We investigate the effect of Gaussian acoustic nanocavities in a narrow constriction on ballistic phonon transport through a semiconductor nanowire at low temperatures. When the transverse width of acoustic nanocavities takes a Gaussian function, it is found that the resonant peaks and band gaps in transmission spectra are obvious, indicating that the system has selective transmission and filters actions for ballistic phonons. The number and length of nanocavities have significant effects on the phonon transmission and thermal conductance. The results are compared with those in uniform width acoustic nanocavities. The Gaussian acoustic nanocavities are therefore a promising phononic device to manipulate ballistic phonons in nanophononics.  相似文献

We investigate the phonon transmission and thermal conductance in a general Fibonacci quasicrystal by the model of lattice dynamics and the technique of transfer matrix. It is found that quasiperiodic distribution of masses may greatly destroy the phonon transport at both low and high frequencies and thus may affect the thermal conductance. The thermal conductance increases with temperature at low temperatures and displays saturation with further increase of the temperature. Such saturation behaviour is preserved even when the mass ratio of atoms in the Fibonacci chain is changed.  相似文献

A magnon-phonon interaction model is developed on the basis of a two-dimensional square Heisenberg ferromagnetic system. By using Matsubara Green function theory we studied the transverse and longitudinal acoustic phonon dampings and calculated the transverse and longitudinal acoustic phonon damping curves on the main symmetric point and line in the first Brillouin zone. It is found that on the line Δ there is no damping for transverse acoustic phonon and on the line Z there is no damping for longitudinal acoustic phonon. In the first Brillouin zone the damping of transverse acoustic phonons is at least one order larger than that of longitudinal acoustic phonons. The influences of various parameters on transverse and longitudinal acoustic phonon dampings are discussed and the lifetime and the density of state of transverse and longitudinal acoustic phonons are explored as well according to the relation of the phonon damping and its lifetime and the relation of the phonon damping and its density of state.  相似文献

We study the acoustic-phonon transmission spectra in periodic and quasiperiodic (Fibonacci type) superlattices made up from the III-V nitride materials AlN and GaN. The phonon dynamics is described by a coupled elastic and electromagnetic equations within the static field approximation model, stressing the importance of the piezoelectric polarization field in a strained condition. We use a transfer-matrix treatment to simplify the algebra, which would be otherwise quite complicated, allowing a neat analytical expressions for the phonon transmission coefficients. Numerical results, for the normal incidence case, show a strike self-similar pattern for both hexagonal (class 6 mm) and cubic symmetries crystalizations of the nitrides.  相似文献

提出了一维广义Fibonacci准周期结构的声子晶体模型. 对弹性波通过该一维准周期结构声子晶体的透射系数进行数值计算,并与周期结构和标准Fibonacci准周期结构声子晶体的透射系数进行比较. 结果表明,利用一维广义Fibonacci准周期结构的声子晶体可获得比周期结构和标准Fibonacci准周期结构声子晶体更大的带隙范围,同时在带隙内有更丰富的局域模式存在. 对局域模性质的研究有助于声波或弹性波滤波器的制作. 关键词: 广义Fibonacci准周期结构 声子晶体 局域化  相似文献

运用散射矩阵方法,研究了Neumann边界条件和Dirichlet边界条件在低温下对结构不连续的纳米结构中的声学声子输运系数的影响.数值结果表明,当边界条件不同时,声学声子输运系数会有极大的不同;在一定的结构条件下,由于声子模与模的耦合作用,出现了共振透射和禁止频带.  相似文献

The problem of weak localization of acoustic phonon modes in a nonideal chain-type crystal lattice is studied. An expression is obtained for the diffusion coefficient tensor D. The role of the back coherent scattering processes is investigated. It is established that on account of such processes a substantial renormalization of the diffusion coefficient D can occur in the relatively low-frequency range, where the dispersion laws for phonon modes exhibit quasi-one-dimensional properties.  相似文献

The Brillouin scattering spectra of KH2PO4 under an applied uniaxial stress have been studied in the neighborhood of the ferroelectric transition. Dependence of shear acoustic phonon on the uniaxial stress is similar to dependence on electric field. The acoustic phonon is overdamped near Tc, but become underdamped under the applied shear stress. In the case of ΔT(= TTc) < ~ 0.05 K, application of stress caused a transition not to have any soft acoustic phonon.  相似文献

A transfer-matrix formalism is employed to study optical-phonon transport in a macroscopic continuum model for both periodic and Fibonacci polar-semiconductor superlattices. A phonon bandgap with subband structures is obtained for the periodic superlattices. However, in the Fibonacci superlattices, there is a spectrum trifurcation and self-similarity. The LO phonon localization length is calculated from which we confirm the existence of complete exponential localization of LO phonons.  相似文献

We have investigated the nonohmic resistivity of a nondegenerate semiconductor in quantizing magnetic fields for the case where acoustic phonons are the dominant scattering mechanism. The type of I-V characteristics found depends upon which of three mechanism are dominant. The three mechanisms are due to collisional broadening, inelasticities due to the finite phonon energy and phonon drag. When collistion broadening is important, the nonlinearities in the current voltage characteristic arise only from electron heating, while when the inelasticities are dominant, there is also an intrinsic nonlinearity in the characteristic. Finally, when phonon drag is dominant, high frequency acoustoelectric amplification will occur when the Hall velocity exceeds the sound velocity, i.e. VH > S.For the case where inelasticities dominate, a region of negative differential resistance is obtained that should persist even when there is considerable optical phonon scattering.  相似文献

