This paper describes a highly sensitive, selective catalytic-kinetic-spectrophotometric method for the determination of copper(II) concentration as low as 6 ng ml−1. The method is based on the catalytic effect of copper(II) on the oxidation of citric acid by alkaline hexacyanoferrate(III). The reaction was followed by measuring the decrease in absorbance of hexacyanoferrate(III) at 420 nm (λmax of [Fe(CN)6]3−,  = 1020 dm3 mol−1 cm−1). The dependence of rate of the indicator reaction on the reaction variables has been studied and discussed to propose a suitable mechanism to get a relation between the reaction rate and [Cu2+]. A fixed time procedure has been used to obtain a linear calibration curve between the initial rate and lower [Cu2+] or log[Cu2+] in the range 1 × 10−7 to 4 × 10−4 mol l−1 (6.35-25,400 ng ml−1). The detection limit has been calculated to be 4 ng ml−1. The maximum average error is 3.5%. The effect of the presence of various cations, commonly associated with copper(II) and some anions has also been investigated and discussed. The proposed method is sensitive, accurate, rapid and inexpensive compared to other techniques available for determination of copper(II) in such a large range of concentration. The new method has been successfully applied for the determination of copper(II) in various samples.  相似文献

A microorganism Agrobacterium tumefacients as an immobilized cell on a solid support was presented as a new biosorbent for the enrichment of Fe(III), Co(II), Mn(II) and Cr(III) prior to flame atomic absorption spectrometric analysis. Amberlite XAD-4 was used as a support material for column preconcentration. Various parameters such as pH, amount of adsorbent, eluent type and volume, flow rate of sample solution, volume of sample solution and matrix interference effect on the retention of the metal ions have been studied. The optimum pH for the sorption of above mentioned metal ions were about 6, 8, 8 and 6, respectively. The loading capacity of adsorbent for Co(II) and Mn(II) were found to be 29 and 22 μmol g−1, respectively. The recoveries of Fe(III), Co(II), Mn(II) and Cr(III), under the optimum conditions were found to be 99 ± 3, 99 ± 2, 98 ± 3 and 98 ± 3%, respectively, at the 95% confidence level. The limit of detection was 3.6, 3.0, 2.8 and 3.6 ng ml−1 for Fe(III), Co(II), Mn(II) and Cr (III), respectively, by applying a preconcentration factor of 25. The proposed enrichment method was applied for metal ion determination from water samples, alloy samples, infant foods and certified samples such as whey powder (IAEA-155) and aluminum alloy (NBS SRM 85b). The analytes were determined with a relative error lower than 10% in all samples.  相似文献

An off-line extraction chromatographic technique has been developed using Amberlite XAD-16 (AXAD-16)-N,N-dihexylcarbamoylmethyl phosphonic acid, as the stationary phase for the extraction of uranium, thorium and lanthanum from nuclear spent fuels as well as from geological and natural water resources. The chemical modifications of the polymeric matrix were monitored using FT-IR spectroscopy, CHNPS elemental analysis and also by thermo gravimetric analysis for water regain measurements. Various physio-chemical parameters influencing the quantitative metal ion extraction by the resin phase were optimized by both static and dynamic methods. The developed resin matrix showed good distribution ratio values under wide concentrations of acidity and pH conditions. Moreover, the sequential separation of analytes is also possible at sample pH 6.5. Also, the polymeric matrix showed superior metal sorption capacities and rapid metal exchange kinetics with a high sample flow rate value of 26 cm3 min−1 for all the three analytes. Thus, reducing the time of analyte extraction from large number of samples anticipated in nuclear waste management programs. The quantitative metal ion recovery of >99.8% was effected with 0.5 M (NH4)2CO3 solution. The method was highly sensitive with lower limits of detections to be 10, 20 and 15 ng cm−3 for U(VI), Th(IV) and La(III), respectively, with a better pre-concentration values of 333 for U(VI) and Th(IV) and 400 for La(III), respectively paving way for its applicability in pre-concentrating trace analytes from large sample volumes. The analytical data were within 4.2% R.S.D. reflecting the reproducibility and reliability of the developed method.  相似文献

