Solid-state IR and Raman as well as aqueous solution state Raman spectra are reported for urazole, 4-methylurazole and their deuterated derivatives. DFT calculations, at the B3-LYP/cc-pVTZ level, established that the structures and vibrational spectra of the molecules can be interpreted using models with hydrogen-bonded water molecules, in conjunction with the polarizable continuum solvation method. The vibrational spectra were computed at the optimised molecular geometry in each case, enabling normal coordinate analysis, which yielded satisfactory agreement with the experimental IR and Raman data. Computed potential energy distributions of the normal modes provided detailed vibrational assignments. Solid-state pseudopotential-plane-wave DFT calculations, using the PW91 functional were also carried out, reflecting the importance of intermolecular hydrogen bonding in the solid state.  相似文献

This work deals with the vibrational spectroscopy of 4-amino-2,6-dichloropyridine (ADCP) and 2-chloro-3,5-dinitropyridine (CDNP) by means of quantum chemical calculations. The mid and far FTIR and FT-Raman spectra were measured in the condensed state. The fundamental vibrational frequencies and intensity of vibrational bands were evaluated using density functional theory (DFT) with the standard B3LYP/6-31G(*) and B3LYP/6-311+G(**) methods and basis set combinations, and was scaled using various scale factors which yields a good agreement between observed and calculated frequencies. The vibrational spectra were interpreted with the aid of normal coordinate analysis based on scaled density functional force field. The results of the calculations were applied to simulated infrared and Raman spectra of the title compounds, which showed excellent agreement with the observed spectra.  相似文献

The aim of this work was to present a comprehensive vibrational spectroscopic study of 25,26,27,28-tetrahydroxycalix[4]arene. For this purpose, quantum chemical calculations were carried out at the ab initio HF/4-31G* level, as a consequence of the great size of the molecule. In the frame of these calculations, the symmetry of the molecule was investigated. Trying C 4v , C 2v , and C s symmetries as input, the geometry optimization, however, pointed to the C 2 configuration. In the latter case, all the calculated vibrational frequencies were greater than zero, and therefore the equilibrium geometry could be identified. Medium and far infrared as well as Raman spectra of the compound were measured. On the basis of the calculated force constants and geometric parameters, normal coordinate analysis was applied for the interpretation of the experimental vibrational spectra. Problems arose with the choice of the internal coordinates of the molecule, which are important from the point of view of the internal macrocycle ("lower rim") of the molecule. On the basis of the theory of redundant coordinates, a program was written for choosing the coordinates of this 16-membered cycle. Full interpretation of the vibrational fundamentals of the compound is presented. Several force constant matrix elements have surprisingly high values. As a result of the normal coordinate analysis, the relative rigidity of the lower rim was concluded. Ab initio calculations and assignment of the vibrational spectra of 25,26,27,28-tetrahydroxycalix[4]arene based on the calculations are presented.  相似文献

In this work, the experimental and theoretical spectra of 4-chloro-2-bromoacetophenone (4C2BAP) are studied. FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of title molecule have been recorded in the region 4000-100 cm(-1). The structural and spectroscopic data of the molecule in the ground state have been calculated by using Hartree-Fock and density functional method (B3LYP) with the 6-31G (d, p) and 6-311G (d, p) basis sets. The vibrational frequencies are calculated and scaled values are compared with the experimental FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra. The DFT (B3LYP/6-311G (d, p)) calculations are more reliable than the ab initio HF/6-311G (d, p) calculations for the vibrational study of 4C2BAP. The optimized geometric parameters (bond lengths and bond angles) are compared with experimental values of the molecule. The alteration of vibrational bands of the carbonyl and acetyl groups due to the presence of halogens (Cl and Br) in the base molecule is also investigated from their characteristic region of linked spectrum.  相似文献

This work combines new laboratory studies of the near-infrared vibrational spectra of HNO3 with theoretical predictions of these spectra as a means to understand the properties of this molecule at energies well above the fundamental region. Trends in overtone and combination band energy levels and intensities are compiled and examined. The theoretical calculations are in excellent agreement with the observed frequencies and intensities of the transitions in this spectral region. The calculations also serve as a valuable aid for assigning many of the transitions. This work validates the ab initio generated potential energy surface for HNO3 by comparing vibrational perturbation theory calculations to experimental spectra focused on combination band and overtone absorptions.  相似文献

