A novel class of pulses is presented which can be regarded as a generalization of both frequency-selective pulses and B1-selective pulses. The excitation profile of these pulses forms a pre-defined pattern in two dimensions, which are spanned by pulse offset and radio-frequency (RF) amplitude. The presented pulses were designed numerically based on principles of optimal control theory. For simple test patterns, we demonstrate the flexibility of this approach by simulations and experiments. This previously unknown flexibility may trigger novel applications in NMR spectroscopy and imaging. As a first practical application, we demonstrate a direct approach for calibrating RF pulses.  相似文献

Optimal control in NMR spectroscopy: Numerical implementation in SIMPSON   总被引:2,自引:2,他引:0  
We present the implementation of optimal control into the open source simulation package SIMPSON for development and optimization of nuclear magnetic resonance experiments for a wide range of applications, including liquid- and solid-state NMR, magnetic resonance imaging, quantum computation, and combinations between NMR and other spectroscopies. Optimal control enables efficient optimization of NMR experiments in terms of amplitudes, phases, offsets etc. for hundreds-to-thousands of pulses to fully exploit the experimentally available high degree of freedom in pulse sequences to combat variations/limitations in experimental or spin system parameters or design experiments with specific properties typically not covered as easily by standard design procedures. This facilitates straightforward optimization of experiments under consideration of rf and static field inhomogeneities, limitations in available or desired rf field strengths (e.g., for reduction of sample heating), spread in resonance offsets or coupling parameters, variations in spin systems etc. to meet the actual experimental conditions as close as possible. The paper provides a brief account on the relevant theory and in particular the computational interface relevant for optimization of state-to-state transfer (on the density operator level) and the effective Hamiltonian on the level of propagators along with several representative examples within liquid- and solid-state NMR spectroscopy.  相似文献

The merits of SPAM and FAM pulses for enhancing the conversion of triple- to single-quantum coherences in the two-dimensional MQMAS experiment are compared using (87)Rb (spin I=3/2) and (27)Al (I=5/2) NMR of crystalline and amorphous materials. Although SPAM pulses are more easily optimized, our experiments and simulations suggest that FAM pulses yield greater signal intensity in all cases. In conclusion, we argue that, as originally suggested, SPAM and FAM pulses are best implemented in phase-modulated whole-echo MQMAS experiments and that the use of SPAM pulses to record separate echo and antiecho data sets, which are then combined, generally yields lower signal-to-noise ratios.  相似文献

The 13C–1H CPMAS with flip-back pulse NMR experiment is revisited in view of applications to pharmaceutical mixtures. The analysis of the kinetics of relaxation and CP transfer with and without the flip-back pulse shows that a significant gain in 13C signal can be expected (thus in experimental time) from the flip-back pulse for protons with long T1. The gain is of the order of T1 of the protons expressed in seconds. The experiment is applied on samples with highly contrasted spin-lattice relaxation times T1 for protons, situation encountered in pharmaceutical mixtures. The application of the flip-back increases significantly the relative signal intensity of the component with the longer T1, making this component detectable even after using short recycle delays. Therefore, this CPMAS with flip-back experiment could be used routinely to get 13C CPMAS NMR spectra of mixtures in constant experimental time and signal-to-noise ratio without the need for optimization of the recycle delays, and for whatever may be the degree of crystallinity of the active principal ingredient (API) and/or excipients.  相似文献

A high resolution two-dimensional solid state NMR experiment is presented that correlates half-integer quadrupolar spins with protons. In this experiment the quadrupolar nuclei evolve during t1 under a split-t1, FAM-enhanced MQMAS pulse scheme. After each t1 period ending at the MQMAS echo position, single quantum magnetization is transferred, via a cross polarization process in the mixing time, from the quadrupolar nuclei to the protons. High-resolution proton signals are then detected in the t2 time domain during wPMLG5* homonuclear decoupling. The experiment has been demonstrated on a powder sample of sodium citrate and 23Na-1H 2D correlation spectra have been obtained. From the HETCOR spectra and the regular MQMAS spectrum, the three crystallographically inequivalent Na+ sites in the asymmetric unit were assigned. This MQMAS-wPMLG HETCOR pulse sequence can be used for spectral editing of half-integer quadrupolar nuclei coupled to protons.  相似文献

