The extraction of bioactive compounds from sunflowers (Helianthus annuus L.) with supercritical carbon dioxide has been studied. The samples were treated in four different ways and the effects of two factors (pressure and temperature) were investigated at 100, 500 bar and 35, 50 °C. The best yields were obtained using a high temperature and a high pressure (50 °C and 500 bar). The dry samples produced better extraction yields than the moist samples. The bioactivities of the extracts were compared for the samples treated in different ways. The best activity profiles were obtained for the moist samples extracted at 35 °C and 500 bar. 相似文献

Supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) of the volatile oil from Santolina chamaecyparissus L. flower heads was performed under different conditions of pressure, temperature, mean particle size and CO2 flow rate. This oil was compared with the essential oil isolated by hydrodistillation (HD). The SFE volatile and essential oils were analysed by GC and GC‐MS. The range of the main volatile components obtained with HD and SFE were, respectively: 1,8‐cineole (25–30% and 7–48%), camphor (7–9% and 8–14%), borneol (7–8% and 2–11%), terpinen‐4‐ol (6–7% and 1–4%), terpinolene (1–4% and 1–7%) and isobornyl acetate (1–2% and 1–11%). The chemical composition of the extracts was greatly influenced by the conditions of pressure and temperature used. In fact, it was possible to enrich the sesquiterpene fraction by increasing the pressure from 8 to 9 MPa, while changing the temperature from 40 to 50°C at 90 bar enriched of the volatiles in n‐alkanes. 相似文献

The present investigation aimed to evaluate the activity of the essential oil of Mentha arvensis L. on exogenously induced bronchoconstriction in experimental animals. The anti-asthmatic effect of M. arvensis essential oil (MAEO) was studied using histamine aerosol-induced bronchoconstriction in guinea pigs and ovalbumin (OVA) sensitised albino mice. Treatment with M. arvensis oil significantly (p < 0.001) increased the time of preconvulsive dyspnoea in histamine-induced guinea pigs. Oral treatment of MAEO significantly (p < 0.001) decreased absolute eosinophil count, serum level of IgE and the number of eosinophils, neutrophils in BALF. Histopathological examination of lungs showed that essential oil rescinded bronchial asthma. The present investigation provides evidence that MAEO relaxes bronchial smooth muscles and suppressed immunological response to OVA. 相似文献

A comparative analysis of the reactions between sodium phenoxide and CO2 under the gaseous and supercritical conditions has demonstrated the preferential effect of supercritical conditions for promoting the reactivity of CO2. A significant increase in product yield was obtained in supercritical CO2 compared to reactions undertaken in gaseous CO2. 相似文献

Salidroside from the root of Rhodiola rosea L var. rosea was extracted by supercritical carbon dioxide with and without methanol as modifier. Three parameters, i.e. temperature, pressure and different concentrations of methanol were optimized. Salidroside determinations were carried out using high‐performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with UV‐Vis detector. An experimental design of response surface methodology (RSM) was used to map the effect of pressure (at 200, 300 and 400 bar), temperature (at 50, 60 and 70 °C) and percentage of methanol modifier (at 80, 90 and 100%) on the extraction yield of the active compound and to determine the optimal conditions for the extraction of salidroside from the root of plant. The results showed that supercritical carbon dioxide failed to extract salidroside from the plant material without a methanol as modifier. The yield obtained after 1.5 h extraction with the rate of modifier 0.4 mL/min and 300 bar, 70 °C, and 80 percent of methanol modifier condition was the highest (17.15 mg/g). The optimum conditions were 70 °C, 295.49 bar and 80 percent of methanol as modifier with the yield of 16.17 mg/g. In addition, the yield obtained with supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) was compared with the Soxhlet extraction, whose yield was 8.64 mg/g. 相似文献

