A proximity effect in an s-wave superconductor/ferromagnet (SC/F) junction is theoretically studied using the second order perturbation theory for the tunneling Hamiltonian and Green's function method. We calculate a pair amplitude induced by the proximity effect in a weak ferromagnetic metal (FM) and a half-metal (HM). In the SC/FM junction, it is found that a spin-singlet pair amplitude (Ψs) and spin-triplet pair amplitude (Ψt) are induced in FM and both amplitudes depend on the frequency in the Matsubara representation. Ψs is an even function and Ψt is an odd function with respect to the Matsubara frequency (ωn). In the SC/HM junction, we examine the proximity effects by taking account of magnon excitations in HM. It is found that the triplet-pair correlation is induced in HM. The induced pair amplitude in HM shows a damped oscillation as a function of the position and contains the terms of even and odd functions of ωn as in the case of the SC/FM junction. We discuss that in our tunneling model the pair amplitude of even function of ωn only contributes to a Josephson current.  相似文献

We analyze the Josephson effect between a conventional and a non-centrosymmetric superconductor to examine characteristic features of such junctions and the symmetry of the superconducting phases. As a concrete example, we consider the non-centrosymmetric superconductor CePt3Si where Rashba spin-orbit coupling plays a crucial role and affects the Josephson pair tunneling. In this case, the Josephson coupling is composed of two parts, spin-singlet-like and spin-triplet-like components. The triplet-like component can lead to a Josephson coupling shifted by π relative to the singlet-like coupling. This has important implications on the interference effects and may explain some recent experimental results for the Al/CePt3Si junction.  相似文献

Using a general expression for dc Josephson current, we study the Josephson effect in ballistic superconductor (SC)/ferromagnetic semiconductor (FS)/SC junctions, in which the mismatches of the effective mass and Fermi velocity between the FS and SC, spin polarization P in the FS, as well as strengths of potential scattering Z at the interfaces are included. It is shown that in the coherent regime, the oscillatory dependences of the maximum Josephson current on the FS layer thickness L and Josephson current on the macroscopic phase difference φ for the heavy and light holes, resulting from the spin splitting energy gained or lost by a quasiparticle Andreev-reflected at the FS/SC interface, are much different due to the different mismatches in the effective mass and Fermi velocity between the FS and the SC, which is related to the crossovers between positive (0) and negative (π) couplings or equivalently 0 and π junctions. Also, we find that, for the same reason, Z and P are required not to surpass different critical values for the Josephson currents of the heavy and light holes. Furthermore, it is found that, for the dependence of the Josephson current on φ, regardless of how L,Z, and P change, the Josephson junctions do not transit between 0 and π junctions for the light hole.  相似文献

The effect of bias voltage on electron tunneling across a junction with a ferroelectric-ferromagnetic composite barrier is investigated theoretically. Because of the inversion symmetry breaking of the spontaneous ferroelectric polarization, bias voltage dependence of the electron tunneling shows significant differences between the positive bias and the negative one. The differences of spin filtering or tunnel magnetoresistance increase with the increasing absolute value of bias voltage. Such direction preferred electron tunneling is found intimately related with the unusual asymmetry of the electrical potential profile in two-phase composite barrier and provides a unique change to realize rectifying functions in spintronics.  相似文献

We study the Josephson effect in the superconductor/diffusive half metal/superconductor junctions by using the recursive Green function method. In the presence of spin-flip scatterings at the interface, odd-frequency spin-triplet Cooper pairs penetrate deeply into a half metal and carry Josephson current. The critical Josephson current increases with decreasing temperatures near the transition temperature. At low temperatures, however, the critical current decreases with decreasing temperatures. Such reentrant behavior is unusual in the case of s-wave superconductor junctions. The penetration of odd-frequency pairs modifies quasiparticle density of states in a half metal near the Fermi energy, which is responsible for the nonmonotonic temperature dependence of critical Josephson current.  相似文献

We analyze the discrete nonlinear Schrödinger equation with a saturable nonlinearity through the (G/G)-expansion method to present some improved results. Three types of analytic solutions with arbitrary parameters are constructed; hyperbolic, trigonometric, and rational which have not been explicitly computed before.  相似文献

