By implementing a time-independent, nonperturbative many-electron, many-photon theory (MEMPT), cycle-averaged complex eigenvalues were obtained for the He atom, whose real part gives the field-induced energy shift, Δ(ω 1, F 1 2, F 2,ϕ), and the imaginary part is the multiphoton ionization rate, Γ(ω 1, F 1 2, F 2,ϕ), where ω is the frequency, F is the field strength and ϕ is the phase difference. Through analysis and computation we show that, provided the intensities are weak, the dependence of Γ(ω 1, F 1 2, F 2,ϕ) on ϕ is simple. Specifically, for odd harmonics, Γ varies linearly with cos(ϕ) whilst for even harmonics it varies linearly with cos(2ϕ). In addition, this dependence on ϕ holds for Δ(ω 1, F 1 2, F 2,ϕ) as well. These relations may turn out to be applicable to other atomic systems as well, and to provide a definition of the weak field regime in the dichromatic case. When the combination of (ω 1, F 1) and (ω 2, F 2) is such that higher powers of cos(ϕ) and cos(2ϕ) become important, these rules break down and we reach the strong field regime. The herein reported results refer to Γ(ω 1, F 1 2, F 2,ϕ) and Δ(ω 1, F 1 2, F 2,ϕ) for He irradiated by a dichromatic ac-field consisting of the fundamental wavelength λ = 248 nm and its 2nd, 3rd and 4th higher harmonics. The intensities are in the range 1.0×1012-3.5×1014 W/cm2, with the intensity of the harmonics being 1-2 orders of magnitude smaller. The calculations incorporated systematically electronic structure and electron correlation effects in the discrete and in the continuous spectrum, for 1S, 1P, 1D, 1F, 1G, and 1H two-electron states of even and odd parity. We consider the effect of Coulomb interactions on the average density of states (DOS) of disordered low-dimensional metals for temperatures T and frequencies ω smaller than the inverse elastic life-time 1/τ. Using the fact that long-range Coulomb interactions in two dimensions (2d) generate ln2-singularities in the DOS ν(ω) but only ln-singularities in the conductivity σ(ω), we can re-sum the most singular contributions to the average DOS via a simple gauge-transformation. If σ(ω) > 0, then a metallic Coulomb gapν(ω) ∝ |ω|/e 4 appears in the DOS at T = 0 for frequencies below a certain crossover frequency Ω 2 which depends on the value of the DC conductivity σ(0). Here, - e is the charge of the electron. Naively adopting the same procedure to calculate the DOS in quasi 1d metals, we find ν(ω) ∝ (|ω|/Ω 1)1/2exp(- Ω 1/|ω|) at T = 0, where Ω 1 is some interaction-dependent frequency scale. However, we argue that in quasi 1d the above gauge-transformation method is on less firm grounds than in 2d. We also discuss the behavior of the DOS at finite temperatures and give numerical results for the expected tunneling conductance that can be compared with experiments. The longitudinal and transverse nuclear magnetic relaxation rates 1/T 1(T) and 1/T 2(T) are calculated for three- and two-dimensional (3D and 2D) metallic ferro- and antiferromagnets (FM and AFM) with localized magnetic moments in the spin-wave temperature region. The contribution of the one-magnon decay processes is strongly enhanced in comparison with the standard T-linear Korringa term, especially for the FM case. For the 3D AFM case this contribution diverges logarithmically, the divergence being cut at the magnon gap ω due to magnetic anisotropy, and for the 2D AFM case as ω-1. The electron-magnon scattering processes yield T 2ln(T) and T 21/2-terms in 1/T 1 for the 3D AFM and 2D FM cases, respectively. The two-magnon (“Raman”) contributions are investigated and demonstrated to be large in the 2D FM case. Peculiarities of the isotropic 2D limit (where the correlation length is very large) are analyzed. Received 29 November 1999 and Received in final form 6 June 2000  相似文献

We derive a microscopic transport theory of multiterminal hybrid structures in which a superconductor is connected to several spin-polarized electrodes. We discuss the non-perturbative physics of extended contacts, and show that such contacts can be well represented by averaging out the phase of the electronic wave function. The intercontact Andreev reflection and elastic cotunneling conductances are identical if the phase can be averaged out, namely in the presence of at least one extended contact. The maximal conductance of a two-channel contact is proportional to (e 2/h)(a 0/D)2exp[-D/ξ(ω*)], where D is the distance between the contacts, a0 the lattice spacing, ξ(ω) is the superconducting coherence length, and ω* is the cross-over frequency between a perturbative regime ( ω < ω*) and a non perturbative regime ( ω* < ω < Δ). The double differential dilepton spectrum d/(d 2 d 2) at fixed transverse mass M allows a direct access to the vector meson spectral functions. Within a fireball model the sensitivity of d/(d 2 d 2) against variations of both the in-medium properties of mesons and the dynamics of the fireball is investigated. In contrast to the integrated invariant-mass spectrum d/d 2, in the spectrum d/(d 2 d 2) with fixed M the ω signal is clearly seen as bump riding on the ρ background even in case of strong in-medium modifications.[3mm] Received: 16 November 2000 / Accepted: 16 January 2001  相似文献

