We study a matter wave double-slit experiment with unequal aperture widths in order to evaluate the effect of the Gouy phase on the visibility/predictability. While the predictability changes as one increases the width of one of the slits, the visibility receives a contribution from the Gouy phase at a specific point in the detection screen. Consequently such apparatus constitutes a simple device for measuring the Gouy phase of matter waves. We illustrate it numerically for neutrons.  相似文献

利用量子技术增强Sagnac效应提高陀螺输出精度具有重要的研究意义, 是实现全自主导航的重要途径. 以相干态激光作为输入光源的光学陀螺因真空零点波动使其输出精度限制于散粒噪声极限而难以提高. 为减小真空波动的影响, 提出在激光输入的分束器的另一输入端输入压缩真空光并结合平衡零拍探测技术的方法增强Sagnac效应. 理论分析表明Sagnac效应性能得到有效提升: 干涉输出的灵敏度检测极限和动态范围均随着压缩程度的增加而呈指数级增长. 该方法只需对经典光学陀螺做少量改动就可实现, 是提高光学陀螺输出精度的一种新方法.  相似文献

By applying the bosonic creation operator to squeezed vacuum states, this paper introduces a new kind of quantum states: photon-added squeezed vacuum states. It also presents an experimental approach to prepare these states, and investigates their quantum statistical properties by the numerical method. The results indicate that these states reveal some interesting non-classical properties, such as anti-bunching effects, squeezing effects and negativities of the relevant Wigner functions.  相似文献

In this paper, the photon-added-then-subtracted squeezed vacuum state (PASSVS), a non-Gaussian state, is presented by adding then subtracting photon to a squeezed vacuum state. It is found that PASSVS is just a superposition state between S(r) | 0〉 and S(r) | 2〉, where S(r) is the single-mode squeezing operator with the squeezing parameter r. Its non-Gaussianity is exhibited via its Wigner function and the Hilbert–Schmidt distance. In addition, a possible scheme is presented to produce the PASSVS by virtue of the cavity QED.  相似文献

Squeezed state of light has drawn an enormous attention in information processing and digital communication since it has broken the quantum limit of noise. Here we have analytically investigated the interactions among coherent and vacuum squeezed states of light, interaction among coherent vacuum and squeezed states of light, and that between phase and amplitude squeezed states of light signals. It is shown that the principle of detailed balance is not obeyed in both systems of a single 2-level atom and the two-atom Dicke model interacting with a broad band squeezed vacuum field. Examination of the Boltzmann-Gibbs entropy shows that the stability of either system depends on the initial conditions. In particular, the two-atom system is unstable even for initially ground state condition, unlike the thermal field driven case.  相似文献

The nondegenerate two-photon interaction of a two-level atom with a broadband multimode squeezed vacuum is investigated. We find that in the two-photon process the squeezed vacuum has a driving effect on the atom which can lead to an ac Stark effect when the average photon number of the squeezed vacuum is larger than a critical value. Storage and retrieval of a squeezed vacuum was successfully demonstrated using electromagnetically induced transparency. The squeezed vacuum pulse having a temporal width of 930 ns was incident on the laser cooled 87Rb atoms with an intense control light in a coherent state. When the squeezed vacuum pulse was slowed and spatially compressed in the cold atoms, the control light was switched off. After 3 mus of storage, the control light was switched on again, and the squeezed vacuum was retrieved, as was confirmed using the time-domain homodyne method.  相似文献

An optical scheme for probabilistic teleporting entangled squeezed vacuum states (SVS) is proposed. In this scheme, the teieported state is a bipartite entangled SVS, and the quantum channel is a tripartite entangled SVS. The process of the teleportation is achieved by using a 50/50 symmetric beamsplitter and photon detectors with the help of classical information.  相似文献

We present a scheme to prepare cluster-type entangled squeezed vacuum states (CTESVS) by considering the two-photon interaction between a two-level atom and a high-quality cavity, driven by a strong classical field. After the realization of simple atomic measurements, the generation of CTESVS in four separate cavities is accomplished within the cavity decay time. In the case of large atom=cavity detuning, the scheme is immune to the effect of atomic spontaneous emission.  相似文献

We investigate the nonclassicality of two-mode photon-added squeezed vacuum state (TPASV) and its decoherence in a thermal environment according to the sub-Poissonian statistics and the negative region of Wigner function (WF). Based on the fact that the TPASV can be seen as a squeezed Hermite polynomial excitation state, we further obtain a compact expression for the normalization factor of TPASV, i.e., a Jacobi polynomial of the squeezing parameter. We also derive the explicit expression of WF of TPASV and then the decoherence effect on this state is also discussed by deriving the time evolution of the WF and its negative region.  相似文献

解析推导了任意光子扣除(增加)压缩真空态与压缩猫态的保真度. 研究表明,无论是光子增加还是光子扣除,最大保真度都随光子增加或扣除数目的增加而增加,且最大保真度对应的叠加态振幅也增加;此外,对于相同数目的增加和扣除光子数,光子增加后的最大保真度所对应的叠加态振幅比光子扣除所对应的叠加态振幅要大,而最大保真度略小一些. 尽管目前从实验上实现光子增加比光子扣除困难较大,但光子增加也可以成为获得大振幅猫态的一个有力手段. 关键词: 光子扣除压缩真空态 光子增加压缩真空态 压缩猫态 保真度  相似文献

The excited squeezed light (ESL) can be the outcome of interaction between squeezed light probe and excited atom, which can explore the status and the structure of the atom. We calculate the Wigner function and tomogram of ESL that may be comparable to the experimental measurement of quadrature-amplitude distribution for the light field obtained using balanced homodyne detection. Properties of the entanglement at the outputs of a cascade beam-splitter are investigated for two single-mode squeezed vacuum state inputs. It is shown that the entanglement depends on the squeezing amplitudes of the input states and the reflection coefficients of the cascade beam-splitter, and the composite phase shift Δ between the cascade beam-splitter and the input fields has a great effect on the entanglement. In particular, the properties of the entanglement of a cascade beam-splitter differ from those of only one beam-splitter. A further method for manipulating entanglement by adjusting the parameters of the cascade beam-splitter and the input fields is proposed.  相似文献

In this paper, the effects of the squeezed vacuum (SV) on the transient response in a ??-type three-level atomic medium are investigated. We find that the properties of transient process can be greatly affected by the SV whether the vacuum-induced coherence (VIC) exists or not. The combined influence of the SV and the VIC can dramatically modify the transient absorption and gain. Especially, the transient gain can be almost eliminated in the absence of VIC. And the response time from the transient to the steady situation is dependent on the SV. When including the VIC, the transient and steady optical properties display a reverse variation with the SV. Besides, it is shown that the considerable steady state population without inversion can be always induced by the SV.  相似文献