The magnetoresistance (MR) effect is theoretically investigated in a periodic magnetically modulated nanostructure, which can be realized experimentally by depositing periodic parallel ferromagnetic strips on the top of a heterostructure. We find that there exists a significant conductance difference for electrons through the parallel (P) and antiparallel (AP) magnetization configurations, which results in a considerable magnetoresistance effect. We also find that the magnetoresistance effect depends not only on the temperature but also on the number of the periodic magnetic barriers.  相似文献

Recently, the (2+1)-dimensional modified Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (mKP) equation was decomposed into two known (1+1)-dimensional soliton equations by Dai and Geng [H.H. Dai, X.G. Geng, J. Math. Phys. 41 (2000) 7501]. In the present paper, a systematic and simple method is proposed for constructing three kinds of explicit N-fold Darboux transformations and their Vandermonde-like determinants’ representations of the two known (1+1)-dimensional soliton equations based on their Lax pairs. As an application of the Darboux transformations, three explicit multi-soliton solutions of the two (1+1)-dimensional soliton equations are obtained; in particular six new explicit soliton solutions of the (2+1)-dimensional mKP equation are presented by using the decomposition. The explicit formulas of all the soliton solutions are also expressed by Vandermonde-like determinants which are remarkably compact and transparent.  相似文献

We study planar waves in a circulating, draining fluid flow, which: (i) exhibit an analogue of the Aharonov-Bohm (AB) effect in Quantum Mechanics; (ii) obey a Klein-Gordon equation on an ‘effective spacetime’ which resembles the Kerr spacetime of General Relativity; and (iii) may be observed in the laboratory using gravity waves in a shallow basin. We describe a modified AB effect which depends on two dimensionless parameters, associated with the circulation α and draining β rates; we call this the ‘αβ effect’. We show that the αβ effect is inherently asymmetric even in the low-frequency limit, and that it leads to novel interference patterns which carry the signature of both rotation and absorption.  相似文献

A quantum neutral particle, constrained to move on a conical surface, is used as a toy model to explore bound states due to both a inverse squared distance potential and a δ-function potential, which appear naturally in the model. These pathological potentials are treated with the self-adjoint extension method which yields the correct boundary condition (not necessarily a null wavefunction) at the origin. We show that the usual boundary condition requiring that the wavefunction vanishes at the origin is arbitrary and drastically reduces the number of bound states if used. The situation studied here is closely related to the problem of a dipole moving in conical space.  相似文献

We theoretically investigate the electron transport properties in a non-magnetic heterostructure with both Dresselhaus and Rashba spin-orbit interactions. The detailed-numerical results show that (1) the large spin polarization can be achieved due to Dresselhaus and Rashba spin-orbit couplings induced splitting of the resonant level, although the magnetic field is zero in such a structure, (2) the Rashba spin-orbit coupling plays a greater role on the spin polarization than the Dresselhaus spin-orbit interaction does, and (3) the transmission probability and the spin polarization both periodically change with the increase of the well width.  相似文献

In recent years the interest around the study of anomalous relaxation and diffusion processes is increased due to their importance in several natural phenomena. Moreover, a further generalization has been developed by introducing time-fractional differentiation of distributed order which ranges between 0 and 1. We refer to accelerating processes when the driving power law has a changing-in-time exponent whose modulus tends from less than 1 to 1, and to decelerating processes when such an exponent modulus decreases in time moving away from the linear behaviour. Accelerating processes are modelled by a time-fractional derivative in the Riemann-Liouville sense, while decelerating processes by a time-fractional derivative in the Caputo sense. Here the focus is on the accelerating case while the decelerating one is considered in the companion paper. After a short reminder about the derivation of the fundamental solution for a general distribution of time-derivative orders, we consider in detail the triple-order case for both accelerating relaxation and accelerating diffusion processes and the exact results are derived in terms of an infinite series of H-functions. The method adopted is new and it makes use of certain properties of the generalized Mittag-Leffler function and the H-function, moreover it provides an elegant generalization of the method introduced by Langlands (2006) [T.A.M. Langlands, Physica A 367 (2006) 136] to study the double-order case of accelerating diffusion processes.  相似文献

