Transition‐metal carbene complexes have been known for about 50 years and widely applied as reagents and catalysts in organic transformations. In contrast, the carbene chemistry of the rare‐earth metals is much less developed, but has attracted the research interest in the recent years. In this field rare‐earth‐metal alkylidene, especially methylidene, compounds are an emerging class of compounds with a high synthetic potential for organometallic chemistry and maybe in the future also for organic chemistry.  相似文献

A series of asymmetric catalysts composed of conformationally flexible amide‐based chiral ligands and rare‐earth metals was developed for proton‐transfer catalysis. These ligands derived from amino acids provide an intriguing chiral platform for the formation of asymmetric catalysts upon complexation with rare‐earth metals. The scope of this arsenal of catalysts was further broadened by the development of heterobimetallic catalytic systems. The cooperative function of hydrogen bonding and metal coordination resulted in intriguing substrate specificity and stereocontrol, and the dynamic nature of the catalysts led to a switch of their function. Herein, we summarize our recent exploration of this class of catalysts.  相似文献

The half‐open rare‐earth‐metal aluminabenzene complexes [(1‐Me‐3,5‐tBu2‐C5H3Al)(μ‐Me)Ln(2,4‐dtbp)] (Ln=Y, Lu) are accessible via a salt metathesis reaction employing Ln(AlMe4)3 and K(2,4‐dtbp). Treatment of the yttrium complex with B(C6F5)3 and tBuCCH gives access to the pentafluorophenylalane complex [{1‐(C6F5)‐3,5‐tBu2‐C5H3Al}{μ‐C6F5}Y{2,4‐dtbp}] and the mixed vinyl acetylide complex [(2,4‐dtbp)Y(μ‐η13‐2,4‐tBu2‐C5H4)(μ‐CCtBu)AlMe2], respectively.  相似文献

A new class of rare‐earth‐metal alkynyl complexes has been prepared. The reactions of the tris(tetramethylaluminate)s of lanthanum, praseodymium, samarium, yttrium, holmium, and thulium, [Ln(AlMe4)3], with phenylacetylene afforded compounds [Ln{(μ‐C?CPh)2AlMe2}3] (Ln=La ( 1 ), Pr ( 2 ), Sm ( 3 ), Y ( 4 ), Ho ( 5 ), Tm ( 6 )). All of these compounds have been characterized by NMR spectroscopy, X‐ray crystallography, and by elemental analysis. NMR spectroscopic studies of the series of para‐ magnetic compounds [Ln(AlMe4)3] and [Ln{(μ‐C?CPh)2AlMe2}3] have also been performed.  相似文献

The [3+1] fragmentation reaction of rare‐earth metallacyclopentadienes 1 a – c with 0.5 equivalents of P4 affords a series of rare‐earth metal cyclo‐P3 complexes 2 a – c and a phospholyl anion 3. 2 a – c demonstrate an unusual η3 coordination mode with one P−P bond featuring partial π‐bonding character. 2 a – c are the first cyclo‐P3 complexes of rare‐earth metals, and also the first organo‐substituted polyphosphides in the category of Group 3 and f‐block elements. Rare‐earth metallacyclopentadienes play a dual role in the combination of aromatization and Diels–Alder reaction. Compounds 2 a – c can coordinate to one or two [W(CO)5] units, yielding 4 a – c or 5 c , respectively. Furthermore, oxidation of 2 a with p ‐benzoquinone produces its corresponding phospholyllithium and regenerated P4.  相似文献

The polymerization of ocimene has been first achieved by half‐sandwich rare‐earth metal dialkyl complexes in combination with activator and AliBu3. The regio‐ and stereoselectivity in the ocimene polymerization can be controlled by tuning the cyclopentadienyl ligand and the central metal of the complex. The chiral cyclopentadienyl‐ligated Sc complex 1 prepares syndiotactic cis‐1,4‐polyocimene (cis‐1,4‐selectivity up to 100%, rrrr = 100%), while the corresponding Lu, Y, and Dy complexes 2 – 4 and the achiral pentamethylcyclopentadienyl Sc, Lu, and Y complexes 5 – 7 afford isotactic trans‐1,2‐polyocimenes (trans‐1,2‐selectivity up to 100%, mm = 100%).

