A cylindrical standing wave ultrasonic motor using bending vibration transducer was proposed in this paper. The proposed stator contains a cylinder and a bending vibration transducer. The two combining sites between the cylinder and the transducer locate at the adjacent wave loops of bending vibration of the transducer and have a distance that equal to the half wave length of bending standing wave excited in the cylinder. Thus, the bending mode of the cylinder can be excited by the bending vibration of the transducer. Two circular cone type rotors are pressed in contact to the end rims of the teeth, and the preload between the rotors and stator is accomplished by a spring and nut system. The working principle of the proposed motor was analyzed. The motion trajectories of teeth were deduced. The stator was designed and analyzed with FEM. A prototype motor was fabricated and measured. Typical output of the prototype is no-load speed of 165 rpm and maximum torque of 0.45 N m at an exciting voltage of 200 Vrms.  相似文献

The symmetry of an optical waveguide determines its modal degeneracies. A fiber with rotational symmetry of order higher than 2 has modes that either are nondegenerate and support the complete fiber symmetry or are twofold degenerate pairs of lower symmetry. The latter case applies to the fundamental modes of perfect microstructured optical fibers, guaranteeing that such fibers are not birefringent. We explore two numerical methods and demonstrate their agreement with these symmetry constraints.  相似文献

A novel linear ultrasonic motor based on in-plane longitudinal and bending mode vibration is presented in this paper. The stator of the motor is composed of a metal plate and eight piezoelectric ceramic patches. There are four long holes in the plate, designed for consideration of the longitudinal and bending mode coupling. The corresponding model is developed to optimize the mechanical and electrical coupling of the stator, which causes an ellipse motion at the contact tip of the stator when the composite vibrations with longitudinal and bending are excited. Its harmonic and transient responses are simulated and inspected. A prototype based on the model is fabricated and used to conduct experiments. Results show that the amplitude of the stator’s contact tips is significantly increased, which helps to amplify the driving force and speed of the motor. It is therefore feasible to implement effective linear movement using the developed prototype.  相似文献

This work develops an analytical model of centrifugal pendulum vibration absorber systems with equally spaced, identical absorbers and uses it to investigate the structure of the modal vibration properties. The planar model admits two translational and one rotational degrees-of-freedom for the rotor and a single arclength degree-of-freedom for each absorber. The gyroscopic effects from rotor rotation are taken into account. Examination of the associated eigenvalue problem reveals well-defined structure of the vibration modes resulting from the cyclic symmetry of the absorbers. The vibration modes are classified into rotational, translational, and absorber modes. Characteristics of each mode type are analytically proved. The effects of the absorber tuning order on the modes are derived. The critical speeds and flutter instability of the system are studied numerically and analytically.  相似文献

A traveling wave ultrasonic motor of high torque with a new configuration is proposed in this paper. In the new design, a part of the motor serves as the stator. The rotor is the vibrator consisting of a toothed metal ring with piezoelectric ceramic bonded, which generates ultrasonic vibration. The rotor is in contact with the shell of motor and is driven by the friction between the rotor and the stator. This configuration not only removes the rotor in a conventional type of traveling wave ultrasonic motor but also changes the interaction between the rotor and the stator of the motor so that it improves the output performance of the motor. Although an electric brush is added to the ultrasonic motor, it is easy to be fabricated because of the low speed of motor. The finite element method was used to compute the vibration modes of an ultrasonic motor with a diameter of 100mm to optimize the design of the motor. A 9th mode was chosen as the operation mode with a resonance frequency about 25 kHz. According to the design, a prototype was fabricated. Its performance was measured. The rotation speed-torque curves for various frequencies were obtained. The result shows that its stall torque is greater than 4 Nm within a range of 400 Hz. This ultrasonic motor was used to drive the window glass of a mobile car and the result was satisfactory. In the further the research on the friction material between the stator and the rotor is under way to improve the efficiency of the ultrasonic motor.  相似文献

A variational procedure using trial wave functions projected on to symmetry eigenstates is investigated. In the individual particle model it leads to generalized self-consistent single-particle equations being dependent on the symmetry eigenvalue. A perturbation expansion appropriate for the case of strong symmetry violations is described. Model independent expressions for the moment of inertia and the decoupling parameter are derived by applying the method to rotational symmetry.  相似文献

