Quadruply bonded dimolybdenum(II) complexes with NP-R (2-(2-R)-1,8-naphthyridine; R = thiazolyl (NP-tz), furyl (NP-fu), thienyl (NP-th)) and 2,3-dimethyl-1,8-naphthyridine (NP-Me 2) have been synthesized by reactions of cis-[Mo2(OAc)2(CH3CN)6][BF4]2 with the corresponding ligands. The products cis-[Mo2(NP-tz)2(OAc)2][BF4]2 (1), trans-[Mo2(NP-fu)2(OAc)2][BF4]2 (2), trans-[Mo2(NP-th)2(OAc)2][BF4]2 (3), and trans-[Mo2(NP-Me2)2(OAc)2][BF4]2 (4) were isolated and characterized. The NP-R ligands with stronger R = pyridyl and thiazolyl donors result in cis isomers whereas the weaker furyl and thienyl appendages lead to compounds having a trans orientation of the ligands. The use of NP-Me2 leads to a trans structure with a tetrafluoroborate anion occupying one of the axial sites. Complete replacement of two acetate groups by acetonitrile in 1 and 2 resulted in the cis isomers [Mo2(NP-tz)2(CH3CN)4][OTf]4 (5) and [Mo2(NP-fu)2(CH3CN)4][OTf]4 (6) respectively. The combination of one acetate and two acetonitriles as ancillary ligands, however, yields trans-[Mo2(NP-tz)2(OAc)(CH3CN)2][BF4]3 (7) in the solid state as determined by X-ray crystallography. (1)H NMR spectra of the products are diagnostic of the cis and trans dispositions of the ligands. Solution studies reveal that the ligand arrangements observed in the solid state are mostly retained in the acetonitrile medium. The only exception is 7, for which a mixture of cis and trans isomers are detected on the NMR time scale. The isolation of trans compounds 2- 4 from the cis precursor [Mo2(OAc)2(CH3CN)6][BF4]2 indicates that an isomerization process occurs during the reactions. The mechanism involving acetate migration through axial coordination has been invoked to rationalize the product formation. Compounds 1- 7 were structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray methods.  相似文献

Condensation of Ph(2)PH and paraformaldehyde with 2-amino-7-methyl-1,8-naphthyridine gave the new flexible tridentate ligand 2-[N-(diphenylphosphino)methyl]amino-7-methyl-1,8-naphthyridine (L). Reaction of L with [Cu(CH(3)CN)(4)]BF(4) and/or different ancillary ligands in dichloromethane afforded N,P chelating or bridging luminescent complexes [(L)(2)Cu(2)](BF(4))(2), [(micro-L)(2)Cu(2)(PPh(3))(2)](BF(4))(2) and [(L)Cu(CNN)]BF(4) (CNN = 6-phenyl-2,2'-bipyridine), respectively. Complexes [(L)(2)Pt]Cl(2), [(L)(2)Pt](ClO(4))(2) and [(L)Pt(CNC)]Cl (CNC = 2,6-biphenylpyridine) were obtained from the reactions of Pt(SMe(2))(2)Cl(2) or (CNC)Pt(DMSO)Cl with L. The crystal structures and photophysical properties of the complexes are presented.  相似文献

Two stereoisomers of cis-[Ru(bpy)(pynp)(CO)Cl]PF6 (bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine, pynp = 2-(2-pyridyl)-1,8-naphthyridine) were selectively prepared. The pyridyl rings of the pynp ligand in [Ru(bpy)(pynp)(CO)Cl]+ are situated trans and cis, respectively, to the CO ligand. The corresponding CH3CN complex ([Ru(bpy)(pynp)(CO)(CH3CN)]2+) was also prepared by replacement reactions of the chlorido ligand in CH3CN. Using these complexes, ligand-centered redox behavior was studied by electrochemical and spectroelectrochemical techniques. The molecular structures of pynp-containing complexes (two stereoisomers of [Ru(bpy)(pynp)(CO)Cl]PF6 and [Ru(pynp)2(CO)Cl]PF6) were determined by X-ray structure analyses.  相似文献

