In this paper we define the tensor products of completely positive linear maps between pro-C*-algebras and discuss about connection between the KSGNS construction associated with the strict completely positive linear maps ρ and θ and the KSGNS construction associated with ρ ⊗ θ. This research was partially supported by CEEX grant -code PR-D11-PT00-48/2005 from The Romanian Ministry of Education and Research and partially by CNCSIS (Romanian National Council for Research in High Education) grant-code A 1065/2006.  相似文献

Let A be a unital C*-algebra with non-zero socle (soc(A)). We introduce the essential conorm of an element a in A (denoted by γ e (a)), as the conorm of the element π(a), where π denotes the canonical projection of A onto . It is established that for every von Neumann regular element , γ e (a) = max . We characterize the continuity points of the conorm and essential conorm for extremally rich C*-algebras. Some formulae for the distance from zero to the generalized spectrum and Atkinson spectrum are also obtained. Authors partially supported by I+D MEC projects no. Let be a C*-algebra and X a Hilbert C* -module. If is a projection, let be the p-sphere of X. For φ a state of with support p in and consider the modular vector state φx of given by The spheres provide fibrations
and
These fibrations enable us to examine the homotopy type of the sets of modular vector states, and relate it to the homotopy type of unitary groups and spaces of projections. We regard modular vector states as generalizations of pure states to the context of Hilbert C*-modules, and the above fibrations as generalizations of the projective fibration of a Hilbert space.  相似文献

Let B be a JBW*-triple, let A be a JB*-subtriple of B and let be the set of range tripotents relative to A. It is shown that, under certain conditions, the supremum of a family of range tripotents in coincides with that in the complete lattice of all tripotents in B. As a consequence, a sufficient condition for a tripotent to be a range tripotent relative to A is obtained. The action of isomorphisms on range tripotents is investigated, and an analysis of the suprema of families of spectral range tripotents leads to a generalization of a result known for open projections in W*-algebras. In this paper, we compute certain invariants of extension algebras of the torus algebra by , where is the C*-algebra of compact operators on an infinite dimensional separable Hilbert space H. These extension algebras are also constructed up to isomorphism. Received: 5 July 2007, Revised: 14 February 2008  相似文献

We show that two C*-algebraic noncommutative tori are strongly Morita equivalent if and only if they have isomorphic ordered K 0-groups and centers, extending N. C. Phillips’s result in the case that the algebras are simple. This is also generalized to the twisted group C*-algebras of arbitrary finitely generated abelian groups. We study representations of numerical semigroups ∑ by isometries on Hilbert space with commuting range projections. Our main theorem says that each such representation is unitarily equivalent to the direct sum of a representation by unitaries and a finite number of multiples of particular concrete representations by isometries. We use our main theorem to identify the faithful representations of the C*-algebra C*(∑) generated by a universal isometric representation with commuting range projections, and also prove a structure theorem for C*(∑). In this short note we give some techniques for constructing, starting from asufficient family ℱ of semifinite or finite traces on a von Neumann algebraM, a new trace which is faithful.  相似文献

We characterize families of vector measures of uniformly bounded variation and semivariation in terms of additivity properties. A classical theorem of Rickart and a simplified proof of Nikodym’s boundedness theorem follow. This paper studies several combinatorial problems arising from finding the conserved genes of two genomes (i.e., the entire DNA of two species). The input is a collection of n maximal common substrings of the two genomes. The problem is to find, based on different criteria, a subset of such common substrings with maximum total length. The most basic criterion requires that the common substrings selected have the same ordering in the two genomes and they do not overlap among themselves in either genome. To capture mutations (transpositions and reversals) between the genomes, we do not insist the substrings selected to have the same ordering. Conceptually, we allow one ordering to go through some mutations to become the other ordering. If arbitrary mutations are allowed, the problem of finding a maximum-length, non-overlapping subset of substrings is found to be NP-hard. However, arbitrary mutations probably overmodel the problem and are likely to find more noise than conserved genes. We consider two criteria that attempt to model sparse and non-overlapping mutations. We show that both can be solved in polynomial time using dynamic programming.   相似文献

