We study two-dimensional Coulomb systems confined in a disk with ideal dielectric boundaries. In particular we consider the two-component plasma in detail. When the coulombic coupling constant =2 the model is exactly solvable. We compute the grand potential, densities and correlations. We show that the grand potential has a universal logarithmic finite-size correction as predicted in previous works. This logarithmic finite-size correction is also found in the free energy of another solvable model: the one-component plasma.  相似文献

给出求含有增益层与损耗层的突变与渐变折射率剖面多层平板波导导模的微扰与解析计算公式。举例讨论了导模模式的增益(或损耗)与结构参数和偏振的关系,本文方法较求解复本征值的打靶法等简便且节省机时,对于(半导体激光器与半导体激光放大器等)实际遇到的波导结构能给出精确数值结果,并可用以分析材料的增益系数或损耗对TE和TM模式及其增益的影响等问题。  相似文献

A two-component Coulomb gas confined by walls made of ideal dielectric material is considered. In two dimensions at the special inverse temperature =2, by using the Pfaffian method, the system is mapped onto a four-component Fermi field theory with specific boundary conditions. The exact solution is presented for a semi-infinite geometry of the dielectric wall (the density profiles, the correlation functions) and for the strip geometry (the surface tension, a finite-size correction of the grand potential). The universal finite-size correction of the grand potential is shown to be a consequence of the good screening properties, and its generalization is derived for the conducting Coulomb gas confined in a slab of arbitrary dimension 2 at any temperature.  相似文献

讨论了两种不同介电常数的固体颗粒不同配比时,对电流变液固态结构的影响。计算结果表明,颗粒的介电常数及配比变化时电流变液的固态结构没有变化,只影响其能量大小;而且发现在低介电常数颗粒的电流变液中加入少许高介电常数颗粒会引起体系能量的显著下降,从而增加了电流变液的稳定性和剪切应力。  相似文献

基于MaxwellWagner模型,推导出有效介电常数关于颗粒体积比的一系列正幂项解析表达式,计算导电球颗粒悬浮于介质或导电液体中构成的简立方格子结构的有效介电常数.数值计算结果表明:在高频条件下(0.1~1.0kHz),有效介电常数主要由导电球颗粒与液体的介电常数比决定,而在低频或直流条件下,导电球颗粒与液体电导率比则起主要作用;有效介电常数的虚数部分有时会很大,即电流变液中的电致损耗有时会相当强,在设计高性能的电流变液时,体系的电导率效应不能忽略.  相似文献

We study the Mott transition as a function of interaction strength in the half-filled Hubbard chain with next-nearest-neighbor hopping t' by calculating the response to an external electric field using the density matrix renormalization group. The electric susceptibility chi diverges when approaching the critical point from the insulating side. We show that the correlation length xi characterizing this transition is directly proportional to fluctuations of the polarization and that chi approximately xi2. The critical behavior shows that the transition is infinite order for all t', whether or not a spin gap is present, and that hyperscaling holds.  相似文献

We present a numerical study of left-handed metamaterials (LHMs) composed of double cross pairs at visible frequency. The S-parameter retrieval method is adopted to confirm the negative refractive characteristic of this design. Compared with fishnet LHMs~ the proposed cross LHMs have a much lower loss, which will greatly facilitate practical applications. It is also found that, with the same size of resonant cells, the cross LHMs have a higher frequency than fishnet LHMs, which is explained using a simple effective LC circuit model.  相似文献

电磁诱导透明是在介质中由不同的入射光诱导产生的量子干涉效应。它以其独特的物理现象,在量子通信和非线性光学应用中具有重要的地位。近年来,人工超材料发展十分迅速,并成为等离子体学领域的一个研究热点。超材料可以很好地调控其物理结构和特性,而且降低了对电磁诱导透明实验条件的要求,模拟出类似于电磁诱导透明的现象即等离激元诱导透明。本文介绍等离激元诱导透明的工作原理,总结实现等离激元诱导透明的几种结构,以及等离激元诱导透明的研究现状,为微型传感器的应用以及等离激元诱导透明结构的设计提供依据。  相似文献

The thermodynamics of vacancy and impurity adsorption at interfaces and grain boundaries (GBs) in solids is considered. Theoretical expressions are derived for the GB/interface free energy change caused by various levels of vacancy or impurity adsorption. This information is used to predict the behavior of vacancies at interfaces and GBs in a stress gradient and to forecast the effect of impurities on GB fracture strength. The latter predictions provide an interpretation of intergranular fracture behavior in terms of impurity adsorption and GB structural parameters such as GB width and value.  相似文献

从P和S偏振出发.研究了由常规材料/左手材料/负介电常数材料、及常规材料/左手材料/负磁导率材料这两种三层不对称结构界面上表面等离子体激元(Surface plasmon polaritons,SPPs)的存在区域、色散曲线及其激发.观察到表面等离子体激元的性质强烈地依赖于人工电磁材料的组成参量,例如介质板的厚度和等离子体的频率.最后,使用衰减全反射(Attenuated total reflection,ATR)技术,探究了激发和观察表面等离子体激元的可能性.并针对P和s偏振两种情况计算了衰减全反射光谱.  相似文献

We deal with the problem of the computation of amplitudes for the bosonic Polyakov string with boundaries and show that both conformal invariance and reparametrisation invariance are maintained in critical dimensional d = 26 as the case without boundaries. The amplitudes of the bosonic, closed oriented Polyakov string with boundaries are formulated aa integral over moduli space with respect to the Weil-Petersson measure.  相似文献

The method of integral equations, which is based on the Green function of periodically arranged sources, is used for analyzing periodic metamaterials (photonic crystals) in the form of the simplest metallic and dielectric inclusions into a rectangular cubic lattice in a dielectric medium (matrix). Dielectric inclusions in the form of parallelepipeds and cubes are considered, as well as similar metallic inclusions (perfectly conducting metal rods) and 1D nanosized structures with metallic layers. Metal inclusions are investigated in the case of ideal conduction and in the case of penetration of a field into the metal, which is simulated as an electron plasma.
