Owing to the serious energy crisis and environmental problems caused by fossil energy consumption, development of high-energy-density batteries is becoming increasingly significant to satisfy the rapidly growing social demands. Lithium-ion batteries have received widespread attention because of their high energy densities and environmental friendliness. At present, they are widely used in portable electronic devices and electric vehicles. However, security aspects need to be addressed urgently. Substantial advances in liquid electrolyte-based lithium-ion batteries have become a performance bottleneck in the recent years. Traditional lithium-ion batteries use organic liquids as electrolytes, but the flammability and corrosion of these electrolytes considerably limit their development. Continuous growth of lithium dendrites can pierce the separator, leading to electrolyte leakage and combustion, which is a serious safety hazard. Replacement of organic electrolytes with solid-state electrolytes is one of the promising solutions for the development of next-generation energy storage devices, because they have high energy densities and are safe. Solid electrolytes can remarkably alleviate the safety hazards involved in the use of traditional liquid-based lithium-ion batteries. In addition, the composite of solid-state electrolytes and lithium metal is expected to result in a higher energy density. However, due to the lack of fluidity of the solid electrolytes, problems such as limited solid-solid contact area and increased impedance at the interface when solid-state electrolytes are in contact with electrodes must be solved. The localized and buried interface is a major drawback that restricts the electrochemical performance and practical applications of the solid-state batteries. Fabrication of a stable interface between the electrodes and solid-state electrolyte is the main challenge in the development of solid-state lithium metal batteries. All these aspects are critical to the electrochemical performance and safety of the solid-state batteries. Current research mainly focuses on addressing the problems related to the solid-solid interface in solid-state batteries and improving the electrochemical performance of such batteries. In this review, we comprehensively summarize the challenges in the fabrication of solid-state batteries, including poor chemical and electrochemical compatibilities and mechanical instability. Research progress on the improvement strategies for interface problems and the advanced characterization methods for the interface problems are discussed in detail. Meanwhile, we also propose a prospect for the future development of solid-state batteries to guide the rational designing of next-generation high-energy solid-state batteries. There are many critical problems in solid-state batteries that must be fully understood. With further research, all-solid-state batteries are expected to replace the traditional liquid-based lithium-ion batteries and become an important system for a safe and reliable energy storage.  相似文献

Li-metal anodes are one of the most promising energy storage systems that can considerably exceed the current technology to meet the ever-increasing demand of power applications. The apparent cycling performances and dendrite challenges of Li-metal anodes are highly influenced by the interface layer on the Li-metal anode because the intrinsic high reactivity of metallic Li results in an inevitable solid-state interface layer between the Li-metal and electrolytes. In this review, we summarize the recent progress on the interfacial chemistry regarding the interactions between electrolytes and ion migration through dynamic interfaces. The critical factors that affect the interface formation for constructing a stable interface with a low resistance are reviewed. Moreover, we review emerging strategies for rationally designing multiple-structured solid-state electrolytes and their interfaces, including the interfacial properties within hybrid electrolytes and the solid electrolyte/electrode interface. Finally, we present scientific issues and perspectives associated with Li-metal anode interfaces toward a practical Li-metal battery.  相似文献

Solid-state lithium batteries are promising and safe energy storage devices for mobile electronics and electric vehicles. In this work, we report a facile in situ polymerization of 1,3-dioxolane electrolytes to fabricate integrated solid-state lithium batteries. The in situ polymerization and formation of solid-state dioxolane electrolytes on interconnected carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and active materials is the key to realizing a high-performance battery with excellent interfacial contact among CNTs, active materials and electrolytes. Therefore, the electrodes could be tightly integrated into batteries through the CNTs and electrolyte. Electrons/ions enable full access to active materials in the whole electrode. Electrodes with a low resistance of 4.5 Ω □−1 and high lithium-ion diffusion efficiency of 2.5×10−11 cm2 s−1 can significantly improve the electrochemical kinetics. Subsequently, the batteries demonstrated high energy density, amazing charge/discharge rate and long cycle life.  相似文献

All-solid-state lithium batteries are considered to be a new battery system with great development potential and application prospects due to the advantages of high energy density and high security.As a key component of all-solid-state lithium batteries,the development of solid-state electrolytes has received extensive attention in recent years,but most solid electrolytes still exhibit problems,such as low ion conductivity and poor interface compatibility.The design of composite solid-state electrolyte materials with both excellent electrochemical and mechanical properties is an effective way to develop all-solid-state lithium batteries.This review introduces different types of pure component solid electrolytes and analyzes their respective advantages and characteristics firstly.Furthermore,the research progress of composite electrolytes in preparation method,ionic conduction,suppression of lithium dendrites,and the improvement of electrochemical performances are reviewed from the perspective of composite electrolyte structure design,which is to meet different performance requirements.And the future development direction and trend of composite electrolytes are prospected.  相似文献