The present study investigates structural and functional aspects of the redox chemistry of rhenium(III) chloride [Re3Cl9] (1) in aqueous and organic solvents, with emphasis on the dioxygen-activating capabilities of reduced rhenium clusters bearing the Re3(8+) core. Dissolution of 1 in HCl (6 M) generates [Re3(mu-Cl)3Cl9]3- (2a), which can be isolated as the tetraphenylphosphonium salt (2b). Anaerobic one-electron reduction of 1 by Hg in HCl (6-12 M) produces [(C6H5)4P]2[Re3(mu-Cl)3Cl7(H2O)2].H2O (3), the structure of which features a planar [Re3(mu-Cl)3Cl3] framework (Re3(8+) core), involving two water ligands that occupy out-of-plane positions in a trans arrangement. Compound 3 dissociates in the presence of CO, yielding [(C6H5)4P]2[ReIII2Cl8] (4) and an unidentified red carbonyl species. In situ oxidation (O2) of the reduced Re3(8+)-containing cluster in HCl (6 M) produces quantitatively 2a, whereas oxidation of 3 in organic media results in the formation of [(C6H5)4P]4[(Re3(mu-Cl)3Cl7(mu-OH))2].2CH2Cl2 (5). The structure of 5 reveals that two oxygen ligands (hydroxo units) bridge asymmetrically two Re3(9+) triangular clusters. The origin of these hydroxo units derives from the aquo ligands, rather than O2, as shown by 18O2 labeling studies. The hydroxo bridges of 5 can be replaced by chlorides upon treatment with Me3SiCl to afford the analogous [(C6H5)4P]4[(Re3(mu-Cl)3Cl7(mu-Cl))2].10CH2Cl2 (6). The reaction of 5 with Hg in HCl (6 M)/tetrahydrofuran regenerates compound 3. Complexes 1-3 exhibit nitrile hydratase type activity, inducing hydrolysis of CH3CN to acetamide. The reaction of 3 with CH3CN yields [(C6H5)4P]2[Re3(mu-Cl)3Cl6.5(CH3CN)1.5(CH3C(O)NH)0.5] (7), the structure of which is composed of [Re3(mu-Cl)3Cl7(CH3CN)2]2- (7a) and [Re3(mu-Cl)3Cl6(CH3CN)(CH3C(O)NH)]2- (7b) (Re3(8+) cores) as a disordered mixture (1:1). Oxidation of 7 with O2 in CH3CN affords [(C6H5)4P]2[Re3(mu-Cl)3Cl7(CH3C(O)NH)].CH3CN (8) and small amounts of [(C6H5)4P][ReO4] (9). Compound 8 is also independently isolated from the reaction of 2b with wet CH3CN, or by dissolving 5 in CH3CN. In MeOH, 5 dissociates to afford [(C6H5)4P]2[Re3(mu-Cl)3Cl8(MeOH)].MeOH (10).  相似文献