Versions of the Birman-Schwinger principle for (relative) trace class perturbation problems of dissipative operators in a semi-finite von Neumann algebra and self-adjoint operators affiliated with the algebra are obtained and applied in the study of the spectral shift function.   相似文献

The first author introduced an integration theory of vector functions with respect to an operator-valued measure in complete bornological locally convex vector spaces. In this paper some important results behind this Dobrakov-type integration technique in non-metrizable spaces are given. Received: December 10, 2007., Accepted: May 6, 2008.  相似文献

For a bounded function defined on , let be the set of singular values of the (n + 1) x (n + 1) matrix whose (j, k)-entries are equal to
These matrices can be thought of as variable-coefficient Toeplitz matrices or generalized Toeplitz matrices. Matrices of the above form can be also thought of as the discrete analogue of pseudodifferential operators. Under a certain smoothness assumption on the function , we prove that
where the constant c1 and a part of c2 are shown to have explicit integral representations. The other part of c2 turns out to have a resemblance to the Toeplitz case. This asymptotic formula can be viewed as a generalization of the classical theory on singular values of Toeplitz matrices.  相似文献

Suppose M is a tracial von Neumann algebra embeddable into (the ultraproduct of the hyperfinite II1-factor) and X is an n-tuple of selfadjoint generators for M. Denote by Γ(X; m, k, γ) the microstate space of X of order (m, k ,γ). We say that X is tubular if for any ε >  0 there exist and γ > 0 such that if then there exists a k × k unitary u satisfying for each 1 ≤  i ≤  n. We show that the following conditions are equivalent:
•  M is amenable (i.e., injective).
•  X is tubular.
•  Any two embeddings of M into are conjugate by a unitary .

Let
I m is the identity matrix of order m. Let W(λ) be an entire matrix valued function of order 2m, W(0) = I 2m , the values of W(λ) are j mm -unitary at the imaginary axis and strictly j mm -expansive in the open right half-plane. The blocks of order m of the matrix W(λ) with appropriate signs are treated as coefficients of algebraic Riccati equation. It is proved that for any λ with positive real part this equation has a unique contractive solution θ(λ). The matrix valued function θ(λ) can be represented in a form θ(λ) = θ A (iλ) where θ A (μ) is the characteristic function of some maximal dissipative operator A. This operator is in a natural way constructed starting from the Hamiltonian system of the form
with periodic coefficients.  相似文献

A loop Q is said to be left conjugacy closed (LCC) if the left translations form a set of permutations that is closed under conjugation. Loops in which the left and middle nuclei coincide and are of index 2 are necesarilly LCC, and they are constructed in the paper explicitly. LCC loops Q with the right nucleus G of index 2 offer a larger diversity, but that is associated with the level of commutativity of G (amongst others, the centre of G has to be nontrivial). On the other hand, for each m ≥ 2 one can construct an LCC loop Q of order 2m in such a way that its left nucleus is trivial, and the right nucleus if of order m. If Q is involutorial, then it is a Bol loop. Work supported by institutional grant MSM 113200007 and by Grant Agency of Czech Republic, Grant 201/02/0594. In this paper we investigate harmonic Hardy-Orlicz and Bergman-Orlicz b φ,α (B) spaces, using an identity of Hardy-Stein type. We also extend the notion of the Lusin property by introducing (φ, α)-Lusin property with respect to a Stoltz domain. The main result in the paper is as follows: Let be a nonnegative increasing convex function twice differentiable on (0, ∞), and u a harmonic function on the unit ball B in . Then the following statements are equivalent:
(a)  .
(b)  .
(c)  u has (φ, α)-Lusin property with respect to a Stoltz domain with half-angle β, for any .
(d)  u has (φ, α)-Lusin property with respect to a Stoltz domain with half-angle β, for some .
