Synthesis of hydrogenated indazole derivatives starting with α,β-unsaturated ketones and hydrazine derivatives

The reaction of hydrazine derivatives with α,β-unsaturated ketones, such as cyclohexenyl(phenyl)methanone and (E)-2-benzylidenecyclohexanone, were investigated.The reaction between methylhydrazine and e.g., cyclohexenyl(phenyl)methanone was particularly interesting as 3a,4,5,6,7,7a-hexahydro-1-methyl-3-phenyl-1H-indazole was obtained as the major product together with 4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-2-methyl-3-phenyl-2H-indazole as a minor product.

From 2011 to 2022: The development of pyrazole derivatives through the α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds

The synthesis of pyrazole derivative using α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds has attracted increasing attention of the synthetic organic chemist community. Interestingly, the simplicity of the synthetic method, high reactivity, and ease of incorporating diversity into the desired prototype have contributed a lot toward the exploration of α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds by various research groups. Due to the tremendous pharmacological significance of pyrazole derivatives, their synthesis has been one of the leading research frontiers in recent years. As prime examples, sildenafil, zometapin, Celebrex, and rimonabant have been successfully commercialized in the market to treat various life-challenging diseases. Considering the great profile of α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compound in the synthesis of biologically active pyrazole derivatives, this review incorporates contemporary literature (2011–2022) on the synthesis of pyrazole and its derivatives using α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compound as a starting precursor.     

Synthesis and biological activity of α-alkylacrolein dimers and their derivatives

Dimers of methacrolein and α-ethylacrolein have been obtained and undergo a Cannizzaro reaction to the corresponding pyran alcohols and sodium salts of pyran acids. Oxidation of the α-ketol and enone derivatives of cyclohexanone by tetrazolium salts

A new red-ox reaction, leading to the respective keto derivatives from α-ketol and enone derivatives of cyclohexanone, is reported.     

Synthesis of epoxycarbonyl pyrroline derivatives by cycloaddition of benzonitriliop-nitrophenyl-methanide toα,β-unsaturated epoxy ketones

The cycloaddition reaction of benzonitriliop-nitrophenylmethanide to , -unsaturated epoxy ketones gives a mixture of stereoisomeric epoxycarbonyl pyrrolines. Only one of the isomers was isolated as pure compound. Synthesis of symmetrical acetylenic hydrocarbons and their α,ω-di-derivatives from α,α,α-trichloro- and α,α,α,ω-tetrachloro-alkanes

Summary By the action of sodium in xylene on polychloro hydrocarbons containing -CCl₂-CCl₂- or- CC1=CC1-, groupings the corresponding symmetrical acetylenic hydrocarbons containing 10,14, and 18 carbon atoms in the molecule were obtained. From ,-disubstituted tetrachloroalkanes by the same method 1,10-diethoxy-5-decyne, 1,14-diethoxy-7-tetradecyne, and 1,14-bisdiethylamino-7-tetradecyne were obtained.The spectra were determined in the Optical Laboratory of the Institute of Heteroorganic Compounds of the USSR by N. Synthesis and transformations of the 20-substituted derivatives of 16α,17α-epoxy-5α-pregnane-3Β,21-diol-20-ones

A new and more effective sequence of reactions is proposed for the production of 16,17-isopropylidenedioxy-5-pregnane-3,21-diol-20-one. It uses methods previously unused for 5-H-steroids and involves 21-hydroxylation of 16,17-epoxy-5-pregnan-3-ol-20-one with diacetoxyiodobenzene and cis-opening of the obtained 21-hydroxy-16,17-epoxy-5-pregnane-3,21-diol-20-one by acetic acid in the presence of epoxycarbonylhydrazine, followed by condensation of the obtained product with acetone.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 5, pp. 1185–1188, May, 1991.     

Reactions of cyclopentanone, γ-butyrolactone,and their derivatives with α-hydroxyethyl radicals

The interaction of cyclopentanone, 2-cyclopentenone, 1,3-cyclopentanedione, 3-methyl-1,2-cyclopentanedione, γ-butyrolactone, 2(5H)-furanone, ascorbic acid, and 5,6-O-isopropylidenyl-2,3-O-dimethylascorbic acid with α-hydroxyethyl radicals (α-HER) generated during the radiolysis of deaerated ethanol has been studied in the continuous irradiation mode. The test compounds, except γ-butyrolactone, oxidize α-HER. 2(5H)-Furanone and 2-cyclopentenone give hydroxyethylation products via the free-radical chain mechanism. In contrast to 2(5H)-furanone and 2-cyclopentenone, ascorbic and 5,6-O-isopropylidenyl-2,3-O-dimethyl-L-ascorbic acids are weaker oxidants for α-HER and attach these radicals at the multiple carbon-carbon bonds.     

The reduction of α,β-unsaturated nitriles and α-halonitriles with sodium hydrogen telluride

Sodium hydrogen telluride reacts chemoselectively with α,β-unsaturated nitriles and α-halonitriles linked to aromatic and aliphatic substituents to give the corresponding saturated nitriles with good yields.     

The Preparation of α-Phosphonovinylzirconocenes and their Application in the Stereospecific Synthesis of α-Halo-l-alkenylphosphonates

Hydrozirconation of 1-alkylnylphosphonates gives the organozirconium(Ⅳ) complexes 2 in syn-addition way.Complexs 2 was trapped with NCS,NBS or I2 to afford stereodifined α-halo-1-alkenylphosphonates in moderate to high yields.
