Weak interactions between organic molecules are important in solid‐state structures where the sum of the weaker interactions support the overall three‐dimensional crystal structure. The sp‐C—H…N hydrogen‐bonding interaction is strong enough to promote the deliberate cocrystallization of a series of diynes with a series of dipyridines. It is also possible that a similar series of cocrystals could be formed between molecules containing a terminal alkyne and molecules which contain carbonyl O atoms as the potential hydrogen‐bond acceptor. I now report the crystal structure of two cocrystals that support this hypothesis. The 1:1 cocrystal of 1,4‐diethynylbenzene with 1,3‐diacetylbenzene, C10H6·C10H10O2, (1), and the 1:1 cocrystal of 1,4‐diethynylbenzene with benzene‐1,4‐dicarbaldehyde, C10H6·C8H6O2, (2), are presented. In both cocrystals, a strong nonconventional ethynyl–carbonyl sp‐C—H…O hydrogen bond is observed between the components. In cocrystal (1), the C—H…O hydrogen‐bond angle is 171.8 (16)° and the H…O and C…O hydrogen‐bond distances are 2.200 (19) and 3.139 (2) Å, respectively. In cocrystal (2), the C—H…O hydrogen‐bond angle is 172.5 (16)° and the H…O and C…O hydrogen‐bond distances are 2.25 (2) and 3.203 (2) Å, respectively.  相似文献

Two chemical isomers of 3‐nitrobenzotrifluoride, namely 1‐(4‐chlorophenylsulfanyl)‐2‐nitro‐4‐(trifluoromethyl)benzene, C13H7ClF3NO2S, (I), and 1‐(4‐chlorophenylsulfanyl)‐4‐nitro‐2‐(trifluoromethyl)benzene, C13H7ClF3NO2S, (II), have been prepared and their crystal structures determined with the specific purpose of forming a cocrystal of the two. The two compounds display a similar conformation, with dihedral angles between the benzene rings of 83.1 (1) and 76.2 (1)°, respectively, but (I) packs in P while (II) packs in P21/c, with C—H⋯O interactions. No cocrystal could be formed, and it is suggested that the C—H⋯O associations in (II) prevent intermolecular mixing and promote phase separation.  相似文献

N‐Phenylformamide, C7H7NO, crystallizes with two molecules in the asymmetric unit which have different conformations of the formylamino group, one being cis and the other trans. This is the first example of an arylformamide crystal containing both conformational isomers and it may thus be considered a cocrystal of the two conformers. The two molecules in the unit cell are linked through N—H...O hydrogen bonding to two other molecules, thereby forming hydrogen‐bonded tetramers within the crystal structure.  相似文献

A novel insensitive energetic cocrystal consisting of 3,3′‐bis(1,2,4‐oxadiazole)‐5,5′‐dione and 4‐amino‐1,2,4‐triazole in a 1:2 molar ratio was prepared and characterized. The structure of this cocrystal was characterized by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. The crystal structure of the cocrystal is a monoclinic system with P1 space group. Properties of the cocrystal studied included thermal decomposition and detonation performance. This cocrystal has a crystal density of 1.689 g · cm–3 at 173 K and good detonation performance (D = 6940 m · s–1, P = 20.9 GPa). Moreover, measured impact and friction sensitivities (IS > 40 J, FS > 360 N) show that it can be classified as an insensitive energetic material. Its thermodynamic properties indicate that it has moderate thermal stability with a sharp exothermic peak (244 °C, 5 K · min–1) and a high critical temperature of thermal explosion (523 K). In view of the observations above, it may serve as a promising alternative to known explosives such as TNT.  相似文献