Performances of ultrasonic motor (USM) depend considerably on contact state between stator and rotor. To measure the contact state in a traveling wave ultrasonic motor (TWUSM), a special test method is necessary. This paper develops a new method named electric contact method to measure contact state of stator and rotor in traveling wave type USM. The effects of pre-load and exciting voltage (amplitude) of stator on contact state between stator and rotor are studied with this method. By a simulating tester of friction properties of TWUSM, the variations of stalling torque and no-load speed against the pre-load and the exciting voltage have been measured. The relative contact length that describes the contact characteristic of stator and rotor is proposed. The relation between the properties of TWUSM and the contact state of stator and rotor are presented. Additionally, according to a theoretical contact model of stator and rotor in TWUSM, the contact lengths at given conditions are calculated and compared with the experimental results.  相似文献

应用光子晶体光纤(PCF)的全矢量模型,根据对称性分析,按照最小波导扇面及相应的边界条件,将PCF中的模式进行了分类,并将PCF中的模式类比阶跃光纤来命名. 分析表明,PCF中的模式或者为非简并的,此时能够反映波导结构对称性;或者为简并对,必须二者组合才反映波导结构的对称性. 当简并对中的两个模式都具有与PCF波导结构相同的对称性时,简并将被击破而形成两个非简并模. 关键词: 光子晶体光纤 模式 简并  相似文献

Generally a stator of traveling wave ultrasonic motor (TWUM) consists of piezoelectric transducers (annular plate or rods) coupled by the way of a metallic ring. These transducers divided into halves are excited independently by two electrical signals with different phases of about 90 degrees. So an elastic traveling wave propagates along the circumference of the ring and a rotor pressed on this vibrating surface is then driven by the stator via contact forces. Many difficulties appear in developing TWUM because the contact between the stator and the rotor via a frictional material is very important. However that may be, the first stage consists in obtaining a vibrating stator with optimum characteristics with two symmetrical phases. The aim of this paper is to discuss some coupling effects in a free stator through an enhanced equivalent circuit model. A simple experimental method based on impedance measurements is performed to estimate the coupling characteristics at a low driving voltage. This paper reports results obtained with the free stator of the well known piezoelectric ultrasonic motor "USR60" by Shinsei Co. Ltd. Since the stator behaves as an elastic body, interactions between the two electrical inputs might be described by the introduction of a coupling oscillator. The comparison of experimental and theoretical results leads to validate the new equivalent circuit of the free stator. The presence of coupling impedance could imply a change of electrical supply condition to optimize the TWUM efficiency. The effects of unbalanced features for each electrical input and the applicability of the proposed model to actual operating condition are discussed in the paper.  相似文献

Normal bending waves propagating along a symmetric groove in an infinite elastic plate are considered. The characteristic equations in wave numbers of these modes are obtained for symmetric and antisymmetric modes of vibration. Critical frequencies and eigenfunctions of the problem are determined. Results of numerical calculations for the wave numbers, critical frequencies, and modes of vibration are presented.  相似文献

New families of three-dimensional nonlinear traveling waves are discovered in pipe flow. In contrast with known waves [H. Faisst and B. Eckhardt, Phys. Rev. Lett. 91, 224502 (2003); H. Wedin and R. R. Kerswell, J. Fluid Mech. 508, 333 (2004), they possess no discrete rotational symmetry and exist at a significantly lower Reynolds numbers (Re). First to appear is a mirror-symmetric traveling wave which is born in a saddle node bifurcation at Re=773. As Re increases, "asymmetric" modes arise through a symmetry-breaking bifurcation. These look to be a minimal coherent unit consisting of one slow streak sandwiched between two fast streaks located preferentially to one side of the pipe. Helical and nonhelical rotating waves are also found, emphasizing the richness of phase space even at these very low Reynolds numbers.  相似文献