Using the scattering matrix method, we investigate acoustic phonon transmission and thermal conductance in a four-perpendicularity-bend quantum waveguide at low temperatures. The transmission spectrum of the quantum waveguide displays a series of resonant peaks and dips; and when one of the bend heights is larger than or equal to the minimum of the dimensions of the phonon channel in the quantum waveguide, a stop-frequency gap will appear; and some single four-perpendicularity-bend quantum waveguides with larger bend heights exhibit narrower width or smaller number of the stop-frequency gaps than that with smaller bend heights. The thermal conductivity is much sensitive to the change of the smaller heights and longitudinal lengths of the bend section; and the thermal conductivity decreases with the increasing of the temperature first, then increases after it reaches a minimum. The investigations of multiple four-perpendicularity-bend waveguides connected in series indicate that the first additional waveguide suppresses the transmission coefficient and forms the stop-frequency gap; and two additional resonance peaks will be formed when each four-perpendicularity-bend waveguide is added in the series. The results could be useful for controlling thermal conductance artificially and the design of phonon devices.  相似文献

We show that while narrow channel (quantum wire) transistors may not exhibit higher unity gain frequency or switching speed than wide channel (quantum well) transistors, they may none the less possess vastly improved noise characteristics. Thus, they are desirable if the application calls for maximal signal-to-noise ratio. The reduced noise temperature in quasi-one-dimensional channels is mostly an aftermath of acoustic phonon confinement (which modifies the phonon dispersion relations), rather than carrier confinement. This is very counter-intuitive since acoustic phonon confinement (and the resultant modification of the phonon dispersion relations) also increases carrier scattering rates by several orders of magnitude.  相似文献

利用非平衡格林函数方法研究了石墨纳米带中三空穴错位分布对热输运性质的影响.研究结果发现:三空穴竖直并排结构对低频声子的散射较小,导致低温区域三空穴竖直并排时热导最大,而在高频区域,三空穴竖直并排结构对高频声子的散射较大,导致较高温度区域三空穴竖直并排时热导最小;三空穴的相对错位分布仅能较大幅度地调节面内声学模高频声子的透射概率,而三空穴的相对错位分布能较大幅度地调节垂直振动膜高频声子和低频声子的透射概率,导致三空穴的相对错位分布不仅能大幅调节面内声学模和垂直振动模的高温热导,也能大幅调节垂直振动模的低温热导.研究结果阐明了空穴位置不同的石墨纳米带的热导特性,为设计基于石墨纳米带的热输运量子器件提供了有效的理论依据.  相似文献

为有效控制噪声并进行声波调控,构造了双锥区域为TC4钛合金、节点区域为硫化橡胶的六边形排列双锥五模材料,进行能带分析发现其具有较窄的低频声子带隙和单模传输区域。为提高五模材料的低频声波调控性能,设计了正方形和三角形排列构型,结果表明三角形排列的双锥五模材料带隙的频率更低,带宽更宽,且具有单模传输性能和较好的五模特性。此外分别探究了五模材料构型的材料参数(包括双锥区和节点区的密度、泊松比和杨氏模量)以及几何参数(包括双锥宽和节点半径的变化)对带隙及单模传输区域的影响,得到带隙和单模传输区的变化规律,选择密度较轻的填充材料、较小的双锥宽和较大的节点半径不仅可以提高低频声波调控性能,而且可以降低结构质量,提高结构的稳定性。该文结果对用于低频声波传播调控的五模材料的构型和参数的设计具有一定的借鉴意义。  相似文献

In this study, we extend a fully exact Green’s function formalism to calculate the phonon transmission coefficient in a short simulated chain. We obtain new analytical formulas for a uniform-mass and periodic-mass chain. The results for a simple chain show that the resonance peak will be appeared without gap but for the periodic chain the transmission coefficient contains a gap in the acoustic band of leads.  相似文献

In an effort to understand why short wavelength (~1000 nm) GaAs-based photonic crystal slab nanocavities have much lower quality factors (Q) than predicted (and observed in Si), many samples were grown, fabricated into nanocavities, and studied by atomic force, transmission electron, and scanning electron microscopy as well as optical spectroscopy. The top surface of the AlGaAs sacrificial layer can be rough even when the top of the slab is smooth; growth conditions are reported that reduce the AlGaAs roughness by an order of magnitude, but this had little effect on Q. The removal of the sacrificial layer by hydrogen fluoride can leave behind a residue; potassium hydroxide completely removes the residue, resulting in higher Qs.  相似文献

High resolution Raman spectra of ice Ih single crystal in the frequency range 0–30 cm?1 are reported, at various temperatures. For the first time evidence is given for the existence of a Lorentzian central component in all scattering configurations. A polarization analysis of the spectra clearly shows that the central mode cannot be ascribed to the high frequency tails of the Brillouin doublet, nor to the disorder induced phonon background even accounting for renormalization of the phonon propagator. The epectral features indicate the existence of a direct coupling between the light and some relaxation mechanism of the crystal.A model is suggested to account for the excess scattering and for the activation of the acoustic phonon density of states.  相似文献

在二维正方Heisenberg铁磁系统的基础上建立了磁振子-声子相互作用模型. 利用松原格林函数理论研究了系统的声子衰减,计算了布里渊区的主要对称点线上的声子衰减曲线. 发现在第一布里渊区,在Δ线上,横向声频支声子无衰减,在Z线上,纵向声频支声子无衰减;横向声频支声子衰减比纵向声频支声子衰减至少大一个数量级,并讨论了各项参数的变化对横向声频支声子衰减与纵向声频支声子衰减的影响. 根据声子衰减与声子寿命的关系,声子衰减与声子态密度的关系,可以讨论横向声频支声子与纵向声频支声子的寿命与态密度. 关键词: 磁振子-声子相互作用 横向声频支声子衰减 纵向声频支声子衰减 声子寿命  相似文献