固态锂电池具有安全性好、能量密度高等优点,在新能源汽车和智能电子等领域具有广泛的应用前景。然而,由化学/电化学和物理因素引起的界面副反应与高界面阻抗问题制约了其进一步发展。先前的综述已对解决化学/电化学界面问题的方法有了相对全面的阐述,但并未细致讨论不同结构固态电池中物理界面的影响及应对策略。本文将简要介绍化学/电化学界面问题及其解决方案;重点按结构特点将固态锂电池分为三明治结构、粉末复合结构和3D一体化结构,细致地分析不同电池结构的物理界面特点与优化策略,并对各种策略的优缺点进行比较分析;最后,对固态锂电池电极/电解质界面的未来研究方向进行展望。  相似文献

锂金属二次电池具有极高的能量密度,是下一代储能电池的研究热点。然而,金属锂负极在传统碳酸酯电解液1 mol·L?1 LiPF6-EC/DEC(ethylene carbonate/diethyl carbonate)中充放电时,存在严重的枝晶生长和循环效率低下等问题,阻碍了其商业化应用。因此,开发与锂负极兼容的新型电解液体系是目前重要的研究任务。与传统稀溶液相比,高浓度电解液体系具有独有的物化性质和优异的界面相容性,并且能有效抑制锂枝晶生长、显著提升锂负极的循环可逆性,因而格外受到关注。本文综述了高浓度电解液及局部高浓电解液体系的最新研究进展,分析了其溶液化学结构和物化性质,对其与锂负极的界面相容性、枝晶抑制效果、效率提升能力及界面稳定性机制进行了探讨;文章着重介绍了高浓与局部高浓电解液体系在锂金属二次电池中的应用,同时从基础科学研究和应用研究两个层面对高浓电解液和局部高浓电解液存在的主要问题进行了简要分析,并对其未来发展方向进行了展望。  相似文献

全固态电池因其较高的安全性和能量密度而成为下一代电动汽车和智能电网用储能器件的重点研究方向之一。开发具有高室温锂离子电导率、化学/电化学稳定性优异、对电极材料兼容性优异等特点的固态电解质材料是推动全固态电池发展的重要研究课题之一。硫化物电解质因其相对较高的室温电导率(~10−3 S∙cm−1)、较低的电解质/电极固-固界面阻抗等优点而在众多无机固体电解质材料中成为研究热点。本文基于作者多年研究成果和当前国内外发表的相关工作,从电解质的结构、离子传导、合成、综合性能改善及在全固态电池中的应用等方面系统总结了锂硫银锗矿固态电解质材料研究,并分析了该类电解质面临的问题和挑战,最后探讨了其未来可能的研究方向和发展趋势。  相似文献

To meet the demand for long-range electric vehicles with high-energy-density batteries,the solid-state batteries(SSBs)have attracted ever-increasing attention due to their enormous potential in affording the energy density greater than 400 W·h/kg.As the key materials,the solid electrolytes can be classified as inorganic electrolyte and organic electrolyte.The former usually has high ionic conductivity,good stability and mechanical properties,whereas being heavy and brittle.The latter is usually flexible,light and easy to mass produce,nevertheless has poor ionic conductivity and stability.Thus,the combination of the organic and the inorganic electrolytes for the composite membranes has become the inevitable trend to achieve the high energy density and safety of lithium batteries.From the perspective of practical application,this paper discusses how to construct the ideal organic-inorganic composite solid electrolyte with low areal specific resistance,thin texture,wide electrochemical window and high safety for applicable SSBs.Furthermore,the critical challenges and future development directions are prospected for the composite solid electrolytes.  相似文献

