Particulate composites with composition (x)BaTiO3+(1−x)Ni0.92Co0.03Cu0.05Fe2O4 in which x varies as 1, 0.85, 0.70, 0.55 and 0 (in mol%) were prepared by the conventional double sintering ceramic technique. The presence of two phases viz. ferromagnetic (Ni0.92Co0.03Cu0.05Fe2O4) and ferroelectric (BaTiO3) was confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis. The dc resistivity and thermo-emf measurements were carried out with variation of temperature. The ac conductivity (σac) measurements investigated in the frequency range 100 Hz to 1 MHz conclude that the conduction in these composites is due to small polarons. The variation of dielectric constant and loss tangent with frequency (20 Hz to 1 MHz) was studied. The static magnetoelectric conversion factor, i.e. dc (dE/dH)H was measured as a function of intensity of applied magnetic field. The changes were observed in electrical properties as well as in magnetoelectric voltage coefficient as the molar ratio of the constituent phases was varied. A maximum value of magnetoelectric conversion factor of 536.06 μV/cm Oe was observed for the composite with 70% BaTiO3+30% Ni0.92Co0.03Cu0.05Fe2O4 at a dc magnetic field of 2.3 K Oe. The maximum magnetoelectric conversion output has been explained in terms of ferrite-ferroelectric content, applied static magnetic field and resistivity.  相似文献

Magnetoelectric (ME) nanocomposites containing Ni0.75Co0.25Fe2O4-BiFeO3 phases were prepared by citrate sol-gel process. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis showed phase formation of xNi0.75Co0.25Fe2O4-(1−x)BiFeO3 (x=0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4) composites on heating at 700 °C. Transmission electron microscopy revealed the formation of powders of nano order size and the crystal size was found to vary from 30 to 85 nm. Dispersion in dielectric constant (ε) and dielectric loss (tan δ) in the low-frequency range have been observed. It is seen that nanocomposites exhibit strong magnetic properties and a large ME effect. On increasing Ni0.75Co0.25Fe2O4 contents in the nanocomposites, the saturation magnetization (MS) and coercivity (HC) increased after annealing at 700 °C. The large ME output in the nanocomposites exhibits strong dependence on magnetic bias and magnetic field frequency. The large value of ME output can be attributed to small grain size of ferrite phase of nanocomposite being prepared by citrate precursor process.  相似文献

Crystal structure, thermogravimetry (TG), thermal expansion coefficient (TEC), electrical conductivity and AC impedance of (Ba0.5Sr0.5)1-xLaxCo0.8Fe0.2O3-δ (BSLCF; 0.05?x?0.20) were studied in relation to their potential use as intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cell (IT-SOFC) cathode. A single cubic pervoskite was observed by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The TEC of BSLCF was increasing slightly with the increasing content of La, and all the compounds showed abnormal expansion at high temperature. Proved by the TG result, it was associated with the loss of lattice oxygen. The electrical conductivity, which is the main defect of Ba0.5Sr0.5 Co0.8Fe0.2O3-δ (BSCF), was improved by La doping, e.g., the compound of x=0.20 demonstrated a conductivity of σ=376 S cm−1 at 392 °C. The increase of electrical conductivity resulted from the increased concentration of charge carrier induced by La doping. In addition, the AC impedance revealed the better electrochemical performance of BSLCF. For example, at 500 °C, the sample with composition x=0.15 yielded the resistance values of 2.12 Ω cm2, which was only 46% of BSCF.  相似文献

Magnetoelectric (ME) composites consisting of ferrite phase (x) Ni0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4+ferroelectric phase (1−x)Pb Zr0.8Ti0.2O3 (Lead Zirconate Titanate—PZT) in which x (mol%) varies between 0 and 1 (0.0≤x≤1.0) was synthesized by double sintering ceramic method. The presence of constituent phases of ferrite, ferroelectric and their composites was confirmed by X-ray diffraction studies. The hysteresis measurement was used to study magnetic properties such as saturation magnetization (MS) and magnetic moment (μB). The existence of single domain (SD) particle in the ferrite phase and mixed (SD+MD) particle in the composites was studied from AC susceptibility measurements. ME voltage coefficient for each mol% of ferrite phase was measured as a function of applied DC magnetic field and at the same time influence of magnetic field on ME response and resistivity of composites was studied. The maximum ME voltage coefficient of 0.84 mV/cm Oe was observed for 15% of ferrite phase and 85% of ferroelectric phase in the composites.  相似文献