Following Yamauchi’s study [A. Yamauchi, J. Tanimoto, A. Hagishima, H. Sagara, Dilemma game structure observed in traffic flow at a 2-to-1 lane junction, Physical Review E 79 (2009) 036104], we find that several social dilemma structures are represented by n-person Prisoner’s Dilemma (n-PD) games in certain traffic flow phases at a bottleneck caused by a lane-closing section. In this study, the stochastic Nishinari-Fukui-Schadschneider (S-NFS) model was adopted as a cellular automaton traffic model. In the system, two classes of driver-agents coexist: C-Agents (cooperative strategy) always driving in the first lane, and D-Agents (defective strategy) trying to drive in a lower-density lane, whether the first or the second lane. In relatively high-density flow phases, such as the metastable phase and the high-density phase, we found n-PD games, where D-Agents’ interruption into the first lane from the second just before the lane-closing section creates a heavier traffic jam, which reduces social efficiency. This could be solved by decreasing the interruption probability, which can be realized by a provision where drivers in the first lane firmly refuse interruptions.  相似文献

In this study, a phase-change memory device was fabricated and the origin of device failure mode was examined using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). Ge2Sb2Te5 (GST) was used as the active phase-change material in the memory device and the active pore size was designed to be 0.5 m. After the programming signals of more than 2×106 cycles were repeatedly applied to the device, the high-resistance memory state (reset) could not be rewritten and the cell resistance was fixed at the low-resistance state (set). Based on TEM and EDS studies, Sb excess and Ge deficiency in the device operating region had a strong effect on device reliability, especially under endurance-demanding conditions. An abnormal segregation and oxidation of Ge also was observed in the region between the device operating and inactive peripheral regions. To guarantee an data endurability of more than 1×1010 cycles of PRAM, it is very important to develop phase-change materials with more stable compositions and to reduce the current required for programming.  相似文献

We explore the pattern of frequency-dependent linear and non-linear optical (NLO) response of one electron quantum dots harmonically confined in two dimensions. For some fixed values of transverse magnetic field strength (ωc), and harmonic confinement potential (ω0), the influence of effective mass (m*) of the system and the symmetry breaking anharmonic interaction on the frequency-dependent linear (α), and the first (β), and second (γ) NLO responses of the dot is computed through linear variational route. The investigation reveals interesting roles played by the anharmonic interaction and effective mass in modulating the response properties.  相似文献

Anomalous X-ray diffraction was used for the investigation of shape and chemical composition of self-organized PbSe quantum dots covered by PbEuTe capping layers. From reciprocal-space maps of diffracted intensities measured at two energies of the primary radiation, we discriminated the contributions of the dot volumes and the surrounding crystal lattice to the diffracted intensity. We have found that the presence of Eu atoms suppresses the flattening of the dots during their overgrowth.  相似文献

The su(2|1) coherent-state path-integral representation of the partition function of the t-J model of strongly correlated electrons is derived at finite doping. The emergent effective action is compared to the one proposed earlier on phenomenological grounds by Shankar to describe holes in an antiferromagnet [R. Shankar, Nucl. Phys. B 330 (1990) 433]. The t-J model effective action is found to have an important “extra” factor with no analogue in Shankar?s action. It represents the local constraint of no double electron occupancy and reflects the rearrangement of the underlying phase-space manifold due to the presence of strong electron correlation. This important ingredient is shown to be essential to describe the physics of strongly correlated electron systems.  相似文献

We apply the factorization technique developed by Kuru and Negro [Ann. Phys. 323 (2008) 413] to study complex classical systems. As an illustration we apply the technique to study the classical analogue of the exactly solvable PT symmetric Scarf II model, which exhibits the interesting phenomenon of spontaneous breakdown of PT symmetry at some critical point. As the parameters are tuned such that energy switches from real to complex conjugate pairs, the corresponding classical trajectories display a distinct characteristic feature — the closed orbits become open ones.  相似文献
