The thermal behavior of montmorillonite and organically modified montmorillonite, both treated with heavy metal cations [Cu(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II)], was characterized via thermal analyses (TG, DTG and DTA) combined with evolved species gas mass spectrometry (MS-EGA), and X-ray diffraction at in situ controlled temperature (HTXRD). The reactions involving Cu(II)- and Cd(II)-montmorillonite samples are mostly related to H2O and OH loss, unlike Hg(II)-montmorillonite, where effects associated to Hg(II) loss are also present. Finally reactions related to dehydration, dehydroxylation and to organic matter decomposition can be observed in montmorillonite samples treated with cysteine.  相似文献

In the present work, thermal degradation behaviors of the Zn (II), Cd(II), and Hg(II) coordination polymers of fumaroyl bis (paramethoxyphenylcarbamide) (fbpmpc) have been investigated by using thermogravimetric (TG) analysis, differential thermal analysis (DTA) and derivative thermogravimetry (DTG) analysis under non-isothermal conditions in nitrogen atmosphere at multiple heating rates. TG–DTA study noteworthy inferred the presence of lattice water in outer sphere of all the polymers. The decomposition was carried out in three-four well-separated stages where involved the loss of water molecules in the first step followed by organic ligand. Furthermore, the kinetics and thermodynamic stabilities of multi-steps thermal degradation were evaluated. The activation energy (Ea), order of reaction (n), Arrhenius factor (A), enthalpy change (ΔH), entropy change (ΔS) and free energy change (ΔG) of coordination polymers were obtained by using the Coats–Redfern (CR) method. Ultimately, based on initial, half and final decomposition temperature, and kinetics parameters values the orders of thermal stability were estimated.  相似文献

New poly(azo) amino-chitosan compounds were obtained from the azo coupling reaction of N-benzyl chitosan and diazonium salts. The thermal behavior of these compounds was studied by thermogravimetric analysis (TG), differential thermogravimetric analysis (DTG), TG coupled with a Fourier-transform infrared, and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). TG/DTG curves of chitin–chitosan polymer showed two thermal events attributed to water loss and decomposition of the polysaccharide after cross-linking reactions. Thermal analysis of the poly(azo) amino-chitosan compounds showed that the decomposition temperatures decreased when compared to the starting chitin–chitosan and N-benzyl chitosan. DSC results showed an agreement with the TG/DTG analyses. Thermal behavior of poly(azo) amino-chitosans suggest that these compounds could be considered as potential thermal sensors.  相似文献

Thermal investigation of metal carboxylato complexes of the first transition metals, Mn(II), Fe(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) and non-transition metals like Zn(II) and Cd(II) in the solid state has been carried out under non-isothermal conditions in nitrogen atmosphere by simultaneous TG and DTA. TG and DTA curves inferred that the thermal stability of the complex decreased approximately with the increase of the standard potential of the central metal ion. The thermal parameters like activation energy, Ea, enthalpy change, ΔH, and entropy change, ΔS, corresponding to the dehydration and decomposition of the complexes are determined from TG and DTA curves by standard methods. A linear correlation is found between ΔH and ΔS and Ea and ΔS in dehydration and decomposition processes. DTA curves show an irreversible phase transition for Na2Mn(mal)2], Na2[Cu(mal)2] and Na2,[Co(suc)2] complexes. The residual products in these decomposition processes being a mixture of two oxides, of oxide and carbonate or a mixture of two carbonates.  相似文献

