Subwavelength structured surfaces with a broadband antireflection function are analyzed by using a finite difference time domain method. The 2D periodic pure conical and pyramidal structures and several composite structured surfaces composing of conical and pyramidal structures are presented and discussed. It is found that the antireflection function will decrease for the same size of structures when the structure arrangement is discontinuous and the results of the structures with an aspect ratio of 2.0 are obviously better than the 1.0. It is also found that some composite structured surfaces have powerful antireflection function in the spectral ranges of 400-1400 nm within the 800-1200 nm spectral ranges.  相似文献

Families of complex superlattice structures, consisting of combinations of basic hexagonal or square patterns, are found in a photosensitive reaction-diffusion system. The structures are induced by simple illumination patterns whose wavelengths are appropriately related to that of the system's intrinsic Turing pattern. Computer simulations agree with the structures and their stability. The technique offers a general approach to generating superlattices for use in information storage and other applications.  相似文献

3D-quasi-crystals formed in strata of a glow discharge are scanned in the optical range with the help of a moving laser knife and high-speed videorecording. The spatial positions of dusty grains are determined. The ordering of structures and the type of arrangement of particles are determined from a comparison of pair correlation functions constructed for the structures under study with correlation functions corresponding to ideal crystalline structures. Several types of unit cells are found through the visual collation of separate parts of structures. As compared to data from the literature on experiments in a high-frequency discharge, the structures under study have a clearly pronounced anisotropy.  相似文献

Periodic structures appearing in a thin AgCl-Ag film on a plane-parallel substrate irradiated with a normally incident, focused, linearly polarized Gaussian laser beam λ=633 nm) with a waist spot size of about 0.01 mm have been studied. The structures are formed in the beam spot and its nearest vicinity (with a radius of up to 0.2 mm) as a result of the interference of the incident beam and the waveguide TE modes excited due to the Rayleigh scattering in the film. In the vicinity of the waist spot, the periodic structures develop under the action of a coherent recurrent scattering from back side of the substrate. In addition, periodic structures of ring symmetry have been revealed far (up to 10 mm) from the irradiated spot. It is demonstrated that these structures are due to the interference of radiation scattered from the film and back side of the substrate and reflected from the two boundaries. Interference models are proposed that provide for a good agreement of the interference period, calculated as a function of the distance from the beam center, with the experimental values.  相似文献

Atomic structures and electronic properties of heterojunctions of Ti-TiC and TiC-single wall carbon nanotube, Ti48-Ti19C26 and Ti19C24-C30, are studied by the first principles calculation based on the density functional theory. At the junctions, these substrates are smoothly connected with each other and keep their original structures and electronic properties. The structures of the junctions obtained in the present work give a realistic model to ab initio study for electronic transport properties through the junction of a carbon nanotube and an electrode.  相似文献

We present an extensive computer simulation study of structure formation in amphiphilic block copolymer solutions after a quench from a homogeneous state. By using a mesoscopic field-based simulation method, we are able to access time scales in the range of a second. A "phase diagram" of final structures is mapped out as a function of the concentration and solvent philicity of the copolymers. A rich spectrum of structures is observed, ranging from spherical and rodlike micelles and vesicles to toroidal and net-cage micelles. The dynamical pathways leading to these structures are analyzed in detail, and possible ways to control the structures are discussed briefly.  相似文献

Nonlinear instabilities of boundary layer streaks are investigated experimentally. Extensive measurements visualizing the sinusoidal and varicose instabilities of streaky structures at nonlinear stage of the breakdown process in boundary layer are presented. The flow behaviour in the course of spatial evolution of the streaky structures with a secondary high-frequency disturbance generated on them is discussed. Various scenarios of origination and development of coherent vortex structures examined in physical experiments are considered. Specific features of the development of sinusoidal and varicose cases of destruction of the steady streamwise streaks are demonstrated, such as transverse and streamwise modulations of the streak by the secondary-disturbance frequency, appearance of new streaky structures in the downstream direction, and emergence and evolution of unsteady Λ-shaped structures localized in space in both cases.  相似文献