The biosorption of copper(II), lead(II), iron(III) and cobalt(II) on Bacillus sphaericus-loaded Diaion SP-850 resin for preconcentration-separation of them have been investigated. The sorbed analytes on biosorbent were eluted by using 1 mol L−1 HCl and analytes were determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The influences of analytical parameters including amounts of pH, B. sphaericus, sample volume etc. on the quantitative recoveries of analytes were investigated. The effects of alkaline, earth alkaline ions and some metal ions on the retentions of the analytes on the biosorbent were also examined. Separation and preconcentration of Cu, Pb, Fe and Co ions from real samples was achieved quantitatively. The detection limits by 3 sigma for analyte ions were in the range of 0.20-0.75 μg L−1 for aqueous samples and in the range of 2.5-9.4 ng g−1 for solid samples. The validation of the procedure was performed by the analysis of the certified standard reference materials (NRCC-SLRS 4 Riverine Water, SRM 2711 Montana soil and GBW 07605 Tea). The presented method was applied to the determination of analyte ions in green tea, black tea, cultivated mushroom, boiled wheat, rice and soil samples with successfully results.  相似文献

Total metal concentrations were determined in the serum of 12 continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) patients and in fresh and spent CAPD fluids by electrothermal and flame atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS, FAAS). Concentrations of Cu in serum of CAPD patients ranged from 720 to 1780 ng cm−3, Rb from 128 to 346 ng cm−3, Al from 10 to 72 ng cm−3, Fe from 800 to 2300 ng cm−3 and Zn from 659 to 1310 ng cm−3. The accuracy of the analytical procedure was checked by the analysis of the reference material Seronom™, Trace Elements in Serum. Good agreement between the certified and determined values was obtained for Al, Cu, Fe and Zn. The data on the total metal concentrations in CAPD fluids indicated that during CAPD fluid exchange the losses of Cu from 5.0 to 35 ng cm−3, of Rb from 50 to 110 ng cm−3 and of Al from 3.0 to 14.0 ng cm−3 occurred through the peritoneal membrane. Although fresh CAPD fluids contained traces of Fe (3.0-5.0 ng cm−3), the transfer of this element took place through the peritoneal membrane into spent CAPD fluid (13.0-38.0 ng cm−3). Zn concentrations were in general lower in spent (20.0-80 ng cm−3) than in fresh CAPD fluids (∼100 ng cm−3). To follow the mechanisms of the transfer of trace elements through the peritoneal membrane of CAPD patients, fractionation of metals was carried out in spent CAPD fluids by size exclusion chromatography with UV and AAS detection, applying Superdex HR 10/30 column. The chromatographic run was followed at 278 nm and separated metal species also determined ‘off line’ in 1 cm3 fractions by ETAAS or FAAS. From the UV chromatograms and AAS analysis of trace elements in the separated fractions it was demonstrated that Cu, Al, Fe and Zn were bound to proteins and only partially to low molecular weight (LMW) species, while Rb was associated exclusively with LMW species. For characterisation of the high molecular weight (HMW) binding proteins, fractions containing trace elements were subjected to SDS-PAGE electrophoresis. Al and Fe were presumably bound to transferrin, but due to its low concentration in spent CAPD fluids, it was not possible to confirm its presence in the separated fractions. About 10% of Al and 15% of Fe corresponded to LMW species. A fraction of HMW proteins of Cu in spent CAPD fluids was most probably bound to albumin and Zn to albumin and globulins. About 50% of Cu and Zn existed in LMW proteins, while Zn was also found partially in ionic form.  相似文献