Dry ice-originated supercritical and liquid carbon dioxide extraction of organic pollutants from environmental samples 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Packed in a high-pressure vessel and under calculated conditions, dry ice can be used as a source of carbon dioxide for supercritical CO2 extraction or liquid CO2 of organic compounds from environmental samples. Coupled with a fluid modifier such as toluene, dry ice-originated supercritical CO2 (Sc CO2) achieves quantitative extraction of many volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and semivolatile organic compounds (SOCs) including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), n-alkanes, and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) from solid matrices. Compared to contemporary manual or automated supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) technologies, this novel technique simplifies SFE to a minimum requirement by eliminating the need of a high-pressure pump and any electrical peripherals associated with it. This technique is highly suitable to analytical areas where sample preservation is essential but difficult in the sampling field, or where sample collection, sample preparation, and analysis are to be done in the field. 相似文献

A simple and enantioselective method for the determination of menthone enantiomers in peppermint essential oil samples is proposed. The method involves the initial supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) to clean-up and extraction of analytes and their preconcentration on C18 adsorption cartridges followed by achiral liquid chromatographic separation and direct circular dichroism (CD) detection. The calibration curve of the anisotropy factor (g) versus the enantiomeric excess was linear, with a correlation coefficient (R2) of 0.9970. The precision evaluated by UV peak area and CD peak area was suitable both in terms of intra- and inter-day precision (RSD < 5.1% in all cases). The usefulness of the proposed method was demonstrated by analyzing natural and spiked peppermint oil samples. This method has the advantages of being rapid and precise without using an expensive chiral column. It was demonstrated to be suitable for the simultaneous determination of both enantiomers and for assessing the chemical purity of menthone. 相似文献

Beauvericin (BEA), a supercritical fluid extraction with supercritical carbon dioxide from maize was investigated. Extraction efficiencies under several different extraction conditions were examined. Pressure, temperature, extraction time, organic modifier and water matrix content (10%) were investigated. The best extraction conditions were at a temperature of 60 °C, 3200 psi, for 30 min static extraction time and methanol as modifier solvent. Extraction recovery of 36% without modifier by adding water to the matrix in the extraction vessel (reproducibility relative standard deviations (R.S.D.)=3-5%) were recorded. Extraction recovery of 76.9% with methanol as co-solvent (reproducibility R.S.D.=3-5%) was obtained. Data shows that SFE gives a lower BEA recovery compared to conventional extraction protocol with organic solvents while SFE with modifier and conventional extraction yields are comparable. BEA extract contents were determined by high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) with a diode array detector (DAD) at 205 nm and BEA peak confirmed by LC-MS. Acetonitrile-water as mobile phase and column C-18 were both tested. Instrumental and analytical parameters were optimized in the range linear interval from 1 to 500 mg kg−1 and reached a detection limit of 2 ng. 相似文献

Supercritical carbon dioxide (Sc-CO2) thermal treatment to enhance performance of Nafion 212 (NR212) commercial membranes for direct methanol fuel cells (DMFCs) is described. It is shown that the microstructure of NR212 membranes is re-organized after the Sc-CO2 treatment, and then the performance of NR212 membranes is improved. Specifically the thinner NR212 membranes after the Sc-CO2 treatments have higher proton conductivity and better capacity of barrier to methanol crossover compared with the thicker Nafion 117 membranes. It is demonstrated that the DMFC performance of the Sc-CO2 treated NR212 membranes is better than that of Nafion 117 membranes. 相似文献

