We study the problem of asymptotic stability, as time tends to infinity, of solutions of dissipative wave systems, governed by time-dependent nonlinear damping forces and subject to the action of strongly nonlinear potential energies. In this paper consider a vibrating system of Bresse type in a one-dimensional bounded domain with a nonlinear damping acting in the equation of the shear angle displacement, and nonlinear localized damping in other equations. In this paper, by introducing a concept called the degree of species, we obtain a set of sufficient conditions for the ultimate boundedness of nonautonomous n-species Lotka-Volterra tree systems. As a consequence, we also obtain the criteria of the existence of a globally stable equilibrium point for the autonomous Lotka-Volterra tree system. The criteria in this paper are in explicit forms of the parameters, and thus, are easily verifiable.  相似文献

We study the question of asymptotic stability, as time tends to infinity, of solutions of dissipative anisotropic Kirchhoff systems, involving the p(x)-Laplacian operator, governed by time-dependent nonlinear damping forces and strongly nonlinear power-like variable potential energies. This problem had been considered earlier for potential energies which arise from restoring forces, whereas here we allow also the effect of amplifying forces. Global asymptotic stability can then no longer be expected, and should be replaced by local stability. The results are further extended to the more delicate problem involving higher order damping terms.  相似文献

Electrical networks containing lossless transmission lines are often modeled by difference-differential equations of neutral type. This paper finds sufficient conditions for asymptotic stability for linear systems of these equations. Also given is a modification of the direct method of Liapunov for difference equations. This method is applied to finding asymptotic stability criteria for the discrete analogs of the linear system of difference-differential equations.  相似文献

In this paper, the problem of finite-time stability of linear nonautonomous systems with time-varying delays is considered. Using a novel approach based on some techniques developed for linear positive systems, we derive new explicit conditions in terms of matrix inequalities ensuring that the state trajectories of the system do not exceed a certain threshold over a pre-specified finite time interval. These conditions are shown to be relaxed for the Lyapunov asymptotic stability. A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the obtained result.  相似文献

This paper studies the general nonautonomous single-species Kolmogorov systems with delays. The sufficient conditions on the persistence and permanence of species, global asymptotic stability and the existence of positive periodic solutions are established. In this paper, we study the global asymptotic stability of a class of nonautonomous integro-differential systems. By constructing suitable Lyapunov functionals, we establish new and explicit criteria for the global asymptotic stability in the sense of Definition 2.1. In the autonomous case, we discuss the global asymptotic stability of a unique equilibrium of the system, and in the case of periodic system, we establish sufficient criteria for existence, uniqueness and global asymptotic stability of a periodic solution. Also explored are applications of our main results to some biological and neural network models. The examples show that our criteria are more general and easily applicable, and improve and generalize some existing results.  相似文献
