The synthesis and characterisation of a new bis([9]aneN3) ligand (L4) containing two [9]aneN3 macrocyclic moieties separated by a 2,6-dimethylenepyridine unit is reported. A potentiometric and 1H NMR study in aqueous solution reveals that ligand protonation occurs on the secondary amine groups and does not involve the pyridine nitrogen. The coordination properties toward Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Pb(II) were studied by means of potentiometric and UV spectrophotometric measurements. The ligand can form mono- and binuclear complexes in aqueous solution. In the 1 : 1 complexes, the metal is sandwiched between the two [9]aneN3 moieties and the pyridine N-donor is coordinated to the metal, as actually shown by the crystal structure of the compound [ZnL4](NO3)2.CH3NO2. L4 shows a higher binding ability for Cd(II) with respect to Zn(II), probably due to a better fitting of Cd(II) ion inside the cavity generated by the two facing [9]aneN3 units. The formation of binuclear complexes is accompanied by the assembly of OH-bridged M2(OH)x (x = 1-3) clusters inside the cavity defined by the two facing [9]aneN3 units, and pyridine is not involved in metal coordination. A potentiometric and (1)H NMR study on the coordination of halogenide anions by L4 and its structural analogous L3 in which the two [9]aneN3 units are separated by a shorter quinoxaline linkage, shows that bromide is selectively recognised by L4, while chloride is selectively bound by L3. Such a behaviour is discussed in terms of dimensional matching between the spherical anions and the cavities generated by the two [9]aneN3 units of the receptors.  相似文献