Optical interference holography has been proved to be a useful technique in fabricating periodic photonic crystals in which electromagnetic waves are forbidden in certain frequency band-gaps. Compared to periodic crystals, quasicrystals have higher point group symmetry and are more favorable in achieving complete band-gaps. In this report, a top-cut prism interferometer is designed and optimized for photonic quasicrystals. By changing the prism parameters and characteristics of different beams, different quasicrystalline structures can be obtained. At the same time, the diffraction patterns of the designed structures are also provided and reveal the ten-fold symmetry of the structures more clearly. Furthermore, the effect of the intensity threshold on the quasicrystalline structures is also investigated. This will provide guidance for the large-area and fast production of ten-fold quasicrystalline structures with high quality.  相似文献

The structural and thermodynamic properties of a matrix model of homo-RNA folding with linear external interaction are studied. The interaction distinguishes paired bases of the homo-RNA chain from the unpaired bases hence dividing the possible RNA structures given by the linear model into two structural regimes. The genus distribution functions show that the total number of structures for any given length of the chain are reduced for the simple linear interaction considered. The partition function of the model exhibits a scaling relation with the matrix model in which the base pairing strength parameter is re-scaled (G. Vernizzi, H. Orland, A. Zee, Phys. Rev. Lett. 94, 168103 (2005)). The thermodynamics of the model are computed for i) largely secondary structures, (with tertiary structures suppressed by a factor 10-4) and ii) secondary plus tertiary structures. A structural change for large even lengths is observed in the free energy and specific heat. This change with largely secondary structures appears much before (with respect to length of the chain) than when all the structures (secondary and pseudoknots) are considered. The appearance of different structures which dominate the ensemble with varying temperatures is also found as a function of the interaction parameter for different types of structures (given by different numbers of pairings).  相似文献

Centrifugally driven interchange instabilities are observed in a laboratory plasma confined by a dipole magnetic field. The instabilities appear when an equatorial mesh is biased to drive a radial current that causes rapid axisymmetric plasma rotation. The observed instabilities are quasicoherent in the laboratory frame of reference; they have global radial mode structures and low azimuthal mode numbers, and they are modified by the presence of energetic, magnetically confined electrons. Results from a self-consistent nonlinear simulation reproduce the measured mode structures.  相似文献

The problem of existence and stability of soliton-like structures in a system consisting of a thin layer with resonance nonlinearity, a feedback mirror, and a photonic crystal located between them is studied. It is shown that, depending on the parameters of the photonic crystal, its presence can lead both to a change in the background on which localized structures are excited and to an increase in the interval of test pulse amplitudes necessary for the excitation of these structures.  相似文献

Space-time dynamics of the system modeling collective behaviour of electrically coupled nonlinear units is investigated. The dynamics of a local cell is described by the FitzHugh-Nagumo system with complex threshold excitation. It is shown that such a system supports formation of two distinct kinds of stable two-dimensional spatially localized moving structures without any external stabilizing actions. These are regular and polymorphic structures. The regular structures preserve their shape and velocity under propagation while the shape and velocity as well as other integral characteristics of polymorphic structures show rather complex temporal behaviour. Both kinds of structures represent novel sorts of spatially temporal patterns which have not been observed before in typical two-component reaction-diffusion type systems. It is demonstrated that there exist two types of regular structures: single and bound states and three types of polymorphic structures: periodic, quasiperiodic and even chaotic ones. The partition of the parameter plane into regions corresponding to the existence of these different types of structures is carried out. High multistability of regular structures is indicated. The interaction of regular structures is investigated. The correspondence between the structures and trajectories in multidimensional phase space associated with the system is given. Bifurcation mechanisms leading to the loss of stability of regular structures as well as to a transition from one type of polymorphic structure to another are indicated. The mechanisms of formation of regular and polymorphic structures are discussed.  相似文献

