-dimensional differential equations which are solved numerically by element free Galerkin method. Profiles for velocity, microrotation and temperature are presented for a wide range of plate velocity, viscosity ratio, Darcy number, Forchhimer number, magnetic field parameter, heat absorption parameter and the micropolar parameter. The skin friction and Nusselt numbers at the plates are also shown graphically. The present problem has significant applications in chemical engineering, materials processing, solar porous wafer absorber systems and metallurgy.  相似文献

In this article, mathematical and numerical models are developed to study pure electrohydrodynamic (EHD) effects on heat transfer and bubble shapes when an initial bubble attached to a superheated horizontal wall in nucleate boiling. In the modelling of EHD effects on heat transfer, an undeformed bubble is considered; the electric body force and Joule heat are added to the momentum and energy equations; governing equations for heat, fluid flow and electric fields are coupled numerically and solved using a non-orthogonal body-fitted mesh system with necessary interfacial treatments at the gas–liquid boundary. While, to study the pure effect of EHD on the deformation of the bubble, the evaluation of a deformable bubble without heat transfer is simulated by volume of fluid (VOF) method based on an axial symmetric Cartesian coordinate system. The simulations indicate that EHD can effectively enhance heat transfer rate of nucleate boiling by influencing the motion of the ring vortex around the bubble and that bubble can be elongated due to the pull in axial direction and push in the negative radial direction by the electric field force.  相似文献

In this paper, an inverse geometric problem for the modified Helmholtz equation arising in heat conduction in a fin is considered. This problem which consists of determining an unknown inner boundary of an annular domain and possibly its surface heat transfer coefficient from one or two pairs of boundary Cauchy data (boundary temperature and heat flux) is solved numerically using the meshless method of fundamental solutions (MFS). A nonlinear unconstrained minimisation of the objective function is regularised when noise is added to the input boundary data. The stability of the numerical results is investigated for several test examples with respect to noise in the input data and various values of the regularisation parameters.  相似文献

To establish the human body model to analyze the heat and moisture transfer on body surface, a new explicit definition of rational L-recursion surface is given and the L-recursion surfaces, in Grassmann spaces, are constructed by using blossom method of the homogeneous normal pyramid form. Based on our human body model, the balance theory of garment simulation, the heat and moisture transfer balance equations, called ICAD-balance equations are obtained. The balance theory of garment simulation integrally studies the complex system of human body-fabric-environment. At the same time, the method of obtaining the heat and moisture transfer balance equations is also based on the mass conservation law, the energy conservation law and the Fish law of capillarity. A finite volume method is employed to solve the ICAD-balance equations.  相似文献

The present work investigates the effects of the disks contracting, rotation, heat transfer and different permeability on the viscous fluids and temperature distribution between two heated contracting rotating disks. Two cases are considered. For the first case, we neglect the viscous dissipation effects in the energy equation and reduce the Navier-Stokes equations and energy equation into nonlinear coupled ODEs by introducing the Von Kármán type similarity transformations. The effects of various physical parameters like expansion ratio, Prandtl number, Reynolds number and rotation ratio on the velocity and temperature are discussed in detail. The second and more general case is that we consider the viscous dissipation in the energy equation. Under this assumption, the energy equation is reduced to a ordinary differential equation including the Eckert number, whose solution also is solved by HAM.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the flow, heat and mass transfer of a viscous fluid flow over a stretching sheet by including the blowing effects of mass transfer under high flux conditions. Mass transfer in this work means species transfer and is different from mass transpiration for permeable walls. The new contribution from this work is, for the first time, to consider the coupled blowing effects from massive species transfer on flow, heat, and species transfer for a stretching plate. Based on the exact solutions of the momentum equations, which are valid for the whole Navier–Stokes equations, the energy and mass transfer equations are solved exactly and the effects of the blowing parameter, the Schmidt number, and the Prandtl number on the flow, heat and mass transfer are presented and discussed. The solution is given in terms of an incomplete Gamma function. It is found the coupled blowing effects due to mass transfer can have significant influences on velocity profiles, drag, heat flux, as well as temperature and concentration profiles. These solutions provide rare results with closed form analytical expressions and can be used as benchmark problem for numerical code validation.  相似文献

