The composition of the unsaturated and oxidized fatty acids and steroids of the lipids of the seeds ofPaliurus spina-christi has been determined. Among the unsaturated acids the 20:1 (11) was detected, while the 18:1 and 18:2 acids predominate. The oxidized acids are represented by the sum of the 9,10(12,13)-epoxy-12(9)-18:1, the 9,10-epoxy-18:0, the oxo-18:1, the oxo-18:2, the 12-hydroxy-9-18:1, and the 9-hydroxy-10,11-18:2 acids. The main component of the sterols is -sitosterol. It has been found that the composition of the acylglycerols of the lipids of the seeds ofP. spina-christi gathered in different years is variable.I. The capacity of ten metabolites isolated from the culture liquid and mycelium of the phytopathogenic fungusVerticillium dahliae Kleb. and identified by chemical and spectral methods or of known chemical nature for inducing the synthesis and accumulation of phytoalexins in the cotton plant has been investigated for the first time. It has been established that the maximum inducing capacity among the metabolites investigated in the concentrations tried is possessed by elaidic acid and di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate. A considerable amount of phytoalexins is also induced under the action on the cotton plant of PCL-1 and a substance of carbohydrate nature. In view of the inducing capacity of the lipid component the protein-lipoid-polysaccharide complex we have studied its total lipid and fatty acid compositions. It has been shown that the compositions of the classes of neutral lipids of the protein-lipoid-polysaccharide complex of the mycelium and the culture liquid do not differ fundamentally, while there are certain differences in the qualitative composition and quantitative amounts of fatty acids of the protein-lipoid-poly-saccharide complex and of the culture liquid, with the exception of the C16:0 and C18:0 acids, the amounts of which are approximately the same.V. The original lipid content of the thylakoid membranes of moss Marchantia polymorpha has been determined for the first time. In particular, the content of SQDG is almost 3 times higher than those for both of the other classes. The ratios for DGDG and MGDG are just a little bit lower than those for green algae, but almost 2 times less than those for plants. The distribution of unsaturated bonds has changed in C18 -residues of fatty acids. The total content of C18-residues in thylacoid lipids have been almost the same but the content of C18:1, C18:2 and C18:3 are altered in the fractions of DGDG, PG and PE. The light stress produces only the quantitative, but no qualitative, changes of the thylakoid lipid composition. The properties of the thylakoid lipids and corresponding fatty acids in the monolayers at the liquid/gas interfaces have been studied. The changes in distribution of unsaturated bonds in C18 residues of fatty acids at light stress have been confirmed by Langmuir method.  相似文献

The compositions of the neutral lipids, glycolipids, phospholipids and fatty acids of the brown algaeLaminaria japonica andLaminaria cichoriodes have been studied. It has been found that the glycolipids are the main lipid classes in these algae. Palmitic, oleic, and polyunsaturated acids with 18 and 20 carbon atoms form the group of main acids. The lipids of both species of theLaminaria genus have a complex composition but they differ by the ratios of their fatty acids.Institute of Marine Biology, Far-eastern Scientific Center, Russian Academy of Sciences, Vladivostok, fax (4232) 310900, e-mail: lipid@biom.marine.su. The composition and amounts of various classes of lipids of the seeds of Hibiscus sp. have been investigated. Seven classes of neutral lipids, five of phospholipids, and five of glycolipids have been identified and their fatty-acid and triglyceride compositions have been established. The presence has been shown of 16 main types of triacylglycerols and 25 types of epoxyacyldiacylglycerols. An epoxy-18.0 and an epoxy-18:1 acid in a combined amount of 1.4% have been detected among the acids of the free lipids, together with 8.1% of cyclopropenoid acids.Translated from Khimiya Prirodnykh Soedinenii, No. 1, pp. 40–44, January–February, 1995. The composition of free and bound lipids from seeds of Cortusa turkestanica A. Lozinsk (Primulaceae) was studied. The fatty acid composition of principal acyl-containing classes was established using GC/MS. It was found that triacylglycerines isolated from free and bound lipids contained the usual acids and rarely encountered polyunsaturated 18:3 ω-6 (γ-linolenic, 8.8 and 3.2%) and 18:4 ω-3 (stearidonic, 0.7 and 0.4%) acids and were enriched in linoleic acid (18:2, ω-6, 58.2 and 60.8%, respectively). It was found that polyunsaturated 18:3 ω-6 and 18:4 ω-3 acids were missing in the free form and were found among polar substances of bound lipids.  相似文献

The class composition and the total fatty acid composition of the readily- and difficulty-extractable lipids and the amino acid composition of a protein hydrolysate of the dry biomass from the golden-yellow microalgaMonochrysis lutheri have been determined for the first time. It has been established that the difficulty-extractable lipids differ sharply from the readily extractable lipids in the composition of the neutral and glycolipid components and also in that of the fatty acids; 27% of the weight of the fatty acids of the latter is composed of the 20:4 and 20:5 species. The protein hydrolysate ofM. lutheri contains almost the whole set of essential fatty acids.  相似文献