Reaction of Mo(2)Cl(4)(dppm)(2) (dppm = bis(diphenylphosphino)methane) with 6 equiv of [n-Bu(4)N][CN] or [Et(4)N][CN] in dichloromethane yields [n-Bu(4)N](2)[Mo(2)(CN)(6)(dppm)(2)] (1) and [Et(4)N](2)[Mo(2)(CN)(6)(dppm)(2)] (2), respectively. The corresponding one- and two-electron oxidation products [n-Bu(4)N][Mo(2)(CN)(6)(dppm)(2)] (3) and Mo(2)(CN)(6)(dppm)(2) (4)were prepared by reactions of 1 with the oxidant NOBF(4). Single-crystal X-ray structures of 2.2CH(3)CN, 3.2CH(3)CN.2H(2)O, and 4.2CH(3)NO(2) were performed, and the results confirmed that all three complexes contain identical ligand sets with trans dppm ligands bisecting the Mo(2)(mu-CN)(2)(CN)(4) equatorial plane. The binding of the bridging cyanide ligands is affected by the oxidation state of the dimolybdenum core as evidenced by an increase in side-on pi-bonding overlap of the mu-CN in going from 1 to 4. The greater extent of pi-donation into Mo orbitals is accompanied by a lengthening of the Mo-Mo distance (2.736(1) A in Mo(2)(II,II) (2), 2.830(1) A in Mo(2)(II,III) (3), and 2.936(1) A in Mo(2)(III,III) (4)). A computational study of the closed-shell members of this homologous series, [Mo(2)(CN)(6)(dppm)(2)](n)() (n = 2-, 0), indicates that the more pronounced side-on pi-donation evident in the X-ray structure of 4 leads to significant destabilization of the delta orbital and marginal stabilization of the delta() orbitals with respect to nearly degenerate delta and delta orbitals in the parent compound, 2. The loss of delta contributions combined with the reduced orbital overlap due to higher charges on molybdenum centers in oxidized complexes 3 and 4 is responsible for the observed increase in the length of the Mo-Mo bond.  相似文献

The 1,8-naphthyridine-based (NP-based) ligands with furyl, thiazolyl, pyridyl, and pyrrolyl attachments at the 2-position have been synthesized. Reactions of 3-MeNP (3-methyl-1,8-naphthyridine), fuNP (2-(2-furyl)-1,8-naphthyridine), tzNP (2-(2-thiazolyl)-1,8-naphthyridine), pyNP (2-(2-pyridyl)-1,8-naphthyridine), and prNP(-1) (2-(2-pyrrolyl)-1,8-naphthyridine) with [Ru2(CO)4(CH3CN)6]2+ lead to [Ru2(3-MeNP)2(CO)4(OTf)2] (1), [Ru2(fuNP)2(CO)4]2[BF4]2 (2), [Ru2(tzNP)2(CO)4][ClO4]2 (3), [Ru2(pyNP)2(CO)4][OTf]2 (4), and [Ru2(prNP)2(CO)4] (5). The molecular structures of complexes 1-5 have been established by X-ray crystallographic studies. The modulation of the Ru-Ru single-bond distances with axial donors triflates, furyls, thiazolyls, pyridyls, and pyrrolyls has been examined. A small and gradual increase in the Ru-Ru distance is measured with various donors of increasing strengths. The shortest Ru-Ru distance of 2.6071(9) angstroms is observed for the axially coordinated triflates in complex 1, and the longest Ru-Ru distance of 2.6969(10) angstroms is measured for axial pyrrolyls in complex 5. The Ru-Ru distances in complexes 3 (2.6734(7) angstroms) and 4 (2.6792(9) angstroms), having thiazolyls and pyridyls at axial sites respectively, are similar. The Ru-Ru distance for axial furyls in complex 2 (2.6261(9) angstroms) is significantly shorter than the corresponding distances in 3, 4, and 5. DFT calculations provide insight into the interaction of the Ru-Ru sigma orbital with axial donors. The Ru-Ru sigma orbital is elevated to a higher energy because of the interaction with axial lone pairs. The degree of destabilization depends on the nature of axial ligands: the stronger the ligand, higher the elevation of Ru-Ru orbital. The lengthening of Ru-Ru distances with respect to the axial donors in compounds 1-5 follows along the direction pyrrolyl > pyridyl approximately thiazolyl > furyl > triflate, and the trend correlates well with the computed destabilization of the Ru-Ru sigma orbitals.  相似文献