In order to verify the reasonableness of off-gas pressure and wall temperature, a mathematical model for gas flow and heat transfer in ladle furnace (LF) lid is developed based on 3-D Navier–Stokes equations and kε two equation turbulent models as well as energy conservation equation. The gas velocity vector distribution of skirt clearance between the top edge of ladle and furnace lid and electrode gaps between three graphite electrodes and furnace lid, the gas flow line distribution, pressure and temperature distribution on the furnace lid wall are simulated. Simulation results show that appropriate off-gas pressures are 200 Pa, 200 Pa and 150 Pa when electric arc emerges from molten steel surface and alloy hole is unsealed, electric arc emerges from molten steel surface and alloy hole is closure, electric arc immerges into molten steel surface and alloy hole is closure, respectively. The maximum temperature presents in the middle of LF lid in all of heating conditions, and the temperature value are 563, 603 and 343 K. Finally, the relations between gas volume and off-gas pressure are analyzed in different width of skirt clearance, and some relevant mathematical expressions are obtained. By comparing both simulation results and practical data, the advice on reducing off-gas pressure is proposed, and the maximum temperatures of furnace lid wall have good agreement with actual data.  相似文献

Two quasi-least-squares finite element schemes based on L 2 inner product are proposed to solve a steady Navier–Stokes equations, coupled to the energy equation by the Boussinesq approximation and augmented by a Coriolis forcing term to account for system rotation. The resulting nonlinear systems are linearized around a characteristic state, resulting in linearized least-squares models that yield algebraic systems with symmetric positive definite coefficient matrices. Existence of solutions are investigated and a priori error estimates are obtained. The performance of the formulation is illustrated by using a direct iteration procedure to treat the nonlinearities and shown theoretical convergent rate for general initial guess.  相似文献

The zonal analysis of industrial furnaces is considered with three-dimensional radiative heat transfer, incorporated with the mathematical zone method. In this method exchange areas are determined by simplified numerical integration in three dimensions for surface-surface, surface-gas and gas–gas zones for absorbing and emitting media. By focusing on new strategies to overcome the drawbacks of evaluating direct exchange areas, it is shown that the zone method is an effective numerical method for modeling three-dimensional thermal performance of gas-filled enclosures. Also the developed method for evaluating of exchange area is presented and compared with other methods in both sides of CPU time and accuracy. The method can decrease about 70% in error of calculation of some exchange areas as compared with the other numerical methods.  相似文献

This paper deals with the unsteady axisymmetric flow and heat transfer of a viscous fluid over a radially stretching sheet. The heat is prescribed at the surface. The modelled non-linear partial differential equations are solved using an analytic approach namely the homotopy analysis method. Unlike perturbation technique, this approach gives accurate analytic approximation uniformly valid for all dimensionless time. The explicit expressions for velocity, temperature and skin friction coefficient are developed. The influence of time on the velocity, temperature and skin friction coefficient is discussed.  相似文献

The steady laminar boundary layer flow over a permeable flat plate in a uniform free stream, with the bottom surface of the plate is heated by convection from a hot fluid is considered. Similarity solutions for the flow and thermal fields are possible if the mass transpiration rate at the surface and the convective heat transfer from the hot fluid on the lower surface of the plate vary like x−1/2, where x is the distance from the leading edge of the solid surface. The governing partial differential equations are first transformed into ordinary differential equations, before being solved numerically. The effects of the governing parameters on the flow and thermal fields are thoroughly examined and discussed.  相似文献

The unsteady magnetohydrodynamic flow of an electrically conducting viscous incompressible non-Newtonian Bingham fluid bounded by two parallel non-conducting porous plates is studied with heat transfer considering the Hall effect. An external uniform magnetic field is applied perpendicular to the plates and the fluid motion is subjected to a uniform suction and injection. The lower plate is stationary and the upper plate moves with a constant velocity and the two plates are kept at different but constant temperatures. Numerical solutions are obtained for the governing momentum and energy equations taking the Joule and viscous dissipations into consideration. The effect of the Hall term, the parameter describing the non-Newtonian behavior, and the velocity of suction and injection on both the velocity and temperature distributions are studied.  相似文献