This paper presents a simple and general variational approach for the study of the free vibration behaviour of polygonal isotropic plates with variable thickness. The Reissner-Mindlin plate theory is used to take into account the effects of shear deformation and rotary inertia in the analysis. Moreover, this theory allows obtaining greater accuracy of frequency coefficients corresponding to vibration higher modes, even for the thin plates.The governing eigenvalue equation is obtained employing the Ritz method. The plate geometry is approximated by using non-orthogonal triangular co-ordinates, while sets of independent polynomials, expressed in these co-ordinates, are employed to approximate the displacement and rotation fields. The developed algorithm allows obtaining approximated analytical solutions for plates with different aspect ratios, thickness variation and boundary conditions, including edges elastically restrained by both translational and rotational springs. Therefore, a unified program has been easily implemented. Convergence and comparison analyzes are carried out to verify the reliability and accuracy of the numerical solutions. Finally, sets of parametric studies are performed and the results are given in graphical and tabular form.  相似文献

A new visco-elastic contact model of traveling wave ultrasonic motor (TWUSM) is proposed. In this model, the rotor is assumed to be rigid body and the friction material on stator teeth surface to be visco-elastic body. Both load characteristics of TWUSM, such as rotation speed, torque and efficiency, and effects of interface parameters between stator and rotor on output characteristic of TWUSM can be calculated and simulated numerically by using MATLAB method based on this model. This model is compared with that one of compliant slider and rigid stator. The results show that this model can obtain bigger stall torque. The simulated results are compared with test results, and found that their load characteristics have good agreement.  相似文献

It was shown that traveling waves may coexist with standing waves in a planar infinitely long channel filled by ideal liquid with a free surface. The standing waves are localized near a dynamic inclusion—a massive die on an elastic base. The amplitude of the traveling waves may be turned to zero by appropriately selecting the vibration frequency of the die. The standing waves arise because the vibration eigenfrequencies have a mixed spectrum; that is, the discrete and continuous spectra superpose. Nonlinear effects were observed for the first time when standing waves form in shallow water. In particular, a relationship between the die weight necessary to excite trapped modes, die dimensions, and vibration frequency was derived. It was shown that the nonlinear effects cause double-frequency traveling waves with amplitudes of the next order of smallness. These traveling waves vanish if the die geometry is properly chosen, as for the waves of the zeroth order.  相似文献

This work investigates the three-dimensional nonlinear vibration of gear pairs where the nonlinearity is due to portions of gear teeth contact lines losing contact (partial contact loss). The gear contact model tracks partial contact loss using a discretized stiffness network. The nonlinear dynamic response is obtained using the discretized stiffness network, but it is interpreted and discussed with reference to a lumped-parameter gear mesh model named the equivalent stiffness representation. It consists of a translational stiffness acting at a changing center of stiffness location (two parameters) and a twist stiffness. These four parameters, calculated from the dynamic response, change as the gears vibrate, and tracking their behavior as a post-processing tool illuminates the nonlinear gear response. There is a gear mesh twist mode where the twist stiffness is active in addition to the well-known mesh deflection mode where the translational stiffness is active. The twist mode is excited by periodic back and forth axial movement of the center of stiffness in helical gears. The same effect can occur in wide facewidth spur gears if tooth lead modifications or other factors such as shaft and bearing deflections disrupt symmetry about the axial centers of the mating teeth. Resonances of both modes are shown to be nonlinear due to partial and total contact loss. Comparing the numerical results with gear vibration experiments from the literature verifies the model and confirms partial contact loss nonlinearity in experiments.  相似文献

The out-of-plane vibrations of a generalized thermoelastic circular plate are studied under different environmental temperature, plate dimensions and boundary conditions. The analytical expressions for thermoelastic damping of vibration and phase velocity of circumferential surface wave modes are obtained. It is noticed that the damping of vibrations and phase velocities of circumferential surface wave modes significantly depend on thermal relaxation time in addition to thermoelastic coupling in circular plates under resonance conditions. The surface conditions also impose significant effects on the vibrations of such resonators. The expressions for displacement and temperature fields in the plate resonator are also derived and obtained. Some numerical results have also been presented for illustration purpose in case of silicon material plate.  相似文献