Harvesting non‐emissive spin‐triplet charge‐transfer (CT) excitons of organic semiconductors is fundamentally important for increasing the operation efficiency of future devices. Here we observe thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) in a 1:2 CT cocrystal of trans‐1,2‐diphenylethylene (TSB) and 1,2,4,5‐tetracyanobenzene (TCNB). This cocrystal system is characterized by absorption spectroscopy, variable‐temperature steady‐state and time‐resolved photoluminescence spectroscopy, single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction, and first‐principles calculations. These data reveal that intermolecular CT in cocrystal narrows the singlet–triplet energy gap and therefore facilitates reverse intersystem crossing (RISC) for TADF. These findings open up a new way for the future design and development of novel TADF materials.  相似文献

The understanding of intermolecular interactions is a key objective of crystal engineering in order to exploit the derived knowledge for the rational design of new molecular solids with tailored physical and chemical properties. The tools and theories of crystal engineering are indispensable for the rational design of (pharmaceutical) cocrystals. The results of cocrystallization experiments of the antithyroid drug 6‐propyl‐2‐thiouracil (PTU) with 2,4‐diaminopyrimidine (DAPY), and of 6‐methoxymethyl‐2‐thiouracil (MOMTU) with DAPY and 2,4,6‐triaminopyrimidine (TAPY), respectively, are reported. PTU and MOMTU show a high structural similarity and differ only in the replacement of a methylene group (–CH2–) with an O atom in the side chain, thus introducing an additional hydrogen‐bond acceptor in MOMTU. Both molecules contain an ADA hydrogen‐bonding site (A = acceptor and D = donor), while the coformers DAPY and TAPY both show complementary DAD sites and therefore should be capable of forming a mixed ADA/DAD synthon with each other, i.e. N—H…O, N—H…N and N—H…S hydrogen bonds. The experiments yielded one solvated cocrystal salt of PTU with DAPY, four different solvates of MOMTU, one ionic cocrystal of MOMTU with DAPY and one cocrystal salt of MOMTU with TAPY, namely 2,4‐diaminopyrimidinium 6‐propyl‐2‐thiouracilate–2,4‐diaminopyrimidine–N,N‐dimethylacetamide–water (1/1/1/1) (the systematic name for 6‐propyl‐2‐thiouracilate is 6‐oxo‐4‐propyl‐2‐sulfanylidene‐1,2,3,6‐tetrahydropyrimidin‐1‐ide), C4H7N4+·C7H9N2OS·C4H6N4·C4H9NO·H2O, (I), 6‐methoxymethyl‐2‐thiouracil–N,N‐dimethylformamide (1/1), C6H8N2O2S·C3H7NO, (II), 6‐methoxymethyl‐2‐thiouracil–N,N‐dimethylacetamide (1/1), C6H8N2O2S·C4H9NO, (III), 6‐methoxymethyl‐2‐thiouracil–dimethyl sulfoxide (1/1), C6H8N2O2S·C2H6OS, (IV), 6‐methoxymethyl‐2‐thiouracil–1‐methylpyrrolidin‐2‐one (1/1), C6H8N2O2S·C5H9NO, (V), 2,4‐diaminopyrimidinium 6‐methoxymethyl‐2‐thiouracilate (the systematic name for 6‐methoxymethyl‐2‐thiouracilate is 4‐methoxymethyl‐6‐oxo‐2‐sulfanylidene‐1,2,3,6‐tetrahydropyrimidin‐1‐ide), C4H7N4+·C6H7N2O2S, (VI), and 2,4,6‐triaminopyrimidinium 6‐methoxymethyl‐2‐thiouracilate–6‐methoxymethyl‐2‐thiouracil (1/1), C4H8N5+·C6H7N2O2S·C6H8N2O2S, (VII). Whereas in (I) only an AA/DD hydrogen‐bonding interaction was formed, the structures of (VI) and (VII) both display the desired ADA/DAD synthon. Conformational studies on the side chains of PTU and MOMTU also revealed a significant deviation for cocrystals (VI) and (VII), leading to the desired enhancement of the hydrogen‐bond pattern within the crystal.  相似文献

