The contact problem for an arbitrary punch acting on a transversely isotropic elastic layer bonded to a rigid foundation is solved by the generalized images method developed by the author earlier. The problem is reduced to that of an electrostatic problem of infinite row of coaxial charged disks in the shape of the domain of contact. The solution can be obtained by the method of iteration, collocations or any other standard procedure for solving integral equations. Exact inversion can be obtained in the case of a circular domain of contact. The mean value theorem can be used for estimation of the resultant force and tilting moment acting on a punch of arbitrary shape and circular domain of contact. A limiting case of general solution gives the solution for an isotropic layer.  相似文献

The three-dimensional problem of the wear of a punch, which slides randomly on a thin elastic layer is considered. Using the deformation model of an asymptotically thin layer and the procedure for averaging the wear law in random directions of the sliding of the punch, a differential equation is obtained for the kinetics of the punch wear, an analytical solution of which is constructed by the method of characteristics. It is established that a characteristic feature of the evolution of the shape of the worn surface of the punch is its equidistant displacement in the contact plane. An expression for the rate of this displacement is obtained.  相似文献

The plane contact problem of the theory of elasticity of the interaction between a punch, having a base in the form of a paraboloid, and a layer, taking Coulomb friction in the contact region into account, is considered. It is assumed that either the lower boundary of the layer is fixed or there are no normal displacements and shear stresses on it, and that normal and shear forces are acting on the punch. Here, the punch-layer system is in a condition of limit equilibrium, and the punch does not turn during the deformation of the layer. The case of quasi-statistics, when the punch moves evenly over the layer surface, can be considered similarly in a moving system of coordinates. The problem is investigated by the large-λ method (see [1–3], etc.), which is further developed here, namely, simple recurrence relations are derived for constructing any number of terms of the series expansion of the solution of the corresponding integral equation in negative powers of the dimensionless parameter λ related to the thickness of the layer.  相似文献

The plane contact problem of elasticity theory on the interaction when there are friction forces in the contact area of an absolutely rigid cylinder (punch) with an internal surface of a cylindrical base, consisting of two circular cylindrical layers rigidly connected to one another and with an elastic space, is considered. The layers and space have different elastic constants. A vertical force and a counterclockwise torque, act on the punch, and the punch – base system is in a state of limiting equilibrium,. An exact integral equation of the first kind with a kernel represented in an explicit analytical form, is obtained for the first time for this problem using analytical calculation programs. The main properties of the kernel of the integral equation are investigated, and it is shown that the numerator and denominator of the kernel symbols can be represented in the form of polynomials in products of the powers of the moduli of the displacement of the layers and the half-space. A solution of the integral equation is constructed by the direct collocation method, which enables the solution of the problem to be obtained for practically any values of the initial parameters. The contact stress distributions, the dimensions of the contact area, the interconnection between the punch displacement and the forces and torques acting on it are calculated as a function of the geometrical and mechanical parameters of the layers and the space. The results of the calculations in special cases are compared with previously known results.  相似文献

In the contact problem of a rigid flat-ended punch on an elastic half-plane, the contact stress under punch is studied. The angle distribution for the stress components in the elastic medium under punch is achieved in an explicit form. From obtained singular stress distribution, the punch singular stress factor (abbreviated as PSSF) is defined. A fundamental solution for the multiple flat punch problems on the elastic half-plane is investigated where the punches are disconnected and the forces applied on the punches are arbitrary. The singular integral equation method is suggested to obtain the fundamental solution. Further, the contact problem for rigidly connected punches on an elastic half-plane is considered. The solution for this problem can be considered as a superposition of many particular fundamental solutions. The resultant forces on punches are the undetermined unknowns in the problem, which can be evaluated by the condition of relative descent between punches. Finally, the resultant forces on punches can be determined, and the PSSFs at the corner points can be evaluated. Numerical examples are given.  相似文献

Analytical methods for solving problems of the interaction of punches with two-layer bases are described using in the example of the axisymmetric contact problem of the theory of elasticity of the interaction of an absolutely rigid sphere (a punch) with the inner surface of a two-layer spherical base. It is assumed that the outer surface of the spherical base is fixed, that the layers have different elastic constants and are rigidly joined to one anther, and that there are no friction forces in the contact area. Several properties of the integral equation of this problem are investigated, and schemes for solving them using the asymptotic method and the direct collocation method are devised. The asymptotic method can be used to investigate the problem for relatively small layer thicknesses, and the proposed algorithm for solving the problem by the collocation method is applicable for practically any values of the initial parameters. A calculation of the contact stress distribution, the parameters of the contact area, and the relation between the displacement of the punch and the force acting on it is given. The results obtained by these methods are compared, and a comparison with results obtained using Hertz, method is made for the case in which the relative thickness of the layers is large.  相似文献

Two axisymmetric problems of the indentation without friction of an elastic punch into the upper face of a layer when there is a uniform field of initial stresses in the layer are considered. The model of an isotropic incompressible non-linearly elastic material, specified by a Mooney potential, is used. Two cases are investigated: when the lower face of the layer is rigidly clamped after it is prestressed, and when the lower face of the layer is supported on a rigid base without friction after it is prestressed. It is assumed that the additional stresses due to the action of the punch on the layer are small compared with the initial stresses; this enables the problem of determining the additional stresses to be linearized. The problem is reduced to solving integral equations of the first kind with symmetrical irregular kernels relative to the pressure in the contact area. Approximate solutions of the integral equations are constructed by the method of orthogonal polynomials for large values of the parameter characterizing the relative layer thickness. The case of a punch with a plane base is considered as an example.  相似文献