Using a mean-field approximation, we have developed a systematic treatment of collective electronic modes in a semiconductor superlattice (SL) in the presence of strong electric and magnetic fields parallel to the SL axis. The spectrum of collective modes with zero wavevector along the SL axis is shown to consist of a principle magnetoplasmon mode and an infinite set of Bernstein-like modes. For non-zero wavevector along the SL axis, in addition to the cyclotron modes, extra collective modes are found at the frequencies |Nω c±Mω s|, which we call cyclotron-Stark modes (ω c and ω s are respectively the cyclotron and Stark frequencies, N and M are integer numbers). The frequencies of the modes propagating in “oblique” direction with respect to the SL axis show oscillatory behavior as a function of electric field strength. All the modes considered have very weak spatial dispersion and they are not Landau damped. The specific predictions made for the dispersion relations of the collective excitations should be observable in resonant Raman scattering experiments. The decay of the 17 μs isomer of 133Sb was re-investigated experimentally. It was produced by thermal neutron induced fission of 241Pu. Its detection is based on time correlation between fission fragments selected by the LOHENGRIN spectrometer at ILL (Grenoble), and the γ-rays, and conversion electrons from the isomer. The interpretation of the level scheme is based on shell model calculations, where empirical two-body matrix elements were employed. The good agreement between theory and experiment suggests that the isomer is the 21/2+ member of the 2p-1h πg 7/2ν(f 7/2 h 11/2 −1) configuration. Eighteen previously unknown γ-ray transitions were identified in the T z = - 1/2 nucleus 51Fe following the fusion-evaporation reaction 32S(28Si,2α1n)51Fe. The level scheme reaches the fully aligned I π = 27/2- terminating state of the five holes in the f 7/2 shell. The 17/2- state was found to be isomeric, and the lifetime was measured to be 2.87 ns. The mirror symmetry of 51Fe and 51Mn is discussed, and the level scheme of 51Fe is compared to shell-model calculations. Received: 20 July 2000 / Accepted: 1 August 2000  相似文献

In this work we have identified and studied the decay of two new microsecond isomers 19/2- and 23/2+ in 131Sb. This neutron-rich nucleus was produced by thermal neutron-induced fission of 241Pu. The detection is based on time correlation between fission fragments selected by the LOHENGRIN spectrometer at ILL (Grenoble) and the γ-rays or conversion electrons from isomers. These new data on high-spin states complete the level scheme previously obtained from β-decay. A large fraction of the members of the πg 7/2ν(h 11/2 -1 d 3/2 -1) and πg 7/2νh 11/2 -2 multiplets are now known and were compared with a multi-particle shell model calculation. Simulations based on a coupled-channel transport model have been performed to analyze the feasibility to study the in-medium ω mass exploiting the process γ + A→π0γ + X for C, Ca and Nb nuclei. The distortions due to final-state interactions of the π0 and background contributions from the reaction γ + A→π0π0 + X are found to be small in the mass range of interest ( 0.6 < M π0γ < 0.8 GeV). Furthermore, the effect of the detector resolution on the π0γ mass determination is discussed. Received: 5 December 2000 / Accepted: 18 May 2001  相似文献

Electron scattering Coulomb form factors for the single-particle quadrupole transitions in p-shell and sd-shell nuclei have been studied. Core polarization effects are included through a microscopic theory that includes excitations from the core orbits up to higher orbits with 2ω excitations. The modified surface delta interaction is adopted as a residual interaction. The results are discussed for the ( 1p 1/2 -1↦1p 3/2 -1) proton transition in 15N, ( 1d 5/2↦2s 1/2) neutron transition in 17O and ( 1d 3/2 -1↦2s 1/2 -1) proton transition in 39K. The inclusion of core polarization effects modifies the form factors markedly and describes the experimental data very well in both the absolute strength and the momentum transfer dependence. The possibility for an observation of a narrow penta-quark Z+-baryon in NN reactions is discussed. It is shown that the ppnΣ+ K + reaction at excess energies around 100 MeV above threshold provides optimal conditions for Z+-baryon detection by an analysis of the nK+ invariant mass spectrum, if the Z+ mass is located around 1.5 GeV involving a rather narrow width. A ππ, ˉKK, and ρρ(ωω) fully coupled channel model is used to predict the lowest isospin S, P, D, F-wave phase shifts and inelasticities for elastic ππ scattering from threshold to 2.0 GeV. As input the S-matrix is required to exhibit poles corresponding to the meson resonance table of the Particle Data Group. As expected, the ππ inelasticity is very strongly related to the opening of the ˉK channel near 1 GeV, and the opening of ρρ(4π) and ωω(6π) channels in the 1.5 GeV region. The predictions of this model are compared to the various elastic ππ→ππ amplitudes, that were obtained from analyses of π p →ππ+n data. The role of the various resonances, in particular the glueball candidate f 0(1500) and the f J(1710) is investigated. Received: 19 November 1997  相似文献

