Summary The SCR of NO by propane in excess oxygen was studied on a Ni-Al2O3 catalyst prepared by a coprecipitation method. The effect of Ni loading on the catalytic performance was studied and the optimal Ni loading was found to be 4 % (wt.%). Based on characterization results, highly dispersed nickel species in surface aluminate phase was regarded as the active site for NO reduction by C3H8 and NiO phase was the active site for C3H8 oxidation by oxygen.  相似文献

Summary The catalytic activities of Pt-Pd, 0.25 wt.% Mn and 0.56 wt.% Mn coated on Al2O3 pellets during catalytic thermal oxidation and catalytic ozone oxidation were investigated. The results reveal that the activity of catalysts in catalytic ozone oxidation differed substantially from that in catalytic thermal oxidation.   相似文献

In an effort to combine the favorable catalytic properties of Co3O4 and CeO2, nanocomposites with different phase distribution and Co3O4 loading were prepared and employed for CO oxidation. Synthesizing Co3O4-modified CeO2 via three different sol-gel based routes, each with 10.4 wt % Co3O4 loading, yielded three different nanocomposite morphologies: CeO2-supported Co3O4 layers, intermixed oxides, and homogeneously dispersed Co. The reactivity of the resulting surface oxygen species towards CO were examined by temperature programmed reduction (CO-TPR) and flow reactor kinetic tests. The first morphology exhibited the best performance due to its active Co3O4 surface layer, reducing the light-off temperature of CeO2 by about 200 °C. In contrast, intermixed oxides and Co-doped CeO2 suffered from lower dispersion and organic residues, respectively. The performance of Co3O4-CeO2 nanocomposites was optimized by varying the Co3O4 loading, characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and N2 sorption (BET). The 16–65 wt % Co3O4−CeO2 catalysts approached the conversion of 1 wt % Pt/CeO2, rendering them interesting candidates for low-temperature CO oxidation.  相似文献

Summary The activity of co-precipitated NiO-Al2O3 catalyst for partial oxidation of methane in a steel flow reactor was investigated. The catalyst samples loaded with 5, 10 and 20 wt.% nickel before use were thermally treated at 400, 700 and 1100oC. The feed gas for catalytic oxidation was prepared by dilution of natural gas with air, and had approximately the following volume composition: CH4: O2: N2 = 5: 2: 8. The reaction was carried out over 100 mg unreduced NiO-Al2O3 catalyst at gas flow rate of 50 cm3/min at 650oC and atmospheric pressure. The catalyst activity with 5 and 10 wt.% of nickel was very similar, decreasing with enhance of previous heat treatment. Further nickel loading did not increase significantly the catalyst activity compared to low level nickel samples. However, high nickel content has a levelling effect on catalyst activity, suppressing the undesired effect of previous heat treatment at high temperature  相似文献

Non-noble metal Ni with different loadings was coated on precipitated CeO2–ZrO2 support by the sonochemistry method and examined for catalytic wet air oxidation of phenol. The structure of the nanocatalysts was determined by BET, FESEM, XRD, and FTIR analyses. The results showed non-uniform morphology of the nanocatalyst at lower Ni contents changed to homogenous morphology with spherical nano particles at higher Ni contents. While the size of NiO crystals remained constant with rising Ni content, the crystallinity of NiO significantly increased. If the crystallinity of NiO was 100% in 20% wt Ni/CeO2–ZrO2, the crystallinity of NiO in 5% wt Ni was found to be 41.13%. The average particle size in Ni(15%)/CeO2–ZrO2 was 77 nm in which 85.71% of particle diameters were less than 100 nm. Catalytic wet air oxidation of phenol with different Ni loadings indicated improvement of phenol destruction at higher amounts of active phase. Removal of phenol increased with increasing catalyst loading from 4 to 9.0 g/l but further increase to 10 g/l declined the catalyst reactivity.  相似文献

The local structure of vanadium oxide supported on nanostructured SiO2 (VxOy/SBA-15) was investigated by in situ X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS). Because the number of potential parameters in XAS data analysis often exceeds the number of "independent" parameters, evaluating the reliability and significance of a particular fitting procedure is mandatory. The number of independent parameters (Nyquist) may not be sufficient. Hence, in addition to the number of independent parameters, a novel approach to evaluate the significance of structural fitting parameters in XAS data analysis is introduced. Three samples with different V loadings (i.e. 2.7 wt %, 5.4 wt %, and 10.8 wt %) were employed. Thermal treatment in air at 623 K resulted in characteristic structural changes of the V oxide species. Independent of the V loading, the local structure around V centers in dehydrated VxOy/SBA-15 corresponded to an ordered arrangement of adjacent V2O7 units. Moreover, the V2O7 units were found to persist under selective oxidation reaction conditions.  相似文献

