This paper deals with the global existence and blow-up of solutions to some nonlinear hyperbolic systems with damping and source terms in a bounded domain. By using the potential well method, we obtain the global existence. Moreover, for the problem with linear damping terms, blow-up of solutions is considered and some estimates for the lifespan of solutions are given.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a quasilinear hyperbolic equation with strong damping. Firstly, by use of the successive approximation method and a series of classical estimates, we prove the local existence and uniqueness of a weak solution. Secondly, via some inequalities, the potential method and the concave method, we derive the asymptotic and blow-up behavior of the weak solution with different conditions.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the existence and uniqueness of the solution to the Cauchy problem for a class of nonlinear wave equations of higher order and prove the existence and nonexistence of global solutions to this problem by a potential well method.  相似文献

It is well known that the solution of the classical linear wave equation with an initial condition with compact support and vanishing initial velocity also has a compact support included in a set depending on time: the support of the solution at time tt is causally related to that of the initial condition. Reed and Simon have shown that for a real-valued Klein–Gordon equation with (nonlinear) right-hand side −λu3λu3 (λ>0λ>0), causality still holds. We show the same property for a one-dimensional Klein–Gordon problem but with transmission and with a more general repulsive nonlinear right-hand side F(u)F(u). We also prove the global existence of a solution using the repulsiveness of FF. In the particular case F(u)=−λu3F(u)=λu3, the problem is a relativistic model for a quantum particle with repulsive self-interaction and tunnel effect at a semi-infinite potential step.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the Cauchy problem for a class of the system of semilinear hyperbolic equations with damping. With the use of the LpLq type estimation for the corresponding linear problem and the method of comparison of functional, the existence and nonexistence criteria of global solutions are found. In this paper we consider a semilinear Petrovsky equation with damping and source terms. It is proved that the solution blows up in finite time if the positive initial energy satisfies a suitable condition. Moreover for the linear damping case, we show that the solution blows up in finite time even for vanishing initial energy. This is an important breakthrough, since it is only well known that the solution blows up in finite time if the initial energy is negative from all the previous literature.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is the statement of a general class of Temple systems of conservation laws that includes both the chromatography/electrophoresis like systems and the 2×2 LeRoux system that we generalize to any dimension. We show that this class actually belongs to the Temple type, and compute a complete set of strict Riemann invariants in a generic situation. As the property “the integral curve of this eigenvector is a straight line”is essentially a linear algebra property, we aim to deduce the results with simple (linear algebra) hypothesis and arguments, from the structure of the jacobian matrix.  相似文献

We consider a nonlinear system of two-dimensional Klein-Gordon equations with masses m1, m2 satisfying the resonance relation m2=2m1>0. We introduce a structural condition on the nonlinearities under which the solution exists globally in time and decays at the rate O(|t|−1) as t→±∞ in L. In particular, our new condition includes the Yukawa type interaction, which has been excluded from the null condition in the sense of J.-M. Delort, D. Fang and R. Xue [J.-M. Delort, D. Fang, R. Xue, Global existence of small solutions for quadratic quasilinear Klein-Gordon systems in two space dimensions, J. Funct. Anal. 211 (2004) 288-323].  相似文献

In the weakly hyperbolic Cauchy problem, we investigate the relation between the modulus of continuity in the time variable of the coefficients and the well-posedness in Beurling-Roumieu classes of ultradifferentiable functions and functionals. We find a sharp condition on the modulus of continuity assuring the well-posedness in nonquasianalytic classes.  相似文献

It is proven that the generalized Riemann problem for a class of quasilinear hyperbolic systems of balance laws admits a unique global piecewise C1C1 solution u=u(t,x)u=u(t,x) containing only nn shock waves with small amplitude on t?0t?0 and this solution possesses a global structure similar to that of the similarity solution u=U(x/t)u=U(x/t) of the corresponding homogeneous Riemann problem. As an application of our result, we prove the existence of global shock solutions, piecewise continuous and piecewise smooth solution with shock discontinuities, of the flow equations of a model class of fluids with viscosity induced by fading memory with a single jump initial data.  相似文献

