The aim of this paper is to investigate the asymptotic behavior of time-dependent solutions of a three-species reaction–diffusion system in a bounded domain under a Neumann boundary condition. The system governs the population densities of a competitor, a competitor–mutualist and a mutualist, and time delays may appear in the reaction mechanism. It is shown, under a very simple condition on the reaction rates, that the reaction–diffusion system has a unique constant positive steady-state solution, and for any nontrivial nonnegative initial function the corresponding time-dependent solution converges to the positive steady-state solution. An immediate consequence of this global attraction property is that the trivial solution and all forms of semitrivial solutions are unstable. Moreover, the state–state problem has no nonuniform positive solution despite possible spatial dependence of the reaction and diffusion. All the conclusions for the time-delayed system are directly applicable to the system without time delays and to the corresponding ordinary differential system with or without time delays.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with asymptotic stability of a system of reaction-diffusion equations which is expressed in terms of Volterra integrals, under homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. The effect of diffusion and delays on the stability of the system are analyzed, and sufficient conditions are given for the existence of positive solutions of the corresponding steady-state problem. Their global attraction with respect to nonnegative solutions of the time-dependent system is discussed. The main tools are Lyapunov functionals, positive definite kernels, and Laplace transforms.  相似文献

We investigate reaction–diffusion equation with spatio-temporal delays, the global existence, uniqueness and asymptotic behavior of solutions for which in relation to constant steady-state solution, included in the region of attraction of a stable steady solution. It is shown that if the delay reaction function satisfies some conditions and the system possesses a pair of upper and lower solutions then there exists a unique global solution. In terms of the maximal and minimal constant solutions of the corresponding steady-state problem, we get the asymptotic stability of reaction–diffusion equation with spatio-temporal delay. Applying this theory to Lotka–Volterra model with spatio-temporal delay, we get the global solution asymptotically tend to the steady-state problem’s steady-state solution.  相似文献

In this paper, the global behavior of solutions is investigated for a Lotka–Volterra predator–prey system with prey-stage structure. First, we can see that the stability properties of nonnegative equilibria for the weakly coupled reaction–diffusion system are similar to that for the corresponding ODE system, that is, linear self-diffusions do not drive instability. Second, using Sobolev embedding theorems and bootstrap arguments, the existence and uniqueness of nonnegative global classical solution for the strongly coupled cross-diffusion system are proved when the space dimension is less than 10. Finally, the existence and uniform boundedness of global solutions and the stability of the positive equilibrium point for the cross-diffusion system are studied when the space dimension is one. It is found that the cross-diffusion system is dissipative if the diffusion matrix is positive definite. Furthermore, cross diffusions cannot induce pattern formation if the linear diffusion rates are sufficiently large.  相似文献

Using the energy estimate and Gagliardo–Nirenberg-type inequalities, the existence and uniform boundedness of global solutions for a strongly coupled reaction–diffusion system are proved. This system is the Shigesada–Kawasaki–Teramoto three-species cooperating model with self- and cross-population pressure. Meanwhile, some criteria on the global asymptotic stability of the positive equilibrium point for the model are also given by Lyapunov function. As a by-product, we proved that only constant steady states exist if the diffusion coefficients are large enough.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the existence, stability, and global attractivity of time-periodic solutions for a class of coupled parabolic equations in a bounded domain. The problem under consideration includes coupled system of parabolic and ordinary differential equations, and time delays may appear in the nonlinear reaction functions. Our approach to the problem is by the method of upper and lower solutions and its associated monotone iterations. The existence of time-periodic solutions is for a class of locally Lipschitz continuous reaction functions without any quasimonotone requirement using Schauder fixed point theorem, while the stability and attractivity analysis is for quasimonotone nondecreasing and mixed quasimonotone reaction functions using the monotone iterative scheme. The results for the general system are applied to the standard parabolic equations without time delay and to the corresponding ordinary differential system. Applications are also given to three Lotka-Volterra reaction diffusion model problems, and in each problem a sufficient condition on the reaction rates is obtained to ensure the stability and global attractivity of positive periodic solutions.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the existence and asymptotic behavior of periodic solutions for a periodic reaction diffusion system of a planktonic competition model under Dirichlet boundary conditions. The approach to the problem is by the method of upper and lower solutions and the bootstrap argument of Ahmad and Lazer. It is shown under certain conditions that this system has positive or semi-positive periodic solutions. A sufficient condition is obtained to ensure the stability and global attractivity of positive periodic solutions.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with three 3-species time-delayed Lotka-Volterra reaction-diffusion systems and their corresponding ordinary differential systems without diffusion. The time delays may be discrete or continuous, and the boundary conditions for the reaction-diffusion systems are of Neumann type. The goal of the paper is to obtain some simple and easily verifiable conditions for the existence and global asymptotic stability of a positive steady-state solution for each of the three model problems. These conditions involve only the reaction rate constants and are independent of the diffusion effect and time delays. The result of global asymptotic stability implies that each of the three model systems coexists, is permanent, and the trivial and all semitrivial solutions are unstable. Our approach to the problem is based on the method of upper and lower solutions for a more general reaction-diffusion system which gives a common framework for the 3-species model problems. Some global stability results for the 2-species competition and prey-predator reaction-diffusion systems are included in the discussion.  相似文献