The composition of ethanolic (I) and gasoline (II) extracts of the cultivated microalgaChlorella vulgaris has been studied. With the aid of CC, TLC, qualitative reactions, GLC, and UVS the following classes of compounds have been detected in them. From the neutral lipids: hydrocarbons, carotenoids, traces of sterols and their esters, fatty acid esters, tri- and diacylglycerols, free fatty acids, and chlorophylls; and from the polar lipids: di- and monogalactosylglycerols, phosphatidylethanolamine, lecithin, phosphatidylinositol, phosphatidylserine, and three sphingosine bases. The polar lipids I and II made up 52.4 and 50.2% of the total, respectively. As compared with extract I, extract II was somewhat enriched with neutral lipids, including provitamins of the A group and vitamins of the F group. In the fatty acids of chlorella, 19 components were detected, the main ones being the 16:0 acid and 18:2 and 18:3 acids.Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances, Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR, Tashkent. The composition and lipid content of the lipoprotein complexes of cotton kernels (I), meal (II), and isolate (III) have been investigated. It has been shown that with the aid of an acidic alcohol-containing extractant it is possible to isolate up to 99% of the strongly bound lipids (SBLs) of their total mass. In the composition of the strongly bound lipids (I–III) have been found neutral lipids comparable with the free lipids of the kernel; of polar lipids, glycolipids were present. It was found that an acid extractant extracts polyphenolic compounds together with the SBLs.Institute of Chemistry of Plant Substances, Academy of Sciences of the Uzbek SSR, Tashkent. Organochlorine pesticides have been extensively used worldwide for agricultural purposes. Due to their resistance to metabolism, a major public health concern has been raised. Aberrant hepatic lipid composition has been a hallmark of many liver diseases associated with exposure to various toxins and chemicals. And thus lots of efforts have been focused on the development of analytical techniques that can rapidly and quantitatively determine the changes in fatty acid composition of hepatic lipids. In this work, changes in fatty acid composition of hepatic lipids in response to DDT (dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane) exposure were quantitatively analyzed by a gas chromatography-mass spectrometric approach based on stable isotope-coded transmethylation. It has been quantitatively demonstrated that polyunsaturated fatty acids including C20:3n3, C20:4n6, and C22:6n3 decrease in response to DDT exposure. However, saturated long chain fatty acids including C16:0, C18:0, as well as monounsaturated long chain fatty acid C18:1n9 consistently increase in a DDT-concentration-dependent manner. In particular, much higher changes in the level of hepatic C16:0 and C18:0 for male fish were observed than that for female fish. These experimental results are in accordance with qualitative histopathological analysis that revealed liver morphological alterations. The stable isotope-coded mass spectrometric approach provides a reliable means for investigating hepatotoxicity associated with fatty acid synthesis, desaturation, mitochondrial beta-oxidation, and lipid mobilization. It should be useful in elucidation of hepatotoxic mechanisms and safety assessment of environmental toxins.  相似文献

The lipids of the tuberous roots ofMandragora turcomanica Mizger (fam. Solanaceae) have been characterized for the first time. By using CC, TLC, Ag+-TLC, UV and IR spectroscopies and mass spectrometry, 20 classes of lipids and lipophilic substances have been characterized. The main components of the acyl-containing lipids that were isolated were found to be triacylglycerols and glycolipids, and among the lipophilic compounds they were alkanols and sterols; in the mixture of fatty acids of the acyl-containing lipids the 18:2, 18:1, and 16:0 acids predominated.  相似文献

The composition of lipids from the aerial parts of two species of halophytes from the family Chenopodiaceae, Halostachys caspica C. A. Mey. and Halocharis hispida Bge. was determined. Neutral lipids (NL, 62.1 and 54.2%, respectively) dominated the total lipids (TL) of these plants. More than a third of the NL were esters of aliphatic alcohols and phytosterols (FAE). Fatty acids 16:0, 18:1, and 18:2 dominated the acids of FAE; 16:0, 18:1, and 18:3, the phospholipids. The principal fatty acids of glycolipids were unsaturated acids (68.3 and 75.1%) with linolenic acid dominating (44.9 and 43.5%). The variation of the composition of neutral and polar lipids and lipophilic components during maturation of guelder rose (V. opulus L., fam. Caprifoliaceae) fruits was investigated. During fruit ripening, all lipid groups are accumulated, the highest accumulation rate being observed in the first period of maturation. In nonpolar lipids, this is due to a substantial increase in the content of triacylglycerides, whereas the contents of free fatty acids, methyl esters of fatty acids, monoacylglycerides, and especially esters of triterpenoid compounds decrease. During early maturation, all acyl-containing classes of lipids contain large amounts of saturated fatty acids (mainly, 16:0), whose content decreases during ripening, while the contents of unsaturated 18:1 and 18:2 acids increase.  相似文献