Structural and morphological characteristics of (1−x)α-Fe2O3-xSnO2 (x=0.0-1.0) nanoparticles obtained under hydrothermal conditions have been investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission Mössbauer spectroscopy, scanning and transmission electron microscopy as well as energy dispersive X-ray analysis. On the basis of the Rietveld structure refinements of the XRD spectra at low tin concentrations, it was found that Sn4+ ions partially substitute for Fe3+ at the octahedral sites and also occupy the interstitial octahedral sites which are vacant in α-Fe2O3 corundum structure. A phase separation of α-Fe2O3 and SnO2 was observed for x≥0.4: the α-Fe2O3 structure containing tin decreases simultaneously with the increase of the SnO2 phase containing substitutional iron ions. The mean particle dimension decreases from 70 to 6 nm, as the molar fraction x increases up to x=1.0. The estimated solubility limits in the nanoparticle system (1−x)α-Fe2O3-xSnO2 synthesized under hydrothermal conditions are: x≤0.2 for Sn4+ in α-Fe2O3 and x≥0.7 for Fe3+ in SnO2.  相似文献

Magnetoelectric composites, namely, xNiFe2O4+(1−x)Ba0.9Sr0.1TiO3 were prepared by standard double sintering ceramic method. The X-ray diffraction analysis was carried out to check the phases formed during sintering and to calculate the lattice parameters. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) micrographs were taken to understand the microstructure of the samples. The dielectric constant (ε′) and loss tangent (tan δ) were measured as a function of frequency in the frequency range 100 Hz–1 MHz. Variation of dielectric constant and loss tangent with temperature and composition has been reported. The hysteresis measurements were done to determine saturation magnetization (MS) and coersivity (Hc). The variation of saturation magnetization and magnetic moment is interpreted in terms of composition.  相似文献

The xFe2TiO4-(1−x)Fe3O4 pseudo-binary systems (0≤x≤1) of ulvöspinel component were synthesized by solid-state reaction between ulvöspinel Fe2TiO4 precursors and commercial Fe3O4 powders in stochiometric proportions. Crystalline structures were determined by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and it was found that the as-obtained titanomagnetites maintain an inverse spinel structure. The lattice parameter a of synthesized titanomagnetite increases linearly with the increase in the ulvöspinel component. 57Fe room temperature Mössbauer spectra were employed to evaluate the magnetic properties and cation distribution. The hyperfine magnetic field is observed to decrease with increasing Fe2TiO4 component. The fraction of Fe2+ in both tetrahedral and octahedral sites increases with the increase in Ti4+ content, due to the substitution and reduction of Fe3+ by Ti4+ that maintains the charge balance in the spinel structure. For x in the range of 0 ≤x≤0.4, the solid solution is ferrimagnetic at room temperature. However, it shows weak ferrimagnetic and paramagnetic behavior for x in the range of 0.4<x≤0.7. When x>0.70, it only shows paramagnetic behavior, with the appearance of quadrupole doublets in the Mössbauer spectra. Simultaneous differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric analysis (DSC-TGA) studies showed that magnetite is not stable, and thermal decomposition of magnetite occurs with weight losses accompanying with exothermic processes under heat treatment in inert atmosphere.  相似文献

Thermoluminescence properties of barium strontium mixed sulfate have been studied by irradiation with Argon ions. The sample was recrystallized by chemical co-precipitation techniques using H2SO4. The X-ray diffraction study of prepared sample suggests the orthorhombic structure with average grain size of 60 nm. The samples were irradiated with 1.2 MeV Argon ions at fluences varying between 1011 and 1015 ions/cm2. The argon ions penetrate to the depth of 1.89 μm and lose their energy mainly via electronic stopping. Due to ion irradiation, a large number of defects in the sample are formed. Thermally stimulated luminescence (TSL) glow curves of ion irradiated Ba0.12Sr0.88SO4 phosphor exhibit broad peak with maximum intensity at 495 K composed of four overlapping peaks. This indicates that different sets of traps are being activated within the particular temperature range each with its own value of activation energy (E) and frequency factor (s). Thermoluminescence (TL) glow curves were recorded for each of the ion fluences. A linear increase in intensity of TL glow peaks was found with the increase in ion dose from 59 kGy to 5.9 MGy. The kinetic parameters associated with the prominent glow peaks were calculated using glow curve deconvolution (GCD), different glow curve shape and sample heating rate methods.  相似文献