Mononuclear and polynuclear chelates of potassium picolinoyldithiocarbazate (KHPcDC) with Mn(II), Fe(ll1), Fe(II), Co(Il), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Hg(II), Pd(II) and U(VI)O2 have been prepared and characterized by chemical and thermal (TG, DTG, DTA) analyses, molar conductivities, spectral (UV-Visible, IR, NMR, ESR) and magnetic moment measurements. The molar conductivities of the complexes lie in the non-electrolyte range whilst KHPcDC is a 1:1 electrolyte. Changes in selected vibrational absorption of the ligand upon coordination indicate that KHPcDC behaves as monoanionic and coordinates in a bidentate, tridentate and/or bridging tetradentate manner. Trans-form structure is proposed for [Pd(HPcDC)2] x 2H20 and [Cd(HPcDC)2] complexes on the basis of NMR data. An octahedral structure is proposed for Fe(III), Fe(II) and Ni(II) complexes, a square-planar structure for Co(II) and Pd(II) complexes and a tetragonally distorted octahedral structure for the Cu(II) chelate on the basis of spectroscopic and magnetic data. The ligand field parameters (B, Dq, beta) for the Fe(III) and Ni(II) chelates were calculated. TG, DTG and DTA studies support the different modes of chelation of KHPcDC. The solid metal acetate chelates have a unique decomposition exotherm profile which can be used as a rapid and sensitive tool for the detection of acetate-containing complexes.  相似文献

Several complex salts of the general formula [M(II) (bipy)x(H2O)y]PbCl6 (where x=2–3, y=0–2 and M=Mn(II), Fe(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Hg(II)) were synthesized and investigated by DTA, TG and DTG. Some of the decomposition products were identified by IR spectroscopy and other methods. The compounds decompose with the liberation of water (in the case of hydrates), chlorine (sometimes causing chlorination of organic fragments), organic molecules (sometimes chlorinated) and sometimes hydrogen chloride. The residues comprise metal(II) chlorides and PbCl2. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

The thermal behaviour of Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Pd(II) complexes of uracil was studied by TG, DTG and DTA in a dynamic nitrogen atmosphere. Two processes occur in the isolated uracil complexes: dehydration and pyrolytic decomposition. In the hydrated complexes, the first stage observed was the loss of water molecules, which was followed by decomposition of the uracil. The thermal dehydration of the complexes occurred in from one to three steps. The final decomposition products were found to be the respective metal oxides, except in the cases of the Co(II) and Pd(II) complexes, which produced metallic cobalt and palladium, respectively. The order of reaction and energy of activation for the dehydration stage were evaluated. This revised version was published online in November 2005 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

A number of ionic chelate complexes of maltol(A) and hafnium(IV) the type[(η5−C5H5)2HfL]+[MCl3] (B) [HL=maltol; M=Zn(II), Cd(II), Hg(II), Cu(II)]have been synthesized and characterized by spectral studies (IR, UV, 1H NMR and 13C NMR). The stoichiometry of the complexes has been confirmed by conductance measurements. Thermogravimetric (TG) and differential thermal analytical (DTA) studies have been carried out for these complexes and from TG curves, the order, apparent activation energy and apparent activation entropy of the thermal decomposition reactions have been elucidated .The order in each case has been determined to be one and the degree of spontaneity and lability have been inferred from the apparent activation energy and entropy, respectively. Thermal parameters have been correlated with some structural aspects of the complexes concerned. From differential thermal analysis curves, the heat of reaction has been calculated. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Thermal properties of some shedded snake skins in comparison with human skins are represented by thermogravimetry (TG), derivative thermogravimetry (DTG), and differential thermal analysis (DTA) to predict process condition as dermal pathway for administration of drugs or it be used as model membranes for permeation studies. Thermal behavior by TG/DTG and DTA curves for four kinds of shedded snake skins as Boelens Python (BP), Eastern Indigo Snake (EIS), Emerald Tree Boa (ETB), and Cascavel (CBR) were similar in relation to their decomposition temperatures at 100 °C and 230–400 °C of its constituents, however, their properties were different in the residue content (inorganic or carbonaceous substances). Similar thermal properties were also exhibited by human skins’ samples, however, they presented different residue and constituents’ content.  相似文献

Complexes of Ni(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Hg(II) and U(VI)O2 with 2-acetylpyridine-[N-(3-hydroxy-2-naphthoyl)] hydrazone (H2APHNH) have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, thermal (TG, DTG), spectral (1H NMR, IR, UV–Vis, ESR) and magnetic measurements. 1H NMR spectrum of the ligand suggests the presence of intramolecular hydrogen bonding. IR spectra show that H2APHNH is a bidentate, tridentate and/or tetradentate ligand. Thermal decomposition of some complexes ended with metal oxide as a final product. ESR spectra gave evidence for the proposed structure and the bonding for some Cu(II) complexes. Biological activity measurements were carried out.  相似文献