Titanomagnetite (Fe3−xTixO4) nanoparticles were synthesized by room temperature aqueous precipitation, in which Ti(IV) replaces Fe(III) and is charge compensated by conversion of Fe(III) to Fe(II) in the unit cell. A comprehensive suite of tools was used to probe composition, structure, and magnetic properties down to site-occupancy level, emphasizing distribution and accessibility of Fe(II) as a function of x. Synthesis of nanoparticles in the range 0 ? x ? 0.6 was attempted; Ti, total Fe and Fe(II) content were verified by chemical analysis. TEM indicated homogeneous spherical 9-12 nm particles. μ-XRD and Mössbauer spectroscopy on anoxic aqueous suspensions verified the inverse spinel structure and Ti(IV) incorporation in the unit cell up to x ? 0.38, based on Fe(II)/Fe(III) ratio deduced from the unit cell edge and Mössbauer spectra. Nanoparticles with a higher value of x possessed a minor amorphous secondary Fe(II)/Ti(IV) phase. XANES/EXAFS indicated Ti(IV) incorporation in the octahedral sublattice (B-site) and proportional increases in Fe(II)/Fe(III) ratio. XA/XMCD indicated that increases arise from increasing B-site Fe(II), and that these charge-balancing equivalents segregate to those B-sites near particle surfaces. Dissolution studies showed that this segregation persists after release of Fe(II) into solution, in amounts systematically proportional to x and thus the Fe(II)/Fe(III) ratio. A mechanistic reaction model was developed entailing mobile B-site Fe(II) supplying a highly interactive surface phase that undergoes interfacial electron transfer with oxidants in solution, sustained by outward Fe(II) migration from particle interiors and concurrent inward migration of charge-balancing cationic vacancies in a ratio of 3:1.  相似文献

A simple and sensitive method for using electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ET AAS) with Rh as permanent modifier determination of Sb(III) and total Sb after separation and preconcentration by N-benzoyl-N-phenylhydroxylamine (BPHA)-chloroform single drop has been developed. Parameters, such as pyrolysis and atomization temperature, solvent type, pH, BPHA concentration, extraction time, drop size, stirring rate and sample volume were investigated. Under the optimized experimental conditions, the detection limits (3σ) were 8.0 ng L−1 for Sb(III) and 9.2 ng L−1 for total Sb, respectively. The relative standard deviations (R.S.Ds.) were 6.6% for Sb(III) and 7.1% for total Sb (c = 0.2 ng mL−1, n = 7), respectively. The enrichment factor was 96. The developed method has been applied successfully to the determination of Sb(III) and total Sb in natural water samples.  相似文献

An “off-on” rhodamine-based fluorescence probe for the selective signaling of Fe(III) has been designed exploiting the guest-induced structure transform mechanism. This system shows a sharp Fe(III)-selective fluorescence enhancement response in 100% aqueous system under physiological pH value and possesses high selectivity against the background of environmentally and biologically relevant metal ions including Al(III), Cd(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Mg(II), Ba(II), Pb(II), Na(I), and K(I). Under optimum conditions, the fluorescence intensity enhancement of this system is linearly proportional to Fe(III) concentration from 6.0 × 10−8 to 7.2 × 10−6 mol L−1 with a detection limit of 1.4 × 10−8 mol L−1.  相似文献

A novel solid phase extraction technique for the speciation of trace dissolved Fe(II) and Fe(III) in environmental water samples was developed by coupling micro-column packed with N-benzoyl-N-phenylhydroxylamine (BPHA) loaded on microcrystalline naphthalene to electrothermal vaporization inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry (ETV-ICP-OES). Various influencing factors on the separation and preconcentration of Fe(II) and Fe(III), such as the acidity of the aqueous solution, sample flow rate and volume, have been investigated systematically, and the optimized operation conditions were established. At pH 3.0 Fe(III) could be selectively retained by micro-column (20 mm × 1.4 mm, i.d.) packed with BPHA immobilized on microcrystalline naphthalene, and Fe(II) passed through the micro-column. Both Fe(II) and Fe(III) could be adsorbed by the micro-column at pH 6.5. Thus, the total Fe could be determined without the need for preoxidation of Fe(II) to Fe(III). The retained Fe(III) or the Fe(II) and Fe(III) was subsequently eluted by 0.1 ml of 1 mol l−1 HCl. The adsorption capacity of the solid phase adsorption material was found to be 45.0 mg g−1 for Fe(III) at pH 3.0 and 65.3 mg g−1 for Fe(II) at pH 6.5, respectively. The detection limit (3σ) of 0.053 μg l−1 was obtained with a practical enrichment factor of 156 at a sample volume of 17 ml. The relative standard deviations of 4.2% and 4.6% (CFe(III) = CFe(II) = 10 μg l−1, n = 7) for Fe(III) and total iron were found, respectively. The method was successfully applied to the determination of trace Fe(II) and Fe(III) in environmental water samples (East Lake water, local tap water and mineral water). In order to validate the method, the developed method was applied to the determination of total iron in certified materials of NIES NO.10-b rice flour and GBW07605 tea leaves, and the results obtained were in good agreement with the certified values.  相似文献

