In this paper we calculate the equation of state (EOS) of QCD at zero temperature and finite chemical potential by using several models of quark propagators including the Dyson-Schwinger equations (DSEs) model, the hard-dense-loop (HDL) approximation and the quasi-particle model. The results are analyzed and compared with the known results in the literature.  相似文献

Chiral symmetry breaking at finite temperature is analysed in Coulomb gauge QCD, using a suitably renormalised gap equation. In Coulomb gauge the gap equation is derived using the Ward identities and the Dyson equations for the vector and axial-vector vertices. Making the ladder approximation to the Bethe-Salpeter kernel relates the chiral symmetry breaking parameters to the static quark potential. It is thus possible to use a confining potential in the analysis of chiral symmetry breaking. We extend this to finite temperature. For a confining potential there is no chiral symmetry restoration at any finite temperature.  相似文献

We study the phase diagram of two-flavor QCD at imaginary chemical potentials in the chiral limit. To this end we compute order parameters for chiral symmetry breaking and quark confinement. The interrelation of quark confinement and chiral symmetry breaking is analyzed with a new order parameter for the confinement phase transition. We show that it is directly related to both the quark density as well as the Polyakov loop expectation value. Our analytical and numerical results suggest a close relation between the chiral and the confinement phase transition.  相似文献

Using gauge/gravity duality, we study the potential energy and the melting of triply heavy baryon at finite temperature and chemical potential in this paper. First, we calculate the three-quark potential and compare the results with quark-antiquark potential. With the increase of temperature and chemical potential, the potential energy will decrease at large distances. It is found that the three-quark potential will have an endpoint at high temperature and/or large chemical potential, which means triply heavy baryons will melt at enough high temperature and/or large chemical potential. We also discuss screening distance which can be extracted from the three-quark potential. At last, we draw the melting diagram of triply heavy baryons in the begin{document}$ T-mu $end{document} plane.  相似文献

Quantum chromodynamics is studied at finite temperatures and densities using the temperature Green functions method. For the Green functions the renormalized Schwinger-Dyson equations are obtained and their qualitative properties are discussed. The equality of the renormalization constants for the equations obtained at T, μ ≠ 0 with those for quantum field theory is pointed out. General properties of the gluon polarization tensor are investigated at T, μ ≠ 0. The temperature Green functions are calculated within the one-loop approximation using both relativistic and axial gauges. The fulfilment of the Slavnov-Taylor identities is verified. The asymptotic behaviour of the polarization tensor at T, μ ≠ 0 is established and the excitation spectrum of quark-gluon plasma is found. Both Fermi and Bose excitations are considered and the gauge invariance of the spectra is demonstrated. The renormalization group extension of the dispersion laws into the regions of high temperatures and densities is presented. The exact representation of the thermodynamical potential in QCD is found in terms of the temperature Green functions. For the quark-gluon plasma the thermodynamical potential is calculated with the g3-term taken into account. The equation of state of the hot quark-gluon plasma is found and its properties are discussed. The complete evolutional diagram of the hadronic matter is outlined. The phase curve asymptotics, which put bounds on the quark-gluon plasma domain, are found for the two limiting cases (μ = 0, TT0; T = 0, μ → μ0). The phase transition of the hot quark-gluon plasma placed in external Abelian field is studied. The instability of such plasma has been found and the program of its stabilization is indicated. The infrared behaviour of the non-Abelian gauge theory is studied for finite temperatures when power divergencies are essential. The propagator of transverse gluons is shown to be singular for momenta |p| ˜ g2T and this cannot be avoided by summing the simplest bubble chains. The infrared asymptotic behaviour of the tree-gluon vertex is found and the results obtained are checked using the Slavnov-Taylor identities. The Green functions asymptotics found indicate either an instability of the quark-gluon plasma in the infrared momentum domain or the inconsistency of the perturbational methods. A non-perturbative approach to the infrared problem in QCD is developed within the axial gauge. The closed equations for the structure functions that determine the gluon polarization tensor are obtained by using the Slavnov-Taylor identities to found approximately the three-gluon vertex. It is shown that the solution of the equations obtained by iterations does not remove the infrared singularity from the temperature Green functions. The nonperturbative solution of such equations is discussed.  相似文献

