We consider a mathematical model which describes the dynamic evolution of a viscoelastic body in frictional contact with an obstacle. The contact is modelled with normal compliance and unilateral constraint, associated to a rate slip-dependent version of Coulomb’s law of dry friction. In order to approximate the contact conditions, we consider a regularized problem wherein the contact is modelled by a standard normal compliance condition without finite penetrations. For each problem, we derive a variational formulation and an existence result of the weak solution of the regularized problem is obtained. Next, we prove the convergence of the weak solution of the regularized problem to the weak solution of the initial nonregularized problem. Then, we introduce a fully discrete approximation of the variational problem based on a finite element method and on a second order time integration scheme. The solution of the resulting nonsmooth and nonconvex frictional contact problems is presented, based on approximation by a sequence of nonsmooth convex programming problems. Finally, some numerical simulations are provided in order to illustrate both the behaviour of the solution related to the frictional contact conditions and the convergence result.  相似文献

A static contact problem for inhomogeneous elastic materials is studied with a non-polynomial growth of the elasticity under the Coulomb’s law of dry friction and the normal compliance condition. We demonstrate the results on existence and uniqueness of a solution to an abstract subdifferential inclusion and a variational–hemivariational inequality in the reflexive Orlicz–Sobolev space which are applied to the static elastic frictional problem.  相似文献

A static frictional contact problem between an elasto-plastic body and a rigid foundation is considered. The material’s behavior is described by the nonlinear elastic constitutive Hencky’s law. The contact is modeled with the Signorini condition and a version of Coulomb’s law in which the coefficient of friction depends on the slip. The existence of a weak solution is proved by using Schauder’s fixed-point theorem combined with arguments of abstract variational inequalities. Afterward, a successive iteration technique, based on the Ka?anov method, to solve the problem numerically is proposed, and its convergence is established. Then, to improve the conditioning of the iterative problem, an appropriate Augmented Lagrangian formulation is used and that will lead us to Uzawa block relaxation method in every iteration. Finally, numerical experiments of two-dimensional test problems are carried out to illustrate the performance of the proposed algorithm.  相似文献

A frictional contact model, under the small deformations hypothesis, for static processes is considered. We model the behavior of the material by a constitutive law using the subdifferential of a proper, convex and lower semicontinuous function. The contact is described with a boundary condition involving Clarke?s generalized gradient. Our study focuses on the weak solvability of the model. Based on a fixed point theorem for set-valued mappings, we prove the existence of at least one weak solution. The uniqueness, the boundedness and the stability of the weak solution are also discussed; the investigation is based on arguments in the theory of variational–hemivariational inequalities. Finally, we present several examples of constitutive laws and friction laws for which our theoretical results are valid.  相似文献

