The Josephson currents in s-wave superconductor/ferromagnet insulator/p-wave superconductor(s/FI/p) junctions are calculated as a function of temperature and the phase taking into account the roughness scattering effect at interface. The phase dependence of the Josephson current I (φ) between s-wave and px-wave superconductor is predicted to be sin(2φ). The ferromagnet scattering effect, the barrier strength, and the roughness strength at interface suppress the dc currents in s/FI/p junction.  相似文献

We study the proximity effect between conventional superconductor and magnetic normal metal with a spin-orbit interaction of the Rashba type. Using the phenomenological Ginzburg-Landau theory and the quasiclassical Eilenberger approach it is demonstrated that the Josephson junction with such a metal as a weak link has a special nonsinusoidal current-phase relation. The ground state of this junction is characterized by the finite phase difference phi{0}, which is proportional to the strength of the spin-orbit interaction and the exchange field in the normal metal. The proposed mechanism of the phi{0} junction formation gives a direct coupling between the superconducting current and the magnetic moment in the weak link. Therefore the phi{0} junctions open interesting perspectives for the superconducting spintronics.  相似文献

Tunneling conductance in normal metal/insulator/triplet superconductor junctions is studied theoretically as a function of the bias voltage at zero temperature and finite temperature. The results show there are zero-bias conductance peak, zero-bias conductance dip and double-minimum structures in the spectra for p-wave superconductor junctions. The existence of such structures in the conductance spectrum can be taken as evidence that the pairing symmetry of Sr2RuO4 is p-wave symmetry.  相似文献

The mutual interplay between superconductivity and magnetism in superconductor/ferromagnet heterostructures may give rise to unusual proximity effects beyond current knowledge. Especially, spin-triplet Cooper pairs could be created at carefully engineered superconductor/ferromagnet interfaces. Here we report a giant proximity effect on spin dynamics in superconductor/ferromagnet/superconductor Josephson junctions. Below the superconducting transition temperature T_C, the ferromagnetic resonance field at X-band(~9.0 GHz) shifts rapidly to a lower field with decreasing temperature. In strong contrast, this phenomenon is absent in ferromagnet/superconductor bilayers and superconductor/insulator/ferromagnet/superconductor multilayers. Such an intriguing phenomenon can not be interpreted by the conventional Meissner effect. Instead, we propose that the strong influence on spin dynamics could be due to spin-transfer torque associated with spin-triplet supercurrents in ferromagnetic Josephson junctions with precessing magnetization.  相似文献

We study the Josephson effect in the superconductor/diffusive half metal/superconductor junctions by using the recursive Green function method. In the presence of spin-flip scatterings at the interface, odd-frequency spin-triplet Cooper pairs penetrate deeply into a half metal and carry Josephson current. The critical Josephson current increases with decreasing temperatures near the transition temperature. At low temperatures, however, the critical current decreases with decreasing temperatures. Such reentrant behavior is unusual in the case of s-wave superconductor junctions. The penetration of odd-frequency pairs modifies quasiparticle density of states in a half metal near the Fermi energy, which is responsible for the nonmonotonic temperature dependence of critical Josephson current.  相似文献

The dc Josephson effect in superconductor / insulator / normal metal / insulator/ferromagnetic superconductor junctions has been studied. We calculate the de Josephson current based on the Bogoliubov de Gennes equation. The Josephson current is derived as a function of exchange field in ferromagnetic superconductor, normal metal thickness and insulating barrier strength. It is found that there exists an oscillation relation between the critical Josephson current and the normal metal thickness. This paper theoretically studies Josephson spin current through triplet superconductor/ferromagnet/triplet superconductor junctions. At the ferromagnet/superconductor interfaces, the ferromagnetic scattering potential gives rise to coupling between the Andreev bound states and lifts their spin degeneracy. These spin-split Andreev states carry the Josephson spin current through the junctions. The generated spin supercurrent can be controlled by the magnetization of a ferromagnetic thin layer and bias voltage across the junctions.  相似文献

We analyze the Josephson effect between a conventional and a non-centrosymmetric superconductor to examine characteristic features of such junctions and the symmetry of the superconducting phases. As a concrete example, we consider the non-centrosymmetric superconductor CePt3Si where Rashba spin-orbit coupling plays a crucial role and affects the Josephson pair tunneling. In this case, the Josephson coupling is composed of two parts, spin-singlet-like and spin-triplet-like components. The triplet-like component can lead to a Josephson coupling shifted by π relative to the singlet-like coupling. This has important implications on the interference effects and may explain some recent experimental results for the Al/CePt3Si junction.  相似文献

We report a theoretical study on spin transport in the hybrid Josephson junction composed of singlet s-wave and triplet p-wave superconductor. The node of the triplet pair potential is considered perpendicular to the interface of the junction. Based on a symmetry analysis, we predict that there is no net spin density at the interface of the junction but instead a transverse mode-resolved spin density can exist and a nonzero spin current can flow transversely along the interface of the junction. The predictions are numerically demonstrated by means of the lattice Matsubara Green's function method. It is also shown that, when a normal metal is sandwiched in between two superconductors, both spin current and transverse mode-resolved spin density are only residing at two interfaces due to the smearing effect of the multimode transport. Our findings are useful for identifying the pairing symmetry of the p-wave superconductor and generating spin current.  相似文献

Motivated by a recent experiment [Keizer et al., Nature (London) 439, 825 (2006)], we study the Josephson effect in superconductor/diffusive half metal/superconductor junctions using the recursive Green function method. The spin-flip scattering at the junction interfaces opens the Josephson channel of the odd-frequency spin-triplet Cooper pairs. As a consequence, the local density of states in a half metal has a large peak at the Fermi energy. Therefore the odd-frequency pairs can be detected experimentally by using the scanning tunneling spectroscopy.  相似文献

Based upon the recently introduced thermophase and piezophase mesoscopic quantum effects in Josephson junctions, several novel phenomena in a twisted superconductor (containing a small annular SIS-type contact) under the influence of a thermal gradient and applied magnetic field are predicted. Namely, we consider a torsional analog of Josephson piezomagnetism (and related magnetomechanical effect), as well as the possible generation of a heat-flux-induced magnetic moment in a weakly coupled superconductor under torsional deformation (analog of Zavaritskii effect) along with the concomitant phenomena of piezothermopower and piezothermal conductivity. The conditions under which the predicted effects can be experimentally measured in conventional superconductors and nanostructure materials with implanted Josephson contacts are discussed.  相似文献
