Synthesis of four different types of ligands Ar[COC(NOH)R]
n
(Ar = biphenyl, n = 1, HL1; Ar = biphenyl, n = 2, H2L2; Ar = diphenylmethane, n = 1, HL3; Ar = diphenylmethane, n = 2, H2L4; R = furfurylamine in all ligands) and their dinuclear Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, and Zn2+ complexes is reported herein. These compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, ICP-OES, FT-IR spectra, and magnetic
susceptibility measurements. The ligands were further characterized by 1H NMR. The results suggest that dinuclear complexes of HL1 and HL3 have a metal to ligand mole ratio of 2: 2 and dinuclear complexes H2L2 and H2L4 have a metal to ligand mole ratio of 2: 1. Square pyramidal or octahedral structures are proposed for complexes of oxime
ligands. Furthermore, extraction abilities of the four ligands were also evaluated in chloroform using selected transition
metal picrates such as Mn2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Cd2+, Hg2+, Pb2+. The ligands show strong binding ability towards Hg2+ and Cu2+ ions. 相似文献

Three novel compounds, based on the 1,3,5-benzene core with C3-symmetry, have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, i.r. and 1H-n.m.r. Thermodynamic properties of the ligands and their CoII, NiII, CuII, and ZnII metal complexes have been investigated and the corresponding stability constants obtained at 25.0 ± 0.1 °C and with I = 0.1 mol dm–3 in KNO3 by potentiometric titration. A linear free energy relationship exists between the stability constants of complexes and the protonation constants of ligands in the ternary system of the CuII-5-substituted phenanthroline-tripod ligand complexes. 相似文献

Four binuclear Co(Ⅱ), Ni(Ⅱ) and Cu(Ⅱ) complexes bridged by oxamidate (oxd) group have been synthesized, namely Co2(byp)2(oxd)(ClO4)2 (1), Co2(Me2bpy)2(oxd)(ClO4)2.H2O (2), Ni2(bpy)2(oxd)(ClO4)2.2H2O (3) and Cu2(Me2bpy)2(oxd)(NO3)2 (4). (bpy=2,2'-bipyridyl, Me2-bpy=4,4'-dimethylbipyridyl, oxd=oxamidate) The complexes are characterized by IR, UV spectra, EPR and variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility (4-300 K). The susceptibility data for. complexes 1 and 3 were least-squares fit to the susceptibility equation derived from the spin Hamiltonian H=-2J . S1 . S2. The exchange integral, J, was found to be equal to -3.62 cm-1 in 1 and -1.82 cm-1 in 3. This indicates a weak antiferromagnetic spin exchange interaction between the metal ions. 相似文献

Four unsymmetrical vic-dioximes: [L1H2] N-(4-butylphenyl)amino-amphi-glyoxime, [L2H2] N-(4-butylphenyl)amino-anti-glyoxime, [L3H2] N-(4-phenylazophenyl)amino-amphi-glyoxime and [L4H2] N-(4-phenylazophenyl)amino-anti-glyoxime have been prepared from amphi-chloroglyoxime, anti-chloroglyoxime, 4-butylaniline and 4-(phenylazo)aniline respectively. The complexes of these vic-dioximes with NiII, CoII, CuII and CdII ions have been investigated. All are insoluble in common solvents. Summary Cobalt(II), nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes of 2-thiouracil and its arylazo derivatives were prepared. The elemental analysis suggest a range of 11, 21 and 13 stoichiometries. Electronic spectra and magnetic susceptibility measurements were used to infer the structures and the i.r. spectra of the ligands and their complexes to identify the type of bonding. 相似文献