The coherent structures of flow over a double elliptic surface are experimentally investigated in a supersonic lownoise wind tunnel at Mach number 3 using nano-tracer planar laser scattering(NPLS)and particle image velocimetry(PIV)techniques.High spatiotemporal resolution images and velocity fields of both laminar and turbulent inflows over the test model are captured.Based on the time-correlation images,the spatial and temporal evolutionary characteristics of the coherent structures are investigated.The flow structures in the NPLS images are in good agreement with the velocity fluctuation fields by PIV.From statistically significant ensembles,spatial correlation analysis of both cases is performed to quantify the mean size and the orientation of coherent structures.The results indicate that the mean structure is elliptical in shape and the structural angles in the separated region of laminar inflow are slightly smaller than that of turbulent inflow.Moreover,the structural angles of both cases increase with their distance away from the wall.  相似文献

A structural transition for laser cooled ion Coulomb crystals in a linear Paul trap just above the stability limit of parametrically resonant excitation of bulk plasma modes has been observed. In contrast to the usual spheroidal shell structures present below the stability limit, the ions arrange in a "string-of-disks" configuration. The spheroidal envelopes of the string-of-disks structures are in agreement with results from cold fluid theory usually valid for ion Coulomb crystals if the ion systems are assumed to be rotating collectively.  相似文献

The behavior of biperiodic stripe domain structures in quasi-uniaxial magnetic films with a near-critical thickness is studied by scanning magnetic force microscopy and magnetooptical diffraction. In these films, antiphase and hybrid biperiodic domain structures are found to be absent, and the phase transitions between monoperiodic and in-phase biperiodic domain structures are shown to proceed through two-dimensional domain arrays that are amorphized in the arrangement of near-surface distortions in the domain-wall profile.  相似文献

We have investigated fast- and slow-mode solitary profiles in a five-component plasma consisting of positively and negatively charged pair ions, hydrogen ions, and hotter and colder electrons. Of these, the heavier ions and colder photoelectrons are of cometary origin while the other components are of solar origin; the electrons are described by kappa distributions. The Zakharov-Kuznetsov (ZK) equation is derived, and solutions for fast- and slow-mode solitary structures are plotted for parameters relevant to comet Halley. We found that the presence of hydrogen ions determines the polarity of the fast- and slow-mode solitary structures. Also, variations of equilibrium number density of hydrogen ions and charge numbers on the heavier pair ions act differently on the fast- and slow-mode solitary structures. The addition of hydrogen ions significantly affects the amplitude of the solitary structures for the fast mode. Further, the cyclotron frequency of the lighter and heavier ions has a noticeable effect on the width of the solitary waves.  相似文献

A moderate Reynolds number,and high subsonic turbulent round jet is investigated by large eddy simulation.The detailed results(e.g.mean flow properties,turbulence intensities,etc.)are validated against the experimental data,and special attention is paid to study motions of coherent structures and their contributions to far-field noise.Eulerian methods(e.g.Q-criteria andλ2criteria)are utilized for visualizing coherent structures directly for instantaneous flow fields,and Lagrangian coherent structures accounting for integral effect are shown via calculating fields of finite time Lyapunov exponents based on bidimensional velocity fields.All visualizations demonstrate that intrusion of three-dimensional vortical structures into jet core occurs intermittently at the end of the potential core,resulting from the breakdown of helical vortex rings in the shear layer.Intermittencies in the shear layer and on the centerline are studied quantitatively,and distinctively different distributions of probability density function are observed.Moreover,the physical sound sources are obtained through a filtering operation of defined sources in Lighthill’s analogy,and their distributions verify that intrusion of vortical structures into the core region serves as important sound sources,in particular for noise at aft angles.The facts that intermittent behaviors are caused by motions of coherent structures and correlated with noise generation imply that to establish reasonable sound sources in active noise production region based on intermittent coherent structures is one of the key issues for far-field noise prediction.  相似文献