Solid state IR and Raman as well as aqueous solution state Raman spectra are reported for the anions of urazole and 4-methylurazole, and their N-deuterated derivatives. DFT calculations, at the B3-LYP/cc-pVTZ level, established that the structures and vibrational spectra of both anions can be interpreted using a model that incorporates hydrogen-bonded water molecules, in conjunction with the polarizable continuum solvation method. In the case of the urazole anion it is shown that deprotonation occurs primarily at N1 rather than N4, but there is also evidence for the second tautomer both in the solid state and in aqueous solution. The vibrational spectra were computed at the optimised molecular geometry in each case, enabling normal coordinate analysis, which yielded satisfactory agreement with the experimental IR and Raman data. Computed potential energy distributions of the normal modes provided detailed vibrational assignments.  相似文献

The geometry, frequency and intensity of the vibrational bands of isoquinoline (IQ) and 8-hydroxyquinoline (8-HQ) were obtained by the density functional theory (DFT) calculations with the B3LYP functional and 6-31 G* basis set. The vibrational spectral data obtained from the solid phase mid and far FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of IQ and 8-HQ are assigned based on the results of the normal coordinate calculations. The observed and the calculated spectra are found to be in good agreement.  相似文献

The complete IR spectra of the title complex Ni(mnt)(bpy) (mnt=maleonitriledithiolate, bpy=2,2'-bipyridine) and a new method to analyze vibrational spectra for such a complicated metal complex are reported in this paper. The molecular geometry, binding, electronic structure and spectroscopic property of it have been studied in detail by theoretical calculations. The geometry optimization from PM3 calculations give that this molecule is of a planar structure with the symmetry point group C(2v) and its ground state is the spin triplet state. The vibrational and electronic spectra were calculated by PM3 and ZINDO/S methods, respectively. The scientific method of analyzing vibrational spectra is established herein by giving main fixed points and pivotal vibrational units. Besides the regular symbols, the new defined symbols eta and M play an important role in describing the vibration modes accurately and vividly.  相似文献

The vibrational spectra of meso-tetraphenylporphyrin diacid (H4TPP2+) have been studied with the density functional theory. Raman and IR spectra of H4TPP2+ and its N-deuterated analogue (D4TPP2+) are measured and compared with the computational results. Complete assignments of observed IR and Raman bands were proposed on the bases of calculation results. The DFT calculations reproduce 140 observed fundamentals with the RMS 8.6 cm-1. The computational as well as the experimental results reveal that the saddle-distortion of porphyrin macrocycle for the diacid leads to a significant effect on its vibrational spectra. Especially, several out-of-plane skeletal modes, which were either unobserved or very weak in the Raman spectra of CuTPP and H2TPP, are activated in the Raman spectra of the diacids. In addition, enhancement for the Raman bands of phenyl CC stretching modes were observed and attributed to the conjugation effect of pi-systems of the phenyl and the porphyrinato macrocycles.  相似文献

The FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of 1-bromo-4-chlorobenzene (1-Br-4-CB) have been recorded using Bruker IFS 66V spectrometer in the region of 4000-100 cm(-1). Ab-initio-HF (HF/6-311+G (d, p)) and DFT (B3LYP/6-31++G (d, p)/6-311++G (d, p)) calculations have been performed giving energies, optimized structures, harmonic vibrational frequencies, depolarization ratios, IR intensities, Raman activities. The vibrational frequencies are calculated and scaled values are compared with FT-IR and FT-Raman experimental values. Comparison of simulated spectra with the experimental spectra provides important information, the computational method have the ability to describe the vibrational methods. The frequency estimation analysis on HF and DFT is made. The impact of di-substituted halogens on the benzene molecule has also been discussed.  相似文献

Theoretical calculations on the molecular geometry and the vibrational spectrum of 4-hydroxybenzoic acid were carried out by the Density Functional Theory (DFT/B3LYP) method. In addition, IR and Raman spectra of the 4-hydroxybenzoic acid in solid phase were newly recorded using them in conjunction the experimental and theoretical data (including SQM calculations), a vibrational analysis of this molecular specie was accomplished and a reassignment of the normal modes corresponding to some spectral bands was proposed. The geometries of monomers and dimers in gas phase were optimized using the DFT B3LYP method with the 6-31G*, D95** and 6-311++G** basis sets. Also, both the vibrational spectra recorded and the results of the theoretical calculations show the presence of one stable conformer for the 4-hydroxybenzoic acid cyclic dimer. The B3LYP/6-31G* method was used to study the structure for cyclic dimer of 4-hydroxybenzoic acid and for a complete assignment our results were compared with results of the cyclic dimer of benzoic acid. A scaled quantum mechanical analysis was carried out to yield the best set of harmonic force constants. The formation of the hydrogen bond was investigated in terms of the charge density by the AIM program and by the NBO calculations.  相似文献