In this paper, we solve the Riemann problem with the initial data containing Dirac delta functions for a class of coupled hyperbolic systems of conservation laws. Under suitably generalized Rankine–Hugoniot relation and entropy condition, the existence and uniqueness of solutions involving delta shock waves are proved. Further, four kinds of different structure for solutions are established uniquely.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate the global existence and energy decay rate for the solution of a coupled hyperbolic system. The semi-explicit energy decay rate is established by using piecewise multiplier techniques and weighted integral inequality. We extend the energy decay result in Alabau-Boussouira [F. Alabau-Boussouira, Convexity and weighted integral inequalities for energy decay rates of nonlinear dissipative hyperbolic systems, Appl. Math. Optim. 51 (2005) 61-105] for a single equation to the coupled hyperbolic system.  相似文献

Under general assumption, we prove that the smooth solution to reducible quasilinear hyperbolic system with periodic initial data in general develop singularities in finite time, provided that the total variation on one period of the initial data is small.  相似文献

We consider a hyperbolic version of Eells-Sampson's equation: . This equation is semilinear with respect to space derivative and time derivative. Letu (x) be the solution with initial data u(0) and (0), and putv (t,x)=u (t,x). We show that when the resistance ,V (t,x) converges to a solution of the original parabolic Eells-Sampson's equation: . Note thatv t(0)= (0) diverges when . We show that this phenomena occurs in more general situations. This article was processed by the author using the Springer-Verlag Pjourlg macro package.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with a system of variational wave equations which is the Euler–Lagrange equations of a variational principle arising in the theory of nematic liquid crystals and a few other physical contexts. The global existence of an energy-conservative weak solution to its Cauchy problem for initial data of finite energy is established by using the method of energy-dependent coordinates and the Young measure theory.  相似文献

The Riemann problem for a two-dimensional nonstrictly hyperbolic system of conservation laws is considered. Without the restriction that each jump of the initial data projects one planar elementary wave, ten topologically distinct solutions are obtained by applying the method of generalized characteristic analysis. Some of these solutions involve the nonclassical waves, i.e., the delta shock wave and the delta contact discontinuity, for which we explicitly give the expressions of their strengths, locations and propagation speeds. Moreover, we demonstrate that the nature of our solutions is identical with that of solutions to the corresponding one-dimensional Cauchy problem, which provides a verification that our construction produces the correct unique global solutions.  相似文献

In this paper, we are concerned with the global existence and stability of a steady transonic conic shock wave for the symmetrically perturbed supersonic flow past an infinitely long conic body. The flow is assumed to be polytropic, isentropic and described by a steady potential equation. Theoretically, as indicated in [R. Courant, K.O. Friedrichs, Supersonic Flow and Shock Waves, Interscience Publishers, Inc., New York, 1948], it follows from the Rankine-Hugoniot conditions and the entropy condition that there will appear a weak shock or a strong shock attached at the vertex of the sharp cone in terms of the different pressure states at infinity behind the shock surface, which correspond to the supersonic shock and the transonic shock respectively. In the references [Shuxing Chen, Zhouping Xin, Huicheng Yin, Global shock wave for the supersonic flow past a perturbed cone, Comm. Math. Phys. 228 (2002) 47-84; Dacheng Cui, Huicheng Yin, Global conic shock wave for the steady supersonic flow past a cone: Polytropic case, preprint, 2006; Dacheng Cui, Huicheng Yin, Global conic shock wave for the steady supersonic flow past a cone: Isothermal case, Pacific J. Math. 233 (2) (2007) 257-289] and [Zhouping Xin, Huicheng Yin, Global multidimensional shock wave for the steady supersonic flow past a three-dimensional curved cone, Anal. Appl. 4 (2) (2006) 101-132], the authors have established the global existence and stability of a supersonic shock for the perturbed hypersonic incoming flow past a sharp cone when the pressure at infinity is appropriately smaller than that of the incoming flow. At present, for the supersonic symmetric incoming flow, we will study the global transonic shock problem when the pressure at infinity is appropriately large.  相似文献

In this paper we derive the following two properties: the first one is a precise representation of WKB solution to the Cauchy problem of a linear wave equation with a variable coefficient with respect to time, and the second one is the global solvability for Kirchhoff equation in some special classes of nonreal-analytic functions, which is proved by grace of the first property.  相似文献