The treatment of the recently reported potassium salt (S)‐N,N′‐bis‐(1‐phenylethyl)benzamidinate ((S)‐KPEBA) and its racemic isomer (rac‐KPEBA) with anhydrous lanthanide trichlorides (Ln=Sm, Er, Yb, Lu) afforded mostly chiral complexes. The tris(amidinate) complex [{(S)‐PEBA}3Sm], bis(amidinate) complexes [{Ln(PEBA)2(μ‐Cl)}2] (Ln=Sm, Er, Yb, Lu), and mono(amidinate) compounds [Ln(PEBA)(Cl)2(thf)n] (Ln=Sm, Yb, Lu) were isolated and structurally characterized. As a result of steric effects, the homoleptic 3:1 complexes of the smaller lanthanide atoms Yb and Lu were not accessible. Furthermore, chiral bis(amidinate)–amido complexes [{(S)‐PEBA}2Ln{N(SiMe3)2}] (Ln=Y, Lu) were synthesized by an amine‐elimination reaction and salt metathesis. All of these chiral bis‐ and tris(amidinate) complexes had additional axial chirality and they all crystallized as diastereomerically pure compounds. By using rac‐PEBA as a ligand, an achiral meso arrangement of the ligands was observed. The catalytic activities and enantioselectivities of [{(S)‐PEBA}2Ln{N(SiMe3)2}] (Ln=Y, Lu) were investigated in hydroamination/cyclization reactions. A clear dependence of the rate of reaction and enantioselectivity on the ionic radius was observed, which showed higher reaction rates but poorer enantioselectivities for the yttrium compound.  相似文献

Developing a synthetic method to target an broad spectrum of unknown phases can lead to fascinating discoveries. The preparation of the first rare‐earth‐metal nitridophosphate LiNdP4N8 is reported. High‐pressure solid‐state metathesis between LiPN2 and NdF3 was employed to yield a highly crystalline product. The in situ formed LiF is believed to act both as the thermodynamic driving force and as a flux to aiding single‐crystal formation in dimensions suitable for crystal structure analysis. Magnetic properties stemming from Nd3+ ions were measured by SQUID magnetometry. LiNdP4N8 serves as a model system for the exploration of rare‐earth‐metal nitridophosphates that may even be expanded to transition metals. High‐pressure metathesis enables the systematic study of these uncharted regions of nitride‐based materials with unprecedented properties.  相似文献

The hexanitratolanthanate anion (La(NO3)63?) is an interesting symmetric anion suitable to construct the component of water‐free rare‐earth‐metal ionic liquids. The syntheses and structural characterization of eleven lanthanum nitrate complexes, [Cnmim]3[La(NO3)6] (n=1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, 14, 16, 18), including 1,3‐dimethylimidazolium hexanitratolanthanate ([C1mim]3[La(NO3)6], 1 ), 1‐ethyl‐3‐methylimidazolium hexanitratolanthanate ([C2mim]3[La(NO3)6], 2 ), 1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium hexanitratolanthanate ([C4mim]3[La(NO3)6], 3 ), 1‐isobutyl‐3‐methylimidazolium hexanetratolanthanate ([isoC4mim]3[La(NO3)6], 4 ), 1‐methyl‐3‐(3′‐methylbutyl)imidazolium hexanitratolanthanate ([MC4mim]3[La(NO3)6], 5 ), 1‐hexyl‐3‐methylimidazolium hexanitratolanthanate ([C6mim]3[La(NO3)6], 6 ), 1‐methyl‐3‐octylimidazolium hexanitratolanthanate ([C8mim]3[La(NO3)6], 7 ), 1‐dodecyl‐3‐methylimidazolium hexanitratolanthanate ([C12mim]3[La(NO3)6], 8 ), 1‐methyl‐3‐tetradecylimidazolium hexanitratolanthanate ([C14mim]3[La‐(NO3)6], 9 ), 1‐hexadecyl‐3‐methylimid‐azolium hexanitratolanthanum ([C16dmim]3[La(NO3)6], 10 ), and 1‐methyl‐3‐octadecylimidazolium hexanitratolanthanate ([C18mim]3[La(NO3)6], 11 ) are reported. All new compounds were characterized by 1H and 13C NMR, and IR spectroscopy as well as elemental analysis. The crystal structure of compound 1 was determined by using single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction, giving the following crystallographic information: monoclinic; P21/c; a=15.3170 (3), b=14.2340 (2), c=13.8954(2) Å; β=94.3453(15)°, V=3020.80(9) Å3, Z=4, ρ=1.764 g cm?3. The coordination polyhedron around the lanthanum ion is rationalized by six nitrate anions with twelve oxygen atoms. No hydrogen‐bonding network or water molecule was found in 1 . The thermodynamic stability of the new complexes was investigated by using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The water‐free hexanitratolanthanate ionic liquids are thermal and moisture stable. Four complexes, namely complexes 8 – 11 , were found to be ionic liquid crystals by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and polarizing optical microscopy (POM). They all present smectic A liquid‐crystalline phase.  相似文献

Herein, we report the synthesis of a series of heteroleptic magnesium complexes stabilized with the scorpionate ligand tris(2-pyridylthio)methanide (Tptm). The compounds of the general formula [Mg(Tptm)(X)] (1-X; X = Cl, Br, I) were obtained via protonolysis reaction between the proligand and selected Grignard reagents. Attempts to isolate the potassium derivative K(Tptm) lead to decomposition of Tptm and formation of the alkene (C5H4N-S)2C=C(C5H4N-S)2, and this degradation was also modelled using DFT methods. Compound 1-I was treated with K(CH2Ph), affording the degradation product [Mg(Bptm)2] (2; Bptm = {CH(S-C5NH3)2}). We analyzed and quantified the steric properties of the Tptm ligand using the structural information of the compounds obtained in this study paired with buried volume calculations, also adding the structural data of HTptm and its CF3-substituted congener (HTptmCF3). These studies highlight the highly flexible nature of this ligand scaffold and its ability to stabilize various coordination motifs and geometries, which is a highly desirable feature in the design of novel organometallic reagents and catalysts.  相似文献