A homologous series of dinuclear compounds with the bridging ligand 2-(2-pyridyl)-1,8-naphthyridine (pynp) has been prepared and characterized by X-ray crystallographic and spectroscopic methods. [Mo(2)(O(2)CCH(3))(2)(pynp)(2)][BF(4)](2) x 3CH(3)CN (1) crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c with a = 15.134(5) A, b = 14.301(6) A, c = 19.990(6) A, beta = 108.06(2) degrees, V = 4113(3) A(3), and Z = 4. [Ru(2)(O(2)CCH(3))(2)(pynp)(2)][PF(6)](2) x 2CH(3)OH (2) crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/c with a = 14.2228(7) A, b = 20.3204(9) A, c = 14.1022(7) A, beta = 95.144(1) degrees, V = 4059.3(3) A(3), and Z = 4. [Rh(2)(O(2)CCH(3))(2)(pynp)(2)][BF(4)](2) x C(7)H(8) (3) crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/c with a = 13.409(2) A, b = 21.670(3) A, c = 13.726(2) A, beta = 94.865(2) degrees, V = 3973.9(8) A(3), and Z = 4. A minor product, [Rh(2)(O(2)CCH(3))(2)(pynp)(2)(CH(3)CN)(2)][BF(4)][PF(6)] x 2CH(3)CN (4), was isolated from the mother liquor after crystals of 3 had been harvested; this compound crystallizes in the triclinic space group, P1 with a = 12.535(3) A, b = 13.116(3) A, c = 13.785(3) A, alpha = 82.52(3) degrees, beta = 77.70(3) degrees, gamma = 85.76(3) degrees, V = 2193.0(8) A(3), and Z = 2. Compounds 1-3 constitute a convenient series for probing the influence of the electronic configuration on the extent of mixing of the M-M orbitals with the pi system of the pynp ligand. Single point energy calculations performed on 1-3 at the B3LYP level of theory lend insight into the bonding in these compounds and allow for correlations to be made with electronic spectral data. Although purely qualitative in nature, the values for normalized change in orbital energies (NCOE) of the frontier orbitals before and after reduction are in agreement with the observed differences in reduction potentials as determined by cyclic voltammetry.  相似文献

The preparation and characterization of three new paramagnetic complexes of the 17-electron Re(II) ion are reported. The salts [Re(triphos)(CH(3)CN)(3))][X](2), X = [BF(4)](-) (1), [PF(6)](-) (2), and [Et(4)N][Re(triphos)(CN)(3)] (3) were prepared by homolytic cleavage of the Re-Re bond in [Re(2)(CH(3)CN)(10)][BF(4)](4) or by disruption of the chlorine bridges in [(triphos)Re(mu-Cl)(3)Re(triphos)]Cl (1) (triphos = 1,1,1-tris(diphenylphosphino-methyl)ethane) and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, infrared and (1)H NMR spectroscopies, cyclic voltammetry, and magnetic susceptibility measurements. Compound 2 undergoes reversible reduction and irreversible oxidation processes while 3 undergoes a reversible reduction, an irreversible oxidation, and a reversible oxidation. The magnetic susceptibility data for 2 and 3 exhibit a strong temperature independent paramagnetic component which is in accord with a highly anisotropic S = (1)/(2) magnetic ground state. The results of this study indicate that dinuclear Re(2)(II,II) starting materials are viable precursors for producing unusual mononuclear Re(II) complexes.  相似文献