To explore the relationships between the structures of ligands and their complexes, we have synthesized and characterized a series of metal complexes with two structurally related ligands, 9-acridinecarboxylic acid (HL(1)) and 4-quinolinecarboxylate acid (HL(2)), [Cu(2)(mu(2)-OMe)(2)(L(1))(2)(H(2)O)(0.69)](n) 1, [Cu(2)(L(1))(4)(CH(3)OH)(2)] 2, [Cu(3)(L(1))(6)(CH(3)OH)(6)].3H(2)O 3, [Mn(3)(L(1))(6)(CH(3)OH)(6)].3H(2)O 4, [Co(3)(L(1))(6)(CH(3)OH)(6)].3H(2)O 5, [Cu(L(2))(2)](n) 6, [Mn(L(2))(2)(H(2)O)](n) 7, and [Co(L(2))(2)(H(2)O)](n) 8. 1 is a three-dimensional (3D) polymer with an interpenetrating NbO type network showing one-dimensional (1D) channels, whereas 2 and 3 take bi- and trinuclear structures, respectively, because of the differences in basicity of the reaction systems in preparing the three complexes. 4 and 5 have trinuclear structures similar to that of 3. In 1-5, ligand L(1) performs different coordination modes with N,O-bridging in 1 and O,O'-bridging in 2-5, and the metal ions also show different coordination geometries: square planar in 1, square pyramidal in 2, and octahedral in 3-5. 6 has a two-dimensional structure containing (4,4) grids in which L(2) adopts the N,O-bridging mode and the Cu(II) center takes square planar geometry. 7 and 8 are isostructural complexes showing 1D chain structures, with L(2) adopting the O,O-bridging mode. In addition, the intermolecular O-H...N hydrogen bonds and pi-pi stacking interactions further extend the complexes (except 1 and 6), forming 3D structures. The reaction of [NiBr(2)(bpy)(2)] (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine) with organic phosphinic acids ArP(O)(OH)H [Ar = Ph, 2,4,6-trimethylphenyl (Mes), 9-anthryl (Ant)] leads to the formation of binuclear nickel(II) complexes with bridging ArP(H)O(2)(-) ligands. Crystal structures of the binuclear complexes [Ni(2)(μ-O(2)P(H)Ar)(2)(bpy)(4)]Br(2) (Ar = Ph, Mes, Ant) have been determined. In each structure, the metal ions have distorted octahedral coordination and are doubly bridged by two arylphosphinato ligands. Magnetic susceptibility measurements have shown that these complexes display strong antiferromagnetic coupling between the two nickel atoms at low temperatures, apparently similar to binuclear nickel(II) complexes with bridging carboxylato ligands. Cyclic voltammetry and in situ EPR spectroelectrochemistry show that these complexes can be electrochemically reduced and oxidized with the formation of Ni(I),Ni(0)/Ni(III) derivatives. 相似文献

) have been prepared, by reacting the corresponding metal chloride with the ligand in a 1:2 ratio, and characterised by chemical analysis and physical measurements. The ligand behaviour and the geometry have been assigned on the basis of i.r. spectroscopy, electronic reflectance spectra and molar conductivity values and only, where possible, the geometry has been confirmed as octahedral by X-ray structure determination. Complexes cytotoxicity on a human cellular line of adenocarcinoma was also tested. Three of the complexes present a weak cytotoxicity in vitro. 相似文献

Summary The synthesis and coordination behaviour of 1-allylbenzotriazole (ABT), containing both -donating heterocyclic ring nitrogen(s) and a -bonding olefinic group, has been studied by complexation with CoII, NiII, CuII, CuI and AgI salts. The solid complexes M(ABT)2X2 (M=Co, Ni or Cu and X=a counterion) and M(ABT)X (M=Cu or Ag and X=Br, I, or NO3) have been characterised by1H-n.m.r. (representative CuI species) and other physical data. Different modes coordination for the title ligand have been proposed based upon i.r. data which indicate the participation of a -donating ring nitrogen only in complexes with bivalent metal salts, and the involvement of both the ring nitrogen and the allylic olefinic component in bonding to a monovalent metal ion.1H-n.m.r. data are qualitatively commensurate with participation of the allyl group in monovalent metal complexes. 相似文献

We describe the synthesis and characterization of two novel azo ligands, 4,5-dihydroxy-3,6-bis(2-hydroxyphenylazo)-2,7 naphthalene
disulfonic acid (H2L) and 4,5-dihydroxy-3,6-bis(2-hydroxy-4-sulfophenylazo)-2,7-naphthalenedisulfonic acid (H2L1). The Cu(II), Ni(II), and Co(II) complexes of these ligands were prepared and characterized by infrared, UV–Vis, 1H- and 13C-NMR spectra, atomic absorption spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, elemental analyses, thermogravimetric analysis, conductivity,
cyclic voltammetry, and magnetic measurements. The results suggest that the complexes have a 2:1 (metal:ligand) molar ratio,
involving binuclear azo ligands with an ONO donor set. Metal ion uptake studies were conducted with a batch technique. Preliminary
histological studies were also made. The results indicate that the azo ligands have high thermal stability, good metal extraction