The iodide complexes of transition metals with 1,2-diimidazoloethane (DIE) of the general formula MLI2, (M=Cu(II), Hg(II), Cd(II); L=1,2-diimidazoloethane) were prepared and studied by means of thermogravimetry (TG/DTG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) techniques. Their compositions were investigated by elemental analysis in order to ensure their purity and structural elucidations were based on conductivity measurements, room temperature magnetic measurements, proton NMR, XRD and IR spectra. Thermal decomposition of these distorted tetrahedral complexes and the ligand took place in two distinct steps upon heating up to 800°C, with the loss of inorganic and organic fragments. The thermal degradation of all the complexes (except for cadmium complex) in static air atmosphere started at temperatures lower than those observed for the free ligand pyrolysis. The composition of intermediates formed during degradation was confirmed by microanalysis and IR spectroscopy. The residues after heating above 740°C corresponded to metal oxide except for Hg(II) complex, which behaved differently. It was found on the basis of thermal analysis that thermal stability of the complexes increased in the following sequence: Hg(II)<Cu(II)<Cd(II).  相似文献

Schiff base (L) ligand is prepared via condensation of pyridine-2,6-dicarboxaldehyde with -2-aminopyridine. The ligand and its metal complexes are characterized based on elemental analysis, mass, IR, solid reflectance, magnetic moment, molar conductance, and thermal analyses (TG, DTG and DTA). The molar conductance reveals that all the metal chelates are non-electrolytes. IR spectra shows that L ligand behaves as neutral tridentate ligand and bind to the metal ions via the two azomethine N and pyridine N. From the magnetic and solid reflectance spectra, it is found that the geometrical structures of these complexes are octahedral (Cr(III), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Th(IV)) and tetrahedral (Mn(II), Cd(II), Zn(II), and UO2(II)). The thermal behaviour of these chelates shows that the hydrated complexes losses water molecules of hydration in the first step followed immediately by decomposition of the anions and ligand molecules in the subsequent steps. The activation thermodynamic parameters, such as, E*, ΔH*, ΔS* and ΔG* are calculated from the DTG curves using Coats-Redfern method. The synthesized ligand, in comparison to their metal complexes also was screened for its antibacterial activity against bacterial species, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus pyogones and Fungi (Candida). The activity data shows that the metal complexes to be more potent/antibacterial than the parent Schiff base ligand against one or more bacterial species.  相似文献

The thermal investigations of metal carboxylato complexes of the first transition metals, Mn(II), Fe(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) and non transition metals like Zn(II) and Cd(II) in solid state were carried out under non-isothermal condition in nitrogen atmopshere by thermogravimetric (TG) and differential thermal analyses (DTA) methods. The results of DTA curves inferred that the thermal stability of the complex decreased approximately with the increase of standard potential of the central metal ion. The thermal parameters like activation energy (Ea1), enthalpy change (ΔH) and entropy change (ΔS) corresponding to deaquation, deammoniation and decomposition processes occurred simultaneously or separately were determined from TG and DTA curves by the standard methods. A linear correlation has been found in the plots of ΔH vs. ΔS and Ea1 vs. ΔS in deaquation, deammoniation and decomposition processes. An irreversible phase transition was noticed for H2[Mn(suc)2] and H2[Co(suc)2] complexes in DTA curves. The residual pyrolysed products were metal carbonates.  相似文献

Summary A mixed metal oxalate, manganese(II)bis(oxalato)nickelate(II)tetrahydrate, has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectral and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) studies. Thermal decomposition studies (TG, DTG and DTA) in air showed that the compound decomposed mainly to Mn2O3, MnO2 and NiO at ca.1000°C, via. the formation of several intermediates. DSC study in nitrogen upto 500°C showed the endothermic decomposition. The tentative mechanism for the thermal decomposition in air is proposed.  相似文献

