This paper focuses on the application of the large eddy simulation (LES) technique to a swirling particle-laden flow in a model combustion chamber. A series of calculations have been performed and compared directly with detailed experimental measurements. The computational domain identically matches the laboratory configuration, which effectively isolates effects related to dilute particle dispersion and momentum coupling. Results highlight the predictive capabilities of LES when implemented with the appropriate numerics, grid resolution (as dictated by the class of models employed) and well-defined boundary conditions. The case study provides a clearer understanding of the effectiveness and feasibility of current state-of-the-art models and a quantitative understanding of relevant modeling issues by analyzing the characteristic parameters and scales of importance. The novel feature of the results presented is that they establish a baseline level of confidence in our ability to simulate complex flows at conditions representative of those typically observed in gas-turbine (and similar) combustors. 相似文献

A subgrid scale two-phase second-order-moment (SGS-SOM) model based on the two-fluid continuum approach is presented for the analysis of the instantaneous flow structures of swirling and non-swirling coaxial-jet particle-laden turbulence flows. Since the interaction between the two-phase subgrid scale stresses and the anisotropy of two-phase subgrid scale stresses is fully considered, it is superior to the conventional subgrid scale model on the basis of single gas phase or together with their similar forms for the particle phase for not taken these characters thoroughly into account. The swirling numbers s=0.47 and s=0 of coaxial-jet particle-laden turbulence flows (measured by M. Sommerfeld, H.H. Qiu, Detailed measurements in a swirling particulate two-phase flow by a phase Doppler anemometer, Int. J. Heat Fluid Flow 12 (1991) 20-28) are numerically simulated by large eddy simulation using this model, together with a Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes model using the unified second-order-moment two-phase turbulence model (RANS-USM). The instantaneous results show that the multiple recirculating gas flow structure is similar to that of single-phase swirling flows; but the particle flow structure contains less vortices. Both SGS-SOM and RANS-USM predicted that the two-phase time-averaged velocities and the root-mean-square fluctuation velocities are validated and are in good agreement with the experimental results. It is seen that for the two-phase time-averaged velocities both the models give almost the same results, hence the RANS-USM modeling is validated by large eddy simulation. For the two-phase root-mean-square fluctuation velocities the SGS-SOM results are obviously better than the RANS-USM results. 相似文献

Well-dispersed nanoparticles with iron/iron carbide core and iron oxide shell structures may constitute an excellent magnetic material for different applications as magnetic nanofluids, contrast agents in magnetic resonance imaging, sensors and catalysts. Based on the ability of the CO2 laser pyrolysis technique to synthesize nanoparticles of the Fe/Fe2O3 core-shell type, we further improve the powder dispersion by first collecting the nanoparticles in a toluene bubbler, positioned downstream and prior to the collection filter. Structural characterisation of the samples by electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction was performed. Conditions in which clusters contain a reduced number of nanoparticles (around 50) are evidenced. Mean core-shell particle sizes of 15 nm were estimated. Finally, preliminary results on the morphology of iron/iron oxide core-shell nanoparticles as hydrocarbon-based magnetic nanofluids are presented. 相似文献

光子晶体光纤由于其灵活可调的色散特性用作色散补偿具有极大的应用潜力. 设计了一种色散补偿光子晶体光纤, 并运用频域有限差分法模拟了其色散特性,从理论上分析了其结构参数孔间距Λ和空气占空比d/Λ对该光子晶体光纤的色散系数的影响, 并且实际制备出了3种不同结构参数的光子晶体光纤. 通过对其色散曲线对比分析表明: 当光子晶体光纤孔间距在1 μm附近时, 其色散系数随着孔间距Λ和占空比d/Λ的增大而增加, 但对于孔间距Λ的变化比占空比d/Λ更为敏感, 并且随着孔间距Λ的增加,其对色散系数的影响能力逐渐减小. 设计并制备的光子晶体光纤在1550 nm处的色散系数为-241.5 ps·nm-1·km-1, 相对色散斜率为0.0018, 具有较好的色散补偿能力.

In this paper, the effect of making swirling flow inside an annulus on the subcooled boiling heat transfer has been studied and discussed both experimentally and numerically. The Eulerian-Eulerian model and control volume technique have been used for numerical modeling of the problem. The experimental results show that the critical heat flux values are enhanced by making swirling flow. The experimental and numerical results also indicate that by making swirling flow inside the annulus, the subcooled boiling heat transfer coefficients are increased. Moreover, the experimental and numerical values of the boiling heat transfer coefficients show good agreement with each other. 相似文献

用阶梯近似的方法分析任意槽形加载的圆波导慢波系统,利用各阶梯相邻面的导纳匹配条件 以及中心互作用区与加载区的场匹配条件,获得了任意槽形加载周期慢波结构的统一色散方 程. 利用该色散方程,得到色散特性与CST MWS仿真软件模拟结果良好符合. 分别求解几种 特殊槽形加载慢波结构的色散特性及耦合阻抗,其中,三角形结构色散和耦合阻抗均最弱, 而倒梯形结构色散最强,耦合阻抗最大.