The natural frequencies and modes of transverse vibration of circular plates containing small imperfections are determined through a perturbation method. Incision of equally spaced, equal-size radial slots at the rim of the plate creates asymmetry in some, but not all, of the vibration modes, and it causes the repeated natural frequencies of these modes in the symmetric plate to split into two distinct values. These vibration modes are called the split modes, and those associated with the repeated natural frequencies are called the repeated modes. A relationship identifying the split and repeated modes for any configuration of slots is presented. The vibration of a plate containing any number of thin slots cut into it at the rim and with any number of rotating linear springs is analyzed. Parametric instability can be excited in the split modes of the plate by the springs rotating below critical speed, but it cannot be excited in the repeated modes. The response of the plate in forms such as traveling or standing waves at parametric resonance is discussed. The theoretical predictions of split and repeated vibration modes and of the excitation of parametric instability are confirmed by experiments.  相似文献

Analytical and closed form solutions are presented in this paper for the vibration response of an L-shaped plate under a point force or a moment excitation. Inter-relationships between wave components of the source and the receiving plates are clearly defined. Explicit expressions are given for the quadratic quantities such as input power, energy flow and kinetic energy distributions of the L-shaped plate. Applications of statistical energy analysis (SEA) formulation in the prediction of the vibration response of finite coupled plate structures under a single deterministic forcing are examined and quantified. It is found that the SEA method can be employed to predict the frequency averaged vibration response and energy flow of coupled plate structures under a deterministic force or moment excitation when the structural system satisfies the following conditions: (1) the coupling loss factors of the coupled subsystems are known; (2) the source location is more than a quarter of the plate bending wavelength away from the source plate edges in the point force excitation case, or is more than a quarter wavelength away from the pair of source plate edges perpendicular to the moment axis in the moment excitation case due to the directional characteristic of moment excitations. SEA overestimates the response of the L-shaped plate when the source location is less than a quarter bending wavelength away from the respective plate edges owing to wave coherence effect at the plate boundary.  相似文献

This work investigates composite plates and their ability to direct flexural intensity, which has important implications for noise and vibration control. It is well known that a composite plate supports a flexural wave whose wavenumber depends strongly on its angle of propagation. This suggests that a composite plate will direct more flexural intensity in some directions than others. The present work considers a thin multi-layered plate in which each layer is constructed from an orthotropic material and has a chosen orientation relative to the other layers. Such an approach may be used to design highly directive structures. An analysis is presented in which a two-dimensional Fourier transform is analytically applied to the equation of motion, yielding algebraic expressions for displacements and stress resultants. Next, a two-dimensional discrete inverse Fourier transform is applied to compute displacements and stress resultants at discrete locations. Flexural intensity is computed at these locations.  相似文献

Importance of elastic deformation control to obtain large output force with a surface acoustic wave (SAW) motor is discussed in this paper. By adding pre-load to slider, stator and slider surfaces are deformed in a few tens nanometer. Appropriate deformation in normal direction against normal vibration displacement amplitude of SAW existed. By moderate deformation, the output force of the SAW motor was enlarged up to about 10 N and no-load speed was 0.7 m/s. To produce this performance, the transducer weight and slider size were only 4.2 g and 4 x 4 mm(2).By traveling wave propagation, surface particles of the SAW device move in elliptical motion. Due to the amplitude of the elliptical motion is 10 or 20 nm order, the contact condition of the slider is very critical. To control the contact condition, namely, the elastic deformation of the slider and stator surface in nanometer order, a lot of projections were fabricated on the slider surface. The projection diameter was 20 micro m. In static condition, the elastic deformation and stress were evaluated with the FEM analysis. From this calculation and the simulation result, it is consider that the wave crest is distorted, hence the elasticity has influence on the friction drive condition.Elastic deformation of the stator surface beneath the projection from the initial position were evaluated. In 4 x 4 mm(2) square area, the sliders had from 1089 to 23,409 projections. Depression was independent to the contact pressure. However, the output force depended on the depression although the projection density were different. From the view point of the output power of the motor, the proper depression was independent to the projection density. Around 25 nm depression, the output force and output power were maximized. This depression value was almost same as the vibration displacement amplitude of the stator transducer.  相似文献