Ammonium[N(o-chlorophenyl)dithiocarbamate], NH4(OCD), ammonium [N(m-chlorophenyl)dithiocarbamate], NH4(MCD) and ammonium [N(p-chlorophenyl)dithiocarbamate], NH4(PCD) and their complexes with Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Sn(II) have been synthesised. These complexes have been characterised on the basis of chemical analyses, molecular weight determinations, conductance measurements, electronic and IR spectral studies. Thermal behaviour of the compounds has been studied with the aid of TG and DTA techniques in static air atmosphere. Heats of reaction for different decomposition steps have been calculated from the DTA curves. The end products obtained after thermal decomposition of the complexes were identified by elemental analyses and IR spectral data.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the physical–chemical properties of collagen (CL) and usnic acid/collagen-based (UAC) films, using differential thermal analysis (DTA), thermogravimetry (TG/DTG), infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Both films were prepared by casting process using polyethylene glycol 1500 (PEG 1500) as plasticizer. In the spectrum of UAC, similar bands of the usnic acid are observed, indicating that the polymerization (film formation) did not affect the stability of the drug. Distinctly, DTA curve of UAC did not show an endothermic peak at 201 °C, indicative that the drug was incorporated into the polymeric system. These results were corroborated by the scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The TG/DTG curves of UAC presented a different thermal decomposition profile compared to the individual compounds and CL. These findings suggest the occurrence of molecular dispersion or solubilization of the drug in the collagen film.  相似文献

Barium(II) tetraphenylborate, Ba(Bph4))2·4H2O was prepared, and its decomposition mechanism was studied by means of TG and DTA. The products of thermal decomposition were examined by means of gas chromatography and chemical methods. A kinetic analysis of the first stage of thermal decomposition was made on the basis of TG and DTG curves and kinetic parameters were obtained from an analysis of the TG and DTG curves using integral and differential methods. The most probable kinetic function was suggested by comparison of kinetic parameters. A mathematical expression was derived for the kinetic compensation effect.  相似文献

Thermogravimetry (TG) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) were performed on the complexes with general formula (M(DEBT)n (where M =Fe, Co, Ni, Cu or Ru; n =2, or 3 and DEBT=N,N-diethyl-N'-benzoylthiourea). Derivative thermogravimetric (DTG) curves were also recorded in order to obtain decomposition data on the complexes. The complexes of Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Ru(III) displayed two- or three-stage decomposition patterns when heated in a dynamic nitrogen atmosphere. Mass loss considerations relating to the decomposition stages indicated the conversion of the complexes to the sulfides or to the corresponding metal alone (Cu, Ru, NiS, CoS or FeS). Mathematical analysis of the TG and DTG data showed that the order of reaction varied between 0.395 and 0.973. Kinetic parameters such as the decomposition energy, the entropy of activation and the pre-exponential factor are reported. This revised version was published online in July 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

A series of Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes have been synthesized with Schiff bases derived from 5-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-thiol and 8-formyl-7-hydroxy-4-methylcoumarin/8-acetyl-7-hydroxy-4-methylcoumarin. The chelation of the complexes has been proposed in the light of analytical, spectral (IR, UV–Vis), ESI-mass, magnetic, ESR and thermal studies. The measured molar conductance values indicate that the complexes are non-electrolytes. TG and DTA provide the useful information about the coordination of water molecules to the metal ion and the stability of the complexes. TG and DTA curves show that the Co(II) complexes decomposition takes place in two stages corresponds to loss due to water molecules and Schiff base moiety. Whereas, Ni(II) and Cu(II) complexes decomposition took place in three steps corresponding to the loss of coordinated water molecules, 1,3,4-thiadiazole moiety and coumarin moiety, respectively. The Schiff bases and their complexes have been screened for their antibacterial and antifungal activities. The results of these studies show the metal complexes to be more antibacterial and antifungal as compared to the uncomplexed coumarins.  相似文献
