We examine the flow on the axis in the vicinity of the stagnation point for reflection of a strong plane shock wave (with uniform parameters behind the wave) from a sphere and a circular cylinder whose generators are parallel to the incident wave front. The small parameter method [1, 2] is used to obtain, in closed form, relations which define the time variation of the velocity profile, pressure, enthalpy, and reflected shock wave standoff. As the time t , these relations reduce to the known formulas [3, 4] which define the steady flow on the axis for the flow behind the incident shock wave about a body, if account is taken of the leading terms containing the small parameter. The solution is extended to the case in which account for equilibrium dissociation and ionization is necessary.Comparison of the results with measurement [5] of the reflected shock wave distance from a sphere, as a function of time, shows satisfactory agreement.  相似文献

The profile and excitation mechanism of vacuum-ultraviolet radiation emitted from shock wave is investigated in a shock tube. For shock wave in argon, the rdiation is due to resonant transition excited by argon-argon collision in the shock front with excitation cross section coefficientS *=1.0×10−17 cm2·ev−1 and activation energyE *=11.4 ev. For shock wave in air the radition is emitted from a very thin shock layer in which the mechanism ofX 1∑→b 1∑ of N2 is excited with excitation cross sectionQ=2×10−16cm2 and activation energyE *=12.1 ev. The Mach reflection of shock waves in those cases in which the gas ideality condition is satisfied with high accuracy is well-known. The effects associated with the excitation of the internal degrees of freedom for the molecules lead to a qualitative change in the reflection pattern. The present study is an extension of [1, 2], devoted to the study of the Mach reflection of shock waves from a wedge under conditions in which the physical and chemical transformations in the gas heated by the shock wave play a significant role.  相似文献

This paper contains an analysis of the interaction of longitudinal waves with a penny-shaped crack located in an infinitely long elastic cyclinder. The problem is reduced to a Fredholm integral equation of the second kind which is solved numerically for a range of values of the frequency of the incident waves and the radius of the cylinder. Numerical values of the dynamic stress intensity factor at the rim of the crack have been calculated.  相似文献

This paper describes investigations of the interaction between bow shock waves generated by cylindrical bodies in a supersonic flow. Numerical simulations are performed using the inviscid Euler equations for cylinders whose axes are parallel to each other and normal to the flow direction. Mostly an infinite periodical cylinder array is considered, but the case of two cylinders is also briefly discussed. Three different regimes of the shock wave interaction, a regular interaction, a Mach interaction, and a choked flow, have been observed for the flow through the periodical cylinder array. In the case of the flow around two bodies, the choked flow is replaced by a regime with a collective bow shock. The transition between different flow regimes is studied by varying the inflow Mach number or the distance between the cylinders. A hysteretic behavior at the transition between the regular and Mach interactions has been observed. The transition is governed by the theoretical detachment and von Neumann criteria based on the local shock wave inclination at the interaction point.  相似文献

The Richtmyer–Meshkov instability behavior of a heavy-gas $(\text{ SF }_6)$ cylinder accelerated by a cylindrical converging shock wave is studied experimentally. A curved wall profile is well-designed based on the shock dynamics theory [Phys. Fluids, 22: 041701 (2010)] with an incident planar shock Mach number of 1.2 and a converging angle of $15^\circ $ in a $95\,\text{ mm }\times 95$ mm square cross-section shock tube. The $\text{ SF }_6$ cylinder mixed with the glycol droplets flows vertically through the test section and is illuminated horizontally by a laser sheet. The images obtained only one per run by an ICCD (intensified charge coupled device) combined with a pulsed Nd:YAG laser are first presented and the complete evolution process of the $\text{ SF }_6$ cylinder is then captured in a single test shot by a high-speed video camera combined with a high-power continuous laser. In this way, both the developments of the first counter-rotating vortex pair and the second counter-rotating vortex pair with an opposite rotating direction from the first one are observed. The experimental results indicate that the phenomena induced by the converging shock wave and the reflected shock formed from the center of convergence are distinct from those found in the planar shock case.  相似文献

The mechanism of precursor ionization ahead of strong shock waves has been studied in a low density shock tube. The experimental results are illustrated with Arrhenius plots with kink points dividing them into two parts with apparent activation energy ratio 1:2, namely with the values 7.7 eV and 15.3 eV, and varying with first and third power of the density respectively. A model is proposed to interpret the facts where the process taking place in the precursor region, is a two step photo ionization accompanied with the drift flow effect of the gas relative to the shock wave or the ionization recombination effect according to whether the shock speed and initial density are low enough. The product of the A-A collision excitation cross section coefficientS * multiplied by the radiation cross sectionQ * of ArgonS *×Q *=1×10−36 (cm4eV−1) and the three body recombination coefficient of Argon at room temperaturek ra =1×10−24 (cm−6s−1). It is shown that at high velocities of shock waves (V 9.5 km/sec) an important factor influencing the rate of ionization is the depletion of the number of excited states of the atoms through de-excitation. In the case of low pressures (p 1 torr) and for a bounded and optically transparent region of gas heated by the shock wave (for example, for the motion of gas in a shock tube or in a shock layer near a blunt body), the effective ionization rate kf depends on the pressure [1], which leads to violation of the law of binary similarity which holds under these conditions without allowance for de-excitation. On leaving the relaxation zone, the gas arrives at a stationary state with constant parameters differing from those in thermodynamic equilibrium. The electron concentration and also the radiation intensity in the continuum and the lines are lower than the values for thermodynamic equilibrium. These considerations explain the results of known experiments and some new experiments on ionization and radiation of air behind a travelling shock wave.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 1, pp. 105–112, January–February, 1980.  相似文献

In the paper, interaction between oblique shock waves in metal powders is numerically simulated. The boundaries between regular- and irregular-interaction regimes are established. A hysteresis that takes place during a transition from one regime to the other is revealed. Received 17 August 2001 / Accepted 6 December 2001  相似文献
