Topological transitivity of cylindrical cascades

The existence is proved of a topologically transitive (t.t.) homeomorphism U of the space W = × Z of the formU (, z)=(T,, z+f ()) ( , z Z), where is a complete separable metric space, T is a t.t. homeomorphism of onto itself, Z is a separable banach space, andf is a continuous map: z. For the special case W = S¹×R, T=+ ( is incommensurable with 2) the existence is proved of t.t. homeomorphisms (1) of two types: 1) with zero measure of the set of transitive points, 2) with zero measure of the set of intransitive points. Topological transitivity of billiards in polygons

Consider a billiard in a polygon QR² having all angles commensurate with . For the majority of initial directions, density of every infinite semitrajectory in configuration space is proved. Maximal measures for simple piecewise monotonic transformations

Summary It is shown that the transformation xgbx+ (mod 1) (>1, 0<1) on [0, 1] has unique maximal measure.     

On the spectral type of Ornstein's class one transformations

It is shown that D. Ornstein's construction of class one transformations leads almost surely to singular maximal spectral type. Some related harmonic analysis problems are discussed.     

Type monotonic allocation schemes for a class of market games

We consider an extension of glove markets, called T-markets, characterize a family of weighted allocation rules, and define related cooperative games. For the class of T-market games we introduce a new solution concept called the type monotonic allocation scheme. It turns out that the nucleolus and the τ-value generate the same type monotonic allocation scheme with nice extra properties. Invariant measures for certain linear fractional transformations mod 1

Explicit invariant measures are derived for a family of finite-to-one, ergodic transformations of the unit interval having indifferent periodic orbits.

We endow the set of all invariant measures of topologically transitive subsetsL withh _top (L)>0 of a continuous piecewise monotonic transformation on [0, 1] with the weak topology. We show that the set of periodic orbit measures is dense, that the sets of ergodic, of nonatomic, and of measures with supportL are denseG -sets, that the set of strongly mixing measures is of first category, and that the set of measures with zero entropy contains a denseG -set.