Racemic 2,4(6)‐di‐O‐benzoyl‐myo‐inositol 1,3,5‐orthoformate, C21H18O8, (1) , shows a very efficient intermolecular benzoyl‐group migration reaction in its crystals. However, the presence of 4,4′‐bipyridine molecules in its cocrystal, C21H18O8·C10H8N2, (1)·BP , inhibits the intermolecular benzoyl‐group transfer reaction. In (1) , molecules are assembled around the crystallographic twofold screw axis (b axis) to form a helical self‐assembly through conventional O—H...O hydrogen‐bonding interactions. This helical association places the reactive C6‐O‐benzoyl group (electrophile, El) and the C4‐hydroxy group (nucleophile, Nu) in proximity, with a preorganized El...Nu geometry favourable for the acyl transfer reaction. In the cocrystal (1)·BP , the dibenzoate and bipyridine molecules are arranged alternately through O—H...N interactions. The presence of the bipyridine molecules perturbs the regular helical assembly of the dibenzoate molecules and thus restricts the solid‐state reactivity. Hence, unlike the parent dibenzoate crystals, the cocrystals do not exhibit benzoyl‐transfer reactions. This approach is useful for increasing the stability of small molecules in the crystalline state and could find application in the design of functional solids.  相似文献

The 1D complex [(CuL0.5H2O) ? H2O]n ( 1 ) (H4L=2,2′‐bipyridine‐3,3′,6,6′‐tetracarboxylic acid) undergoes an irreversible thermally triggered single‐crystal‐to‐single‐crystal (SCSC) transformation to produce the 3D anhydrous complex [CuL0.5]n ( 2 ). This SCSC structural transformation was confirmed by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis, thermogravimetric (TG) analysis, powder X‐ray diffraction (PXRD) patterns, variable‐temperature powder X‐ray diffraction (VT–PXRD) patterns, and IR spectroscopy. Structural analyses reveal that in complex 2 , though the initial 1D chain is still retained as in complex 1 , accompanied with the Cu‐bound H2O removed and new O(carboxyl)?Cu bond forming, the coordination geometries around the CuII ions vary from a distorted trigonal bipyramid to a distorted square pyramid. With the drastic structural transition, significant property changes are observed. Magnetic analyses show prominent changes from antiferromagnetism to weak ferromagnetism due to the new formed Cu1‐O‐C‐O‐Cu4 bridge. The catalytic results demonstrate that, even though both solid‐state materials present high catalytic activity for the synthesis of 2‐imidazolines derivatives and can be reused, the activation temperature of complex 1 is higher than that of complex 2 . In addition, a possible pathway for the SCSC structural transformations is proposed.  相似文献

The cocrystallization of adamantane‐1,3‐dicarboxylic acid (adc) and 4,4′‐bipyridine (4,4′‐bpy) yields a unique 1:1 cocrystal, C12H16O4·C10H8N2, in the C2/c space group, with half of each molecule in the asymmetric unit. The mid‐point of the central C—C bond of the 4,4′‐bpy molecule rests on a center of inversion, while the adc molecule straddles a twofold rotation axis that passes through two of the adamantyl C atoms. The constituents of this cocrystal are joined by hydrogen bonds, the stronger of which are O—H...N hydrogen bonds [O...N = 2.6801 (17) Å] and the weaker of which are C—H...O hydrogen bonds [C...O = 3.367 (2) Å]. Alternate adc and 4,4′‐bpy molecules engage in these hydrogen bonds to form zigzag chains. In turn, these chains are linked through π–π interactions along the c axis to generate two‐dimensional layers. These layers are neatly packed into a stable crystalline three‐dimensional form via weak C—H...O hydrogen bonds [C...O = 3.2744 (19) Å] and van der Waals attractions.  相似文献