Sulfide-based solid-state electrolytes with ultrahigh lithium ion conductivities have been considered as the most promising electrolyte system to enable practical all-solid-state batteries. However, the practical applications of the sulfide-based all-solid-state batteries are hindered by severe interfacial issues as well as large-scale material preparation and battery fabrication problems. Liquid-involved interfacial treatments and preparation processes compatible with current battery manufacturing capable of improving electrode/electrolyte interface contacts and realizing the mass production of sulfide electrolytes and the scalable fabrication of sulfide-based battery component have attracted considerable attention. In this perspective, the current advances in liquid-involved treatments and processes in sulfide-based all-solid-state batteries are summarized. Then relative chemical mechanisms and existing challenges are included. Finally, future guidance is also proposed for sulfide-based batteries. Focusing on the sulfide-based all-solid-state batteries, we aim at providing a fresh insight on understandings towards liquid-involved processes and promoting the development of all-solid-state batteries with higher energy density and better safety.  相似文献

As a matter of fact, most of our technical electrochemical energy storage systems operate outside the limitations of thermodynamics. As in the case of rechargeable batteries with aqueous electrolytes (part I of this article), kinetics control the operation and safety also in batteries with nonaqueous electrolytes (this second and final part).A striking example is the lithium ion battery which possesses an operating voltage of >3,5 V and a very high energy density. From a thermodynamic viewpoint such a cell is impossible because the used organic electrolyte is in contact with two lithium insertion electrodes that operate at extreme reducing and oxidizing potentials, respectively. However, a unique mechanism kinetically prevents the decomposition of the electrolyte due to the formation of electronically insulating interphases between electrode and electrolyte that are still permeable to the electrochemically active Li+ cations. Lithium ion batteries have already made their breakthrough into the market as small format systems for portable electronics. The only „kinetically shielded”︁ high energy density, however, might be a safety complication for large format batteries, which are assembled for electric vehicle (EV) propulsion. Safety concerns are also valid for high temperature (300°C) batteries such as the sodium-sulfur and sodium-nickel chloride systems. These systems are still in the stage of „experimental batteries”︁, which may find future application in large units for EV's or uninterruptible power systems. The paper is concluded by a performance comparison of various rechargeable battery systems with aqueous and nonaqueous electrolytes. In the recent times research towards solid state supercapacitors (SSS) have increased drastically due to the promising performance in futuristic technologies particularly in portable and flexible electronics like smart watches, smart fabrics, foldable smartphones and tablets. Also, when compared to supercapacitors using liquid electrolyte, solid electrolyte has several advantages like high energy density, safety, high cycle life, flexible form factor, and less environmental impact. The crucial factor determining the sustainability of a technology is the eco-friendliness since the natural resources are being exploited in a wide scale. Numerous studies have focused on biodegradable materials for supercapacitor electrodes, electrolytes, and other inactive components. Making use of these biodegradable materials to design a SSS enables the technology to sustain for a very long time since biodegradable materials are not only environment friendly but also, they show relatively high performance. This review focuses on recent progress of different biodegradable electrodes, and electrolytes along with their properties, electrochemical performance and biodegradable capabilities for SSS have been analyzed and provides a concise summary enabling readers to understand the importance of biodegradable materials and to narrow down the research in a more rational way.  相似文献

Solid-state electrolytes (SSEs) with high ionic conductivity and superior stability are considered to be a key technology for the safe operation of solid-state lithium batteries. However, current SSEs are incapable of meeting the requirements for practical solid-state lithium batteries. Here we report a general strategy for achieving high-performance SSEs by engineering polymers of intrinsic microporosity (PIMs). Taking advantage of the interconnected ion pathways generated from the ionizable groups, high ionic conductivity (1.06×10−3 S cm−1 at 25 °C) is achieved for the PIMs-based SSEs. The mechanically strong (50.0 MPa) and non-flammable SSEs combine the two superiorities of outstanding Li+ conductivity and electrochemical stability, which can restrain the dendrite growth and prevent Li symmetric batteries from short-circuiting even after more than 2200 h cycling. Benefiting from the rational design of SSEs, PIMs-based SSEs Li-metal batteries can achieve good cycling performance and superior feasibility in a series of withstand abuse tests including bending, cutting, and penetration. Moreover, the PIMs-based SSEs endow high specific capacity (11307 mAh g−1) and long-term discharge/charge stability (247 cycles) for solid-state Li−O2 batteries. The PIMs-based SSEs present a powerful strategy for enabling safe operation of high-energy solid-state batteries.  相似文献

As lithium-ion batteries have been the state-of-the-art electrochemical energy storage technology, the overwhelming demand for energy storage on a larger scale has triggered the development of next-generation battery technologies possessing high energy density, longer cycle lives, and enhanced safety. However, commercial liquid electrolytes have been plagued by safety issues due to their flammability and instability in contact with electrodes. Efforts have focused on developing such electrolytes by covalently immobilizing anionic groups onto a polymer backbone, which only allows Li+ cations to be mobile through the polymer matrix. Such ion-selective polymers provide many advantages over binary ionic conductors in battery operation, such as minimization of cell polarization and dendrite growth. In this review, the design, synthesis, fabrication, and class are reviewed to give insight into the physicochemical properties of single-ion conducting polymer electrolytes. The standard characterization method and remarkable electrochemical properties are further highlighted, and perspectives on current challenges and future directions are also discussed.