In this study 2H T2rho DQF NMR spectra of water in MCM-41 were measured. The T2rho double-quantum filtered (DQF) NMR signal is generated by applying a radio frequency (RF) field for various durations and then observed after a monitor RF pulse. It was found that the transfer between different quantum coherences by the couplings during long-duration RF fields (i.e., soft pulses) and that residual quadrupolar interaction dominates the signal decay. Knowledge of coherence transfer during long-RF pulses has special significance for the development of sophisticated multi-quantum NMR experiments especially multi-quantum MRI applications.  相似文献

For a desired range of offsets, universal rotations of arbitrary flip angle can be constructed based on point-to-point rotations of I(y) with half the flip angle. This approach allows, for example, creation of broadband or bandselective refocusing pulses from broadband or bandselective excitation pulses. Furthermore, universal rotations about any axis can be obtained from point-to-point transformations that can easily be optimized using optimal control algorithms. The construction procedure is demonstrated on the examples of a broadband refocusing pulse, a broadband 120(x) degrees rotation and a z-rotation with offset pattern.  相似文献

2D spectra, particularly for homonuclear correlation, can show a variety of artifactual signals in the F1 domain. Common sources include carry-over of signal modulation from one transient to the next (“rapid pulsing artifacts”) and systematic variations in room temperature (“parallel diagonals”). In both cases there is one very simple expedient which can greatly reduce the impact of these sources of error. Multidimensional data sets are almost invariably recorded by simply incrementing or decrementing evolution periods, largely for reasons of convenience and historical precedent. If instead the sampling of the evolution periods is carried out in random order, the perturbations responsible for the sharp F1 signals in the conventional experiment manifest themselves as t1 noise. Since the randomized acquisition redistributes coherent artifactual signals randomly in F1, the maximum artifactual signal is substantially reduced in the randomized experiment and no longer appears in the form of misleading distinct peaks.  相似文献

We present here a bimodal Floquet theoretical and experimental investigation of the direction of sweep in the swept-frequency two pulse phase modulated (SW(f)-TPPM) scheme used for heteronuclear dipolar decoupling in solid-state NMR. The crystal structure of [C(NH2)3]3Sb2Br9 was determined at 143 K: monoclinic, space group C2/c, Z = 4, a = 15.695 (3), b = 9.039(2), c = 18.364(3) Å, β = 96.94(1)°. The structure consists of two crystallographically independent guanidinium ions and two-dimensional corrugated sheets of (Sb2Br9 3?) n , in which SbBr6 octahedra are connected through three bridging Br atoms each other. One of the cations situates in a cavity of the (Sb2Br9 3?) n layer with statistical disorder, while the other situates between the layers without disorder. Three 81Br NQR resonance lines were assignable to terminal Br atoms, while only one line was found for two inequivalent bridging Br atoms. All the 81Br NQR resonance lines were subjected to fade-out at low temperatures. The temperature dependence curve of 1H NMR T 1 showed well defined two minima, which were explained by postulating the C3 reorientations of two types of cations with very different activation energies. The DTA (DSC) measurement revealed a phase transition of a first-order type at 444 K.  相似文献

The presence of t(1) noise artefacts in 2D phase-cycled Heteronuclear Single Quantum Coherence (HSQC) spectra constrains the use of this experiment despite its superior sensitivity. This paper proposes a new processing algorithm, working in the frequency-domain, for reducing t(1) noise. The algorithm has been developed for use in contexts, such as metabolomic studies, where existing denoising techniques cannot always be applied. Two test cases are presented that show the algorithm to be effective in improving the SNR of peaks embedded within t(1) noise by a factor of more than 2, while retaining the intensity and shape of genuine peaks.  相似文献