The structure, transport and magnetic properties of (La0.8Sr0.2)1−xMnO3 (0≤x≤0.30) polycrystalline perovskite manganites have been investigated. For all the samples the Curie temperatures, Tc, remain nearly unchanged (329±3 K). Resistivity versus temperature curves for the samples show a double-peak behavior. A significant magnetoresistance (MR) effect and different temperature dependences of the MR ratios of the samples are observed. The shapes of the MR-T curves of the samples can be adjusted by changing x. For the x=0.30 sample, a nearly constant MR ratio of (9.5±0.5)% is obtained over the temperature range from 205 to 328 K.  相似文献

The solid solution behavior of the Ni(Fe1−nCrn)2O4 spinel binary is investigated in the temperature range 400-1200 °C. Non-ideal solution behavior, as exhibited by non-linear changes in lattice parameter with changes in n, is observed in a series of single-phase solids air-cooled from 1200 °C. Air-annealing for 1 year at 600 °C resulted in partial phase separation in a spinel binary having n=0.5. Spinel crystals grown from NiO, Fe2O3 and Cr2O3 reactants, mixed to give NiCrFeO4, by Ostwald ripening in a molten salt solvent, exhibited single-phase stability down to about 750 °C (the estimated consolute solution temperature, Tcs). A solvus exists below Tcs. The solvus becomes increasingly asymmetric at lower temperatures and extrapolates to n values of 0.2 and 0.7 at 300 °C. The extrapolated solvus is shown to be consistent with that predicted using a primitive regular solution model in which free energies of mixing are determined entirely from changes in configurational entropy at room temperature.  相似文献

Phases of the composition Ca1−xyMgxCu2+yO3 have been prepared for the first time. The compounds are isostructural with the known end-members CaCu2O3 and MgCu2O3 showing a two-leg spin-ladder-like connection of copper and oxygen atoms within the Cu2O3-layer. Opposite the spin ladders this layer is folded, which results in a long-range antiferromagnetic ordering of these phases. The Néel temperature can be adapted by variation of x in Ca1−xyMgxCu2+yO3 between 24 and 80 K. Several structural features, which influence the magnetic ordering, are discussed.  相似文献

The nanocrystalline Ni0.53Cu0.12Zn0.35Fe1.88O4 and BaTiO3 powders were prepared using Microwave-Hydrothermal (M-H) method at 160 °C/45 min. The as synthesized powders were characterized using the X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM). The size of the powders that were synthesized using M-H system was found to be ∼30 and ∼50 nm for ferrite phase and ferroelectric phases, respectively. The powders were densified using microwave sintering method at 900 °C/30 min. The ferrite and ferroelectric phases were observed from XRD and morphology of the composites was observed with the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM).The magnetic hysteresis loops were recorded using the Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM).The frequency dependence of real (μ′) and imaginary (μ″) parts of permeability was measured in the range of 1 MHz-1.8 GHz. The permeability decreases with an increase of BaTiO3 content at 1 MHz. The transition temperature (TC) of ferrite was found to be 245 °C. The TC of composite materials decreases with an increase in BaTiO3 content.  相似文献

Composite samples (1−x)La0.7Ca0.2Sr0.1MnO3(LCSMO)+x(ZnO) with different ZnO doping levels x have been investigated systematically. The structure and morphology of the composites have been studied by the X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electronic microscopy (SEM). The XRD and SEM results indicate that no reaction occurs between LCSMO and ZnO grains, and that ZnO segregates mostly at the grain boundaries of LCSMO. The magnetic properties reveal that the ferromagnetic order of LCSMO is weakened by addition of ZnO. The results also show that ZnO has a direct effect on the resistance of LCSMO/ZnO composites, especially on the low-temperature resistance. With increase of the ZnO doping level, TP shifts to a lower temperature and the resistance increases. It is interesting to note that an enhanced magnetoresisitance (MR) effect for the composites is found over a wide temperature range from low temperature to room temperature in an applied magnetic field of 3 kOe. The maximum MR appears at x=0.1. The low field magnetoresistance (LFMR) results from spin-polarized tunneling. However, around room temperature, the enhanced MR of the composites is caused by magnetic disorder.  相似文献