We consider a mathematical model which describes the quasistatic contact between a viscoelastic body and a foundation. The material’s behaviour is modelled with a constitutive law with long memory. The contact is frictional and is modelled with normal compliance and memory term, associated to the Coulomb’s law of dry friction. We present the classical formulation of the problem, list the assumptions on the data and derive a variational formulation of the model. Then we prove the unique weak solvability of the problem. We present a variational formulation of the problem and prove the existence and uniqueness of the weak solution, using results on evolution equations with monotone operators and a fixed point argument. We then introduce and study a fully discrete numerical approximation scheme of the variational problem, in terms of the velocity variable. The numerical scheme has a unique solution. We model the behavior of the material with a linear thermo‐electro‐elastic constitutive law. The process is assumed to be quasistatic and the contact is modeled with a nonlocal version of Coulomb's dry friction law, in which the frictional heat generated in the process, is taken into account. The material’s behavior is modeled with a linear electro–elastic constitutive law, the process is static and the foundation is assumed to be electrically conductive. Both the friction and the electrical conductivity conditions on the contact surface are described with the Clarke subdifferential boundary conditions. The weak formulation of the problem consists of a system of two hemivariational inequalities. We provide the results on existence and uniqueness of a weak solution to the model and, under additional assumptions, the continuous dependence of a solution on the data. The mechanical damage of the material, caused by excessive stress or strain, is described by the damage function, the evolution of which is determined by a parabolic inclusion. The contact is modeled with the normal compliance condition and the associated version of Coulomb's law of dry friction. We derive a variational formulation for the problem and prove the existence of its unique weak solution. A coupled thermoviscoelastic frictional contact problem is investigated. The contact is modelled by the Signorini condition for the displacement velocities and the friction by the Coulomb law. The heat generated by friction is described by a non‐linear boundary condition with at most linear growth. The weak formulation of the problem consists of a variational inequality for the elasticity part and a variational equation for the heat conduction part. In order to prove the existence of a solution to this problem we first use an approximation of the Signorini condition by the penalty method. The existence of a solution for the approximate problem is shown using the fixed‐point theorem of Schauder. This theorem is applied to the composition of the solution operator for the contact problem with given temperature field and the solution operator for the heat equation problem with known displacement field. To obtain this proof, the unique solvability of both problems is necessary. Due to this reason it is necessary to introduce the penalty method. While the penalized contact problem has a unique solution, this is not clear for the original contact problem. Both the friction and the electrical conductivity condition on the contact surface are described with subdifferential boundary conditions. We derive a variational formulation of the problem which is of the form of a system coupling a second order hemivariational inequality for the displacement field with a time-dependent hemivariational inequality for the electric potential field. Then we prove the existence of a unique weak solution to the model. The proof is based on abstract results for second order evolutionary inclusions in Banach spaces. The aim of this paper is to develop an efficient hybrid computational model to analyze the frictional impact dynamic responses of soft finger during the tapping event. The large deformation field and inertial field of soft structure are discretized by absolute nodal coordinate formulation. Lagrange multiplier method is adopted to account for the constraints between neighbor phalanges. Considering tangential contact compliance, a lumped-parameter model at the local contact zone is presented to calculate contact forces. The governing equations of soft finger tapping system expressed by generalized coordinates are derived. An event driven scheme is given to analyze and evaluate the stick–slip transitions. The governing equation is integrated by generalized-α method. The applications of the hybrid computational model are demonstrated using various soft finger tapping systems acted by different driven moments. The feasibility of the proposed model is validated by comparing with the LS-DYNA solution. The error of the solution calculated by the proposed model for the peak value of contact force is less than 8%. Furthermore, numerical results show that the large structural compliance and driven moments have significant effect on the frictional impact responses. The normal relative motion between the fingertip and the rough target surface will experience 1∼4 compression-restitution transitions when Young's Modulus is from 0.01 GPa to 1 GPa or the slenderness ratio of phalanx is from 10.7 to 32. When the posture of soft finger is convex at impact instance, the tangential relative motion will experience 3 slip–stick transitions during the contact process. In addition, it also can be found that the tangential contact compliance can reverse the direction of slip (i.e. ‘reverse slip’ phenomenon).  相似文献

We consider a mathematical model which describes the stationary flow of a Bingham fluid with friction. The frictional contact is modeled by a general velocity dependent dissipation functional. We derive a weak formulation of the model which consists in a variational inequality for the velocity field. We establish the existence and uniqueness of the weak solution as well as its continuous dependence with respect to the contact condition. We derive a variational formulation for the problem and then, under a smallness assumption on the data, we prove the existence of a unique weak solution to the model. We also investigate the behavior of the solution with respect the electric data on the contact surface and prove a continuous dependence result. Then, we introduce a fully discrete scheme, based on the finite element method to approximate the spatial variable and the backward Euler scheme to discretize the time derivatives. We treat the contact by using a penalized approach and a version of Newton’s method. We implement this scheme in a numerical code and, in order to verify its accuracy, we present numerical simulations in the study of two-dimensional test problems. These simulations provide a numerical validation of our continuous dependence result and illustrate the effects of the conductivity of the foundation, as well.  相似文献

The process is quasistatic, the material’s behavior is described with a viscoplastic constitutive law with internal state variable and the contact is modelled with normal compliance and unilateral constraint. The wear of the contact surfaces is taken into account, and is modelled with a version of Archard’s law. We derive a mixed variational formulation of the problem which involve implicit history-dependent operators. Then, we prove the unique weak solvability of the contact model. The proof is based on a fixed point argument proved in Sofonea et al. (Commun. Pure Appl. We consider the elasticity problem in a heterogeneous domain with an ε-periodic micro-structure, ε ≪ 1, including a multiple micro-contact in a simply connected matrix domain with inclusions completely surrounded by cracks, which do not connect the boundary, or a textile-like material. The contact is described by the Signorini and Coulomb-friction contact conditions. In the case of the Coulomb friction, the dissipative functional is state dependent, like in [2]. A time discretization scheme from [2] reduces the contact problem to the Tresca one (with prescribed frictional traction or state independent dissipation) on each time-increment. We further look for the spatial homogenization. The limiting energy and the dissipation term in the stability condition were obtained for the contact with Tresca's friction law in [4] for closed cracks and can be extended to textile-like materials. Using these results and the concept of energetic solutions for evolutional quasi-variational problems from [2], for a uniform time-step partition, the existence can be proved for the solution of the continuous problem and a subsequence of incremental solutions weakly converging to the continuous one uniformly in time. Furthermore, the irreversible frictional displacements at micro-level lead to a kind of an evolutional plastic behavior of the homogenized medium. (© 2013 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