Acetylsalicylhydroxamic acid (AcSHA) was prepared and characterized. Its pKa value was determined as 7.78. Solid metal complexes of AcSHA were also prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, electronic and i.r. spectroscopies, and by magnetic moment measurements. The shift of both hydroxamic and acetyl carbonyl vibrations to lower frequencies clearly indicates that AcSHA is bonded through oxygen atoms to the metal ions as a tridentate ligand. Four-coordination compounds of the bis-Schiff base, bis(o-vanillin)-o-phenylenediamine, with CoII, NiII, CuII and ZnII were obtained in high yield by a self-assembly solid state reaction of the metal acetates with o-vanillin and o- phenylenediamine at 60°C. The new double-Schiff-base ligand H6ipa-bhea has been synthesized by condensation of a 4,6-diformylresorcinol derivative (ipa) with two equivalents of N,N-bis-(2-hydroxyethyl)ethylenediamine (bhea). Reaction with copper(II) perchlorate leads to the formation of two different products depending on the reaction conditions. The directed synthesis of either a mononuclear or dinuclear copper(II) complex is reported. The reaction in methanol results in the formation of a dinuclear complex [Cu2(H4ipa-bhea)](ClO4)2 (1). Whereas in the presence of water as solvent for the reaction, one imine side chain of the ligand is hydrolyzed regenerating the formyl moiety with the mononuclear complex [Cu(H3hyforsa-bhea)]ClO4 · 2H2O (2) as final product. Subsequent reaction of complex 2 with N,N-bis-(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)ethylenediamine (unspenp) as additional amine component results in the formation of the mononuclear complex [Cu(Hhyforsa-unspenp)]ClO4 (3). All complexes are characterized by IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis and X-ray crystallography. Temperature-dependent magnetic measurements on the dinuclear complex indicate weak antiferromagnetic exchange interactions between the copper(II) ions with a coupling constant of J = ?16.4 cm?1. Density functional calculations have been used to evaluate the magnetic properties. The exchange coupling constant can be nicely reproduced with the use of the broken symmetry approach. The exchange pathway through the meta-phenylene-linkage is discussed in terms of a competitive spin-polarization and superexchange mechanism as well as geometrical changes at the copper(II) ions. 相似文献

The thermal properties of the Cu(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) complexes of iminodiacetic acid (H2IMDA) were determined using TG, DTG and DSC techniques. The complexes, of general formula, MIMDA-2H2O evolved water of hydration from 50 to 150°C which was followed by the decomposition of the anhydrous complex in the 250 to 400°C temperature range. The thermal stability, as determined by procedural decomposition temperatures, was: Ni(II) >Co(II) >Cu(II). The thermal stability is discussed in terms of IR spectra, ΔH, and ΔS, as well as thermal data. 相似文献

The self-assembly of unsymmetrical metal ligands from simpler components circumvents complex synthetic approaches. We show herein how a recently developed three-component assembly to create tripicolylamine-like ligands can be extended to the use of azides rather than pyridines. Substituent effects, metal dependence, and reversibility of the assembly are explored. Further, we show that the extent of assembly directly correlates with the differential binding of the templating metals between dipicolylamine-like and tripicolyamine-like ligands. 相似文献

Cobalt(II), nickel(II), and copper(II) (1, 2, and 3) complexes of the dianionic form of the bis(phenolate) ligand N,N-bis(3,4-dimethyl-2-hydroxybenzyl)-N',N'-dimethylethylenediamine (H2L) have been synthesized by electrochemical oxidation of the appropriate metal in an acetonitrile solution of the ligand. When copper is used as the anode, the addition of 1,10-phenanthroline to the electrolytic phase gave rise to a different compound [CuL]2.2CH3CN (4). The compounds [CoL]2.2CH3CN (1), [Ni2L2(H2O)].H2O (2), [CuL]2.3H2O (3), and [CuL]2.2CH3CN (4) were characterized by microanalysis, IR, electronic spectroscopy, FAB mass spectrometry, magnetic measurements and by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal structures show that the complexes have a dinuclear structure. In compounds 1, 3, and 4, two metal ions are coordinated by the two amine nitrogens and the two phenol oxygen atoms of a deprotonated pendant phenol ligand, with one phenolic oxygen atom from ligand acting as a bridge. In compounds 1 and 3, each metal center has a geometry that is closest to trigonal bipyramidal. Magnetic susceptibility data for both compounds show an antiferromagnetic coupling with 2J = -15 cm(-1) for the cobalt(II) complex and a strong antiferromagnetic coupling with 2J = -654 cm(-1) for the copper(II) complex. However, in 4 the geometry around the metal is closer to square pyramidal and the compound shows a lower antiferromagnetic coupling (2J = -90 cm(-1)) than in 3. The nickel atoms in the dimeric compound 2 are hexacoordinate. The NiN2O4 chromophore has a highly distorted octahedral geometry. In this structure, a dianionic ligand binds to one nickel through the two amine nitrogen atoms and the two oxygen atoms and to an adjacent nickel via one of these oxygen atoms. The nickel atoms are linked through a triple oxygen bridge involving two phenolic oxygens, each from a different ligand, and an oxygen atom from a water molecule. The two nickel ions in 2 are ferromagnetically coupled with 2J = 19.8 cm(-1). 相似文献