Binding of mono-, di-, and triphosphate, adenosine diphosphate (ADP), and adenosine triphosphatase (ATP) with receptors L1-L3, composed of two [9]aneN(3) units separated by a 2,9-dimethylene-1,10-phenanthroline (L1), a 2,6-dimethylenepyridine (L2), or a 2,3-dimethylenequinoxaline (L3) spacer, has been studied by means of potentiometric titrations, (1)H and (31)P NMR measurements in aqueous solutions, and molecular modeling calculations. In the case of inorganic phosphates, the binding properties of the receptors appear to be determined by their geometrical features, in particular the distance between the two [9]aneN(3) units imposed by the spacer separating the two macrocyclic units. While L1 is able to selectively bind triphosphate over di- and monophosphate, L3 selectively coordinates the smaller monophosphate anion. Finally, L2 shows preferential binding of diphosphate. (1)H and (31)P NMR measurements show that the complexes are essentially stabilized by charge-charge and hydrogen-bonding interactions between the anion and the protonated amine groups of the macrocyclic subunits of the receptors. Molecular dynamics simulations suggest that the larger distance between the two macrocyclic units of L1 allows this receptor to form a larger number of hydrogen-bonding contacts with triphosphate, justifying its selectivity toward this anion. Conversely, in the case of L3, the two facing [9]aneN3 units give rise to a cleft of appropriate dimensions where the small monophosphate anion can be conveniently hosted. Considering nucleotide coordination, L1 is a better receptor for ATP and ADP than L2, thanks to the higher ability of phenanthroline to establish stabilizing π stacking and hydrophobic interactions with the adenine units of the guests.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of the novel 24,29-dimethyl-6,7,15,16-tetraoxotetracyclo-[19.5.5.0(5,8).0(14,17)]-1,4,9,13,18,21,24,29-octaazaenatriaconta-Delta(5,8),Delta(14,17)-diene (L) are reported. Molecule L incorporates two squaramide functions in a overstructured chain connecting two opposite nitrogen atoms of the Me(2)[12]aneN(4) polyaza macrocyclic base to obtain a cage topology. The basicity and binding properties of L towards Cu(II) were determined by means of potentiometric measurements in aqueous solution (298.1+/-0.1 K, I=0.15 mol dm(-3)). Molecule L behaves as a diprotic base under the experimental conditions employed and forms only mononuclear Cu(II) complexes in which the squaramide moieties are not involved in the stabilization of the metal ion that is stabilized by the amine functions of the polyaza base inside the three-dimensional cavity. The [CuL](2+) species was tested as a host for the series of halide anions. UV-visible spectrophotometric experiments permitted the determination of the addition constants of halides to the Cu(II)-complexed species. The [CuL](2+) species binds the anions F(-), Cl(-), and Br(-) by forming the [CuLX](+) species, but does not bind the biggest I(-) anion. A trend of selectivity as a function of the hydrogen-bonding capability as well as the dimensions of the anion were established; the maximum value of selectivity was for addition of the F(-) anion (log K=4.8). This selectivity is due to the presence of the overstructured chain containing the squaramide groups up to the Me(2)[12]aneN(4) macrocyclic base. The squaramide groups, by providing hydrogen-bond contacts, permit the [CuL](2+) species to selectively bind these anions through the formation of a hydrogen-bond network with F(-) and Cl(-). The crystal structures of the [CuLF](+) and [CuLCl](+) cations support the results obtained in aqueous solution.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of three new bis([9]aneN(3)) ligands, containing respectively 2,2'-bipyridine (L(1)), 1,10-phenanthroline (L(2)), and quinoxaline (L(3)) moieties linking the two macrocyclic units, are reported. Proton binding and Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), and Pb(II) coordination with L(1)-L(3) have been studied by potentiometric titrations and, for L(1) and L(2), by spectrophotometric UV-vis measurements in aqueous solutions. All ligands can give stable mono- and dinuclear complexes. In the case of L(1), trinuclear Cu(II) complexes are also formed. The stability constants and structural features of the formed complexes are strongly affected by the different architecture and binding properties of the spacers bridging the two [9]aneN(3) units. In the case of the L(1) and L(2) mononuclear complexes, the metal is coordinated by the three donors of one [9]aneN(3) moiety; in the [ML(2)](2+) complexes, however, the phenanthroline nitrogens are also involved in metal binding. Finally, in the [ML(3)](2+) complexes both macrocyclic units, at a short distance from each other, can be involved in metal coordination, giving rise to sandwich complexes. In the binuclear complexes each metal ion is generally coordinated by one [9]aneN(3) unit. In L(1), however, the dipyridine nitrogens can also act as a potential binding site for metals. The dinuclear complexes show a marked tendency to form mono-, di-, and, in some cases, trihydroxo species in aqueous solutions. The resulting M-OH functions may behave as nucleophiles in hydrolytic reactions. The hydrolysis rate of bis(p-nitrophenyl)phosphate (BNPP) was measured in aqueous solution at 308.1 K in the presence of the L(2) and L(3) dinuclear Zn(II) complexes. Both the L(2) complexes [Zn(2)L(2)(OH)(2)](2+) and [Zn(2)L(2)(OH)(3)](+) and the L(3) complex [Zn(2)L(3)(OH)(3)](+) promote BNPP hydrolysis. The [Zn(2)L(3)(OH)(3)](+) complex is ca. 2 orders of magnitude more active than the L(2) complexes, due both to the short distance between the metal centers in [Zn(2)L(3)(OH)(3)](+), which could allow a bridging interaction of the phosphate ester, and to the simultaneous presence of single-metal bound nucleophilic Zn-OH functions. These structural features are substantially corroborated by semiempirical PM3 calculations carried out on the mono-, di-, and trihydroxo species of the L(3) dizinc complex.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of the new polyaza-phenolic-macrobicycle 32-hydroxy-1,4,7,10,13,16,19,22-octaazatricyclo-[11.11.7.1(26,30)]-diatriconta-26,28,Delta(30,32)-triene (L) are reported. L incorporates a 2,6-dimethyl-phenolic unit bridging two opposite amine functions of the [24]aneN(8) polyazamacrocyclic base to obtain a large cage. The basicity and binding properties of L toward Cu(II), Zn(II), and Cl(-) were determined by means of potentiometric measurements in aqueous solution (298.1 +/- 0.1 K, I = 0.15 mol dm(-3)). L can add up to six acidic protons, yielding the H(5)L(5+) species or the H(6)L(6+) species, depending on the ionic medium used. The molecular topology of L permits the formation of a highly positive three-dimensional cavity in the polyprotonated species that is able to host the chloride anion. This was detected both using potentiometric data, log K = 41.33 for the reaction L + 6H(+) + Cl(-) = H(6)LCl(5+), and in (35)Cl NMR experiments that showed interactions also with the H(5)L(5+) and H(4)L(4+) species. The anion is probably hosted inside the three-dimensional cavity of L, and stabilized by H-bonding interactions with the ammonium groups, as depicted in the crystal structure of the H(6)L(6+) cation reported. L forms mono- and dinuclear complexes with all the metal ions investigated; the dinuclear species are the only existing species with an L:M(II) molar ratio of 1:2 at pH higher than 6. The phenolate oxygen atom coordinates the two metal ions in a bridged disposition, drawing them inside the macrobicyclic cavity. The two metals were found to be quite isolated by the medium, and were coordinated by all the amine groups of L, as shown by the crystal structure of the dinuclear [Zn(2)H(-1)L](3+) species. This species can bind guests such as hydroxide and phosphate anions. Studies of anion binding in aqueous solution using pyrochatecol violet as the sensing guest revealed that the [Zn(2)H(-1)L](3+) species is able to bind one phosphate at physiological pH.  相似文献