The formation of a photoreactive cocrystal based upon 1,2‐diiodoperchlorobenzene ( 1,2‐C6I2Cl4 ) and trans‐1,2‐bis(pyridin‐4‐yl)ethylene ( BPE ) has been achieved. The resulting cocrystal, 2( 1,2‐C6I2Cl4 )·( BPE ) or C6Cl4I2·0.5C12H10N2, comprises planar sheets of the components held together by the combination of I…N halogen bonds and halogen–halogen contacts. Notably, the 1,2‐C6I2Cl4 molecules π‐stack in a homogeneous and face‐to‐face orientation that results in an infinite column of the halogen‐bond donor. As a consequence of this stacking arrangement and I…N halogen bonds, molecules of BPE also stack in this type of pattern. In particular, neighbouring ethylene groups in BPE are found to be parallel and within the accepted distance for a photoreaction. Upon exposure to ultraviolet light, the cocrystal undergoes a solid‐state [2 + 2] cycloaddition reaction that produces rctt‐tetrakis(pyridin‐4‐yl)cyclobutane ( TPCB ) with an overall yield of 89%. A solvent‐free approach utilizing dry vortex grinding of the components also resulted in a photoreactive material with a similar yield.  相似文献

The long‐persistent phosphorescent metal–organic framework (MOF) is a kind of highly desirable but rare material. Here, two new molecular MOF materials, {[Zn(tipa)Cl] ? NO3 ? 2 DMF}n ( 1 ) and {[Cd2(tipa)2Cl4] ? 6 DMF}n ( 2 ) (tipa=tri(4‐imidazolylphenyl)amine), which have 3D twofold interpenetrated ( utp ) and 2D noninterpenetrated ( kgd ) topologies, respectively, are reported. They exhibit unexpected long‐persistent emissions yet reported: At 77 K, they persist in glowing after stopping the UV irradiation on a timescale up to seconds at 77 K, which can be detected by the naked eye (ca. 2 s). Compounds 1 and 2 also undergo single‐crystal‐to‐single‐crystal (SC‐SC) transformations through different routes; a simple anion‐exchange route for 1 and a complicated replacement of μ1‐Cl? ions by DMF molecules accompanying I3? captured in the void for 2 .  相似文献

The stoichiometry, X‐ray structures and stability of four pharmaceutical cocrystals previously identified from liquid‐assisted grinding (LAG) of 11‐azaartemisinin (11‐Aza; systematic name: 1,5,9‐trimethyl‐14,15,16‐trioxa‐11‐azatetracyclo[10.3.1.04,13.08,13]hexadecan‐10‐one) with trans‐cinnamic (Cin), maleic (Mal) and fumaric (Fum) acids are herein reported. trans‐Cinnamic acid, a mono acid, forms 1:1 cocrystal 11‐Aza:Cin ( 1 , C15H23NO4·C9H8O2). Maleic acid forms both 1:1 cocrystal 11‐Aza:Mal ( 2 , C15H23NO4·C4H4O4), in which one COOH group is involved in self‐catenation, and 2:1 cocrystal 11‐Aza2:Mal ( 3 , 2C15H23NO4·C4H4O4). Its isomer, fumaric acid, only affords 2:1 cocrystal 11‐Aza2:Fum ( 4 ). All cocrystal formation appears driven by acid–lactam R22(8) heterosynthons with short O—H…O=C hydrogen bonds [O…O = 2.56 (2) Å], augmented by weaker C=O…H—N contacts. Despite a better packing efficiency, cocrystal 3 is metastable with respect to 2 , probably due to a higher conformational energy for the maleic acid molecule in its structure. In each case, the microcrystalline powders from LAG were useful in providing seeding for the single‐crystal growth.  相似文献