The reaction of the donor‐functionalised N,N‐bis(2‐{pyrid‐2‐yl}ethyl)hydroxylamine and [LnCp3] (Cp=cyclopentadiene) resulted in the formation of bis(cyclopentadienyl) hydroxylaminato rare‐earth metal complexes of the general constitution [Ln(C5H5)2{ON(C2H4o‐Py)2}] (Py= pyridyl) with Ln=Lu ( 1 ), Y ( 2 ), Ho ( 3 ), Sm ( 4 ), Nd ( 5 ), Pr ( 6 ), La ( 7 ). These compounds were characterised by elemental analysis, mass spectrometry, NMR spectroscopy (for compounds 1 , 2 , 4 and 7 ) and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction experiments. The complexes exhibit three different aggregation modes and binding motifs in the solid state. The late rare‐earth metal atoms (Lu, Y, Ho and Sm) form monomeric complexes of the formula [Ln(C5H5)22‐ON(C2H4‐η1o‐Py)(C2H4o‐Py)}] ( 1 – 4 , respectively), in which one of the pyridyl nitrogen donor atoms is bonded to the metal atom in addition to the side‐on coordinating hydroxylaminato unit. The larger Nd3+ and Pr3+ ions in 5 and 6 make the hydroxylaminato unit capable of dimerising through the oxygen atoms. This leads to the dimeric complexes [(Ln(C5H5)2{μ‐η12‐ON(C2H4o‐Py)2})2] without metal–pyridine bonds. Compound 7 exhibits a dimeric coordination mode similar to the complexes 5 and 6 , but, in addition, two pyridyl functions coordinate to the lanthanum atoms leading to the [(La(C5H5)2{ON(C2H4o‐Py)}{μ‐η12‐ON(C2H4‐η1o‐Py)})2] complex. The aggregation trend is directly related to the size of the metal ions. The complexes with coordinative pyridine–metal bonds show highly dynamic behaviour in solution. The two pyridine nitrogen atoms rapidly change their coordination to the metal atom at ambient temperature. Variable‐temperature (VT) NMR experiments showed that this dynamic exchange can be frozen on the NMR timescale.  相似文献

Molecular hydrides of the rare‐earth metals play an important role as homogeneous catalysts and as counterparts of solid‐state interstitial hydrides. Structurally well‐characterized non‐metallocene‐type hydride complexes allow the study of elementary reactions that occur at rare‐earth‐metal centers and of catalytic reactions involving bonds between rare‐earth metals and hydrides. In addition to neutral hydrides, cationic derivatives have now become available.  相似文献

The dissolution process of metal complexes in ionic liquids was investigated by a multiple‐technique approach to reveal the solvate species of the metal in solution. The task‐specific ionic liquid betainium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide ([Hbet][Tf2N]) is able to dissolve stoichiometric amounts of the oxides of the rare‐earth elements. The crystal structures of the compounds [Eu2(bet)8(H2O)4][Tf2N]6, [Eu2(bet)8(H2O)2][Tf2N]6?2H2O, and [Y2(bet)6(H2O)4][Tf2N]6 were found to consist of dimers. These rare‐earth complexes are well soluble in the ionic liquids [Hbet][Tf2N] and [C4mim][Tf2N] (C4mim=1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium). The speciation of the metal complexes after dissolution in these ionic liquids was investigated by luminescence spectroscopy, 1H, 13C, and 89Y NMR spectroscopy, and by the synchrotron techniques EXAFS (extended X‐ray absorption fine structure) and HEXS (high‐energy X‐ray scattering). The combination of these complementary analytical techniques reveals that the cationic dimers decompose into monomers after dissolution of the complexes in the ionic liquids. Deeper insight into the solution processes of metal compounds is desirable for applications of ionic liquids in the field of electrochemistry, catalysis, and materials chemistry.  相似文献

Upconversion emissions from rare‐earth nanoparticles have attracted much interest as potential biolabels, for which small particle size and high emission intensity are both desired. Herein we report a facile way to achieve NaYF4:Yb,Er@CaF2 nanoparticles (NPs) with a small size (10–13 nm) and highly enhanced (ca. 300 times) upconversion emission compared with the pristine NPs. The CaF2 shell protects the rare‐earth ions from leaking, when the nanoparticles are exposed to buffer solution, and ensures biological safety for the potential bioprobe applications. With the upconversion emission from NaYF4:Yb,Er@CaF2 NPs, HeLa cells were imaged with low background interference.  相似文献