Tris(2-aminoethyl)amine (tren) based pentafluorophenyl-substituted tripodal L, tris[[(2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorobenzyl)amino]ethyl]amine receptor is synthesized in good yield and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Detailed structural aspects of binding of different anionic guests toward L in its triprotonated form are examined thoroughly. Crystallographic results show binding of fluoride in the C(3v)-symmetric cavity of [H(3)L](3+) where spherical anion fluoride is in tricoordinated geometry via (N-H)(+)···F interaction in the complex [H(3)L(F)]·[F](2)·2H(2)O, (3). In the case of complexes [H(3)L(OTs)]·[OTs](2), (4) and [H(3)L(OTs)]·[NO(3)]·[OTs], (5), tetrahedral p-toluenesulphonate ion is engulfed in the cavity of [H(3)L](3+) via (N-H)(+)···O interactions. Interestingly, complex [(H(3)L)(2)(SiF(6))]·[BF(4)](4)·CH(3)OH·H(2)O, (6) shows encapsulation of octahedral hexafluorosilicate in the dimeric capsular assembly of two [H(3)L](3+) units, via a number of (N-H)(+)···F interactions. The kinetic parameters of L upon binding with different anions are evaluated using a potentiometric study in solution state. The potentiometric titration experiments in a polar protic methanol/water (1:1 v/v) binary solvent system show high affinity of the receptor toward more basic fluoride and acetate anions, with a lesser affinity for other inorganic anions (e.g., chloride, bromide, nitrate, sulfate, dihydrogenphosphate, and p-toluenesulphonate).  相似文献

The synthesis of the new terpyridine-containing macrocycle 2,5,8,11,14-pentaaza[15](6,6' ')cyclo(2,2':6',2' ')terpyridinophane (L) is reported. The ligand contains a pentaamine chain linking the 6,6' ' positions of a terpyridine unit. A potentiometric, (1)H NMR, UV-vis spectrophotometric and fluorescence emission study on the acid-base properties of L in aqueous solutions shows that the first four protonation steps occur on the polyamine chain, whereas the terpyridine nitrogens are involved in proton binding only at strongly acidic pH values. L can form both mono- and dinuclear Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), and Pb(II) complexes in aqueous solution. The crystal structures of the Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes ([ZnLH](2)(micro-OH))(ClO(4))(5) (6) and ([CdLH](2)(micro-Br))(ClO(4))(5).4H(2)O (7) show that two mononuclear [MLH](3+) units are coupled by a bridging anion (OH(-) in 6 and Br(-) in 7) and pi-stacking interactions between the terpyridine moieties. A potentiometric and spectrophotometric study shows that in the case of Cu(II) and Zn(II) the dimeric assemblies are also formed in aqueous solution containing the ligand and the metals in a 1:1 molar ratio. Protonation of the complexes or the addition of a second metal ion leads to the disruption of the dimers due to the increased electrostatic repulsions between the two monomeric units.  相似文献