Two methodologies of C-C bond formation to achieve organometallic complexes with 7 or 9 conjugated carbon atoms are described. A C7 annelated trans-[Cl(dppe)2Ru=C=C=C-CH=C(CH2)-C[triple bond]C-Ru(dppe)2Cl][X] (X = PF6, OTf) complex is obtained from the diyne trans-[Cl(dppe)2Ru-(C[triple bond]C)2-R] (R = H, SiMe3) in the presence of [FeCp2][PF6] or HOTf, and C7 or C9 complexes trans-[Cl(dppe)2Ru-(C[triple bond]C)n-C(CH3)=C(R1)-C(R2)=C=C=Ru(dppe)2Cl][X] (n = 1, 2; R1 = Me, Ph, R2 = H, Me; X = BF4, OTf) are formed in the presence of a polyyne trans-[Cl(dppe)2Ru-(C[triple bond]C)n-R] (n = 2, 3; R = H, SiMe3) with a ruthenium allenylidene trans-[Cl(dppe)2Ru=C=C=C(CH2R1)R2][X]. These reactions proceed under mild conditions and involve cumulenic intermediates [M+]=(C=)nCHR (n = 3, 5), including a hexapentaenylidene. A combination of chemical, electrochemical, spectroscopic (UV-vis, IR, NIR, EPR), and theoretical (DFT) techniques is used to show the influence of the nature and conformation of the bridge on the properties of the complexes and to give a picture of the electron delocalization in the reduced and oxidized states. These studies demonstrate that the C7 bridging ligand spanning the metal centers by almost 12 angstroms is implicated in both redox processes and serves as a molecular wire to convey the unpaired electron with no tendency for spin localization on one of the halves of the molecules. The reactivity of the C7 complexes toward protonation and deprotonation led to original bis(acetylides), vinylidene-allenylidene, or carbyne-vinylidene species such as trans-[Cl(dppe)2Ru[triple bond]C-CH=C(CH3)-CH=C(CH3)-HC=C=Ru(dppe)2Cl][BF4]3.  相似文献

New examples of [C6F5Xe]+ salts of the weakly coordinating anions [B(CF3)4]-, [B(C6F5)4]-, [B(CN)4]-, and [B(OTeF5)4]- have been synthesized by metathesis reactions of [C6F5Xe][BF4] with the corresponding MI[BY4] salts (MI = K or Cs; Y = CF3, C6F5, CN, or OTeF5). The salts were characterized in solution by multi-NMR spectroscopy. Their stabilities in prototypic solvents (CH3CN and CH2Cl2) and decomposition products are reported. The influence of the coordinating nature of [BY4]- on the decomposition rate of [C6F5Xe]+ as well as the presence of the weakly nucleophilic [BF4]- ion has been studied. The electrophilic pentafluorophenylation of C6H5F by [C6F5Xe][BY4] in solvents of different coordinating abilities (CH3CN and CH2Cl2) and the effects of stronger nucleophiles (fluoride and water) on the pentafluorophenylation process have been investigated. Simulations of the 19F and 129Xe NMR spectra of [C6F5Xe]+ have provided the complete set of aryl 19F-19F and 129Xe-19F coupling constants and their relative signs. The 19F NMR parameters of the [C6F5Xe]+ cation in the present series of salts are shown to reflect the relative degrees of cation-solvent interactions.  相似文献

Reduction of trans-[OsL2(O)2] (1) (L-=[N(i-Pr2PS)2]-) with hydrazine hydrate afforded a dinitrogen complex 2, possibly "[OsL2(N2)(solv)]" (solv=H2O or THF), which reacted with RCN, R'NC, and SO2 to give trans-[OsL2(RCN)2] (R=Ph (3), 4-tolyl (4), 4-t-BuC6H4 (5)), trans-[OsL2(R'NC)2] (R'=2,6-Me2C6H3 (xyl) (6), t-Bu (7)), and [Os(L)2(SO2)(H2O)] (8) complexes, respectively. Protonation of compounds 2, 3, and 6 with HBF4 led to formation of dicationic trans-[Os(LH)2(N2)(H2O)][BF4]2 (9), trans-[Os(LH)2(PhCN)2][BF4]2 (10), and trans-[Os(LH)2(xylNC)2][BF4]2 (11), respectively. Treatment of 1 with phenylhydrazine and SnCl2 afforded trans-[OsL2(N2Ph)2] (12) and trans-[OsL2Cl2] (13), respectively. Air oxidation of compound 2 in hexane/MeOH gave the dimethoxy complex trans-[OsL2(OMe)2] (14), which in CH2Cl2 solution was readily air oxidized to 1. Compound 1 is capable of catalyzing aerobic oxidation of PPh3, possibly via an Os(IV) intermediate. The formal potentials for the Os-L complexes have been determined by cyclic voltammetry. The solid-state structures of compounds 4, 6, cis-8, 13, and 14 have been established by X-ray crystallography.  相似文献