Mesoporous RuO2–TiO2 nanocomposites at different RuO2 concentrations (0–10 wt %) are prepared through a simple one‐step sol–gel reaction of tetrabutyl orthotitanate with ruthenium(III) acetylacetonate in the presence of an F127 triblock copolymer as structure‐directing agent. The thus‐formed RuO2–TiO2 network gels are calcined at 450 °C for 4 h leading to mesoporous RuO2–TiO2 nanocomposites. The photocatalytic CH3OH oxidation to HCHO is chosen as the test reaction to examine the photocatalytic activity of the mesoporous RuO2–TiO2 nanocomposites under UV and visible light. The photooxidation of CH3OH is substantially affected by the loading amount and the degree of dispersion of RuO2 particles onto the TiO2, which indicates the exclusive effect of the RuO2 nanoparticles on this photocatalytic reaction under visible light. The measured photonic efficiency ξ=0.53 % of 0.5 wt % RuO2–TiO2 nanocomposite for CH3OH oxidation is maximal and the further increase of RuO2 loading up to 10 wt % gradually decreases this value. The cause of the visible‐light photocatalytic behavior is the incorporation of small amounts of Ru4+ into the anatase lattice. On the other hand, under UV light, undoped TiO2 shows a very good photonic efficiency, which is more than three times that for commercial photocatalyst, P‐25 (Evonik–Degussa); however, addition of RuO2 suppresses the photonic efficiency of TiO2. The proposed reaction mechanism based on the observed behavior of RuO2–TiO2 photocatalysts under UV and visible light is explored.  相似文献

The catalytic activity of Pd/Co3O4 toward methane oxidation has been examined in this study as a function of Pd loading, reaction temperature, space velocity and methane concentration in the reaction gas mixture. The bare oxide is quite active achieving a 100% methane conversion at 480°C under the reaction conditions used. The catalyst with the highest Pd loading tested of 10 wt.% yields the best activity curve, but the 5 wt.% Pd/Co3O4 catalyst performs nearly as well. Complete conversion for this catalyst is attained at 300°C and the activity remains stable over a 90-min test period.  相似文献

The influence of bismuth addition on the activity and selectivity of palladium catalysts supported on SiO2 in the reaction of glucose oxidation to gluconic acid was studied. The catalysts modified with Bi show much better selectivity and activity than palladium catalysts. The XRD studies proved the presence of intermetallic compounds BiPd and Bi2Pd, which probably increase activity and selectivity of PdBi/SiO2 catalysts in the oxidation of glucose. The TPO studies of catalysts containing 5 wt.% Pd/SiO2, 3 wt.% Bi/SiO2 and 5 wt.% Pd–5 wt.% Bi/SiO2 show that palladium oxidation occurs at much higher temperatures than in the case of bismuth. The maximum rate of Pd oxidation occurs at around 580 K while the maximum rate of Bi oxidation takes place at around 430 K. Considering the above facts, a reaction involving bimetallic catalysts in oxidizing atmosphere at 333 K should not lead to surface oxidation of palladium and thus their deactivation.  相似文献

Semiconductor TiO2 particles loaded with WO3 (WO3/TiO2), synthesized by impregnation of tungstic acid followed by calcination, were used for photocatalytic oxidation of alcohols in water with molecular oxygen under irradiation at λ>350 nm. The WO3/TiO2 catalysts promote selective oxidation of alcohols to aldehydes and show higher catalytic activity than pure TiO2. In particular, a catalyst loading 7.6 wt % WO3 led to higher aldehyde selectivity than previously reported photocatalytic systems. The high aldehyde selectivity arises because subsequent photocatalytic decomposition of the formed aldehyde is suppressed on the catalyst. The TiO2 surface of the catalyst, which is active for oxidation, is partially coated by the WO3 layer, which leads to a decrease in the amount of formed aldehyde adsorbed on the TiO2 surface. This suppresses subsequent decomposition of the aldehyde on the TiO2 surface and results in high aldehyde selectivity. The WO3/TiO2 catalyst can selectively oxidize various aromatic alcohols and is reusable without loss of catalytic activity or selectivity.  相似文献