We calculate for the first time the complex potential between a heavy quark and antiquark at finite temperature across the deconfinement transition in lattice QCD. The real and imaginary part of the potential at each separation distance r is obtained from the spectral function of the thermal Wilson loop. We confirm the existence of an imaginary part above the critical temperature T(C), which grows as a function of r and underscores the importance of collisions with the gluonic environment for the melting of heavy quarkonia in the quark-gluon plasma.  相似文献

By introducing the dressed Polayakov loop or dual chiral condensate as a candidate order parameter to describe the deconfinement phase transition for light flavors, we discuss the interplay between the chiral and deconfinement phase transitions, and propose the possible QCD phase diagram at finite temperature and density. We also introduce a dynamical gluodynamic model with dimension-2 gluon condensate, which can describe the color electric deconfinement as well as the color magnetic confinement.  相似文献

The behaviour of the fermion charge Q localized on soliton at finite temperature T and chemical potential α is investigated in the one-dimensional continuum model of the linear diatomic polymer. It is shown that the depletion of the fermion charge takes place when T and α tend to its critical values. In the case of the spinless trans-polyacetylene model and N = 1 Gross-Neveu model the discontinuity of the value of Q at αc is obtained whereas in the model φ4 with fermions the continuous transition to zero value of Q(α) occurs.  相似文献

Based on the experimental observation that there is a coexisting region between the antiferromagnetic (AF) and d-wave superconducting (dSC) phases, the influences of gauge boson mass m a on chiral symmetry restoration and deconfinement phase transitions in QED3 are investigated simultaneously within a unified framework, i.e., Dyson–Schwinger equations. The results show that the chiral symmetry restoration phase transition in the presence of the gauge boson mass m a is a typical second-order phase transition; the chiral symmetry restoration and deconfinement phase transitions are coincident; the critical number of fermion flavors N c f decreases as the gauge boson mass m a increases, which implies that there exists a boundary that separates the N c f m a plane into chiral symmetry breaking/confinement region for (N c f , m a ) below the boundary and chiral symmetry restoration/deconfinement region for (N c f , m a ) above it.  相似文献

We discuss the circumstances in which non-zero chemical potentials might prevent symmetry restoration in phase transitions in the early universe at grand unification or partial unification scales. The general arguments are illustrated by consideration of SO(10) and SU(5) grand unified theories.  相似文献

The skyrmion stability at finite isospin chemical potential μ_I is studied using the Skyrme Lagrangian with a finite pion mass m_π.A critical value μ_(Ic)=■,above which a stable soliton does not exist,is found. We also explore some properties of the skyrmion as function of i.e.,the isoscalar rms radius and the isoscalar magnetic rms radius. Finally, considering the finite temperature effect on the skyrmion mass,we obtain a critical temperature T_c,using the profile function of the skyrmion, above which the skyrmion mass does not have a minimum, which can be interpreted as the occurrence of the deconfinement phase transition.  相似文献

Finite energy and Laplace transform QCD sum rules atT0 are analyzed, and predictions for vacuum condensates are compared with the low temperature expansion of the energy density and pressure. Results show a serious disagreement which indicates a breakdown of the FESR programme already at dimension four, and which invalidates Laplace transform sum rules, at least in their straightforward extension to finite temperature.  相似文献

QCD at finite temperature and density is becoming increasingly important for various experimental programmes, ranging from heavy ion physics to astro-particle physics. The non-perturbative nature of non-abelian quantum field theories at finite temperature leaves lattice QCD as the only tool by which we may hope to come to reliable predictions from first principles. This requires careful extrapolations to the thermodynamic, chiral and continuum limits in order to eliminate systematic effects introduced by the discretization procedure. After an introduction to lattice QCD at finite temperature and density, its possibilities and current systematic limitations, a review of present numerical results is given. In particular, plasma properties such as the equation of state, screening masses, static quark free energies and spectral functions are discussed, as well as the critical temperature and the QCD phase structure at zero and finite density.  相似文献

We give further arguments to support the claim of Svetitsky and Yaffe that the finite-temperature transition in 4-dimensional SU(N) gauge theories is in the universality class of 3-dimensional ZN spin models. We show that this implies a smoothing out of the transition when quarks are added to the system as long as N ≠ 3. For N = 3 the pure gauge transition is expected to be first order and will be smoothed by quarks only if the quark contribution to the internal energy is larger than the latent heat of transition.  相似文献