The competitive structural isomers of the Mo(2)O(y) (-)Mo(2)O(y) (y=2, 3, and 4) clusters are investigated using a combination of anion photoelectron (PE) spectroscopy and density functional theory calculations. The PE spectrum and calculations for MoO(3) (-)MoO(3) are also presented to show the level of agreement to be expected between the spectra and calculations. For MoO(3) (-) and MoO(3), the calculations predict symmetric C(3v) structures, an adiabatic electron affinity of 3.34 eV, which is above the observed value 3.17(2) eV. However, there is good agreement between observed and calculated vibrational frequencies and band profiles. The PE spectra of Mo(2)O(2) (-) and Mo(2)O(3) (-) are broad and congested, with partially resolved vibrational structure on the lowest energy bands observed in the spectra. The electron affinities (EA(a)s) of the corresponding clusters are 2.24(2) and 2.33(7) eV, respectively. Based on the calculations, the most stable structure of Mo(2)O(2) (-) is Y shaped, with the two Mo atoms directly bonded. Assignment of the Mo(2)O(3) (-) spectrum is less definitive, but a O-Mo-O-Mo-O structure is more consistent with overall electronic structure observed in the spectrum. The PE spectrum of Mo(2)O(4) (-) shows cleanly resolved vibrational structure and electronic bands, and the EA of the corresponding Mo(2)O(4) is determined to be 2.13(4) eV. The structure most consistent with the observed spectrum has two oxygen bridge bonds between the Mo atoms.  相似文献

The title paper [1] reports ab initio calculations of the structure and molecular vibrations of 1,5-dinitronaphthalene. The calculations are unminimised, the molecular structure is wrong and the vibrational spectra are misinterpreted. These errors have been corrected and the vibrational spectra of 1,5-dinitronaphthalene have been reassigned in agreement with the optical and neutron spectroscopic data.  相似文献

The IR, resonance Raman (RR) and electronic spectra of two phenylazonaphthol pigments, LRC Scarlet and 4BL Red, have been measured and assignments of the vibrational and electronic spectra were facilitated by ab initio calculation s at the B3-LYP/DZ level. Vibrational spectra indicate that the major species in the solid state are the hydrazo tautomers. Electronic spectra are in accordance with the nature of the electronic transitions predicted by time-dependent B3-LYP/DZ calculations.  相似文献

Zero electron kinetic energy (ZEKE) spectroscopy is employed to gain information on the vibrational energy levels of the para-fluorotoluene (pFT) cation. Vibrationally resolved spectra are obtained following excitation through a range of intermediate vibrational energy levels in the S1 state. These spectra allow the observation of different cationic vibrational modes, whose assignment is achieved both from a knowledge of the S1 vibrational states and also by comparison with density functional calculations. In one notable case, clean ZEKE spectra were obtained from two overlapped S1 features. From the authors' data, the adiabatic ionization energy of pFT was derived as 70,946+/-4 cm(-1). The information on the cationic energy levels obtained will be useful in untangling the intramolecular vibrational redistribution dynamics of pFT in the S1 state.  相似文献

Anharmonicity corrections to the harmonic vibrational spectra of CHFClBr and its deuterated isotopomer were computed by means of variational and perturbational approaches. A comparison of both methods is provided. Based on CCSD(T)/aug-cc-pVTZ electronic structure calculations excellent agreement with experimental data was obtained. Absolute mean deviations are in the range of about 4 cm(-1) for the fundamental modes, while slightly larger values of about 7 cm(-1) were found for the first vibrational overtones. In addition, vibrationally averaged structural parameters are provided for both molecules. The calculations will serve as a future starting point for parity-violation effects in vibrational transitions in these chiral molecules.  相似文献

Mid-infrared vibrational unpolarised absorption and vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) spectra of CCl4 solutions of tert-butyl methyl sulfoxide (1) are reported. The spectra are compared to ab initio density functional theory (DFT) calculations carried out using two functionals, B3PW91 and B3LYP, and two basis sets, 6-31G* and TZ2P. The VCD spectra are calculated using Gauge-invariant atomic orbitals (GIAOs). The analysis of the VCD spectrum confirms the R(-)/S(+) absolute configuration of 1. The advantages and disadvantages of VCD spectroscopy in determining the absolute configurations of chiral sulfoxides are discussed.  相似文献