The synthesis of the new terpyridine-containing macrocycle 2,6,10,14-tetraaza[15](6,6')cyclo(2,2':6',2')terpyridinophane (L) is reported. The ligand contains a tetraamine chain linking the 6,6' positions of a terpyridine unit. A potentiometric, (1)H NMR, UV-vis spectrophotometric and fluorescence emission study on the basicity properties of in aqueous solutions shows that the first four protonation steps occur on the polyamine chain, while the terpyridine nitrogens are involved in proton binding only in the last protonation step at strongly acidic pH values. Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Pb(II) complexation was studied in aqueous solution by means of potentiometric, spectrophotometric and spectrofluorimetric measurements. Cu(II) and Zn(II) can form both mono- and dinuclear complexes in solution, while the larger Cd(II) and Pb(II) give only mononuclear complexes. In the [ML](2+) complexes (M = Zn(II) or Cd(II)) the metal is unequivocally bound to the terpyridine unit. Some amine groups are not coordinated and can quench the fluorescence emission of the terpyridine unit thanks to an electron transfer process. Protonation of the unbound amine groups inhibits the eT process, affording fluorescent [MLH(x)]((2+x)+) complexes.  相似文献

The synthesis of a new oxaaza macrocyclic ligand, L, derived from O(1),O(7)-bis(2-formylphenyl)-1,4,7-trioxaheptane and tren containing an amine terminal pendant arm, and its metal complexation with alkaline earth (M = Ca(2+), Sr(2+), Ba(2+)), transition (M = Co(2+), Ni(2+), Cu(2+), Zn(2+), Cd(2+)), post-transition (M = Pb(2+)), and Y(3+) and lanthanide (M = La(3+), Er(3+)) metal ions are reported. Crystal structures of [H(2)L](ClO(4))(2).3H(2)O, [PbL](ClO(4))(2), and [ZnLCl](ClO(4)).H(2)O are also reported. In the [PbL] complex, the metal ion is located inside the macrocyclic cavity coordinated by all N(4)O(3) donor atoms while, in the [ZnLCl] complex, the metal ion is encapsulated only by the nitrogen atoms present in the ligand. pi-pi interactions in the [H(2)L](ClO(4))(2).3H(2)O and [PbL](ClO(4))(2) structures are observed. Protonation and Zn(2+), Cd(2+), and Cu(2+) complexation were studied by means of potentiometric, UV-vis, and fluorescent emission measurements. The 10-fold fluorescence emission increase observed in the pH range 7-9 in the presence of Zn(2+) leads to L as a good sensor for this biological metal in water solution.  相似文献

We have prepared and characterized a new phenol-based compartmental ligand (H(2)L) incorporating 1,4,7-triazacyclononane ([9]aneN(3)), and we have investigated its coordination behavior with Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), and Pb(II). The protonation constants of the ligand and the thermodynamic stabilities of the 1:1 and 2:1 (metal/ligand) complexes with these metal ions have been investigated by means of potentiometric measurements in aqueous solutions. The mononuclear [M(L)] complexes show remarkably high stability suggesting that, along with the large number of nitrogen donors available for metal binding, deprotonated phenolic functions are also involved in binding the metal ion. The mononuclear complexes [M(L)] show a marked tendency to add a second metal ion to afford binuclear species. The formation of complexes [M(2)(H(2)L)](4+) occurs at neutral or slightly acidic pH and is generally followed by metal-assisted deprotonation of the phenolic groups to give [M(2)(HL)](3+) and [M(2)(L)](2+) in weakly basic solutions. The complexation properties of H(2)L have also been investigated in the solid state. Crystals suitable for X-ray structural analysis were obtained for the binuclear complexes [Cu(2)(L)](BF(4))(2).(1)/(2)MeCN (1), [Zn(2)(HL)](ClO(4))(3).(1)/(2)MeCN (2), and [Pb(2)(L)](ClO(4))(2).2MeCN (4). In 1 and 2, the phenolate O-donors do not bridge the two metal centers, which are, therefore, segregated each within an N(5)O-donor compartment. However, in the case of the binuclear complex [Pb(2)(L)](ClO(4))(2).2MeCN (4), the two Pb(II) centers are bridged by the phenolate oxygen atoms with each metal ion sited within an N(5)O(2)-donor compartment of L(2)(-), with a Pb.Pb distance of 3.9427(5) A.  相似文献