Thin films of Ba0.8Sr0.2TiO3 have been deposited on p-type Si substrate by radio frequency magnetron sputtering. Polycrystalline bulk Ba0.8Sr0.2TiO3 sample has also been studied for comparison. X-ray diffraction patterns reveal that both the bulk sample and thin films are polycrystalline without any preferential orientation and belong to paraelectric cubic phase. We have compared the room temperature Raman and IR spectra of powder and thin films (both annealed and as-deposited) of Ba0.8Sr0.2TiO3. The extra feature in the Raman spectrum for the annealed film has been explained as due to the presence of intergrain stresses from the submicron size grains in it.  相似文献

Layered SrBi2(Nb1−xVx)2O9−δ (SBVN) ceramics with x lying in the range 0-0.3 (30 mol%) were fabricated by the conventional sintering technique. The microstructural studies confirmed the truncating effect of V2O5 on the abnormal platy growth of SBN grains. The electrical conductivity studies were centred in the 573-823 K as the Curie temperature lies in this range. The concentration of mobile charge carriers (n), the diffusion constant (D0) and the mean free path (a) were calculated by using Rice and Roth formalism. The conductivity parameters such as ion-hopping rate (ωp) and the charge carrier concentration (K′) term have been calculated using Almond and West formalism. The aforementioned microscopic parameters were found to be V2O5 content dependent on SrBi2(Nb1−xVx)2O9−δ ceramics.  相似文献

The samples with the Mn3+/Mn4+ ratio fixed at 2:1 La(2+x)/3Sr(1−x)/3Mn1−xCrxO3 (0≤x≤0.20) have been prepared. The magnetic, electrical transport, and magnetoresistance properties have been investigated. Remarkable transport and colossal magnetoresistance (CMR) effect, as well as cluster glass (CG) behaviors have been clearly observed in the samples studied. It was found that the Curie temperature Tc and insulator−metal transition temperature Tp1 are strongly affected by Cr substitution. The experiment observations are discussed by taking into account the variety of tolerance factors t; the effects of A-site radius 〈rA〉 and the A-site mismatch effect (σ2).  相似文献

Magnetoelectric composites of Ni0.8Co0.1Cu0.1Fe2O4 and Lead Zirconate Titanate (PZT) were prepared by using conventional ceramic method. The measured values of saturation magnetization (Ms) and magnetic moments (μB) are in accordance with the volume fraction of ferrite content in the composite. The dielectric constant of the composites decreases with frequency. The plots of dielectric constant () against temperature (T) show a peak at their respective transition temperatures. The ME output was measured by varying dc bias magnetic field. A large ME output signal of 776 mV/cm was observed for 35% ferrite +65% ferroelectric composite. The magnetoelectric (ME) response is found to be dependent on the content of ferrite phase.  相似文献

The effect of post sintering annealing on the dielectric response of (Pb1−xBax)(Yb0.5Ta0.5)O3 ceramics in the diffuse phase transition range (x=0.2) has been investigated. The samples are prepared by conventional solid-state reaction method. The samples are sintered at 1300 °C for 2 h and annealed at different temperatures (800, 900 and 1000 °C) for 8 h and at 800 °C for different time durations (8, 12 and 24 h). A significant change in the dielectric response has been observed in all the samples. The dielectric constant increases remarkably and the dielectric loss tangent decreases. The dielectric peaks of the annealed samples are observed to be more diffused with noticeable frequency dispersion compared to the as sintered sample.  相似文献

Lanthanum based mixed valence manganite system La1−xCax−0.08Sr0.04Ba0.04MnO3 (LCSBMO; x=0.15, 0.24 and 0.33) synthesized through the sol-gel route is systematically investigated in this paper. The electronic transport and magnetic susceptibility properties are analyzed and compared, apart from the study of unit cell structure, microstructure and composition. Second order phase transition is observed in all the samples and significant difference is observed between the insulator to metal transition temperature (TMI) and paramagnetic (PM) to ferromagnetic (FM) transition temperature (TC). In contrast to the insulating FM behaviour usually observed in La1−xCaxMnO3 (LCMO) for x=0.15, a clear insulator to metal transition is observed for LCSBMO for the same percentage of lanthanum. The temperature dependent resistivity of polycrystalline pellets, when obeying the well studied law ρ=ρo+ρ2T2 for T<TMI, is observed to differ significantly in the values of ρo and ρ2, with the electrical conductivity increasing with x. The variable range hopping model has been found to fit resistivity data better than the small polaron model for T>TMI. AC magnetic susceptibility study of the polycrystalline powders of the manganite system shows the highest PM to FM transition of 285 K for x=0.33.  相似文献