2-Thiophenecarboxaldhyde is chemically bonded to silica gel surface immobilized monoamine, ethylenediamine and diethylenetriamine by a simple Schiff’s base reaction to produce three new SP-extractors, phases (I-III). The selectivity properties of these phases toward Hg(II) uptake as well as eight other metal ions: Ca(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Pb(II) were extensively studied and evaluated as a function of pH of metal ion solution and equilibrium shaking time by the batch equilibrium technique. The data obtained clearly indicate that the new SP-extractors have the highest affinity for retention of Hg(II) ion. Their Hg(II) uptake in mmol g−1 and distribution coefficient as log Kd values are always higher than the uptake of any other metal ion along the range of pH used (pH 1.0-10.0). The uptake of Hg(II) using phase I was 2.0 mmol g−1 (log Kd 6.6) at pH 1.0 and 2.0. 1.8 mmol g−1 (log Kd 4.25), 1.6 mmol g−1 (log Kd 3.90) and 1.08 mmol g−1 (log Kd 3.37) at pH 3.0, 5.0 and 8.0, respectively. Selective separation of Hg(II) from the other eight coexisting metal ions under investigation was achieved successfully using phase I at pH 2.0 either under static or dynamic conditions. Hg(II) was completely retained while Ca(II), Co(II) and Cd(II) ions were not retained. Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Pb(II) and Fe(III) showed very low percentage retention values to be 0.74, 0.97, 3.5 and 6.3%, respectively. Moreover, the high recovery values (95.5 ± 0.5, 95.8 ± 0.5 and 99.0% ± 1.0) of percolating two liters of doubly distilled water, drinking tap water and Nile river water spiked with 5 ng/l of Hg(II) over 100 mg of phase I packed in a minicolumn and used as a thin layer enrichment bed demonstrate the accuracy and validity of the new SP-extractors for preconcentration of the ultratrace amount of spiked Hg(II) prior to the determination by borohydride generation atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) with no matrix interference. The detection limit (3σ) for Hg(II) based on enrichment factor 1000 was 4.75 pg/ml. The precision (R.S.D.) obtained for different amounts of mercury was in the range 0.52-1.01% (N = 3) at the 25-100 ng/l level.  相似文献

Silica gel-bound amines phase modified with p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde (p-DMABD) was prepared based on chemical immobilization technique. The product (SG-p-DMABD) was used as an adsorbent for the solid-phase extraction (SPE) Cr(III), Cu(II), Ni(II), Pb(II) and Zn(II) prior to their determination by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). The uptake behaviors of SG-p-DMABD for extracting these metal ions were studied using batch and column procedures. For the batch method, the optimum pH range for Cr(III) and Ni(II) extraction was ≥ 3, for Cu(II), Pb(II) and Zn(II) extraction it was ≥ 4. For simultaneous enrichment and determination of all the metals on the newly designed adsorbent, the pH value if 4.0 was selected. All the metal ions can be desorbed with 2.0 mL of 0.5 mol L− 1 of HCl. The results indicate that SG-p-DMABD has rapid adsorption kinetics using the batch method. The adsorption capacity for these metal ions is in the range of 0.40-1.15 mmol g− 1, with a high enrichment factor of 125. The presence of commonly coexisting ions does not affect the sorption capacities. The detection limits of the method were found to be 1.10, 0.69, 0.99, 1.10 and 6.50 μg L− 1 for Cr(III), Cu(II), Ni(II), Pb(II) and Zn(II), respectively. The relative standard deviation (RSD) of the method under optimum conditions was 5.0% (n = 8) for all metal ions. The method was applied to the preconcentration of Cr(III), Cu(II), Ni(II), Pb(II) and Zn(II) from the certified reference material (GBW 08301, river sediment) and water samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

