In the recent book of R.S. Varga, [3], one of two main recurring themes is that a nonsingular theorem for matrices gives rise to an equivalent eigenvalue inclusion set in the complex plane, and conversely. If such nonsingularity result can be extended via irreducibility, usually this can be used for obtaining more information about the boundary of the corresponding eigenvalue inclusion set. Here we will start with one of Geršgorin‐type theorem for eigenvalue inclusion, given in [1], (for which exists corresponding equivalent statement about nonsingularity of a particular class of matrices) and use it for proving necessary conditions for an eigenvalue to lie on the boundary of localization area. The existing algorithms for computing the minimal Ger?gorin set are designed for small and medium size (irreducible) matrices and based on Perron root computations coupled with bisection method and sampling techniques. Here, we first discuss the drawbacks of the existing methods and present a new approach based on the modified Newton's method to find zeros of the parameter dependent left‐most eigenvalue of a Z‐matrix and a special curve tracing procedure. Given a fixed multigraph H with V(H) = {h1,…, hm}, we say that a graph G is H‐linked if for every choice of m vertices v1, …, vm in G, there exists a subdivision of H in G such that for every i, vi is the branch vertex representing hi. This generalizes the notion of k‐linked graphs (as well as some other notions). For a family of graphs, a graph G is ‐linked if G is H‐linked for every . In the present paper we prove that the sub‐Riemannian cut locus at the origin of a wide class of nilpotent groups of step two, called H‐type groups, corresponds to the center of the group. We obtain this result by completely describing the sub‐Riemannian geodesics in the group, and using these to obtain three disjoint sets of points in the group determined by the number of geodesics joining them to the origin.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce and investigate a new subclass of the function class Σ of bi-univalent functions of the Mocanu-convex type defined in the open unit disk, satisfy Ma and Minda subordination conditions. Furthermore, we find estimates on the Taylor-Maclaurin coefficients |a2| and |a3| for functions in the new subclass introduced here. Further Application of Hohlov operator to this class is obtained. A four dimensional summability matrix is stronger than convergence in the Pringsheim sense if it sums a divergent double sequence. Presented in this paper are sufficient conditions on a four dimensional matrix transformation which ensure that the summability matrix is stronger than convergence in the Pringsheim sense. The purpose of this paper is to prove qualitative and optimal quantitative Tauberian theorems for the sequence λ defined by the relation g′ = λ∗︁g ,where ∗︁ denotes the Cauchy convolution, g is a given sequence with g(0) = 0 satisfying suitable growth conditions, and g′ is defined by g′(n) = (n + 1)g(n + 1) for n ∈ ℕ = {0, 1, 2, …}. The problem originates in the analytic theory of the distribution of prime elements in additive arithmetic semigroups developed by Knopfmacher , and in recent work of Indlekofer , Manstavičius and Warlimont , of Zhang , and of Warlimont . The new results are based on the approximation of g by recurrent sequences and do not assume λ ≥ 0; the method of proof consists in the transition to generating power series and utilizes a weighted version of a Wiener type inversion theorem due to Lucht and Reifenrath .  相似文献

We study classical ensembles of sample covariance matrices introduced by Wishart. We discuss Stein's method for the asymptotic approximation of expectations of functions of the normalized eigenvalue counting measure for high-dimensional matrices. The method is based on a differential equation for the density of the Marchenko-Pastur law. For a fixed (multi)graph H, a graph G is H‐linked if any injection f: V(H)→V(G) can be extended to an H‐subdivision in G. The notion of an H ‐linked graph encompasses several familiar graph classes, including k‐linked, k‐ordered and k‐connected graphs. In this article, we give two sharp Ore‐type degree sum conditions that assure a graph G is H ‐linked for arbitrary H. Existence theorems for the nonlinear parabolic differential equation −∂u/∂t + Δu + |u|p + f(x, t) = 0 in n × [0, ∞) with zero initial value are established given explicit conditions on the nonhomogeneous termf(x, t). Standard facts about separating linear functionals will be used to determine how two cones C and D and their duals C* and D* may overlap. When T: V W is linear and K V and D W are cones, these results will be applied to C = T(K) and D, giving a unified treatment of several theorems of the alternate which explain when C contains an interior point of D. The case when V = W is the space H of n × n Hermitian matrices, D is the n × n positive semidefinite matrices, and T(X) = AX + X* A yields new and known results about the existence of block diagonal X's satisfying the Lyapunov condition: T(X) is an interior point of D. Let L0 be a 2 × 2 diagonal self‐adjoint block operator matrix with entries A and D. If operators B and B* are added to the off diagonal zeros, certain parts of the spectrum of L0 move to the right and other parts move to the left. We study the Maker‐Breaker H‐game played on the edge set of the random graph . In this game two players, Maker and Breaker, alternately claim unclaimed edges of , until all edges are claimed. Maker wins if he claims all edges of a copy of a fixed graph H; Breaker wins otherwise.