Considering the optical stability of solution, the sugar-solution is infused into the outer core ring of dual-concentric-core photonic crystal fiber (DCCPCF). The influences of structure parameters and solution concentration on the phase and loss matching are comprehensively analyzed. By choosing the appropriate outer core mode to completely couple with the inner core fundamental mode, the large negative dispersion PCF around 1.55 μm is designed, which has the dispersion value of − 39,500 ps/km/nm as well as bandwidth of 7.4 nm and effective mode area of 28.3 μm2. The designed PCF with hybrid cladding structure can effectively compensate the positive dispersion of conventional single mode fiber, and suppress the system perturbation caused by a series of nonlinear effects. Considering the mode field mismatching between the DCCPCF and the tapered fiber, the calculated connection loss around 1.55 μm is below 3 dB. In addition, the equivalent propagation constants of two leaky modes are deduced from the coupled-mode theory, and the complete mode coupling case can be well predicted by comparing the real and imaginary parts of propagation constants. 相似文献

利用线性组合算符和幺正变换的方法,研究声子色散对磁场中抛物量子点弱耦合磁极化子性质的影响.计及LO声子色散,在抛物近似下导出了基态能量与量子点有效受限长度、声子色散系数、磁场强度以及耦合强度之间的关系.我们可以得到在弱耦合情况下抛物量子点中磁极化子的基态能量E0随量子点有效受限长度l0、电子声子耦合常数α和声子色散系数γ的增大而减小,随磁场回旋频率ωc增大而增大.自陷能Eotr随声子色散系数γ增大而增大. 相似文献

AbstractOxide nanoparticles are quintessential for ensuring the extraordinary properties of oxide dispersion strengthened (ODS) steels. In this study, the crystallographic structure of oxide nanoparticles, and their interface with the ferritic steel matrix in an Al-alloyed ODS steel, i.e. PM2000, were systematically investigated by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. The majority of oxide nanoparticles were identified to be orthorhombic YAlO3. During hot consolidation and extrusion, they develop a coherent interface and a near cuboid-on-cube orientation relationship with the ferrite matrix in the material. After annealing at 1200 °C for 1 h, however, the orientation relationship between the oxide nanoparticles and the matrix becomes arbitrary, and their interface mostly incoherent. Annealing at 1300 °C leads to considerable coarsening of oxide nanoparticles, and a new orientation relationship of pseudo-cube-on-cube between oxide nanoparticles and ferrite matrix develops. The reason for the developing interfaces and orientation relationships between oxide nanoparticles and ferrite matrix under different conditions is discussed. 相似文献

The analytic surface plasmon polaritons(SPPs) dispersion relation is studied in a system consisting of a thin metallic film bounded by two sides media of nonlinear dielectric of arbitrary nonlinearity is studied by applying a generalised first integral approach.We consider both asymmetric and symmetric structures.Especially,in the symmetric system,two possible modes can exist:the odd mode and the even mode.The dispersion relations of the two modes are obtained.Due to the nonlinear dielectric,the magnitude of the electric field at the interface appears and alters the dispersion relations.The changes in SPPs dispersion relations depending on film thicknesses and nonlinearity are studied. 相似文献

The ab initio calculations are carried out to investigate the effect of hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen terminations on the properties of the band edge and the values of the band-gap, as well as the oscillator strength of the silicon nanonets (SiNNs). The oxygen functional groups are found to effectively preserve the direct band-gap nature of the SiNNs, and even change the luminescence properties of the silicon nanowires (SiNWs) to the direct band-gap transition. The appreciable oscillator strength of the first direct transition is obtained for the oxygen terminated nanostructure. The study on the electronic states indicates that the variation of the band edge caused by the surface terminations is attributed to the change of the state compositions. These surface modifications are thought to be useful for silicon band-gap engineering in the area of optoelectronics. 相似文献

本文建立了Chodorow型耦合腔慢波结构的解析模型, 利用并矢格林函数结合矩量法求解了场匹配方程, 给出了色散方程和耦合阻抗的计算式, 并数值计算出一个X波段Chodorow型慢波结构的高频特性. 结果表明, 本文方法的色散特性以及耦合阻抗与仿真软件HFSS计算的结果有很好的一致性, 且计算效率更高, 同时精度远高于等效电路法, 对工程设计有好的参考价值.

Born-Oppenheimer breakdown effects and hyperfine structure in the rotational spectra of SbF and SbCl

Pure rotational spectra have been measured for the ground electronic states of SbF and SbCl. The molecules were prepared by laser ablation of Sb metal in the presence of SF6 or Cl2, respectively. Their spectra were measured with a cavity pulsed jet Fourier transform microwave spectrometer. Although both molecules have two unpaired electrons, they are subject to Hund’s coupling case (c), and have X10+ ground states. The spectra have been interpreted with the formalism of 1Σ+ molecules. For both molecules spectra of several isotopomers have been measured in the ground and first excited vibrational states. Large hyperfine splittings attributable to both nuclear quadrupole coupling and nuclear spin-rotation coupling have been observed. A Dunham-type analysis has produced unusually large Born-Oppenheimer breakdown parameters, which are interpreted in terms of the electronic structures of the molecules. 相似文献

A free particle is constrained to move on a knot obtained by winding around a putative torus. The classical equations of motion for this system are solved in a closed form. The exact energy eigenspectrum, in the thin torus limit, is obtained by mapping the time-independent Schrödinger equation to the Mathieu equation. In the general case, the eigenvalue problem is described by the Hill equation. Finite-thickness corrections are incorporated perturbatively by truncating the Hill equation. Comparisons and contrasts between this problem and the well-studied problem of a particle on a circle (planar rigid rotor) are performed throughout. 相似文献

Three different statistical measures of complexity are explored for the atoms He to Ra. The measures are analysed in both position and momentum spaces.
