We present two extended forms of Fisher information that fit well in the context of nonextensive thermostatistics. We show that there exists an interplay between these generalized Fisher information, the generalized q-Gaussian distributions and the q-entropies. The minimum of the generalized Fisher information among distributions with a fixed moment, or with a fixed q-entropy is attained, in both cases, by a generalized q-Gaussian distribution. This complements the fact that the q-Gaussians maximize the q-entropies subject to a moment constraint, and yields new variational characterizations of the generalizedq-Gaussians. We show that the generalized Fisher information naturally pop up in the expression of the time derivative of the q-entropies, for distributions satisfying a certain nonlinear heat equation. This result includes as a particular case the classical de Bruijn identity. Then we study further properties of the generalized Fisher information and of their minimization. We show that, though non additive, the generalized Fisher information of a combined system is upper bounded. In the case of mixing, we show that the generalized Fisher information is convex for q≥1. Finally, we show that the minimization of the generalized Fisher information subject to moment constraints satisfies a Legendre structure analog to the Legendre structure of thermodynamics. 相似文献

A simple microcanonical strategy for the simulation of first-order phase transitions is proposed. At variance with flat-histogram methods, there is no iterative parameters optimization nor long waits for tunneling between the ordered and the disordered phases. We test the method in the standard benchmark: the Q-states Potts model (Q=10 in two dimensions and Q=4 in D=3). We develop a cluster algorithm for this model, obtaining accurate results for systems with more than 10(6) spins. 相似文献

In this study, the nematic-isotropic phase transition is investigated for a sample in the shape of a slab of thickness d, using nonextensive formalism. The interaction potential is written as the sum of the direct interaction of a given nematic molecule with the substrate and of its incomplete interaction with the other nematic molecules due to the presence of the limiting surface. In this framework, we show the effects of the nonextensivity on the nematic-isotropic transition at the nematic-wall interface. The generalized model can shed light on the properties of nematic liquid crystal confined in small-scale structures. 相似文献

We apply the Wigner function formalism from quantum optics via two approaches, Wootters' discrete Wigner function and the generalized Wigner function, to detect quantum phase transitions in critical spin- systems. We develop a general formula relating the phase space techniques and the thermodynamical quantities of spin models, which we apply to single, bipartite and multi-partite systems governed by the XY and the XXZ models. Our approach allows us to introduce a novel way to represent, detect, and distinguish first-, second- and infinite-order quantum phase transitions. Furthermore, we show that the factorization phenomenon of the XY model is only directly detectable by quantities based on the square root of the bipartite reduced density matrix. We establish that phase space techniques provide a simple, experimentally promising tool in the study of many-body systems and we discuss their relation with measures of quantum correlations and quantum coherence. 相似文献

The kinetic foundations of Tsallis' nonextensive thermostatistics are investigated through Boltzmann's transport equation approach. Our analysis follows from a nonextensive generalization of the "molecular chaos hypothesis." For q>0, the q-transport equation satisfies an H theorem based on Tsallis entropy. It is also proved that the collisional equilibrium is given by Tsallis' q-nonextensive velocity distribution. 相似文献

We approach the relationship between classical and quantum theories in a new way, which allows both to be expressed in the same mathematical language, in terms of a matrix algebra in a phase space. This makes clear not only the similarities of the two theories, but also certain essential differences, and lays a foundation for understanding their relationship. We use the Wigner-Moyal transformation as a change of representation in phase space, and we avoid the problem of negative probabilities by regarding the solutions of our equations as constants of the motion, rather than as statistical weight factors. We show a close relationship of our work to that of Prigogine and his group. We bring in a new nonnegative probability function, and we propose extensions of the theory to cover thermodynamic processes involving entropy changes, as well as the usual reversible processes. 相似文献