Salicylaldehyde 2-phenylquinoline-4-carboylhydrazone (H2L), and its novel copper(II), cobalt(II), and nickel(II) complexes MHL · Cl · nH2O [M=Cu n = 3 (1), M=Co n = 2 (2), M=Ni n = 3.5 (3)] have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductivity, spectroscopic, and thermal analysis.
The interaction of these complexes with calf thymus DNA was investigated by UV absorption spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy,
cyclic voltammetry, and viscosity measurements. The results suggest that these complexes bind to DNA via an intercalation
binding mode and their affinity to DNA follows the order of 3 > 1> 2.

To systematically explore the influence of the bulky aromatic ring skeleton with a large conjugated pi-system on the structures and properties of their complexes, six CuII, CoII, and NiII complexes with the anthracene-based carboxylic ligand anthracene-9-carboxylic acid (HL1), were synthesized and characterized, sometimes incorporating different auxiliary ligands: [Cu2(L1)4(CH3OH)2](CH3OH) (1), [Cu4(L1)6(L2)4](NO3)2(H2O)2 (2), {[Cu2(L1)4(L3)](CH3OH)0.25}infinity (3), [Co2(L1)4(L4)2(micro-H2O)](CH3OH) (4), {[Co(L1)2(L5)(CH3OH)2]}infinity (5), and {[Ni(L1)2(L5)(CH3OH)2]}infinity (6) (L2 = 2,2'-bipyridine, L3 = 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane, L4 = 1,10-phenanthroline, and L5 = 4,4'-bipyridine). 1 has a dinuclear structure that is further assembled to form a one-dimensional (1D) chain and then a two-dimensional (2D) network by the C-H...O H-bonding and pi...pi stacking interactions jointly. 2 takes a tetranuclear structure due to the existence of the chelating L2 ligand. 3 possesses a 1D chain structure by incorporating the related auxiliary ligand L3, which is further interlinked via interchain pi...pi stacking, resulting in a three-dimensional (3D) network. 4 also has a dinuclear structure and then forms a higher-dimensional supramolecular network through intermolecular pi...pi stacking and/or C-H...pi interactions. 5 and 6 are isostructural complexes, except they involve different metal ions, showing 1D chain structures, which are also assembled into 2D networks from the different crystallographic directions by interchain pi...pi stacking and C-H...pi interactions, respectively. The results reveal that the steric bulk of the anthracene ring in HL1 plays an important role in the formation of 1-6. The magnetic properties of the complexes were investigated, and the very long intermetallic distances result in weak magnetic coupling, with the exception of 1 and 3, which adopt the typical paddle-wheel structure of copper acetate and are thus strongly coupled. 相似文献

The stability constants of ZnII, CuII, NiII and CoII with different tripodal ligands, 1,3,5-tris(2,5-diazaoctxyl)benzene (L1), 1,3,5-tris(2,5-diazanonxyl)benzene (L2) and 1,3,5-tris[3-(2-pyridyl)-2-azapropyl]benzene (L3) have been studied at 25 °C in 0.1 mol dm–3 KNO3 aqueous solution using potentiometric titrations. During the titrations, the ligand concentrations were kept constant at 1 × 10–3 mol dm–3, while 1:1 and 1:3 metal:ligand ratios were used for each system. The results indicated that, in the 1:1 metal:ligand ratio, the binding of MII to the ligand gives rise to several 1:1 complexes differing in their degree of protonation whereas in the 3:1 ratio, polynuclear complexes are formed. Additionally, the ternary complexes of the tripod ligands, with CuII-5-substituted-1, 10-phenanthroline have been investigated and the results show that linear free energy relationship exists in such ternary systems. 相似文献
