The combined effects of post-collision interaction in the final state and interference due to the indistinguishability of the two electrons have been studied in a selected case of resonant double photoionization of neon. In our coincidence experiments, the photo- and Auger-electron pair was measured when the two electrons have nearly equal energy and are ejected at small mutual angle. The obtained energy distributions exhibit a strong interplay of post-collision interaction and interference effects, in agreement with the theoretical prediction of Sheinerman and Schmidt [J. Phys. B 30, 1677 (1997)] made on beryllium. 相似文献

We present experimental results to verify the optical image encryption based on interference. The optical experiment is performed by using a reflective phase-only spatial light modulator (SLM) to generate the desired phase retardations. A hologram plate is employed to record the modulated wavefronts in a double-step-holographic-exposure process. The experiment results are in good agreement with the numerical simulations of the encryption algorithm, which demonstrates the feasibility of the optical image encryption in actual optical systems. 相似文献

We report experimental verification of the commutation relation for Pauli spin operators using the single-photon polarization state. The experimental quantum operation corresponding to the commutator, [σz,σx]=kσy, showed process fidelity of 0.94 compared to the ideal σy operation and |k| is determined to be 2.12±0.18. 相似文献

We present a method to verify the electromagnetic spectral interference law experimentally, which connects the combined two-beam usual Stokes parameters with the corresponding single beam usual Stokes parameters. Using polarizers and phase retarders in a modified version of the Young's interferometer, the usual Stokes parameters and the generalized Stokes parameters are determined for a laser beam. The experimentally determined single point (usual) Stokes parameters at an axial point in the observation plane for the combined beam are compared with their theoretically expected values obtained by putting the experimental data in the electromagnetic spectral interference law. A fairly good agreement is found between the two values. Not only does the proposed method provides a comparison between the two kinds of Stokes parameters but also validates the role of the generalized Stokes parameters as modulation parameters for the usual Stokes parameters. 相似文献

Recent experiments on double photoionization of H2 with photon energies between 160 and 240 eV have revealed body-frame angular distributions that suggest classical two-slit interference effects may be present when one electron carries most of the available energy and the second electron is not observed. We report precise quantum mechanical calculations that reproduce the experimental findings. They reveal that the interpretation in terms of classical diffraction is only appropriate at substantially higher photon energies. At the energies considered in the experiment we offer an alternative explanation based on the mixing of two nondiffractive contributions by circularly polarized light. 相似文献

Dissociative photoionization (DPI) of randomly oriented H(2) molecules has been studied using linearly polarized synchrotron radiation at selected photon energies of 31, 33, and 35 eV. Large amplitude oscillations in the photoelectron asymmetry parameter β, as a function of electron energy, have been observed. The phase of these β oscillations are in excellent agreement with the results of recent close coupling calculations [Fernández and Martín, New J. Phys. 11, 043020 (2009)]. We show that the oscillations are the signature of interferences between the 1Q(1)?(1)Σ(u)(+) and 1Q(2)?(1)Π(u) doubly excited states decaying at different internuclear distances. The oscillations thus provide information about the classical paths followed by the nuclei. The presence of such oscillations is predicted to be a general phenomenon in DPI. 相似文献

Interference of photons emerging from independent sources is essential for modern quantum-information processing schemes, above all quantum repeaters and linear-optics quantum computers. We report an observation of nonclassical interference of two single photons originating from two independent, separated sources, which were actively synchronized with a rms timing jitter of 260 fs. We present a strain analysis of an edge dislocation core, and a
detailed discussion of the Foreman dislocation model. In order to
examine the model, the quantitative measurement of strain field
around an edge dislocation in aluminum is performed, and
high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and geometric phase
analysis are employed to map the strain field of the edge
dislocation core in aluminum. The strain measurements are compared
with the Foreman dislocation model, showing that they are in good

A means of nonlinear interferential comb spectroscopy with increased sensitivity is propsed. Radiation from the comb-generator of a femtosecond laser is focused at the center of a cell with vapors of rubidium atoms, mounted in an arm of a Michelson interferometer. This technique is an improvement of Rozhdestvenski hooks method, with digital registration by the detectors on a CCD array being substituted for the photographic registration of interferograms, resulting in increased interferometric sensitivity (holographic interferometry). A primary spectrogram is processed in digital form on a dual-beam interferometer equipped with a phase modulator to improve sensitivity with the possibility of an a posteriori increase in interferometric sensitivity. Dispersive signals appear in the interferogram spectrogram on two-photon absorption lines when the pumping radiation is focused at the center of a cell with Rb vapors. Nonlinear processes of coherent radiation due to nonlinear interference effects are studied. Numerical simulations are performed that confirm the proposed theoretical model. 相似文献

The connection between particle production in antiproton-proton annihilation and non-diffractive proton-proton processes is discussed in the framework of the dual unitarization scheme. We calculate relative multiplicity moments for antiproton-proton annihilation using the moments of non-diffractive proton-proton interactions and find good agreement with experimental annihilation data. 相似文献

The predicted shear-induced shift of the wave phase velocity, the essence of the shear-modified ion-acoustic (SMIA) instability mechanism that reduces ion Landau damping for otherwise damped ion-acoustic waves [V. Gavrishchaka et al., 80, 728 (1998)], is verified with direct measurements in a strongly magnetized laboratory plasma. The SMIA growth rate is shown to increase with increasing shear, as predicted. SMIA wave propagation is shown to be possible at both small and large angles to the magnetic field, consistent with space observations of ion-acoustic-like waves. 相似文献

A coronagraph designed for high contrast imaging applications has been experimentally tested using coherent laser light and a vortex mask of topological charge m=2. Intensity contrast values of 95% were achieved in this first verification of the scheme. Improvements for approaching the theoretical value of 100% are suggested. 相似文献

Arpan Das et al. proposed a set of new Bell inequalities (Das et al., 2017 [16]) for a three-qubit system and claimed that each inequality within this set is violated by all generalized Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GGHZ) states. We investigate experimentally the new inequalities in the three-photon GGHZ class states. Since the inequalities are symmetric under the identical particles system, we chose one Bell-type inequality from the set arbitrarily. The experimental data well verified the theoretical prediction. Moreover, the experimental results show that the amount of violation of the new Bell inequality against locality realism increases monotonically following the increase of the tangle of the GGHZ state. The most profound physical essence revealed by the results is that the nonlocality of GGHZ state correlate with three tangles directly. 相似文献

Sum rules involving the spin structure of the nucleon like those due to Bjorken, Ellis and Jaffe and the one due to Gerasimov, Drell and Hearn offer the opportunity to study the structure of strong interactions. At long distance scales in the confinement regime the Gerasimov-Drell-Hearn (GDH) Sum Rule connects static properties of the nucleon like the anomalous magnetic moment κ and the nucleon mass m, with the spin dependent absorption of real photons with total cross sections 0gs3/2 and σ1/2: Here 3/2 and 1/2 identify relative spin orientation of the photon and the nucleon parallel or anti-parallel respectively in the nucleon rest frame; denotes the fine-structure constant and ν the energy of the photon. Hence the full spin-dependent excitation spectrum of the nucleon is related to its static properties. The sum rule has not been investigated experimentally until recently. For the first time this fundamental sum rule is verified by the GDH-Collaboration with circularly polarized real photons and longitudinally polarized nucleons at the two accelerators