Crystallographically characterised 3,6-bis(2'-pyridyl)pyridazine (L) forms complexes with {(acac)2Ru} or {(bpy)2Ru2+}via one pyridyl-N/pyridazyl-N chelate site in mononuclear Ru(II) complexes (acac)2Ru(L), 1, and [(bpy)2Ru(L)](ClO4)2, [3](ClO4)2. Coordination of a second metal complex fragment is accompanied by deprotonation at the pyridazyl-C5 carbon {L --> (L - H+)-} to yield cyclometallated, asymmetrically bridged dinuclear complexes [(acac)2Ru(III)(mu-L - H+)Ru(III)(acac)2](ClO4), [2](ClO4), and [(bpy)2Ru(II)(mu-L - H+)Ru(II)(bpy)2](ClO4)3, [4](ClO4)3. The different electronic characteristics of the co-ligands, sigma donating acac- and pi accepting bpy, cause a wide variation in metal redox potentials which facilitates the isolation of the diruthenium(III) form in [2](ClO4) with antiferromagnetically coupled Ru(III) centres (J = -11.5 cm(-1)) and of a luminescent diruthenium(II) species in [4](ClO4)3. The electrogenerated mixed-valent Ru(II)Ru(III) states 2 and [4]4+ with comproportionation constants Kc > 10(8) are assumed to be localised with the Ru(III) ion bonded via the negatively charged pyridyl-N/pyridazyl-C5 chelate site of the bridging (L - H+)- ligand. In spectroelectrochemical experiments they show similar intervalence charge transfer bands of moderate intensity around 1300 nm and comparable g anisotropies (g1-g3 approximatly 0.5) in the EPR spectra. However, the individual g tensor components are distinctly higher for the pi acceptor ligated system [4]4+, signifying stabilised metal d orbitals.  相似文献

X-ray structures for six Fe(II) and Fe(III) complexes from two closely heptadentate N-tripodal ligands, L1H(3) = tris[(imidazol-4-yl)-3-aza-3-butenyl]amine and L2H(3) = tris[(imidazol-2-yl)-3-aza-3-butenyl]amine, are described: three complexes in the L1 series (namely, [Fe(II)(L1H(3))](2+) and [Fe(III)(L1H(3))](3+) at low pH and [Fe(III)(L1)](0) at high pH) and three complexes in the L2 series (namely, [Fe(II)(L2H(3))](2+) at low pH and [Fe(II)(L2H)](0) and [Fe(III)(L2)](0) at high pH). Most of these complexes are stable in both Fe(II) and Fe(III) redox states and with the ligand in various protonation states. In the solid state, hydrogen bonds networks were obtained. Structural differences induced by 2- or 4-imidazole substitution are described and discussed. In solution, interconversions between different forms, with regard to oxidation and protonation states, were investigated by UV-visible spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, and potentiometry. The deprotonation pattern of these polyimidazole iron(II) and iron(III) complexes is described in detail. pK(a)s of the imidazolate/imidazole moieties in MeOH/H(2)O are reported. Two new species, namely, [Fe(II)(L1)](-) and [Fe(II)(L2)](-), were shown to be obtained in DMSO upon strong base addition and characterized by UV-vis spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. Half-wave potentials of Fe(III)/Fe(II) complexes with ligand moieties in several protonation states are reported, both in DMSO and in MeOH/H(2)O. Because of the presence of free imidazole groups coordinated to the iron, the potential of the iron(III)/iron(II) couples can be tuned by pH. A shift of DeltaE = E(deprot) - E(prot) ranging from -270 to -320 mV per exchanged proton in DMSO was measured. This study shows moreover that interconversions (with regard to both redox and protonation states) can be reversed several times. As the complexes have been isolated in order to be tested as superoxide dismutase mimics, preliminary reactions with dioxygen and with superoxide, considered as oxidant and reducer of biological importance, are reported. In these two series, O(2)(-) behaves either as a base or as a reducer and no adducts have been observed.  相似文献