The addition of methanol and ethanol to the previously reported cluster solvates [Re6(mu3-Se)8(PEt3)5(MeCN)](SbF6)2 and trans-[Re6(mu3-Se)8(PEt3)4(CH3CN)2][SbF6]2 afforded three cluster complexes with imino ester ligands: {Re6(mu3-Se)8(PEt3)5[HN=C(OCH3)(CH3)]}(SbF6)2, {Re6(mu3-Se)8(PEt3)5[HN=C(OCH2CH3)(CH3)]}{SbF6}2, and trans-{Re6(mu3-Se)8(PEt3)4[HN=C(OCH3)(CH3)]2}{SbF6}2. In all cases, predominant formation of the Z isomers was observed.  相似文献

The ferracarborane [N(PPh3)2][6,6,6,10,10,10-(CO)6-closo-6,10,1-Fe2CB7H8] reacts in CH2Cl2 with 3 molar equivalents of Ag[PF6] to yield the trifluoro-substituted species [N(PPh3)2][7,8,9-F3-6,6,6,10,10,10-(CO)6-closo-6,10,1-Fe2CB7H5]. Compound undergoes structural rearrangement in toluene at reflux temperatures, forming [N(PPh3)2][8,9,10-F3-6,6,6,7,7,7-(CO)6-closo-6,7,1-Fe2CB7H5]. Alternatively, reaction of either or with a 10-fold excess of Ag[PF6] in CH2Cl2 forms two species: namely, [N(PPh3)2][2,7,9,10-F4-6,6,6,8,8,8-(CO)6-closo-6,8,1-Fe2CB7H4], in which one further B-F substitution has occurred and the {Fe2CB7} cluster core has rearranged, plus a mono-iron co-product, [N(PPh3)2][3,8,9-F3-7,7,7-(CO)3-closo-7,1-FeCB7H5] that is formed by polyhedral contraction. Treatment of with [NO][BF4] in CH2Cl2 results in CO substitution at the 4-connected iron vertex [Fe10], producing the zwitterionic complex [7,8,9-F3-6,6,6,10,10-(CO)5-10-NO-closo-6,10,1-Fe2CB7H5]. Addition of Me3NO to a mixture of and PEt3 in CH2Cl2 also results in CO substitution, forming the isomeric species [N(PPh3)2][7,8,9-F3-6,6,m,10,10-(CO)5-n-PEt3-closo-6,10,1-Fe2CB7H5] [m=6, n=10; m=10, n=6] in a 5:1 ratio. Treatment of with [NO][BF4] and then CNBut in CH2Cl2 allows further, successive CO substitution at Fe10 to yield first a neutral, zwitterionic complex [7,8,9-F3-6,6,6,10-(CO)4-10-NO-10-PEt3-closo-6,10,1-Fe2CB7H5] and then [7,8,9-F3-6,6,6-(CO)3-10-CNBut-10-NO-10-PEt3-closo-6,10,1-Fe2CB7H5]. The molecular structures of compounds and have been established by X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

The one-electron reduction of [Pd3(C7H7)2(CH3CN)3][BF4]2 in acetonitrile resulted in the formation of the dimer dication [Pd6(C7H7)4(CH3CN)4][BF4]2, whose structure containing a novel bitriangle hexapalladium skeleton was determined by X-ray crystallographic analysis. The dimer is stable in CD3CN at ambient temperature for several days but is highly air-sensitive. Similarly, the cycloheptatriene tripalladium complex [Pd3(C7H7R)2(CH3CN)3][BF4]2 (R = H, t-Bu) dimerized upon one-electron reduction. Both monomer and dimer of cycloheptatriene complexes were structurally determined by X-ray crystallographic analyses.  相似文献

