An evolutionary method for optimization of plate buckling resistance   总被引:9,自引:0,他引:9  
Optimization of plate buckling resistance is very complicated, because the in-plane stress resultants in the prebuckled state of a plate are functions of thickness distribution. This paper discusses the problem of finding the optimum thickness distribution of isotropic plate structures, with a given volume and layout, that would maximise the buckling load. A simple numerical method using the finite-element analysis is presented to obtain the optimum thickness distribution. Optimum designs of compression-loaded rectangular plates with different boundary conditions and plate aspect ratios are obtained by using the proposed method. Optimum designs from earlier studies and the methods of buckling analysis used to attain these results are discussed and compared with the designs from the proposed method. This paper also examines the reliability of the optimality criterion generally used for plate buckling optimization, which is based on the uniform strain energy density.  相似文献

The buckling instability of a thick rectangular plate made of a viscoelastic composite material is studied. The investigation is carried out within the framework of the three-dimensional linearized theory of stability. The plate edges are clamped and the plate is compressed through the clamps. Moreover, it is assumed that the plate has an initial infinitesimal imperfection, and, as a buckling criterion, the state is taken where this imperfection starts to increase indefinitely at fixed finite values of external compressive forces. From this criterion, the critical time is determined. The corresponding boundary-value problems are solved by employing the three-dimensional FEM and the Laplace transform. The material of the plate is assumed orthotropic, viscoelastic, and homogeneous. Numerical results related to the critical time are presented.  相似文献

An analytical spectral stiffness method is proposed for the efficient and accurate buckling analysis of rectangular plates on Winkler foundation subject to general boundary conditions (BCs). The method combines the advantages of superposition method, stiffness-based method and the Wittrick–Williams algorithm. First, exact general solutions of the governing differential equation (GDE) of plate buckling considering both elastic foundation and biaxial loading is derived by using a modified Fourier series. The superposition of such general solutions satisfy the GDE exactly and BCs approximately, which guarantees the rapid convergence and high accuracy. Then, based on the exact general solution, the spectral stiffness matrix which relates the coefficients of plate generalized displacement BCs and force BCs is symbolically developed. As a result, arbitrary BCs can be prescribed straightforwardly in the stiffness-based model. As an efficient and reliable solution technique, the Wittrick–Williams algorithm with the J0 problem resolved is applied to obtain the critical buckling solutions. The accuracy and efficiency of the method are verified by comparing with other methods. Benchmark buckling solutions are provided for plates with all possible boundary conditions. Also, dependence of various factors such as foundation stiffness, load combinations and aspect ratio on the buckling behaviors are investigated.  相似文献

In this paper, the second order statistics of post buckling response of functionally graded materials plate (FGM) subjected to mechanical and thermal loading with nonuniform temperature changes subjected to temperature independent (TID) and dependent (TD) material properties is examined. Material properties such as material properties of each constituent’s materials, volume fraction index are taken as independent random input variables. The basic formulation is based on higher order shear deformation theory (HSDT) with von-Karman nonlinear kinematic using modified C0 continuity. A direct iterative based C0 nonlinear finite element method (FEM) combined with mean centered first order perturbation technique (FOPT) proposed by last two authors for the composite plate is extended for Functionally Graded Materials (FGMs) plate with reasonable accuracy to compute the second order statistics (mean and coefficient of variation) of the post buckling load response of the FGM plates. The effect of random material properties with amplitude ratios, volume fraction index, plate thickness ratios, aspect ratios, boundary conditions and types of loadings subjected to TID and TD material properties are presented through numerical examples. The performance of outlined present approach is validated with the results available in literatures and independent Monte Carlo simulation (MCS).  相似文献

A theoretical and experimental study on the buckling of pultruded columns under an axial load is reported. The tests were carried out on wide-flange (H-shape) and narrow-flange (I-shape) pultruded structural profiles reinforced with glass fibers (GFRP). The aim of the research was to provide more detailed information on the effective buckling behavior, the interaction between local and global buckling, and the type of failure, considering different slenderness ratios, from 9 to 195. Also, a comparison between the results of a finite-element analysis and experimental data is shown.  相似文献

In this paper the von Kármán model for thin, elastic, infinite plate strip resting on a linear elastic foundation of Winkler type is studied. The infinite plate strip is simply-supported and subjected to evenly distributed compressive loads. The critical values of bifurcation parameters and buckling modes for given frequency of longitudinal waves are found on the basis of investigation of linearized problem. The mathematical nonlinear model is reduced to operator equation with Fredholm type operator of index 0 depending on parameters defined in corresponding Hölder spaces. The Lyapunov-Schmidt reduction and the Crandall-Rabinowitz bifurcation theorem (gradient case) are used to examine the postcritical behaviour of the plate. It is proved that there exists maximal frequency of longitudinal waves depending on the compressive load and the stiffness modulus of foundation.  相似文献