Substitution of the weakly binding aqua ligand in [Cu(tren)OH2](2+) and [Cu(tpa)OH2](2+) (tren = tris(2-aminoethyl)amine; tpa = tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine) by a cyano ligand on ferricyanide results in the assembly of heteropolynuclear cations around the cyanometalate core. In water, the reduction of the Fe(III) core to Fe(II) generates complexes that feature heteropolycations in which ferrocyanide is encapsulated by the Cu(II) moieties: [(Cu(tpa)CN)6Fe][ClO4]8-3H2O 1, [(Cu(tren)CN)6Fe][ClO4]8-10H2O 2, [(Cu(tren)CN)6Fe][Fe(CN)6]2[ClO4]2-15.8H2O 3, and [(Cu(tren)CN)6Fe][(Cu(tren)CN)4Fe(CN)2][Fe(CN)6)]4-6DMSO-21H2O 4. The formation of discrete molecules, in preference to extended networks or polymeric structures, has been encouraged through the use of branched tetradentate ligands in conjunction with copper(II), a metal center with the propensity to form five-coordinate complexes. Complex 3 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c (#14) with a = 14.8674(10), b = 25.9587(10), c = 27.5617(10) A, beta = 100.8300(10) degrees, and Z = 4, and it is comprised of almost spherical heptanuclear cations, [(Cu(tren)CN)6Fe](8+), whose charge is balanced by two ferricyanide and two perchlorate counteranions. Complex 4 crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1 (# 1) with a = 14.8094(8), b = 17.3901(7), c = 21.1565(11) A, alpha = 110.750(3), beta = 90.206(2), gamma = 112.754(3) degrees, and Z = 1, and it is comprised of the heptanuclear [(Cu(tren)CN)6Fe](8+) cation and pentanuclear [(Cu(tren)CN)4Fe(CN)2](4+) cation, whose terminal cyano ligands are oriented trans to each other. The charge is balanced exclusively by ferricyanide counteranions. In both complexes, H-bonding interactions between hydrogens on primary amines of the tren ligand, terminal cyano groups of the ferricyanide counterions, and the solvent of crystallization generate intricate 3D H-bonding networks.  相似文献

A series of distorted octahedral Cr(III) complexes containing tridentate S-, S/O- or N-donor ligands comprised of three distinct architectures: facultative {S(CH(2)CH(2)SC(10)H(21))(2) (L(1)) and O(CH(2)CH(2)SC(10)H(21))(2) (L(2))}, tripodal {MeC(CH(2)S(n)C(4)H(9))(3) (L(3)), MeC(CH(2)SC(10)H(21))(3) (L(4))} and macrocyclic {(C(10)H(21))[9]aneN(3) (L(5)), (C(10)H(21))(3)[9]aneN(3) (L(6)), with [9]aneN(3)=1,4,7-triazacyclononane} are reported and characterised spectroscopically. Activation of [CrCl(3)(L)] with MMAO produces very active ethylene trimerisation, oligomerisation and polymerisation catalysts, with significant dependence of the product distribution upon the ligand type present. The properties of the parent [CrCl(3)(L)] complexes are probed by cyclic voltammetry, UV-visible, EPR, EXAFS and XANES measurements, and the effects upon activation with Me(3)Al investigated similarly. Treatment with excess Me(3)Al leads to substitution of Cl ligands by Me groups, generation of an EPR silent Cr species (consistent with a change in the oxidation state of the Cr to either Cr(II) or Cr(IV)) and substantial dissociation of the neutral S and S/O-donor ligands.  相似文献

The photoisomerization properties of tris(bipyridine)cobalt complexes containing six or three azobenzene moieties, namely, [Co(II)(dmAB)3](BF4)2 [dmAB = 4,4'-bis[3'-(4'-tolylazo)phenyl]-2,2'-bipyridine], [Co(III)(dmAB)3](BF4)3, [Co(II)(mAB)3](BF4)2 [mAB = 4-[3' '-(4' '-tolylazo)phenyl]-2,2'-bipyridine], and [Co(III)(dmAB)3](BF4)3, derived from the effect of gathering azobenzenes in one molecule and the effect of the cobalt(II) or cobalt(III) ion were investigated using UV-vis absorption spectroscopy, femtosecond transient spectroscopy, and 1H NMR spectroscopy. In the photostationary state of these four complexes, nearly 50% of the trans-azobenzene moieties of the Co(II) complexes were converted to the cis isomer, and nearly 10% of the trans-azobenzene moieties of the Co(III) complexes isomerized to the cis isomer, implying that the cis isomer ratio in the photostationary state upon irradiation at 365 nm is controlled not by the number of azobenzene moieties in one molecule but rather by the oxidation state of the cobalt ions. The femtosecond transient absorption spectra of the ligands and the complexes suggested that the photoexcited states of the azobenzene moieties in the Co(III) complexes were strongly deactivated by electron transfer from the azobenzene moiety to the cobalt center to form an azobenzene radical cation and a Co(II) center. The cooperation among the photochemical structural changes of six azobenzene moieties in [Co(II)(dmAB)3](BF4)2 was investigated with 1H NMR spectroscopy. The time-course change in the 1H NMR signals of the methyl protons indicated that each azobenzene moiety in [Co(II)(dmAB)3](BF4)2 isomerized to a cis isomer with a random probability of 50% and without interactions among the azobenzene moieties.  相似文献