We discuss a simple approach to enhance sensitivity for (13)C high-resolution solid-state NMR for proteins in microcrystals by reducing (1)H T(1) relaxation times with paramagnetic relaxation reagents. It was shown that (1)H T(1) values can be reduced from 0.4-0.8s to 60-70 ms for ubiquitin and lysozyme in D(2)O in the presence of 10 mM Cu(II)Na(2)EDTA without substantial degradation of the resolution in (13)C CPMAS spectra. Faster signal accumulation using the shorter (1)H T(1) attained by paramagnetic doping provided sensitivity enhancements of 1.4-2.9 for these proteins, reducing the experimental time for a given signal-to-noise ratio by a factor of 2.0-8.4. This approach presented here is likely to be applicable to various other proteins in order to enhance sensitivity in (13)C high-resolution solid-state NMR spectroscopy.  相似文献

We present the high resolution absorption measurements of gaseous HONO at room temperature using continuous-wave cavity ring-down spectroscopy in the near-infrared region between 6017 and 6067 cm−1 at a resolution of 1 pm (0.037 cm−1). For the trans-HONO isomer an extensive analysis of the ν1+2ν3 combination band 6045.8089 cm–1 was performed starting from the results of a previous study for the 11 and 31 vibrational states [Guilmot J-M, Godefroid M, Herman M. Rovibrational parameters for trans-nitrous acid. J Mol Spectrosc 1993;160:387–400]. The present combination band is perturbed because of the existence of several dark states of HONO which could not be identified unambiguously. The rotational constants achieved for the 1132 state deviate slightly from the values which are predicted from the rotational constants achieved in the previous studies for the 11 and 31 vibrational states of trans-HONO.  相似文献

The single-sided NMR-MOUSE sensor that operates in highly inhomogeneous magnetic fields is used to record a CPMG 1H transverse relaxation decay by CPMG echo trains for a series of cross-linked natural rubber samples. Effective transverse relaxation rates 1/T2,short and 1/T2,long were determined by a bi-exponential fit. A linear dependence of transverse relaxation rates on cross-link density is observed for medium to large values of cross-link density. As an alternative to multi-exponential fits the possibility to analyze the dynamics of soft polymer network in terms of multi-exponential decays via the inverse Laplace transformation was studied. The transient regime and the effect of the T1/T2 ratio in inhomogeneous static and radiofrequency magnetic fields on the CPMG decays were studied numerically using a dedicated C++ program to simulate the temporal and spatial dependence of the CPMG response. A correction factor T2/T2,eff is derived as a function of the T1/T2 ratio from numerical simulations and compared with earlier results from two different well logging devices. High-resolution T1T2 correlations maps are obtained by two-dimensional Laplace inversion of CPMG detected saturation recovery curves. The T1T2 experimental correlations maps were corrected for the T1/T2 effect using the derived T2/T2,eff correction factor.  相似文献

Temperature-dependent material parameters and device performances of GaxIn1−xAs1−ySby TPV cells applied in low temperature (800–1200 °C) radiators are simulated using the PC-1D. As is well known, the optimum bandgap (Eg) decreases towards lower radiator temperatures. So far, the lowest achievable Eg of GaxIn1−xAs1−ySby at 300 K is 0.5 eV. We mainly considering the Ga0.8In0.2As0.18Sb0.82 (Eg = 0.5 eV) TPV cell. The effects of doping concentration and recombination mechanisms of the emitter layer on photovoltaic conversion efficiencies (ηcel) are analyzed in detail, and ηcel can be improved by optimizing doping concentration and suppressing carrier recombination. The effects of GaSb window layer on ηcel are also presented. It shows the type-II energy-band alignment GaSb(window)/GaInAsSb(emitter) heterostructure affect ηcel mainly through Voc. For the first time, the effects of operating temperatures on device performances are analyzed based on temperature-dependent material parameters, and the temperature coefficients of the device performances are presented.  相似文献

利用密度泛函理论和非平衡格林函数方法, 本文对小尺寸团簇Tan(B3N3H6)n+1 (n ≤ 4)的磁性和量子输运性质进行了系统的研究. 计算结果表明, 此类体系采用三明治结构作为其基态并且具有较高的稳定性. 体系的磁矩随团簇尺寸的增大而线性增大. 当把Tan(B3N3H6)n+1团簇耦合到Au电极上时, 形成的Au-Tan(B3N3H6)n+1-Au体系在有限偏压下展示出了较强的自旋过滤能力, 因而可以被看做是一类新型的低维自旋过滤器.  相似文献