In recent years, cocrystallization has emerged as an effective way of tuning the properties of compounds and has been widely used in the field of energetic materials. In this study, we have prepared two novel cocrystals of CL‐20 and methylimidazole, including a 1:2 CL‐20 / 2‐mercapto‐1‐methylimidazole ( 1 ) and a 1:4 CL‐20 / 4‐methyl‐5‐nitroimidazole ( 2 ). Cocrystal 1 has good physical and detonation properties (ρ1 = 1.652 g · cm–3, D1 = 7073 m · s–1, P1 = 21.6 GPa); however, cocrystal 2 shows higher properties (ρ2 = 1.680 g · cm–3, D2 = 7945 m · s–1, P2 = 27.4 GPa). The performance of both cocrystals is better than those of TNT. Thermal performance suggests that both the cocrystals have moderate thermal stabilities. Cocrystal 1 decomposes at 164.9 °C and cocrystal 2 has an exothermic peak at 221 °C. Both cocrystals are insensitive energetic explosives (IS > 40 J, FS > 360 N). Methylimidazole compounds are rarely used as coformers to form cocrystals with CL‐20, which possess good properties for a range of potential applications. Herein, we provide new possible directions for enriching cocrystal speciation.  相似文献

Four crystal structures of 3‐cyano‐6‐hydroxy‐4‐methyl‐2‐pyridone (CMP), viz. the dimethyl sulfoxide monosolvate, C7H6N2O2·C2H6OS, (1), the N,N‐dimethylacetamide monosolvate, C7H6N2O2·C4H9NO, (2), a cocrystal with 2‐amino‐4‐dimethylamino‐6‐methylpyrimidine (as the salt 2‐amino‐4‐dimethylamino‐6‐methylpyrimidin‐1‐ium 5‐cyano‐4‐methyl‐6‐oxo‐1,6‐dihydropyridin‐2‐olate), C7H13N4+·C7H5N2O2, (3), and a cocrystal with N,N‐dimethylacetamide and 4,6‐diamino‐2‐dimethylamino‐1,3,5‐triazine [as the solvated salt 2,6‐diamino‐4‐dimethylamino‐1,3,5‐triazin‐1‐ium 5‐cyano‐4‐methyl‐6‐oxo‐1,6‐dihydropyridin‐2‐olate–N,N‐dimethylacetamide (1/1)], C5H11N6+·C7H5N2O2·C4H9NO, (4), are reported. Solvates (1) and (2) both contain the hydroxy group in a para position with respect to the cyano group of CMP, acting as a hydrogen‐bond donor and leading to rather similar packing motifs. In cocrystals (3) and (4), hydrolysis of the solvent molecules occurs and an in situ nucleophilic aromatic substitution of a Cl atom with a dimethylamino group has taken place. Within all four structures, an R22(8) N—H...O hydrogen‐bonding pattern is observed, connecting the CMP molecules, but the pattern differs depending on which O atom participates in the motif, either the ortho or para O atom with respect to the cyano group. Solvents and coformers are attached to these arrangements via single‐point O—H...O interactions in (1) and (2) or by additional R44(16) hydrogen‐bonding patterns in (3) and (4). Since the in situ nucleophilic aromatic substitution of the coformers occurs, the possible Watson–Crick C–G base‐pair‐like arrangement is inhibited, yet the cyano group of the CMP molecules participates in hydrogen bonds with their coformers, influencing the crystal packing to form chains.  相似文献

Ferroelectric materials exhibit switchable remanent polarization due to reversible symmetry breaking under an applied electric field. Previous research has leveraged temperature‐induced neutral‐ionic transitions in charge‐transfer (CT) cocrystals to access ferroelectrics that operate through displacement of molecules under an applied field. However, displacive ferroelectric behavior is rare in organic CT cocrystals and achieving a Curie temperature (TC) above ambient has been elusive. Here a cocrystal between acenaphthene and 2,3,5,6‐tetrafluoro‐7,7,8,8‐tetracyanoquinodimethane is presented that shows switchable remanent polarization at room temperature (TC=68 °C). Raman spectroscopy, X‐ray diffraction, and solid‐state NMR spectroscopy indicate the ferroelectric behavior is facilitated by acenaphthene (AN) rotation, deviating from conventional design strategies for CT ferroelectrics. These findings highlight the relevance of non‐CT interactions in the design of displacive ferroelectric cocrystals.  相似文献