We have measured the storage instabilities of electrons in a Penning trap at low magnetic fields. These measurements are carried out as a function of the trapping voltage, for different magnetic fields. It is seen that these instabilities occur at the same positions when the trapping voltage is expressed as a percentage of the maximum voltage, given by the stability limit. The characteristic frequencies at which these instabilities occur, obey a relation that is given by n zω z + n +ω + + n -ω - = 0, where ω z, ω + and ω - are the axial, perturbed cyclotron and the magnetron frequencies of the trapped electrons respectively, and the n's are integers. The reason for these instabilities are attributed to higher order static perturbations in the trapping potential. The effective linear and nonlinear optical properties of metal/dielectric composite media, in which ellipsoidal metal inclusions are distributed in shape, are investigated. The shape distribution function P(L x, L y) is assumed to be 2Δ-2θ(L x - 1/3 + Δ/3)θ(L y - 1/3 + Δ/3)θ(2/3 + Δ/3 - L x - L y), where θ( . . . ) is the Heaviside function, Δ is the shape variance and Li are the depolarization factors of the ellipsoidal inclusions along i-symmetric axes (i = x, y). Within the spectral representation, we adopt Maxwell-Garnett type approximation to study the effect of shape variance Δ on the effective nonlinear optical properties. Numerical results show that both the effective linear optical absorption α ∼ ωIm() and the modulus of the effective third-order optical nonlinearity enhancement |χ(3) e|/χ(3) 1 exhibit the nonmonotonic behavior with Δ. Moreover, with increasing Δ, the optical absorption and the nonlinearity enhancement bands become broad, accompanied with the decrease of their peaks. The adjustment of Δ from 0 to 1 allows us to examine the crossover behavior from no separation to large separation between optical absorption and nonlinearity enhancement peaks. As Δ → 0, i.e., the ellipsoidal shape deviates slightly from the spherical one, the dependence of |χ(3) e|/χ(3) 1 on Δ becomes strong first and then weak with increasing the imaginary part of inclusions' dielectric constant. In the dilute limit, the exact formula for the effective optical nonlinearity is derived, and the present approximation characterizes the exact results better than old mean field one does. 74Ge beam was Coulomb-excited on a natPb target. Ten E2 matrix elements including diagonal matrix elements for 5 low-lying states have been determined using the least-squares search code GOSIA. The expectation values of the rotational invariants 〈Q 2〉 and 〈cos3δ〉 show the small and triaxial deformation of the two lowest members of the ground-state band , while the 02 + and 22 + states are found to be almost spherical. The onset of surface fluidization of granular material in a vertically vibrated container, z = A cosωt , is studied experimentally. Recently, for a column of spheres it has been theoretically found (see T. P?schel, T. Schwager, C. Salue na, Phys. Rev. E 62, 1361 (2000)) that the particles lose contact if a certain condition for the acceleration amplitude ≡Aω2/g = f (ω) holds. This result is in disagreement with other findings where the criterion = = const was found to be the criterion of fluidization. We show that for a column of spheres a critical acceleration is not a proper criterion for fluidization and compare the results with theory. We characterize in details the aging properties of the ferroelectric phase of KTa1-xNbx O3 (KTN), where both rejuvenation and (partial) memory are observed. In particular, we carefully examine the frequency dependence of several quantities that characterize aging, rejuvenation and memory. We find a marked subaging behaviour, with an a.c. dielectric susceptiblity scaling as ω, where t w is the waiting time. We suggest an interpretation in terms of pinned domain walls, much along the lines proposed for aging in a disordered ferromagnet, where both domain wall reconformations and overall (cumulative) domain growth are needed to rationalize the experimental findings. The parameters of the σ-ω-ρ model in the relativistic mean-field theory with nonlinear σ-meson self-interaction are determined by nuclear-matter properties, which are taken as those extracted by fits to data based on nonrelativistic nuclear models. The values of the relevant parameters are C σ 2∼ 94, C ω 2∼ 32, C ρ 2∼ 26, b∼ - 0.09, c∼ 1, and the σ-meson mass m σ∼ 370 MeV, while the value of the calculated nuclear- surface thickness is t∼ 1.4 fm. The field system is shown to be stable, since the σ-meson self-interaction energy is a lower bound in this whole parameter region with positive c. On the other hand, the effective nucleon mass M* is larger than 0.73M, if the symmetry incompressibility Ks is assumed to be negative and the nuclear-matter incompressibility K0 is kept less than 300 MeV.
