In this paper we study the category of finitely generated modules of finite projective dimension over a class of weakly triangular algebras, which includes the algebras whose idempotent ideals have finite projective dimension. In particular, we prove that the relations given by the (relative) almost split sequences generate the group of all relations for the Grothendieck group of P <∞(Λ) if and only if P <∞(Λ) is of finite type. A similar statement is known to hold for the category of all finitely generated modules over an artin algebra, and was proven by C.M.Butler and M. Auslander ( [B] and [A]).  相似文献

Let A be a commutative noetherian ring of Krull dimension 3. We give a necessary and sufficient condition for A-projective modules of rank 2 to be free. Using this, we show that all the finitely generated projective modules over the algebraic real 3-sphere are free.  相似文献

We (re)introduce four ideal-related generalizations of classic module-theoretic notions: the ideal-superfluity, projective ideal-covers, the ideal-projectivity, and ideal-supplements. For a superfluous ideal I, the main theorem asserts the equivalence between the conditions: “I-supplements are direct summands in finitely generated projective modules”; “finitely generated I-projective modules are projective”; “projective modules with finitely generated factors modulo I are finitely generated”; “finitely generated flat modules with projective factors modulo I are projective.” Moreover, we provide a property of the ideal I which is sufficient for the equivalence to hold true. The property is expressed in terms of idempotent-lifting in matrix rings.  相似文献

Let A n be the n-th Weyl algebra over a field of characteristic 0 and M a finitely generated module over A n . By further exploring the relationship between the Poincar′e series and the dimension and the multiplicity of M , we are able to prove that the tensor product of two finitely generated modules over A n has the multiplicity equal to the product of the multiplicities of both modules. It turns out that we can compute the dimensions and the multiplicities of some homogeneous subquotient modules of A n .  相似文献

Let A be a commutative unital Banach algebra with connected maximal ideal space X. We show that the Gelfand transform induces an isomorphism between the group of commutative Galois extensions of A with given finite Abelian Galois group, and the corresponding group of extensions of C(X). This result is applied, when X is sufficiently nice, to construct a separable projective finitely generated faithful Banach A-algebra whose maximal ideal space is a given finitely fibered covering space of X.  相似文献

A semi-dualizing module over a commutative noetherian ring A is a finitely generated module C with RHomA(C,C)?A in the derived category D(A).We show how each such module gives rise to three new homological dimensions which we call C-Gorenstein projective, C-Gorenstein injective, and C-Gorenstein flat dimension, and investigate the properties of these dimensions.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In this article, we study finitely generated reflexive modules over coherent GCD-domains and finitely generated projective modules over polynomial rings. In particular, we give a sufficient condition for a finitely generated reflexive module over a coherent GCD-domain to be a free module. By use of this result, we prove that every finitely generated projective R + [X]-module can be extended from R if R is a commutative ring with gl.dim(R) ≤ 2.  相似文献

We consider noncommutative line bundles associated with the Hopf fibrations of SUq(2) over all Podle? spheres and with a locally trivial Hopf fibration of S3pq. These bundles are given as finitely generated projective modules associated via 1-dimensional representations of U(1) with Galois-type extensions encoding the principal fibrations of SUq(2) and S3pq. We show that the Chern numbers of these modules coincide with the winding numbers of representations defining them. To cite this article: P.M. Hajac et al., C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris, Ser. Let A and B be two finite dimensional algebras over an algebraically closed field, related to each other by a stable equivalence of Morita type. We prove that A and B have the same number of isomorphism classes of simple modules if and only if their 0-degree Hochschild Homology groups HH 0(A) and HH 0(B) have the same dimension. The first of these two equivalent conditions is claimed by the Auslander-Reiten conjecture. For symmetric algebras we will show that the Auslander-Reiten conjecture is equivalent to other dimension equalities, involving the centers and the projective centers of A and B. This motivates our detailed study of the projective center, which now appears to contain the main obstruction to proving the Auslander-Reiten conjecture for symmetric algebras. As a by-product, we get several new invariants of stable equivalences of Morita type.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider the rings over which the class of finitely generated strongly Gorenstein projective modules is closed under extensions (called fs-closed rings). We give a characterization about the Grothendieck groups of the category of the finitely generated strongly Gorenstein projective R-modules and the category of the finitely generated R-modules with finite strongly Gorenstein projective dimensions for any left Noetherian fs-closed ring R.  相似文献

Pairs (A,B) of mutually annihilating operators AB=BA=0 on a finite dimensional vector space over an algebraically closed field were classified by Gelfand and Ponomarev [Russian Math. Surveys 23 (1968) 1-58] by method of linear relations. The classification of (A,B) over any field was derived by Nazarova, Roiter, Sergeichuk, and Bondarenko [J. Soviet Math. 3 (1975) 636-654] from the classification of finitely generated modules over a dyad of two local Dedekind rings. We give canonical matrices of (A,B) over any field in an explicit form and our proof is constructive: the matrices of (A,B) are sequentially reduced to their canonical form by similarity transformations (A,B)?(S-1AS,S-1BS).  相似文献