New examples of [C6F5Xe]+ salts of the weakly coordinating [BY4]- (Y = CN, CF3, or C6F5) anions were synthesized by metathesis of [C6F5Xe][BF4] with MI[BY4] (MI = K or Cs; Y = CN, CF3, or C6F5) in CH3CN at -40 degrees C, and were crystallized from CH2Cl2 or from a CH2Cl2/CH3CN solvent mixture. The low-temperature (-173 degrees C) X-ray crystal structures of the [C6F5Xe]+ cation and of the [C6F5XeNCCH3]+ adduct-cation are reported for [C6F5Xe][B(CF3)4], [C6F5XeNCCH3][B(CF3)4], [C6F5Xe][B(CN)4], and [C6F5XeNCCH3][B(C6F5)4]. The [C6F5Xe]+ cation, in each structure, interacts with either the anion or the solvent, with the weakest cation-anion interactions occurring for the [B(CF3)4]- anion. The solid-state Raman spectra of the [C6F5Xe]+ and [C6F5XeNCCH3]+ salts have been assigned with the aid of electronic structure calculations. Gas-phase thermodynamic calculations show that the donor-acceptor bond dissociation energy of [C6F5XeNCCH3]+ is approximately half that of [FXeNCCH3]+. Coordination of CH3CN to [C6F5Xe]+ is correlated with changes in the partial charges on mainly Xe, the ipso-C, and N, that is, the partial charge on Xe increases and those on the ipso-C and N decrease upon coordination, typifying a transition from a 2c-2e to a 3c-4e bond.  相似文献

Reactions of 3,6-bis(2-pyridyl)-1,2,4,5-tetrazine (bptz) with solvated first-row transition metals M(II) (M(II) = Ni, Zn, Mn, Fe, Cu) have been explored with emphasis on the factors that influence the identity of the resulting cyclic products for Ni(II) and Zn(II). The relatively small anions, namely [ClO4]- and [BF4]-, lead to the formation of molecular squares [{M4(bptz)4(CH3CN)8} subsetX][X]7, (M = Zn(II), Ni(II); X = [BF4]-, [ClO4]-), whereas the larger anion [SbF6]- favors the molecular pentagon [{Ni5(bptz)5-(CH3CN)10} subsetSbF6][SbF6]9. The molecular pentagon easily converts to the square in the presence of excess [BF4]-, [ClO4]-, and [I]- anions, whereas the Ni(II) square can be partially converted to the less stable pentagon under more forcing conditions in the presence of excess [SbF6]- ions. No evidence for the molecular square being in equilibrium with the pentagon was observed in the ESI-MS spectra of the individual square and pentagon samples. Anion-exchange reactions of the encapsulated ion in [{Ni4(bptz)4(CH3CN)8} subsetClO4][ClO4]7 reveal that a larger anion such as [IO4]- cannot replace [ClO4]- inside the cavity, but that the linear [Br3]- anion is capable of doing so. ESI-MS studies of the reaction between [Ni(CH3CN)6][NO3]2 and bptz indicate that the product is trinuclear. Mass spectral studies of the bptz reactions with Mn(II), Fe(II), and Cu(II), in the presence of [ClO4]- anions, support the presence of molecular squares. The formation of the various metallacyclophanes is discussed in light of the factors that influence these self-assembly reactions, such as choice of metal ion, anion, and solvent.  相似文献

