We prove that every m-th root metric with isotropic mean Berwald curvature reduces to a weakly Berwald metric. Then we show that an m-th root metric with isotropic mean Landsberg curvature is a weakly Landsberg metric. We find necessary and sufficient condition under which conformal β-change of anm-th root metric is locally dually flat. Finally, we prove that the conformal β-change of locally projectively flat m-th root metrics are locally Minkowskian.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a class of Finsler metrics which obtained by Kropina change of the class of generalized m-th root Finsler metrics. We classify projectively flat Finsler metrics in this class of metrics. Then under a condition, we show that every projectively flat Finsler metric in this class with constant flag curvature is locally Minkowskian. Finally, we find necessary and sufficient condition under which this class of metrics be locally dually flat.  相似文献

Based on Kawaguchi space, a seismic ray path through an anisotropic medium corresponds to an arclength under Zermelo's condition. From a special function in Kawaguchi space, we obtain some Finslerian metrics (mth root metric or 1-form metric). Considering a variational problem of the seismic ray, Snell's law is derived from Euler's vector, and envelopes of seismic wavefront are classified by m-values in seismic Finsler metric. Moreover, we discuss the relation between Kawaguchi space and another ray theory.  相似文献

In this paper we study a special class of Finsler metrics—m-Kropina metrics which are defined by a Riemannian metric and a 1-form. We prove that a weakly Einstein m-Kropina metric must be Einsteinian. Further, we characterize Einstein m-Kropina metrics in very simple conditions under a suitable deformation, and obtain the local structures of m-Kropina metrics which are of constant flag curvature and locally projectively flat with constant flag curvature respectively.  相似文献

We call a metric m-quasi-Einstein if \({Ric_X^m}\) (a modification of the m-Bakry–Emery Ricci tensor in terms of a suitable vector field X) is a constant multiple of the metric tensor. It is a generalization of Einstein metrics which contain Ricci solitons. In this paper, we focus on left-invariant vector fields and left-invariant Riemannian metrics on quadratic Lie groups. First we prove that any left-invariant vector field X such that the left-invariant Riemannian metric on a quadratic Lie group is m-quasi-Einstein is a Killing vector field. Then we construct infinitely many non-trivial m-quasi-Einstein metrics on solvable quadratic Lie groups G(n) for m finite.  相似文献

For a compact Hausdorff space X, C(X) denotes the algebra of all complex-valued continuous functions on X. For a positive integer n, we say that C(X) is n-th root closed if, for each fC(X), there exists gC(X) such that f=gn. It is shown that, for each integer m?2, there exists a compact Hausdorff space Xm such that C(Xm) is m-th root closed, but not n-th root closed for each integer n relatively prime to m. This answers a question posed by Countryman Jr. [R.S. Countryman Jr., On the characterization of compact Hausdorff X for which C(X) is algebraically closed, Pacific J. The m-th order detrended Brownian motion is defined as the orthogonal component of projection of the standard Brownian motion onto the subspace spanned by polynomials of degree up to m. We obtain the Karhunen-Loeve expansion for the process and establish a connection with the generalized (m-th order) Brownian bridge developed by MacNeill (1978) in the study of distributions of polynomial regression. The resulting distribution identity is also verified by a stochastic Fubini approach. As applications, large and small deviation asymptotic behaviors for the L 2 norm are given.  相似文献

We call a metric quasi-Einstein if the m-Bakry-Emery Ricci tensor is a constant multiple of the metric tensor. This is a generalization of Einstein metrics, it contains gradient Ricci solitons and is also closely related to the construction of the warped product Einstein metrics. We study properties of quasi-Einstein metrics and prove several rigidity results. We also give a splitting theorem for some Kähler quasi-Einstein metrics.  相似文献

The computational effort of pricing an m-th to default swap depends highly on the size n of the underlying basket. Usually, n different default times are modeled, but in fact the valuation only depends on the m-th smallest default time of this tuple. In this paper we attain an analytical formula for the distribution of this m-th default time. With the help of this distribution we simplify the valuation problem from an n-dimensional quadrature to a one-dimensional quadrature and break the curse of dimensionality. Applications of this modification are efficient pricing of m-th to default swaps, estimation of sensitivities and pricing of European max/min options.  相似文献

We describe a reciprocity relation between the prime ideal factorization, and related properties, of certain cyclotomic integers of the type ?n(cζm) in the cyclotomic field of the m-th roots of unity and that of the symmetrical elements ?m(cζn) in the cyclotomic field of the n-th roots. Here m and n are two positive integers, ?n is the n-th cyclotomic polynomial, ζm a primitive m-th root of unity, and c a rational integer. In particular, one of these integers is a prime element in one cyclotomic field if and only if its symmetrical counterpart is prime in the other cyclotomic field. More properties are also established for the special class of pairs of cyclotomic integers q(1−ζp)−1 and p(1−ζq)−1, where p and q are prime numbers.  相似文献