In this article, we investigate the change of rings theorems for the Gorenstein dimensions over arbitrary rings. Namely, by the use of the notion of strongly Gorenstein modules, we extend the well-known first, second, and third change of rings theorems for the classical projective and injective dimensions to the Gorenstein projective and injective dimensions, respectively. Each of the results established in this article for the Gorenstein projective dimension is a generalization of a G-dimension of a finitely generated module M over a noetherian ring R.  相似文献

We discuss properties of Yetter-Drinfeld modules over weak bialgebras over commutative rings. The categories of left-left, left-right, right-left and right-right Yetter-Drinfeld modules over a weak Hopf algebra are isomorphic as braided monoidal categories. Yetter-Drinfeld modules can be viewed as weak Doi-Hopf modules, and, a fortiori, as weak entwined modules. IfH is finitely generated and projective, then we introduce the Drinfeld double using duality results between entwining structures and smash product structures, and show that the category of Yetter-Drinfeld modules is isomorphic to the category of modules over the Drinfeld double. The category of finitely generated projective Yetter-Drinfeld modules over a weak Hopf algebra has duality.  相似文献

Before his death, Auslander announced that every finitely generated module over a local Gorenstein ring has a minimal Cohen–Macaulay approximation. Yoshimo extended Auslander's result to local Cohen–Macaulay rings admitting a dualizing module.Over a local Gorenstein ring the finitely generated maximal Cohen–Macaulay modules are the finitely generated Gorenstein projective modules so in fact Auslander's theorem says finitely generated modules over such rings have Gorenstein projective covers. We extend Auslander's theorem by proving that over a local Cohen–Macaulay ring admitting a dualizing module all finitely generated modules of finite G-dimension (in Auslander's sense) have a Gorenstein projective cover. Since all finitely generated modules over a Gorenstein ring have finite G-dimension, we recover Auslander's theorem when R is Gorenstein.  相似文献

In this article we give a bound on the number of generators of a finitely generated projective module of constant rank over a commutative Noetherian ring in terms of the rank of the module and the dimension of the ring. Under certain conditions we provide an improvement to the Forster–Swan bound in case of finitely generated projective modules of rank n over an affine algebra over a finite field or an algebraically closed field.  相似文献

We give effective bounds on the higher Hilbert coefficients of finitely generated modules over Noetherian local rings (A, m) with respect to m-primary ideals, in terms of the multiplicity, dimension and the lengths of local cohomology modules. We similarly bound the Castelnuovo–Mumford regularity of the associated Rees modules.  相似文献

We consider a finite dimensional k-algebraA and associate to each tilting module a cone in the Grothendieck groupK 0 of finitely generated A-modules. We prove that the set of cones associated to tilting modules of projective dimension at most one defines a, not necessarily finite, fan Σ(A). IfA is of finite global dimension, the fan Σ(A) is smooth. Moreover, using the cone of a tilting module, we can associate a volume to each tilting module. Using the fan and the volume, we obtain new proofs for several classical results; we obtain certain convergent sums naturally associated to the algebraA and obtain criteria for the completeness of a list of tilting modules. Finally, we consider several examples. Dedicated to O. Riemenschneider on the occasion of his 65th birthday  相似文献

Let D be the ring of differential operators on a smooth irreducible affine variety X over C, or, more generally, the enveloping algebra of any locally free Lie algebroid on X. The category of finitely generated graded modules of the Rees algebra has a natural quotient category PD which imitates the category of modules on Proj of a graded commutative ring. We show that the derived category Db(PD) is equivalent to the derived category of finitely generated modules of a sheaf of algebras E on X which is coherent over X. This generalizes the usual Beilinson equivalence for projective space, and also the Beilinson equivalence for differential operators on a smooth curve used by Ben-Zvi and Nevins in [6] to describe the moduli space of left ideals in D.  相似文献

Finitely generated projective modules over exchange rings   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5
This paper studies finitely generated projective modules over exchange rings. We prove that cancellation holds inp(R), andK o (R) is completely determined by the continuous maps from the spectrum ofR toZ ifR is an exchange ring andR/J(R) is a ring with central idempotent elements.  相似文献

Let S and {iaR} be two associative rings, let S C R be a semidualizing (S,R)-bimodule. We introduce and investigate properties of the totally reflexive module with respect to S C R and we give a characterization of the class of the totally C R -reflexive modules over any ring R. Moreover, we show that the totally C R -reflexive module with finite projective dimension is exactly the finitely generated projective right R-module. We then study the relations between the class of totally reflexive modules and the Bass class with respect to a semidualizing bimodule. The paper contains several results which are new in the commutative Noetherian setting.  相似文献