Water-soluble l-cysteine-capped-CdS nanoparticles were prepared in aqueous solution at room temperature through a straightforward one-pot process by using safe and low-cost inorganic salts as precursors, and characterized by transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction spectrometry, Fourier transform infrared spectrometry, spectrofluorometry and ultraviolet-visible spectrometry. The prepared l-cysteine-capped-CdS nanoparticles were evaluated as fluorescence probe for Hg(II) detection. The fluorescence quenching of the l-cysteine-capped-CdS nanoparticles depended on the concentration and pH of Hg(II) solution. Maximum fluorescence quenching was observed at pH 7.4 with the excitation and emission wavelengths of 360 nm and 495 nm, respectively. Quenching of its fluorescence due to Hg(II) at the 20 nmol l−1level was unaffected by the presence of 5 × 106-fold excesses of Na(I) and K(I), 5 × 105-fold excesses of Mg(II), 5 × 104-fold excesses of Ca(II), 500-fold excesses of Al(III), 91-fold excesses of Mn(II), 23.5-fold excesses of Pb(II), 25-fold excesses of Fe(III), 25-fold excesses of Ag(I), 8.5-fold excesses of Ni(II) and 5-fold excesses of Cu(II). Under optimal conditions, the quenched fluorescence intensity increased linearly with the concentration of Hg(II) ranging from 16 nmol l−1 to 112 nmol l−1. The limit of detection for Hg(II) was 2.4 nmol l−1. The developed method was applied to the detection of trace Hg(II) in aqueous solutions.  相似文献

A simple and precise square-wave adsorptive cathodic stripping voltammetry (SW-AdCSV) method has been described for simultaneous determination of Mn(II), Cu(II) and Fe(III) in water samples using a carbon paste electrode. In 0.1 mol L−1 acetate buffer (pH 5) containing 50 μmol L−1 of 2-(5′-bromo-2′-pyridylazo)-5-diethylaminophenol (5-Br-PADAP), Mn(II), Cu(II) and Fe(III) were simultaneously determined as metal-complexes with 5-Br-PADAP following preconcentration onto the carbon paste electrode by adsorptive accumulation at +1.0 V (vs. Ag/AgCl/3 M KCl). Insignificant interference from various cations (K+, Na+, Mg2+, Ca2+, Al3+, Bi3+, Sb3+, Se4+, Zn2+, Ni2+, Co2+, Cd2+, Pb2+, V5+, Ti4+ and NH4+), anions (HCO3, Cl, NO3−, SO42− and PO43−) and ascorbic acid was noticed. Limits of detection of 0.066, 0.108 and 0.093 μg L−1 and limits of quantitation of 0.22, 0.36 and 0.31 μg L−1 Mn(II), Cu(II) and Fe(III), respectively, were achieved by the described method. The described stripping voltammetry method was successfully applied for simultaneous determination of Mn(II), Cu(II) and Fe(III) in ground, tap and bottled natural water samples.  相似文献

A new functional monomer N-(o-carboxyphenyl)maleamic acid (CPMA) was synthesized and chosen for the preparation of surface-grafted ion-imprinted polymers (IIPs) specific for thorium(IV). Polymerizable double bond was introduced to silica gel surface by amidation reaction between -NH2 and maleic anhydride. In the ion-imprinting process, thorium(IV) was complexed with the carboxyl groups, then was imprinted in the polymers grafted to the silica gel surface. The imprinted Th(IV) was removed with 3 mol L−1 HCl. The obtained imprinted particles exhibited excellent selectivity and rapid kinetics process for Th(IV). The relatively selective factor (αr) values of Th(IV)/La(III), Th(IV)/Ce(III), Th(IV)/Nd(III), Th(IV)/U(VI), and Th(IV)/Zr(IV) were 85.7, 88.9, 26.6, 64.4, and 433.8, respectively, which were greater than 1. The precision (R.S.D.), the detection limit (3σ), and the quantification limit (10σ) of the method were 1.9%, 0.51 ng mL−1 and 1.19 ng mL−1, respectively. The prepared IIPs as solid-phase extractants were successfully applied for the preconcentration of trace thorium in natural and certified samples prior to its determination by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) with satisfactory results.  相似文献

Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) was simply immobilized to neutral alumina via quite strong hydrogen bonding between sulfoxide oxygen and surface alumina hydroxo groups. The produced alumina-modified dimethyl sulfoxide (AMDMSO) solid phase (SP)-extractor experienced high thermal and medium stability. Moreover, the small and compact size of DMSO moiety permit high surface coverage evaluated to be 2.1 ± 0.1 mmol g−1 of alumina. Hg(II) uptake was 1.90 mmol g−1(distribution coefficient log Kd = 5.658) at pH 1.0 or 2.0, 1.68 mmol g−1 (log Kd = 4.067) at pH 3.0 or 4.0 while the metal ions Ca(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Pb(II) showed low values 0.513-0.118 mmol g−1 (log Kd < 3.0) in the pH range 4.0-7.0. A mechanism was suggested to explain the unique uptake of Hg(II) ions by binding as neutral and chloroanionic species predominate at pH values ≤ 3.0 of a medium rich in chloride ions. A direct and fast batch separation mode was achieved successfully to retain selectively Hg(II) in presence of other eight coexisting metal ions. Thus, Hg(II) was completely retained; Ca(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cd(II) were not retained, while Pb(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Fe(III) exhibited very low percentage retention evaluated to be 0.42, 0.49, 1.4 and 5.43%, respectively. The utility of the new modified alumina sorbent for concentrating of ultratrace amounts of Hg(II) was performed by percolating 2 l of doubly distilled water, drinking tap water, and Nile river water spiked with 10 ng/l over 100 mg of the sorbent packed in a minicolumn used as a thin layer enrichment bed prior to the determination by CV-AAS. The high recovery values obtained (98.5 ± 0.5, 98.5 ± 0.5 and 103.0 ± 1.0) based on excellent enrichment factor 1000, along with a good precision (R.S.D.% 0.51-0.97%, N = 3) demonstrate the accuracy and validity of the new modified alumina sorbent for preconcentrating ultratrace amounts of Hg(II) with no matrix interference.  相似文献

A novel method that utilizes 1-(2-formamidoethyl)-3-phenylurea-modified activated carbon (AC-1-(2-formamidoethyl)-3-phenylurea) as a solid-phase extractant has been developed for simultaneous preconcentration of trace Cr(III), Cu(II), Fe(III) and Pb(II) prior to the measurement by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). Experimental conditions for effective adsorption of trace levels of Cr(III), Cu(II), Fe(III) and Pb(II) were optimized using batch and column procedures in detail. The optimum pH value for the separation of metal ions simultaneously on the new sorbent was 4. And the adsorbed metal ions could be completely eluted by using 2.0 mL 2.0 mol L−1 HCl solution. Common coexisting ions did not interfere with the separation and determination of target metal ions. The maximum static adsorption capacity of the sorbent at optimum conditions was found to be 39.8, 39.9, 77.8 and 17.3 mg g−1 for Cr(III), Cu(II), Fe(III) and Pb(II), respectively. The detection limits of the method were found to be 0.15, 0.41, 0.27 and 0.36 ng mL−1 for Cr(III), Cu(II), Fe(III) and Pb(II), respectively. The relative standard deviation (RSD) of the method was lower than 4.0% (n = 8). The method was successfully applied for the preconcentration of trace Cr(III), Cu(II), Fe(III) and Pb(II) in natural and certified samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