A novel approach to high loaded Pt core/carbon shell catalyst synthesis from a Pt‐aniline complex was reported. The Pt‐aniline complex was successfully synthesized by irradiating an ultrasound to the hexachloro platinic acid and aniline monomer mixture. The highly viscous nature of aniline leads to reproducible hexagonal plate like Pt‐aniline complex crystals. The chemical composition of the Pt‐aniline complex was identified as [PtCl2(C6H5NH2)2] with the help of NMR, XPS, HR ESI‐MS, and TGA analyses. Furthermore, the Pt‐aniline hexagonal plates were sintered at various temperatures like 400 °C, 500 °C, and 700 °C for an hour. This formed the highly dispersed carbon covered Pt nano particles with loading of 80.1 wt %, 81.3 wt %, and 83.4 wt % for HP‐4, HP‐5, and HP‐7, respectively. After supporting it on Vulcan XC‐72, Pt core/carbon shell pyrolyzed at a low temperature showed excellent performance in methanol oxidation reaction. In addition, Pt core/carbon shell prepared at a high temperature revealed excellent tolerance to methanol.  相似文献

Gold particles supported on tin(IV) oxide (0.2 wt % Au/SnO2) were modified with copper and silver by the multistep photodeposition method. Absorption around λ=550 nm, attributed to surface plasmon resonance (SPR) of Au, gradually shifted to longer wavelengths on modification with Cu and finally reached λ=620 nm at 0.8 wt % Cu. On the other hand, the absorption shifted to shorter wavelength with increasing amount of Ag and reached λ=450 nm at 0.8 wt % Ag. These Cu‐ and Ag‐modified 0.2 wt % Au/SnO2 materials (Cu‐Au/SnO2 and Ag‐Au/SnO2) and 1.0 wt % Au/SnO2 were used for mineralization of formic acid to carbon dioxide in aqueous suspension under irradiation with visible light from a xenon lamp and three kinds of light‐emitting diodes with different wavelengths. The reaction rates for the mineralization of formic acid over these materials depend on the wavelength of light. Apparent quantum efficiencies of Cu‐Au/SnO2, Au/SnO2, and Ag‐Au/SnO2 reached 5.5 % at 625 nm, 5.8 % at 525 nm, and 5.1 % at 450 nm, respectively. These photocatalysts can also be used for selective oxidation of alcohols to corresponding carbonyl compounds in aqueous solution under visible‐light irradiation. Broad responses to visible light in formic acid mineralization and selective alcohol oxidation were achieved when the three materials were used simultaneously.  相似文献

The structure of FeOx species supported on γ‐Al2O3 was investigated by using Fe K‐edge X‐ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) and X‐ray diffraction (XRD) measurements. The samples were prepared through the impregnation of iron nitrate on Al2O3 and co‐gelation of aluminum and iron sulfates. The dependence of the XRD patterns on Fe loading revealed the formation of α‐Fe2O3 particles at an Fe loading of above 10 wt %, whereas the formation of iron‐oxide crystals was not observed at Fe loadings of less than 9.0 wt %. The Fe K‐edge XAFS was characterized by a clear pre‐edge peak, which indicated that the Fe?O coordination structure deviates from central symmetry and that the degree of Fe?O?Fe bond formation is significantly lower than that in bulk samples at low Fe loading (<9.0 wt %). Fe K‐edge extended XAFS oscillations of the samples with low Fe loadings were explained by assuming an isolated iron‐oxide monomer on the γ‐Al2O3 surface.  相似文献

The influence of promoters on Pt/SnOx/SiO2 and Au/MnOx low-temperature CO oxidation catalysts has been investigated under stoichiometric reaction conditions with no CO2 added to the feed gas. The performance of Pt/SnOx/SiO2 catalysts is improved significantly by the addition of 1 wt.% Fe but reduced by the addition of 5 wt.%Fe, 1 wt.% Sb, 5 wt.% Sb, 1 wt.% As, 5 wt.%As and 1.8 wt.% P. The performance of Au/MnOx is improved significantly by the addition of 1 at.% Ce but reduced by the addition of 1 at.% Co. For the catalysts and conditions examined, the Au/MnOx catalysts are superior to the Pt/SnOx/SiO2 catalysts with respect to both activity and decay characteristics.  相似文献

A catalyst based on TiO2 and nanodiamond with a 10 wt % palladium content of the catalyst was synthesized. The effect of the nanodiamond content on the catalytic properties in a reaction of CO oxidation at room temperature and low concentrations of CO (<100 mg/m3) was studied. It was established that, at a nanodiamond content of the catalyst from 7 to 9 wt % and a palladium content of 10 wt %, the rate of CO oxidation reached a maximum, and it was higher by a factor of 2.5 than the rate of CO oxidation on a catalyst based on pure TiO2, which included palladium clusters. With the use of transmission electron microscopy, XRD X-ray diffractometry, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, it was found that the clusters of palladium covered with palladium oxide with an average cluster size of 4 nm were formed on the surface of the TiO2 carrier. It was assumed that the catalyst synthesized is promising for applications in catalytic and photocatalytic air-cleaning systems.  相似文献