The reaction of vanadium(III) acetylacetonate with HBF4 in acetonitrile yields [(CH3CN)5V-O-V(CH3CN)5][BF4]4, a material that serves as a convenient precursor to other [V-O-V]4+ species such as [(bipy)2(CH3CN)V-O-V(CH3CN)(bipy)2][BF4]4 (bipy=2,2'-bipyridine). Single-crystal X-ray diffraction shows that the V-O-V linkage of [(CH3CN)5V-O-V(CH3CN)5]4+ is linear. An Evans method measurement of the solution-phase magnetic susceptibility indicates strong ferromagnetic coupling between the vanadium centers. Magnetic susceptibility (chi) and magnetization (M(H)) data for a powdered sample and for a single crystal oriented with its V-O-V axis parallel to the applied field were measured over 1.8-300 K. The results suggest that the V(III) centers are ferromagnetically coupled with J approximately 72 K (approximately 50 cm(-1)) yielding a ground state with a total spin Stotal=2. Theoretical fit to the M(H) plot for the single crystal yielded g||=2.01+/-0.01 and the zero-field splitting parameter D=0.60+/-0.04 K (0.42+/-0.03 cm(-1)). The self-assembly of open ditopic and tetratopic cavitand complexes has been investigated by using monofunctionalized cavitand ligands and suitable metal precursors. In the case of ditopic complexes, self-assembly protocols, leading exclusively to the formation of both thermodynamically stable cis-Pt square-planar complexes 8 and 9 and the kinetically inert fac-Re octahedral complex 14, have been elaborated. The use of cis-[Pt(CH3)CN)2Cl2] as metal precursor led to the formation of monotopic trans-10 and ditopic trans-11 cavitand complexes, while cis-[Pt(dmso)2Cl2] afforded both cis-13 and trans-11 isomers. The self-assembly of tetratopic cavitand complexes has been achieved by using mononuclear [Pd(CH3CN)4(BF4)2] and dinuclear [M2(tppb)(OTf)4] (19: M = Pt; 20: M = Pd) metal precursors. Only the tetratopic dinuclear complexes 21 and 22 were stable. The ligand configuration with two phosphorus and two cavitand ligands at the metal centers is the most appropriate to build tetratopic cavitand complexes with sufficient kinetic stability.  相似文献

An N-Alkyl bipyridinium having a polymethylene chain and a bulky aryl group at the end, [4,4'-bpy-N-(CH2)10OC6H(3)-3,5-tBu2]Cl (Cl), reacts with K[PtCl3(dmso)] to produce the Pt complex with the N-alkyl bipyridinium ligand [Cl2(dmso)Pt{4,4'-bpy-N-(CH2)10OC6H(3)-3,5-tBu2}][PtCl3(dmso)] as a 6:1 mixture of trans and cis isomers ([trans-][PtCl3(dmso)] and [cis-][PtCl3(dmso)]). Addition of alpha-cyclodextrin (alpha-CD) to a solution of Cl in dmso-d6/D2O (3:1) forms [2]pseudorotaxane [{4,4'-bpy-N-(CH2)10OC6H(3)-3,5-tBu2}.(alpha-CD)]Cl (Cl) which is equilibrated with Cl and alpha-CD in solution. The reaction of K[PtCl3(dmso)] with Cl affords the [2]rotaxane [trans-Cl2(dmso)Pt{4,4'-bpy-N-(CH2)10OC6H(3)-3,5-tBu2}.(alpha-CD)][PtCl3(dmso)] ([trans-][PtCl3(dmso)]) which contains alpha-CD and [trans-][PtCl3(dmso)] as the cyclic and axis components, respectively. Dissolution of a mixture of [trans-][PtCl3(dmso)], [cis-][PtCl3(dmso)] and alpha-CD in dmso-d6/D2O (3:1) forms a mixture of the rotaxanes containing [trans--d6][PtCl3(dmso)] and [cis--d6][PtCl3(dmso)]. The reaction involves partial dissociation of the bipyridinium from Pt of [trans-][PtCl3(dmso)] or [cis-][PtCl3(dmso)] to yield [PtCl3(dmso)] and formation of pseudorotaxane with alpha-CD, followed by recoordination of the bipyridinium to the Pt. The reversible formation of the Pt-N coordination bond is studied in a dmso solution of the N-butyl compounds [trans-Cl2(dmso)Pt{4,4'-bpy-N-nBu}][PtCl3(dmso)] ([trans-][PtCl3(dmso)]).  相似文献