The crystal structure of a new cocrystal of carbamazepine (systematic name: 5H‐dibenzo[b,f]azepine‐5‐carboxamide, C15H12N2O) and dl ‐tartaric acid (C4H6O6), obtained by liquid‐assisted grinding, was solved by powder X‐ray diffraction (PXRD). The high‐resolution PXRD pattern of this new phase was recorded at room temperature thanks to synchrotron experiments at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (Grenoble, France). The starting structural model was generated by a Monte‐Carlo simulated annealing method. The final structure was obtained through Rietveld refinement and an energy minimization simulation was used to estimate the H‐atom positions. The stability of the proposed structure as a function of temperature was also assessed from molecular dynamics simulations. The symmetry is monoclinic (space group P21/c) and contains eight molecules per unit cell, namely, four dl ‐tartaric acid and four carbamazepine molecules.  相似文献

This work reports a new acetonitrile (ACN)‐solvated cocrystal of piroxicam (PRX) and succinic acid (SA), 2C15H13N3O4S·0.5C4H6O4·C2H3N or PRX:SA:ACN (4:1:2), which adopts the triclinic space group P. The outcome of crystallization from ACN solution can be controlled by varying only the PRX:SA ratio, with a higher PRX:SA ratio in solution unexpectedly favouring a lower stoichiometric ratio in the solid product. In the new solvate, zwitterionic (Z) and non‐ionized (NI) PRX molecules co‐exist in the asymmetric unit. In contrast, the nonsolvated PRX–SA cocrystal contains only NI‐type PRX molecules. The ACN molecule entrapped in PRX–SA·ACN does not form any hydrogen bonds with the surrounding molecules. In the solvated cocrystal, Z‐type molecules form dimers linked by intermolecular N—H…O hydrogen bonds, whereas every pair of NI‐type molecules is linked to SA via N—H…O and O—H…N hydrogen bonds. Thermogravimetry and differential scanning calorimetry suggest that thermal desolvation of the solvate sample occurs at 148 °C, and is followed by recrystallization, presumably of a multicomponent PRX–SA structure. Vibrational spectra (IR and Raman spectroscopy) of PRX–SA·ACN and PRX–SA are also used to demonstrate the ability of spectroscopic techniques to distinguish between NI‐ and Z‐type PRX molecules in the solid state. Hence, vibrational spectroscopy can be used to distinguish the PRX–SA cocrystal and its ACN solvate.  相似文献

Biguanidium tris(biguanide‐κ2N2,N4)manganese(IV) hexanitrate, (C2H9N5)[Mn(C2H7N5)3](NO3)6, is a cocrystal of the [MnIV(C2H7N5)3]4+ ion and biguanidium. The cocrystal exhibits a double hydrogen‐bonding interaction between the biguanide and nitrate groups, which is rarely observed in crystal structures but is proposed as a recognition mode for guanidinium‐recognizing anionic groups in biological systems. In this cocrystal structure, biguanide moieties exist both as divalent cations and as neutral molecules.  相似文献

Two‐dimensional (2D) metallic transition‐metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), such as 1T ‐TiSe2, have recently emerged as unique platforms for exploring their exciting properties of superconductivity and the charge density wave (CDW). 2D 1T ‐TiSe2 undergoes rapid oxidation under ambient conditions, significantly affecting its CDW phase‐transition behavior. We comprehensively investigate the oxidation process of 2D TiSe2 by tracking the evolution of the chemical composition and atomic structure with various microscopic and spectroscopic techniques and reveal its unique selenium‐assisting oxidation mechanism. Our findings facilitate a better understanding of the chemistry of ultrathin TMDCs crystals, introduce an effective method to passivate their surfaces with capping layers, and thus open a way to further explore the functionality of these materials toward devices.  相似文献