The 2019 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to three scientists who have made great contributions in discovery of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs). The LIBs with graphite as anode have dominated the rechargeable battery markets of portable electronics and electric vehicles(EVs). For the next-generation batteries, high energy density is the important trend of development. Thus lithium metal is considered as the most promising anode owing to its highest theoretical capacity and the lowest electrochemical potential. However, the severe safety concerns hinder its practical application. The uncontrollable growth of lithium dendrites leads to capacity decay, low Coulombic efficiency, possible short circuit and thermal runaway. In this perspective, various methods to protect Li metal anode have been analyzed. The development of solid-state electrolytes(SSEs) and the role of lithium anode in SSEs are discussed. Several new strategies for improving the safety of Li metal based batteries are proposed to realize the real market-oriented security applications.  相似文献

From the viewpoint of element strategy, non‐Li batteries with promising negative and positive electrodes have been widely studied to support a sustainable society. To develop non‐Li batteries having high energy density, research on electrolyte materials is pivotal. Solvate ionic liquids (SILs) are an emerging class of electrolytes possessing somewhat superior properties for battery applications compared to conventional ionic liquid electrolytes. In this account, we describe our recent efforts regarding SIL‐based electrolytes for Li, Na, K, and Mg batteries with respect to structural, physicochemical, and electrochemical characteristics. Systematic studies based on crystallography and Raman spectroscopy combined with thermal/electrochemical stability analysis showed that the balance of competitive cation?anion and cation?solvent interactions predominates the stability of the solvate cations. We also demonstrated battery applications of SILs as electrolytes for non‐Li batteries, particularly for Na batteries.  相似文献

Cu−Li batteries leveraging the two-electron redox property of Cu can offer high energy density and low cost. However, Cu−Li batteries are plagued by limited solubility and a shuttle effect of Cu ions in traditional electrolytes, which leads to low energy density and poor cycling stability. In this work, we rationally design a solid-state sandwich electrolyte for solid-state Cu−Li batteries, in which a deep-eutectic-solvent gel with high Cu-ion solubility is devised as a Cu-ion reservoir while a ceramic Li1.4Al0.4Ti1.6(PO4)3 interlayer is used to block Cu-ion crossover. Because of the high ionic conductivity (0.55 mS cm−1 at 25 °C), wide electrochemical window (>4.5 V vs. Li+/Li), and high Cu ion solubility of solid-state sandwich electrolyte, a solid-state Cu−Li battery demonstrates a high energy density of 1 485 Wh kgCu−1and long-term cyclability with 97 % capacity retention over 120 cycles. The present study lays the groundwork for future research into low-cost solid-state Cu−Li batteries.  相似文献

锂金属具有理论比容量高、电位低等优点,被认为是电极中的“圣杯”。然而,锂金属负极在循环过程当中存在着不可控的枝晶生长、体积膨胀等问题,严重地阻碍了锂金属电池的商业化进程。本综述首先概述了锂枝晶的形成机理,然后对由小及大,自内而外,总结了近年来三种不同层次的锂金属电池复合负极:锂金属负极内部结构的复合、锂金属电池内部结构的复合以及锂金属电池内部环境与外界操作条件的复合。最后,本综述对未来多层次锂金属电池复合负极的前景做出了展望。  相似文献

固态聚合物电解质被认为是解决传统液态锂金属电池安全隐患和循环性能的关键材料,但仍然存在离子电导率低,界面兼容性差等问题。近年来,基于无机填料与聚合物电解质的高锂离子电导的有机-无机复合电解质备受关注。根据渗流理论,有机-无机界面被认为是复合电解质离子电导率改善的主要原因。因此,设计与优化有机-无机渗流界面对提高复合电解质离子电导率具有重要意义。本文从渗流结构的设计出发,综述了不同维度结构的无机填料用于高锂离子电导的有机-无机复合电解质的研究进展,并对比分析了不同渗流结构的优缺点。基于上述评述,展望了有机-无机复合电解质的未来发展趋势和方向。  相似文献