With the aim of expanding the structure-activity relationship investigation, the series of Ru(II) half sandwich coordination compounds of the type [Ru([9]aneS3)(chel)(L)](n+) previously described by us (where [9]aneS3 is the neutral face-capping ligand 1,4,7-trithiacyclononane, chel is a neutral or anonic chelating ligand, L = Cl(-) or dmso-S, n = 0-2) was extended to 1,4,7-triazacyclononane ([9]aneN3). In addition, new neutral N-N, and anionic N-O and O-O chelating ligands, i.e. dach (trans-1,2-diaminocyclohexane), pic(-) (picolinate), and acac(-) (acetylacetonate), were investigated in combination with both [9]aneS3 and [9]aneN3. Overall, ten new half-sandwich complexes were prepared and fully characterized and their chemical behaviour in aqueous solution was established. The single-crystal X-ray structures of eight of them, including the versatile precursor [Ru([9]aneN3)(dmso-S)(2)Cl]Cl (9), were also determined. The results of in vitro antiproliferative tests performed on selected compounds against MDA-MB-231 human mammary carcinoma cells confirmed that, in this series, only compounds that hydrolyse the monodentate ligand at a reasonable rate show moderate activity, provided that the chelate ligand is a hydrogen bond donor.  相似文献

Reaction between [VO(acac)2] and H2L (H2L are the hydrazones H2sal-nah I or H2sal-fah II; sal = salicylaldehyde, nah = nicotinic acid hydrazide and fah = 2-furoic acid hydrazide) in methanol leads to the formation of oxovanadium(IV) complexes [VOL.H2O](H2L = I: 1, H2L = II: 4). Aerial oxidation of the methanolic solutions of 1 and 4 yields the dinuclear oxo-bridged monooxovanadium(V) complexes [{VOL}2mu-O](H2L = I: 2, H2L = II: 5). These dinuclear complexes slowly convert, in excess methanol, to [VO(OMe)(MeOH)L](H(2)L = I: 9, H(2)L = II: 10), the crystal and molecular structures of which have been determined, confirming the ONO binding mode of the dianionic ligands in their enolate form. Reaction of aqueous K[VO3] with the ligands at pH ca. 7.5 results in the formation of [K(H2O)][VO2L](H2L = I: 3, H2L = II: 6). Treatment of 3 and 6 with H2O2 yields (unstable) oxoperoxovanadium(v) complexes K[VO(O2)L], the formation of which has been monitored spectrophotometrically. Acidification of methanolic solutions of 3 and 6 with HCl affords oxohydroxo complexes, while the neutral complexes [VO2(Hsal-nah)] 7 and [VO2(Hsal-fah)] 8 were isolated on treatment of aqueous solutions of 3 and 6 with HClO4. These complexes slowly transform into 9 and 10 in methanol, as confirmed by 1H, 13C and 51V NMR. The anionic complexes 3 and 6 catalyse the oxidative bromination of salicylaldehyde in water in the presence of H2O2/KBr to 5-bromosalicylaldehyde and 3,5-dibromosalicylaldehyde, a reaction similar to that exhibited by vanadate-dependent haloperoxidases. They are also catalytically active for the oxidation of benzene to phenol and phenol to catechol and p-hydroquinone.  相似文献