This work presents some applications of ZrO2 supported over SBA-15 silica as promoter of sulfated zirconia and as support from CuO/CeO2 catalytic system for preferential oxidation of CO to CO2 in hydrogen rich streams, used as feed for proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC). Different amounts of ZrO2, from 10 to 30 wt.% were incorporated. These prepared materials were characterized by powder XRD, adsorption-desorption of N2 at 77 K, transmission and scanning electron microscopy (TEM and SEM) and X-rays photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The acidity was studied by thermo-programmed desorption of ammonia (NH3-TPD). These materials were tested, after treatment with H2SO4, by 2-propanol dehydration and 1-butene isomerization catalytic tests. The samples were found quite good catalyst with strong acid sites, the sample with 20 wt.% of ZrO2 being the better performing sample. Finally this material was successfully used as support for a CuO/CeO2 system, with 6 wt.% of Cu and 20 wt.% of Ce. The resulting catalyst was tested in the preferential oxidation of CO (CO-PROX) attaining conversions close to 100% and high selectivity to CO2.  相似文献

A novel nanocomposite was prepared from ethylene-co-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) and poly-3-hydroxy butyrate-co-valerate (PHBV) in combination with small amounts of [60]Fullerene (C60). The thermal degradation as well as the incorporation effect of C60 on the thermo-oxidative decomposition of EVA/PHBV/C60 nanocomposites was investigated using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). In order to assess the level of stabilization of nanocomposites, the oxidation induction time test was also determined. The obtained results indicated that the dispersion of C60 even at low loading (0.3, 0.5 and 0.7 wt.%) exerts a significant increase on the thermal stability properties of nanocomposite. The oxidation induction time values of nanocomposites were remarkably increased with the increase of C60 amounts. Surprisingly, the oxidation induction time of EVA/PHBV/C60 (0.3 wt.%) is 1643 s higher than that of unfilled EVA/PHBV blend. The flammability properties investigated in pyrolysis combustion flow calorimetry (PCFC) showed that the addition of C60 could prolong the time to peak of Heat Release Rate (pHRR) of around 30 °C compared to EVA/PHBV blend. It was demonstrated that C60 is inhibitor of the thermal and thermo-oxidative degradation of EVA/PHBV blend.  相似文献

Two Au catalysts supported on TiO2 were prepared by impregnation method followed by sodium borohydride reduction or calcination in air (Au/TiO2-R and Au/TiO2-C, respectively). The 1 wt % Au/TiO2-R sample was found to be highly efficient for the oxidation of low concentrated formaldehyde at room temperature. A HCHO conversion of 98.5% was achieved with this catalyst, whereas the Au/TiO2-C sample showed almost no activity under the same conditions. Highly dispersed metallic Au nanoparticles with small size (∼3.5 nm) were identified in the 1 wt % Au/TiO2-R catalyst. A significant negative shift of Au4f peak in XPS spectra with respect to bulk metallic Au was observed for the 1 wt % Au/TiO2-R but no similar phenomena was found for the heat-treated catalyst. More Au nanoparticles and higher content of surface active oxygen were identified on the surface of the Au/TiO2-R in comparison with the Au/TiO2-C, suggesting that the Au/TiO2-R catalyst can enhance the amount of active sites and species involved in for HCHO oxidation. The reduction treatment by sodium borohydride promotes the formation of dispersed metallic Au nanoparticles with small size because it facilitates the electron transfer and increases the content of surface Au nanoparticles and activated oxygen. All these factors are responsible for a high activity of this catalyst in the oxidation of HCHO.  相似文献

Catalytic combustion of chlorobenzene over supported vanadium oxides has been investigated. TiO2 was prepared by the sol-gel method from titanium isopropoxide. The supported vanadium oxide catalysts have been prepared by precipitation-deposition and impregnation method and characterized by XRD, FT-Raman and TPR. In the VOx/TiO2catalysts prepared using the impregnation method, when vanadium loading reaches 3 wt.%, the activity shows a maximum. However, in the VOx/TiO2catalysts prepared by precipitation-deposition, when vanadium loading reaches 7 wt.%, the activity shows a maximum. This result suggests that the precipitation-deposition can yield a higher metal loading on the support and a high dispersion compared to the impregnation method. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献
