为了讨论由n个同型部件和一个转换开关组成的冷贮备不可修系统的可靠度,假设部件的工作时间和转换开关的寿命均服从指数分布、所有随机变量均相互独立,首先根据系统的特征和可靠度的定义研究并求出三部件冷储备系统可靠度的解析式,然后在三部件冷储备系统可靠度研究的基础上建立了n部件冷贮备系统的可靠性关于部件个数n的递推关系式,最终得到系统的可靠度的解析表达式.计算过程对其他多部件系统可靠度的推导有一定的借鉴作用,计算结果具有一定的理论价值.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a retrial and repairable multi-component system with mixed warm and cold standby components. It is assumed that the failure times of primary (operating) and warm standby components follow exponential distributions. When a component fails, it is sent to a service station with a single server (repairman) and no waiting space. The failed component is repaired if the server is idle and it has to enter an orbit if the server is busy. The failed component in the orbit will try to get the repair service again after an exponentially distributed random time period. The repair time also has an exponential distribution. The mean time-to-failure, MTTF, and the steady-state availability, AT(∞), are derived in this retrial and repairable system. Using a numerical example, we compare the systems with and without retrials in terms of the cost/benefit ratios. Sensitivity analysis for the mean time-to-failure and the steady-state availability are investigated as well.  相似文献

Redundancy or standby is a technique that has been widely applied to improving system reliability and availability in system design. In this paper, a general method for modelling standby system is proposed and system performance measures are derived. It is shown that the proposed general standby system includes the cases of cold, hot and warm standby systems with units of exponential distribution, which were studied in the literature, as special cases. This paper develops measures of information for multivariate distributions when their supports are truncated progressively. The focus is on the joint, marginal, and conditional entropies, and the mutual information for residual life distributions where the support is truncated at the current ages of the components of a system. The current ages of the components induce a joint dynamic into the residual life information measures. Our study of dynamic information measures includes several important bivariate and multivariate lifetime models. We derive entropy expressions for a few models, including Marshall-Olkin bivariate exponential. However, in general, study of the dynamics of residual information measures requires computational techniques or analytical results. A bivariate gamma example illustrates study of dynamic information via numerical integration. The analytical results facilitate studying other distributions. The results are on monotonicity of the residual entropy of a system and on transformations that preserve the monotonicity and the order of entropies between two systems. The results also include a new entropy characterization of the joint distribution of independent exponential random variables.  相似文献

This paper deals with the costn–benefit analysis of a cold standby system composed of n identical repairable units, subject to slow switch. Two models of system functioning are studied in this paper. In model 1, the repair time of a unit is assumed to follow exponential distribution and the other time distributions as arbitrary, while in model 2, the repair time of a unit is assumed to be arbitrarily distributed and the other time distributions follow exponential law. For both the models, the system characteristics, namely

(i) the expected upn–time of the system during the period (O,t]

(ii) the expected busyn–period of the repair facility during the period (0,t] and

(iii) the expected time the units spend in the switchover/installation state during the period (O,t]

There are various notions of partial ordering between lifetimes of systems; stochastic ordering, failure rate ordering, and likelihood ratio ordering. In this paper we show that for series systems with noni.i.d. exponential lifetimes of components, standby redundancy at component level is better than that at system level in failure rate ordering and likelihood ratio ordering. We also demonstrate that for 2-component parallel systems withi.i.d. exponential lifetimes of components, standby system redundancy is better than standby component redundancy in failure rate ordering and likelihood ratio ordering.  相似文献

In the context of industrial engineering, cold‐standby redundancies allocation strategy is usually adopted to improve the reliability of coherent systems. This paper investigates optimal allocation strategies of cold standbys for series and parallel systems comprised of dependent components with left/right tail weakly stochastic arrangement increasing lifetimes. For the case of heterogeneous and independent matched cold standbys, it is proved that better redundancies should be put in the nodes having weaker [better] components for series [parallel] systems. For the case of homogeneous and independent cold standbys, it is shown that more redundancies should be put in standby with weaker [better] components to enhance the reliability of series [parallel] systems. The results developed here generalize and extend those corresponding ones in the literature to the case of series and parallel systems with dependent components. Numerical examples are also presented to provide guidance for the practical use of our theoretical findings.  相似文献

It is well recognized that using the hot standby redundancy provides fast restoration in the case of failures. However the redundant elements are exposed to working stresses before they are used, which reduces the overall system reliability. Moreover, the cost of maintaining the hot redundant elements in the operational state is usually much greater than the cost of keeping them in the cold standby mode. Therefore, there exists a tradeoff between the cost of losses associated with the restoration delays and the operation cost of standby elements. Such a trade-off can be obtained by designing both hot and cold redundancy types into the same system. Thus a new optimization problem arises for the standby system design. The problem, referred to in this work as optimal standby element distributing and sequencing problem (SE-DSP) is to distribute a fixed set of elements between cold and hot standby groups and select the element initiation sequence so as to minimize the expected mission operation cost of the system while providing a desired level of system reliability. This paper first formulates and solves the SE-DSP problem for 1-out-of-N: G heterogeneous non-repairable standby systems. A numerical method is proposed for evaluating the system reliability and expected mission cost simultaneously. This method is based on discrete approximation of time-to-failure distributions of the system elements. A genetic algorithm is used as an optimization tool for solving the formulated optimization problem. Examples are given to illustrate the considered problem and the proposed solution methodology.  相似文献

This paper deals with the reliability and availability characteristics of four different series system configurations with mixed standby (include cold standby and warm standby) components. The failure times of the primary and warm standby components are assumed to be exponentially distributed with parameters λ and , respectively. The repair time distribution of each server is also exponentially distributed with parameter μ. We derive the mean time-to-failure, MTTF, and the steady-state availability, AT(∞), for four configurations and perform comparisons. For all four configurations, comparisons are done for specific values of distribution parameters and of the cost of the components. Finally, the configurations are ranked based on: MTTF, AT(∞), and cost/benefit where benefit is either MTTF or AT(∞).  相似文献

The concept of mean residual life is one of the most important characteristics that has been widely used in dynamic reliability analysis. It is a useful tool for investigating ageing properties of technical systems. In this paper, we define and study three different mean residual life functions for k-out-of-n:G system with a single cold standby component. In particular, we obtain explicit expressions for the corresponding functions using distributions of order statistics. We also provide some stochastic ordering results associated with the lifetime of a system. We illustrate the results for various lifetime distributions.  相似文献