Mentha is an aromatic plant used since antiquity for its pharmaceutical virtues. The climate of Saudi Arabia favors the growth of aromatic plants including Mentha suaveolens L. The aim of this study is to analyze the volatile oils of different parts of fresh and dried Mentha suaveolens L. grown in Saudi Arabia (Aljouf area) using Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS) and Gas Chromatography Flame Ionization Detector (GC/FID) techniques, to recognize the effect of drying on chemical composition, then to evaluate the antioxidant and antifungal activities of different extracts. In total, 118 compounds were identified via GC/MS and GC/FID, in which carvone is the main volatile constituent (stems, leaves, whole plant 45–64%). This investigation deduces that Mentha belonged to the carvone chemotype. Then, the analysis of non-volatile constituents of fresh and dried Mentha was performed by HPLC. The main phenolic compound of fresh and dried Mentha for different parts was rosmarinic acid (ranging from 28,002.5 to 6558 µg/g). The ethanolic extract of fresh stem showed the highest antifungal activity (53% inhibition) compared with miconazole (60% inhibition) but the ethanoic extract of dry stem showed no activity. Additionally, all ethanolic extracts, whether for fresh or dry Mentha, have antioxidant activity more than 90% while the antioxidant activity of whole plant volatile oil is equal to 53.33%. This research shows that M. suaveolens L. could be applied to manufacture natural antioxidants, antifungal, and flavoring agents. 相似文献

Summary In this work we present a new procedure for extraction of Atabron residues from cabbage samples using supercritical carbon dioxide. The results obtained with this procedure were compared with those obtained using traditional extraction methods for Atabron residues. The extraction yields found by both procedures are similar but SFE has several advantages, especially higher speed, greater economy, better selectivity and greater reproducibility. 相似文献

A novel method for analysis of essential oil in Cuminum cyminum L. using simultaneous ultrasonic nebulization extraction and headspace single drop microextraction (UNE-HS-SDME) followed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry was developed. Experimental parameters, including the kind of suspended solvent, microdrop volume, sample amount, extraction time, enrichment time and salt concentration were examined and optimized. Compared with hydrodistillation (HD), UNE-HS-SDME provides the advantages of a small amount of sample (50 mg), time-saving (20 min), simplicity, cheapness and low toxicity. In addition, UNE-HS-SDME also provided higher enrichment efficiency and sensitivity compared with stirring extraction (SE)-HS-SDME, ultrasonic assistant extraction (UAE) and UNE. Some constituents in the essential oil, were identified and the detection limits for β-pinene, p-cymene and γ-terpinene range from 6.67 pL L−1 to 14.8 pL L−1. The results indicated that the UNE-HS-SDME is simple and highly efficient extraction and enrichment technique. 相似文献

Supercritical carbon dioxide has been considered an appropriate alternative for extraction and purification process of cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food supplements and natural products. Solubility information of biological compounds is essential for choosing supercritical fluid (SCF) processes. The solubility of iodopropynyl butylcarbamate (IPBC), a fungicide and anti-dandruff agent, was measured in supercritical carbon dioxide with a high pressure apparatus equipped with a variable volume view cell at 313.15, 323.15, and 333.15 K and at pressure between 80 and 35 MPa. The experimental data were correlated well with Peng–Robinson equation of state (PR EOS) and quasi-chemical nonrandom lattice fluid model. 相似文献

Usnic acid (UA) was extracted from Usnea longissima (L.) Ach. in supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO2) medium. The selected process parameters were extraction temperature (35–45 °C), amount of co-solvent (0%–5%) and extraction time (5–9 h). These parameters were applied to Box-Behnken design (BBD) belonging to response surface methodology (RSM) to determine optimum process parameters for the highest amount of UA in the extract. g UA/100g lichen, extraction yield % and UA content values were calculated in the range of 0.045–0.317, 2.77–5.4 and 71%–82% in different experimental conditions, respectively. The optimum conditions were predicted as 42 °C, 4.3% (ethanol) and 7.48 h. It was determined that the predicted and experimental values of g UA/100g lichen were compatible, and the suggested model was valid. 相似文献

Summary Chromatographic methods for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of thyme (Thymus vulgaris L.) extracts (essential oil obtained by steam distillation and extracts obtained by carbon dioxide supercritical fluid extraction
and methylene chloride) are described. The composition of extracts obtained at different pressures (from 80 bar to 400 bar)
and constant temperature (40°C) is discussed. The extraction system thyme— supercritical carbon dioxide was modelled by empirical
equations defining the dependence of the total extract (TE) solubility and thymol solubility in CO2 on the density of carbon dioxide. 相似文献

