For a Dirac particle in an Aharonov-Bohm (AB) potential, it is shown that the spin interaction (SI) operator which governs the transitions in the spin sector of the first order S-matrix is related to one of the generators of rotation in the spin space of the particle. This operator, which is given by the projection of the spin operator Σ along the direction of the total momentum of the system, and the two operators constructed from the projections of the Σ operator along the momentum transfer and the z-directions close the SU(2) algebra. It is suggested, then, that these two directions of the total momentum and the momentum transfer form some sort of natural intrinsic directions in terms of which the spin dynamics of the scattering process at first order can be formulated conveniently. A formulation and an interpretation of the conservation of helicity at first order using the spin projection operators along these directions is presented.  相似文献

We study linear stability of viscous flows in a squeeze lubrication film, in which the flow varies slowly in space and time, between two parallel plates moving normal to each other with a slow constant speed, generalizing the inviscid results of Aristov and Gitman [J. Fluid Mech. 464 (2002) 209]. The temporal evolution of twodimensional disturbances for this physical situation, including the asymptotic behaviour of a long term or the transient behaviour of some time interval, is obtained by the construction of a low-dimensional Galerkin method.It is found that the wall boundaries typically play dual roles of stabilizer and destabilizer. They constrain the development of disturbances and have stabilizing influences. However, they give rise to velocity shear, which is diffused by viscosity and thereby tends to destabilize the flow.  相似文献

The generalized Langevin equation is used to describe the motion of a charged particle interacting with a blackbody radiation field via dipole coupling. The exact expressions for the mean-square displacement and velocity of such a particle are obtained, which show a ballistic diffusion and a modified Kubo fluctuation-dissipation relation. In particular, a velocity-dependent coupling or force can induce this novel phenomenon.  相似文献

Nonlinear dynamics of the sliding process of a chain driven with a constant velocity at one end in a periodic substrate potential is investigated. The driven chain exhibits distinctly different dynamical characteristics at different velocities. In the low velocity region, the chain moves in a stick-slip manner. When the driving velocity is increased, the stick-slip behaviour is replaced by complicated and regular oscillatory motions. The dependence of the dynamics on the coupling strength is studied and the step-like behaviour is found, where different steps correspond to different dynamical phases.  相似文献

It is shown that in a Karman vortex street flow,particle size influences the dilute particle dispersion.Together with an increase of the particle size,there is an emergence of a period-doubling bifurcation to a chaotic orbit,as well as a decrease of the corresponding basins of attraction.A crisis leads the attractor to escape from the central region of flow.In the motion of dilute particles,a drag term and gravity term dominate and result in a bifurcation phenomenon.  相似文献

We propose a simple feedback cooling method, including both the component feedback and the velocity feedback,for cooling a charged particle pair in a Paul trap. It is found that the system can be cooled to periodic orbits;and if control intensity is strong, the system can be cooled to a one-periodic orbit, which is only in a horizontalplane. The result shows that the cooled system is also robust for noise.  相似文献

We investigate the noise-induced transport of Brownian particle in a deterministic spatial symmetrical periodic potential driven by colored cross correlation between a multiplicative white noise and an additive white noise. We derive the general formula of the stationary current. Based on numerical computation, we found that directed motion of the Brownian particles can be induced by the correlation time τ of cross correlation between the multiplicative noise and the additive noise and the current reversal and the direction of the current is controlled by the τ.  相似文献

The Josephson equations for a Bose Einstein Condensate gas trapped in a double-well potential are derived with the two-mode approximation by the Gross Pitaevskii equation. The dynamical characteristics of the equations are obtained by the numerical phase diagrams. The nonlinear self-trapping effect appeared in the phase diagrams are emphatically discussed, and the condition EcN 〉 4E3 is presented.  相似文献

Interfacial covalent bonding is an effective approach to increase the electrical resistance of a polymer–particle composite to charge flow and dielectric breakdown. A bifunctional tether reagent bonded to an inorganic oxide particle surface assists with particle dispersion within a thermosetting epoxy polymer matrix but then also reacts covalently with the polymer matrix. Bonding the particle surface to the polymer matrix resulted in a composite that maintained the pure polymer glass transition temperature, compared to modified or unmodified particle dispersions that lacked covalent bonding to the polymer matrix, which depressed the polymer glass transition to lower temperatures. The added interfacial control, directly bonding the particle to the polymer matrix, appears to prevent conductive percolation across particle surfaces that results in a reduced Maxwell–Wagner relaxation of the polymer–particle composite and a reduced sensitivity to a dielectric breakdown event. The inclusion of 5 vol% particles of higher permittivity produces a composite of enhanced dielectric constant and, with surface modification to permit surface cross-linking into the polymer, a polymer–particle composite with a Weibull E 0 dielectric breakdown strength of 25% greater than that of the pure polymer resulted. The estimated energy density for the cross-linked interface composite was improved 260% compared to the polymer alone, 560% better than a polymer–particle composite synthesized using bare particles, and 80% better than a polymer–particle composite utilizing bare particles with a dispersant.  相似文献

The effects of quantum electromagnetic fluctuations upon the motion of a test charged particle are examined in a cylindrical spacetime in which one spatial is compactified. The mean squared fluctuations in the velocity and position of the test particle are calculated. It is found that the random motion of the test particle will be anisotropic. The possible consequences for theories with extra compactified spatial dimensions are discussed.  相似文献

We examine the random motion of a charged test particle with a nonzero classical velocity driven by quantum electromagnetic vacuum fluctuations in a cylindrical spacetime and calculate both the velocity and position dispersions of the test particle. It is found that the dispersions display different behaviour in different directions. These differences can be understood as a result of the topology of the configuration and initial physical conditions.  相似文献

The detection of a particle in electromagnetic plus gravitational fields is investigated. We obtain a set of quantum nondemolition variables. The continuous measurements of these nondemolition parameters are analyzed in the framework of restricted path integral formalism. A criterion for formation of etchable tracks in solids is suggested using the well-known concepts of ionization and thermal spikes, diffusion process with useful and justified assumptions, and present or published experimental and theoretical investigations on the same subject.