In this paper we study the time series of sunspots by using two different approaches, analyzing its self-affine behavior and studying its distribution. The long-range correlation exponent α has been calculated via Detrended Fluctuation Analysis and the power law vanishes to values greater than 11 years. On the other hand, the distribution of the sunspots obeys a q-exponential decay that suggests a non-extensive behavior. This observed characteristic seems to take an alternative interpretation of the sunspots dynamics. The present findings suggest us to propose a dynamic model of sunspots formation based on a nonlinear Fokker–Planck equation. Therefore its dynamic process follows the generalized thermostatistical formalism. 相似文献

The generalized phase contrast method (GPC) has been previously shown to be an efficient technique for generating array illumination and is thus highly suitable for such applications as dynamic multiple beam trapping and optical micromanipulation. However, projected arrays usually exhibit intensity roll-offs that may be undesirable for some applications. We show that the uniformity of GPC-generated array illuminations can be improved using intuitive corrections to the input spatial phase modulation, by increasing or decreasing it to respectively raise or lower the intensity of the corresponding output spots to improve uniformity. This is combined with matching corrections to the phase shift introduced by the phase contrast filter. Results from numerical experiments show that the array illumination uniformity error improves from over 40% to less than 1% while maintaining the efficiency prior to implementing corrections. 相似文献

The statistical proprieties of complex systems can differ deeply for those of classical systems governed by Boltzmann–Gibbs entropy. In particular, the probability distribution function observed in several complex systems shows a power-law behavior in the tail which disagrees with the standard exponential behavior showed by Gibbs distribution. Recently, a two-parameter deformed family of entropies, previously introduced by Sharma, Taneja and Mittal (STM), has been reconsidered in the statistical mechanics framework. Any entropy belonging to this family admits a probability distribution function with an asymptotic power-law behavior. In the present work we investigate the Legendre structure of the thermostatistics theory based on this family of entropies. We introduce some generalized thermodynamical potentials, study their relationships with the entropy and discuss their main proprieties. Specialization of the results to some one-parameter entropies belonging to the STM family are presented. 相似文献

We outline basic principles of a canonical formalism for the Nambu mechanics—a generalization of Hamiltonian mechanics proposed by Yoichiro Nambu in 1973. It is based on the notion of a Nambu bracket, which generalizes the Poisson bracket—a binary operation on classical observables on the phase space—to the multiple operation of higher ordern3. Nambu dynamics is described by the phase flow given by Nambu-Hamilton equations of motion—a system of ODE's which involvesn–1 Hamiltonians. We introduce the fundamental identity for the Nambu bracket—a generalization of the Jacobi identity—as a consistency condition for the dynamics. We show that Nambu bracket structure defines a hierarchy of infinite families of subordinated structures of lower order, including Poisson bracket structure, which satisfy certain matching conditions. The notion of Nambu bracket enables us to define Nambu-Poisson manifolds—phase spaces for the Nambu mechanics, which turn out to be more rigid than Poisson manifolds—phase spaces for the Hamiltonian mechanics. We introduce the analog of the action form and the action principle for the Nambu mechanics. In its formulation, dynamics of loops (n–2-dimensional chains for the generaln-ary case) naturally appears. We discuss several approaches to the quantization of Nambu mechanics, based on the deformation theory, path integral formulation and on Nambu-Heisenberg commutation relations. In the latter formalism we present an explicit representation of the Nambu-Heisenberg relation in then=3 case. We emphasize the role ternary and higher order algebraic operations and mathematical structures related to them play in passing from Hamilton's to Nambu's dynamical picture. 相似文献

In this study, the classical evolution operator has been generalized within Tsallis thermostatistics. By assuming an appropriate energy composition law between two systems governed by the same non-extensive entropy, we revisit the definitions of temperature and pressure, arising from the zeroth principle of thermodynamics, in a manner consistent with the thermostatistics structure of the theory. We show that the definitions of these quantities are sensitive to the composition law of entropy and internal energy governing the system. In this way, we can clarify some questions raised about the possible introduction of intensive variables in the context of non-extensive statistical mechanics. 相似文献