The symmetrically ligated complexes 1, 2, and 3 with a (mu-oxo)bis(mu-acetato)diferric core can be one-electron oxidized electrochemically or chemically with aminyl radical cations [*NR3][SbCl6] in acetonitrile yielding complexes which contain the mixed-valent [(mu-oxo)bis(mu-acetato)iron(IV)iron(III)]3+ core: [([9]aneN3)(2FeIII2)(mu-O)(mu-CH3CO2)2](ClO4)2 (1(ClO4)2), [(Me3[9]aneN3)(2FeIII2)(mu-O)(mu-CH3CO2)2](PF6)2 (2(PF6)(2)), and [(tpb)(2FeIII2)(mu-O)(mu-CH3CO2)2] (3) where ([9]aneN3) is the neutral triamine 1,4,7-triazacyclononane and (Me3[9]aneN3) is its tris-N-methylated derivative, and (tpb)(-) is the monoanion trispyrazolylborate. The asymmetrically ligated complex [(Me3[9]aneN3)FeIII(mu-O)(mu-CH3CO2)2FeIII(tpb)](PF6) (4(PF6)) and its one-electron oxidized form [4ox]2+ have also been prepared. Finally, the known heterodinuclear species [(Me3[9]aneN3)CrIII(mu-O)(mu-CH3CO2)2Fe([9]aneN3)](PF6)2 (5(PF6)(2)) can also be one-electron oxidized yielding [5ox]3+ containing an iron(IV) ion. The structure of 4(PF6).0.5CH3CN.0.25(C2H5)2O has been determined by X-ray crystallography and that of [5ox]2+ by Fe K-edge EXAFS-spectroscopy (Fe(IV)-O(oxo): 1.69(1) A; Fe(IV)-O(carboxylato) 1.93(3) A, Fe(IV)-N 2.00(2) A) contrasting the data for 5 (Fe(III)-O(oxo) 1.80 A; Fe(III)-O(carboxylato) 2.05 A, Fe-N 2.20 A). [5ox]2+ has an St = 1/2 ground state whereas all complexes containing the mixed-valent [FeIV(mu-O)(mu-CH3CO2)2FeIII]3+ core have an St = 3/2 ground state. M?ssbauer spectra of the oxidized forms of complexes clearly show the presence of low spin FeIV ions (isomer shift approximately 0.02 mm s(-1), quadrupole splitting approximately 1.4 mm s(-1) at 80 K), whereas the high spin FeIII ion exhibits delta approximately 0.46 mm s(-1) and DeltaE(Q) approximately 0.5 mm s(-1). M?ssbauer, EPR spectral and structural parameters have been calculated by density functional theoretical methods at the BP86 and B3LYP levels. The exchange coupling constant, J, for diiron complexes with the mixed-valent FeIV-FeIII core (H = -2J S1.S2; S(1) = 5/2; S2 = 1) has been calculated to be -88 cm(-1) (intramolecular antiferromagnetic coupling) and for the reduced diferric form of -75 cm(-1) in reasonable agreement with experiment (J = -120 cm(-1)).  相似文献

The synthesis of the macrocyclic ligand 4,4'-(2,5,8,11,14-pentaaza[15])-2,2'-bipyridylophane (L3), which contains a pentaamine chain linking the 4,4'-positions of a 2,2'-dipyridine moiety, is reported. Protonation and Zn(II) complexation by L3 and by macrocycle L2, containing the same pentaamine chain connecting the 6,6'-positions of 2,2'-dipyridine, were studied by means of potentiometric, UV-vis, and fluorescent emission measurements. While in L2 all the nitrogen donor atoms are convergent inside the macrocyclic cavity, in L3 the heteroaromatic nitrogen atoms are located outside. Both ligands form mono- and dinuclear Zn(II) complexes in aqueous solution. In the mononuclear Zn(II) complexes with L2, the metal is coordinated inside the macrocyclic cavity, bound to the heteroaromatic nitrogen donors and three amine groups of the aliphatic chain. As shown by the crystal structure of the [ZnL2](2+) complex, the two benzylic nitrogens are not coordinated and facile protonation of the complex takes place at slightly acidic pH values. Considering the mononuclear [ZnL3](2+) complex, the metal is encapsulated inside the cavity, not coordinated by the dipyridine unit. Protonation of the complex occurs on the aliphatic polyamine chain and gives rise to translocation of the metal outside the cavity, bound to the heteroaromatic nitrogens.  相似文献