This paper deals with the existence and nonexistence of global positive solution to a semilinear reaction-diffusion system with nonlinear boundary conditions. For the heat diffusion case, the necessary and sufficient conditions on the global existence of all positive solutions are obtained. For the general fast diffusion case,we get some conditions on the global existence and nonexistence of positive solutions. The results of this paper fill the some gaps which were left in this field.  相似文献

The reaction–diffusion Gierer–Meinhardt system with a saturation in the activator production is considered. Stability of the unique positive constant steady state solution is analysed, and associated Hopf bifurcations and steady state bifurcations are obtained. A global bifurcation diagram of non-trivial periodic orbits and steady state solutions with respect to key system parameters is obtained, which improves the understanding of dynamics of Gierer–Meinhardt system with a saturation in different parameter regimes.  相似文献

In the Lotka–Volterra competition system with N-competing species if the effect of dispersion and time-delays are both taken into consideration, then the densities of the competing species are governed by a coupled system of reaction–diffusion equations with time-delays. The aim of this paper is to investigate the asymptotic behavior of the time-dependent solution in relation to a positive uniform solution of the corresponding steady-state problem in a bounded domain with Neumann boundary condition, including the existence and uniqueness of a positive steady-state solution. A simple and easily verifiable condition is given to the competing rate constants to ensure the global asymptotic stability of the positive steady-state solution. This result leads to the permanence of the competing system, the instability of the trivial and all forms of semitrivial solutions, and the nonexistence of nonuniform steady-state solution. The condition for the global asymptotic stability is independent of diffusion and time-delays, and the conclusions for the reaction–diffusion system are directly applicable to the corresponding ordinary differential system.  相似文献

This paper deals with a nonlinear diffusion system coupled via nonlinear reaction terms of power type. As results of interactions among the multi-nonlinearities in the system described by six exponents, global boundedness and blow-up criteria of positive solutions are determined.  相似文献

This paper is aimed at studying the formation of patches in a cross-diffusion system without reaction terms when the diffusion matrix can be negative but with positive self-diffusion. We prove existence results for small data and global a priori bounds in space–time Lebesgue spaces for a large class of ‘diffusion’ matrices. This result indicates that blow-up should occur on the gradient. One can tackle this issue using a relaxation system with global solutions and prove uniform a priori estimates. Our proofs are based on a duality argument à la M. Pierre which we extend to treat degeneracy and growth of the diffusion matrix. We also analyze the linearized instability of the relaxation system and a Turing type mechanism can occur. This gives the range of parameters and data for which instability may occur. Numerical simulations show that patterns arise indeed in this range and the solutions tend to exhibit patches with stiff gradients on bounded solutions, in accordance with the theory.  相似文献

This paper deals with a quasilinear parabolic–elliptic chemotaxis system with logistic source, under homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions in a smooth bounded domain. For the case of positive diffusion function, it is shown that the corresponding initial boundary value problem possesses a unique global classical solution which is uniformly bounded. Moreover, if the diffusion function is zero at some point, or a positive diffusion function and the logistic damping effect is rather mild, we proved that the weak solutions are global existence. Finally, it is asserted that the solutions approach constant equilibria in the large time for a specific case of the logistic source.  相似文献

We consider a singular reaction–diffusion system arising in modelling prey–predator interactions in a fragile environment. Since the underlying ODEs system exhibits a complex dynamics including possible finite time quenching, one first provides a suitable notion of global travelling wave weak solution. Then our study focusses on the existence of travelling waves solutions for predator invasion in such environments. We devise a regularized problem to prove the existence of travelling wave solutions for predator invasion followed by a possible co-extinction tail for both species. Under suitable assumptions on the diffusion coefficients and on species growth rates we show that travelling wave solutions are actually positive on a half line and identically zero elsewhere, such a property arising for every admissible wave speeds.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to study the asymptotic behavior of solutions for some reaction–diffusion systems in biology. First, we establish a Liouville type theorem for entire solutions of these reaction–diffusion systems. Based on this theorem, we derive the stabilization of the solutions of the reaction–diffusion system to the unique positive constant state, under the condition that this positive constant state is globally stable in the corresponding kinetic systems. Two specific examples about spreading phenomena from ecology and epidemiology are given to illustrate the application of this theory.  相似文献

A multi-dimensional transient drift-diffusion model for (at most) three charged particles, consisting of the continuity equations for the concentrations of the species and the Poisson equation for the electric potential, is considered. The diffusion terms depend on the concentrations. Such a system arises in electrophoretic modeling of three species (neutrally, positively and negatively charged) and in semiconductor theory for two species (positively charged holes and negatively charged electrons). Diffusion terms of degenerate type are also possible in semiconductor modeling. For the initial boundary value problem with mixed Dirichlet - Neumann boundary conditions and general reaction rates, a global existence result is proved. Uniqueness of solutions follows in the Dirichlet boundary case if the diffusion terms are uniformly parabolic or if the initial and boundary densities are strictly positive. Finally, we prove that solutions exist which are positive uniformly in time and globally bounded if the reaction rates satisfy appropriate growth conditions.  相似文献

The aim of this work is to study the global existence of solutions to a triangular system of reaction–diffusion equations, which describes epidemiological or chemical situations. On the basis of the construction of a suitable Lyapunov functional, we show that for any initial data, classical global solutions exist even when the nonlinearities are of exponential growth.