In this paper using finite difference method the lower bound buckling load for simply supported stepped and stiffened rectangular plate with uniformly distributed compressive forces in one direction is discussed. The plate is divided into 400 rectangular meshes. The partial derivatives are approximated using central difference formula. Three hundred and sixty-one equations are formed and using MATLAB the least eigenvalue is obtained. The buckling coefficients are calculated for different types of stepped plates and the results are presented in tables and graphs for ready use by designers. Two separate tables are presented in comparison with the exact buckling factor for stepped rectangular plate by Xiang, Wei and Wang. The results give a close agreement.  相似文献

This paper deals with the thermal buckling analysis of point-supported thin laminated composite plates. The analysis is performed for rhombic and rectangular plates and two cases of bilateral and unilateral buckling. In the unilateral buckling, it is assumed that the plate is in contact with a rigid surface and lateral deflection is forced to be only in one direction. The element-free Galerkin (EFG) method is employed to discretize equilibrium equations. Point supports are modeled in the form of distinct restrained circular surfaces through developing a numerical procedure based on the Lagrange multiplier technique. The unilateral behavior of the plate is incorporated in the analysis by using the penalty method and the Heaviside contact function. The final system of nonlinear algebraic equations is solved iteratively. Two types of point support arrangements are considered and the effect of different parameters such as number of point supports, plate aspect ratio and lamination scheme on the buckling coefficient of composite plates is investigated.  相似文献

对强激光辐照下薄板(铜片)的动态热失稳过程进行了分析,得出了简支圆薄板在热冲击下发生的屈曲及后屈曲过程,并给出了临界激光功率密度与薄板厚径比的关系曲线,方法计入了温度分布、惯性项和缺陷大小对于失稳过程的影响。这一工作有利于人们对强激光引起的硬目标破坏机理的认识。  相似文献

We obtain an analytic solution of the problem of determining the stressed state caused by a given residual strain field (while taking account of three-dimensional effects) in a round plate with a concentric foreign inclusion. We study the influence of the geometric parameters of the given system, the nonlinearity of the distribution of the given residual strains over the thickness of the plate, and a possible jump in distortion at the surface of contact on the stressed state of the system. 对编织物受沿与其经线方向成任意角度θ(0<θ<90°)的单向拉伸时的屈曲进行了分析,得到了确定其屈曲方向角β的方程,给出了当θ=45°和θ=30°时确定屈曲方向角β的方程的解曲线.证明了当编织物受到沿非经向/非纬向的单向拉伸时,屈曲是可能的,得到了两种可能的屈曲模态(弯曲模态和拉伸模态)以及相应的屈曲条件.Zhang和Fu(2001)的结果为其结论的特例.  相似文献

The biaxial buckling behavior of single-layered graphene sheets (SLGSs) is studied in the present work. To consider the size-effects in the analysis, Eringen’s nonlocal elasticity equations are incorporated into the different types of plate theory namely as classical plate theory (CLPT), first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT), and higher-order shear deformation theory (HSDT). An exact solution is conducted to obtain the critical biaxial buckling loads of simply-supported square and rectangular SLGSs with various values of side-length and nonlocal parameter corresponding to each type of nonlocal plate model. Then, molecular dynamics (MD) simulations are performed for a series of armchair and zigzag SLGSs with different side-lengths, the results of which are matched with those obtained by the nonlocal plate models to extract the appropriate values of nonlocal parameter relevant to each type of nonlocal elastic plate model and chirality. It is found that the present nonlocal plate models with their proposed proper values of nonlocal parameter have an excellent capability to predict the biaxial buckling response of SLGSs.  相似文献

In this article, an analytical approach for buckling analysis of thick functionally graded rectangular plates is presented. The equilibrium and stability equations are derived according to the higher-order shear deformation plate theory. Introducing an analytical method, the coupled governing stability equations of functionally graded plate are converted into two uncoupled partial differential equations in terms of transverse displacement and a new function, called boundary layer function. Using Levy-type solution these equations are solved for the functionally graded rectangular plate with two opposite edges simply supported under different types of loading conditions. The excellent accuracy of the present analytical solution is confirmed by making some comparisons of the present results with those available in the literature. Furthermore, the effects of power of functionally graded material, plate thickness, aspect ratio, loading types and boundary conditions on the critical buckling load of the functionally graded rectangular plate are studied and discussed in details. The critical buckling loads of thick functionally graded rectangular plates with various boundary conditions are reported for the first time and can be used as benchmark.  相似文献

In this paper, the existence and stability results for ground state solutions of an m-coupled nonlinear Schrödinger system $$i\frac{∂}{∂ t}u_j+\frac{∂²}{∂x²}u_j+\sum\limits^m_{i=1}b_{ij}|u_i|^p|u_j|^{p-2}u_j=0,$$ are established, where $2 ≤ m, 2≤p<3$ and $u_j$ are complex-valued functions of $(x,t) ∈ \mathbb{R}^2, j=1,...,m$ and $b_{ij}$ are positive constants satisfying $b_{ij}=b_{ji}$. In contrast with other methods used before to establish existence and stability of solitary wave solutions where the constraints of the variational minimization problem are related to one another, our approach here characterizes ground state solutions as minimizers of an energy functional subject to independent constraints. The set of minimizers is shown to be orbitally stable and further information about the structure of the set is given in certain cases.  相似文献