In this paper, we define some non-Riemannian curvature properties for Cartan spaces. We consider a Cartan space with the mth root metric. We prove that every mth root Cartan space of isotropic Landsberg curvature, or isotropic mean Landsberg curvature, or isotropic mean Berwald curvature reduces to a Landsberg, weakly Landsberg, and weakly Berwald spaces, respectively. It is known that the binary generalized Goppa codes are perfect codes for the weighted Hamming metrics. In this paper, we present the existence of a weighted Hamming metric that admits a binary Hamming code (resp. an extended binary Hamming code) to be perfect code. For a special weighted Hamming metric, we also give some structures of a 2-perfect code, show how to construct a 2-perfect linear code and obtain the weight distribution of a 2-perfect code from the partial information of the code.  相似文献

It is proved that there exists a metric on a Cantor set such that any finite metric space whose diameter does not exceed 1 and the number of points does not exceed n can be isometrically embedded into it. It is also proved that for any m, n ∈ N there exists a Cantor set in Rm that isometrically contains all finite metric spaces which can be embedded into Rm, contain at most n points, and have the diameter at most 1. The latter result is proved for a wide class of metrics on Rm and, in particular, for the Euclidean metric.  相似文献

We study τ-quasi Ricci-harmonic metrics. First, we shall derive some formulae which will give some integral formulae for such a class of compact manifolds that permit to obtain some rigidity results. Second, and particularly, if a τ-quasi Ricci-harmonic metric possesses constant generalized scalar curvature then we determine the generalized scalar curvature in explicit form. We investigate a class of metrics for 2-manifolds in which, except for a discrete set of singular points, the metric is locally isometric to an L1 (or equivalently L) metric, and show that with certain additional conditions such metrics are injective. We use this construction to find the tight span of squaregraphs and related graphs, and we find an injective metric that approximates the distances in the hyperbolic plane analogously to the way the rectilinear metrics approximate the Euclidean distance.  相似文献

In this paper we discuss bifurcation of critical periods in an m-th degree time-reversible system, which is a perturbation of an n-th degree homogeneous vector field with a rigidly isochronous center at the origin. We present period-bifurcation functions as integrals of analytic functions which depend on perturbation coefficients and reduce the problem of critical periods to finding zeros of a judging function. This procedure gives not only the number of critical periods bifurcating from the period annulus but also the location of these critical periods. Applying our procedure to the case n=m=2 we determine the maximum number of critical periods and their location; to the case n=m=3 we investigate the bifurcation of critical periods up to the first order in ε and obtain the expression of the second period-bifurcation function when the first one vanishes.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the space of those probability distributions which maximize the q-Rényi entropy. These distributions have the same parameter space for every q, and in the q=1 case these are the normal distributions. Some methods to endow this parameter space with a Riemannian metric is presented: the second derivative of the q-Rényi entropy, the Tsallis entropy, and the relative entropy give rise to a Riemannian metric, the Fisher information matrix is a natural Riemannian metric, and there are some geometrically motivated metrics which were studied by Siegel, Calvo and Oller, Lovri?, Min-Oo and Ruh. These metrics are different; therefore, our differential geometrical calculations are based on a new metric with parameters, which covers all the above-mentioned metrics for special values of the parameters, among others. We also compute the geometrical properties of this metric, the equation of the geodesic line with some special solutions, the Riemann and Ricci curvature tensors, and the scalar curvature. Using the correspondence between the volume of the geodesic ball and the scalar curvature we show how the parameter q modulates the statistical distinguishability of close points. We show that some frequently used metrics in quantum information geometry can be easily recovered from classical metrics.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to the problem of how close can one get with the n-th Chebyshev numbers of a compact set ?? to the theoretical lower bound cap(??) n . It is shown that for a system of m ?? 2 analytic curves, there is always a subsequence for which the Chebyshev numbers are at least (1 + ??)cap(??) n , while for another subsequence they are at most (1 + O(n ?1/(m?1)))cap(??) n . It is also shown that the last estimate is optimal. We also discuss how well a system of curves can be approximated by lemniscates in Hausdorff metric. The proofs are based on potential theoretical arguments. Simultaneous Diophantine approximation of harmonic measures lies in the background. To achieve the correct rate, a perturbation of the multi-valued complex Green??s function is introduced which makes the n-th power of its exponential single-valued and which allows the construction of Faber-like polynomials on multiply connected domains.  相似文献