The sorptive potential of sunflower stem (180-300 μm) for Cr(III) ions has been investigated in detail. The maximum sorption (≥85%) of Cr(III) ions (70.2 μM) has been accomplished using 30 mg of high density sunflower stem in 10 min from 0.001 M nitric and 0.0001 M hydrochloric acid solutions. The accumulation of Cr(III) ions on the sorbent follows Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R), Freundlich and Langmuir isotherms. The isotherm yields D-R saturation capacity Xm = 1.60 ± 0.23 mmol g−1, β = −0.00654 ± 0.00017 kJ2 mol−2, mean free energy E = 8.74 ± 0.12 kJ mol−1, Freundlich sorption capacity KF = 0.24 ± 0.11 mol g−1, 1/n = 0.90 ± 0.04 and of Langmuir constant KL = 6800 ± 600 dm3 mol−1 and Cm = 120 ± 18 μmol g−1. The variation of sorption with temperature (283-323 K) gives ΔH = −23.3 ± 0.8 kJ mol−1, ΔS = −64.0 ± 2.7 J mol−1 K−1 and ΔG298k = −4.04 ± 0.09 kJ mol−1. The negative enthalpy and free energy envisage exothermic and spontaneous nature of sorption, respectively. Bisulphate, Fe(III), molybdate, citrate, Fe(II), Y(III) suppress the sorption significantly. The selectivity studies indicate that Cr(III), Eu(III) and Tb(III) ions can be separated from Tc(VII) and I(I). Sunflower stem can be used for the preconcentration and removal of Cr(III) ions from aqueous medium. This cheaper and novel sorbent has potential applications in analytical and environmental chemistry, in water decontamination, industrial waste treatment and in pollution abatement. A possible mechanism of biosorption of Cr(III) ions onto the sunflower stem has been proposed.  相似文献

Spectrophotometric determination of titanium(IV) was accomplished with o-carboxyphenylfluorone (OCPF) in the presence of hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium chloride (HTAC) under strongly acidic media. In the determination of titanium(IV), Beer's law was obeyed in the range of 24-340 ng mL−1 with an effective molar absorption coefficient (at 530 nm) and relative standard deviation of 2.24 × 105 dm3 mol−1 cm−1 and 0.64% (n = 8), respectively. The severe interference of iron ions was easily eliminated by the addition of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA); the effects of other foreign substances were low. Equilibrium and kinetic studies under analytical conditions were investigated to quantitatively evaluate the reaction mechanism. The obtained orange complex is considered to be Ti(OCPF)4. Its stability log Kf and rate constant Kobs are 16.88 and 1.65 × 10−2 s−1, respectively. It is suggested that the color of the complex is related to the species of OCPF in the solution.  相似文献

A backscattering light (BSL) detection assembly is constructed and applied to the determination of nucleic acids with high sensitivity and selectivity based on the measurements of BSL signals at water/tetrachloromethane (H2O/CCl4) interface. In aqueous medium of pH 3, the binary complex of of Al(III)-DNAs could be formed by the interaction of Al(III) with the phosphate group of DNAs, which then could interact with tetraphenylporphyrin (TPP) in tetrachloromethane through liquid/liquid interaction, forming a ternary complex of TPP-Al(III)-DNAs at the interface. It was observed that greatly enhanced BSL signals occurred with maximum peak at 469 nm when the ternary complex of TPP-Al(III)-DNAs were absorbed to the liquid/liquid interface. The enhanced backscattering light intensity (IBSL) is in proportion to the concentration of calf thymus DNA (ctDNA) and fish sperm DNA (fsDNA) in the range of 0.6-1200 ng ml−1 and 1.1-1200 ng ml−1, respectively. The limits of determination (3σ) are 60 pg ml−1 and 110 pg ml−1, correspondingly. Artificial samples with highly interference backgrounds were determined with the recovery ranging from 94.5 to 106.7%, and relative standard deviation (R.S.D.) less than 2.40%.  相似文献

The analytical determination of Hg(II), Cu(II), Cd(II), As(III), Sb(III), Ti(IV) and U(VI) in the presence of Fe(III) and 1 M H2SO4 are investigated using the polarographic technique. The wave corresponding to the reduction of Fe(III) to Fe(II) was found to be completely suppressed by the addition of 1% pyrogallol. Thus, different mixtures of these elements, viz. Hg(II), Cu(II), Cd(II), As(III) and Fe(III)-mixture (A), Cu(II), Cd(II), Sb(III), As(III) and Fe(III)-mixture (B), and Cu(II), Cd(II), Ti(IV), U(VI) and Fe(III)-mixture (C), were quantitatively determined using 1% pyrogallol and 1 M H2SO4 as supporting electrolyte. The i1/c results give excellent correlations in each case, as indicated from the results of leastsquares regression analysis.  相似文献