Extraction of oil from Dracocephalum kotschyi Boiss seeds using supercritical carbon dioxide was designed using central composite design to evaluate the effect of various operating parameters including pressure, temperature, particle size and extraction time on the oil yield. Maximum extraction yield predicted from response surface method was 71.53% under the process conditions with pressure of 220 bar, temperature of 35 °C, particle diameter of 0.61 mm and extraction time of 130 min. Furthermore, broken and intact cells model was utilised to consider mass transfer kinetics of extracted natural materials. The results revealed that the model had a good agreement with the experimental data. The oil samples obtained via supercritical and solvent extraction methods were analysed by gas chromatography. The most abundant acid was linolenic acid. The results analysis showed that there was no significant difference between the fatty acid contents of the oils obtained by the supercritical and solvent extraction techniques. 相似文献

The aim of the study was to investigate the micromorphology of Mentha pulegium leaves and flowers harvested in three different Sicilian (Italy) areas with peculiar pedo-climatic conditions, and to characterize the phytochemical profile, the phytotoxic activity, and the eco-compatibility of their essential oils (EOs) for potential use as safe bioherbicides. Light microscopy (LM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) highlighted that M. pulegium indumentum consists of non-glandular and glandular trichomes of different types. Peltate trichomes of plants from the different sites showed few significant differences in dimension and abundance, but they were characterized by a surprisingly high number of secretory cells both in leaves and flowers. Phytochemical analyses showed that oxygenated monoterpenes were the most abundant class in all the EOs investigated (92.2–97.7%), but two different chemotypes, pulegone/isomenthone and piperitone/isomenthone, were found. The complex of morphological and phytochemical data indicates that soil salinity strongly affects the expression of the toxic metabolite pulegone, rather than the EO yield. Phytotoxicity tests showed a moderate activity of EOs against the selected species as confirmed by α-amylase assay. Moreover, the low toxicity on brine shrimp provided a rationale for the possible use of investigated EOs as eco-friendly herbicides. 相似文献

In the present work, the new extraction process of Détente Instantanée Contrôlée DIC (French, for instant controlled pressure drop) was studied, developed, quantitatively and qualitatively compared to the conventional hydrodistillation method for the extraction of essential oils from Algerian myrtle leaves. DIC was used as a thermomechanical treatment, DIC subjecting the product to a high-pressure saturated steam. The DIC cycle ends with an abrupt pressure drop towards vacuum, and this instantly leads to an autovaporization of myrtle volatile compounds. An immediate condensation in the vacuum tank produced a micro-emulsion of water and essential oils. Thus, an ultra-rapid cooling of residual leaves occurred, precluding any thermal degradation. An experimental protocol was designed with 3 independent variables: saturated steam pressure between 0.1 and 0.6 MPa, resulting in a temperature between 100 and 160 °C, a total thermal processing time between 19 and 221 s, and between 2 and 6 DIC cycles. The essential oils yield was defined as the main dependent variable. This direct extraction gave high yields and high quality essential oil, as revealed by composition and antioxidant activity (results not shown). After this treatment, the myrtle leaves were recovered and hydrodistilled in order to quantify the essential oil content in residual DIC-treated samples. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) showed some modification of the structure with a slight destruction of cell walls after DIC treatment. 相似文献

Artemisinin is an effective antimalarial drug isolated from the herbal medicine Artemisia annua L. Supercritical fluid extraction is an environment-friendly method for the extraction of artemisinin. In this work, the solubility of artemisinin in supercritical carbon dioxide was determined by static method at three temperatures of 313 K, 323 K, 333 K and pressures from 11 to 31 MPa. The range of experimental solubility data was from 0.498 × 10−3 to 2.915 × 10−3 mol/mol under the above-mentioned conditions. Two density-based models (Chrastil and Mendez–Santiago–Teja models) were selected to correlate the experimental data of this work, and the average absolute relative deviation (AARD) was 8.32% and 8.33%, respectively. The correlation results showed good agreement with the experimental data. 相似文献