With the use of complex potentials from the solution of a contact problem for slits in a multiply-connected region, a solution is found for a problem of the theory of elasticity for an isotropic circular disk with an arbitrary radial crack. The case of an edge crack is among the cases for which a solution is found. The types of loading examined are uniform tension on an outside edge, internal pressure on the edges of cracks, and concentrated forces at arbitrary points of a disk. The unknown coefficients in the complex potentials are found from the boundary conditions on the outside edge of the disk by the series method, the colocation method, or the least squares method. Detailed numerical studies are conducted to determine the effect of the geometric characteristics and the points of application of concentrated forces on the character of the stress distribution and the stress intensity factor. A comparative characteristic of the methods used to find the coefficients is presented.Translated from Teoreticheskaya i Prikladnaya Mekhanika, No. 19 pp. 50–61, 1988.  相似文献

The two-dimensional Helmholtz differential equation governs vibrational problems for a thin membrane and is therefore well studied. Analytical solutions are limited to particular domain shapes, so that in general numerical methods are used when an arbitrary domain is considered. In this paper, a quasi-analytical solution is proposed, suitable to be applied to an arbitrary domain shape. Concretely, the Helmholtz equation is transformed to account for a conformal map between the shape of the physical domain and the unit disk as canonical domain. This way, the transformed Helmholtz equation is solved exploiting well known analytical solutions for a circular domain and the solution in the physical domain is obtained by applying the conformal map. The quasi-analytical approach is compared to analytical solutions for the case of a circular, elliptic and squared domain.  相似文献

An approximate method of solving the contact problem of impressing a plane stamp of nearly circular cross section into an elastic half-space is suggested. The friction of the contact surface is neglected. A numerical algorithm for the method is produced. An elliptical and rectangular stamps are considered as examples. There is no general method of solving the problems for stamps of nearly circular cross section. Apart from the classical problem of a plane elliptical stamp, the literature gives solutions for the problems of polygonal stamps, with each problem however requiring a different approach. An approximate solution for the problem of impressing a stamp of nearly circular cross section into an elastic half-space is given in [1]. The method makes it possible to use the same approach to solve the contact problem for an arbitrary region of contact, and to construct an universal numerical algorithm. The program can be adapted to each particular case by making the corresponding changes in the procedure of computing the Fourier coefficients of the equation of the boundary of the area of contact. Below a numerical algorithm for the approximate method in question is given. A more effective formulation of the solution is given for the case of the elliptical stamp.  相似文献

The contact problem of the frictionless penetration of a punch with strip-shaped section into the surface of a linearly-deformable base protected by a thin elastic layer (covering) of variable thickness, the stiffness of which is comparable to or smaller than that of the supporting elastic body, is investigated. A Fredholm integral equation of the second kind is obtained for the unknown contact pressure with a coefficient in front of the leading term that is a fairly arbitrary function of the longitudinal coordinate. To solve it the Bubnov-Galerkin projection method is used in which the coordinate elements are chosen to be a system of orthogonal polynomials and delta-shaped functions [1, 2] (variational-difference method), together with an algorithm for the required asymptotic expansions [3] when the above-mentioned coefficient is small. In the special case of an elastic half-space protected by a covering of constant thickness, the results obtained are compared with the corresponding characteristics given in [4].  相似文献

There is examined the problem of vibration of a stamp of arbitrary planform occupying a space Ω and vibrating harmonically in an elastic medium with plane boundaries. It is assumed that the elastic medium is a packet of layers with parallel boundaries, at rest in the stiff or elastic half-space. Contact of three kinds is realized under the stamp: rigid adhesion in the domain Ω1, friction-free contact in domain Ω2, there are no tangential contact stresses, and “film” contact without normal force in domain Ω3 (there are no normal contact stresses, only tangential stresses are present.). It is assumed that the boundaries of all the domains have twice continuously differentiable curvature and Ω = Ω1 Ω2 Ω3.

The problem under consideration assumes the presence of a static load pressing the stamp to the layer and hindering the formation of a separation zone. Moreover, a dynamic load, harmonic in time, acts on the stamp causing dynamical stresses which are of the greatest interest since the solution of the static problem is obtained as a particular case of the dynamic problem for ω = 0 (ω is the frequency of vibration). The general solution is constructed in the form of a sum of static and dynamic solutions.

A uniqueness theorem is established for the integral equation of the problem mentioned and for the case of axisymmetric vibration of a circular stamp partially coupled rigidly to the layer, partially making friction-free contact, the problem is reduced to an effectively solvable system of integral equations of the second kind, which reduce easily to a Fredholm system.

These results are an extension of the method elucidated in [1], where by the approach in [1] must be altered qualitatively to obtain them.  相似文献

We consider the Tricomi problem with a type change line that does not coincide with any of the coordinate axes, with a circular sector in the ellipticity domain, and with a triangle formed by the type change line and segments of characteristics in the hyperbolicity domain. We also consider the adjoint problem. The solution of both problems is obtained in the form of a series. For a more general case with a curve of arbitrary shape in the ellipticity domain, we present the maximum principle for both problems.  相似文献

The transient dynamic contact problem of the impact of a plane absolutely rigid punch on an elastic half-plane is considered. The solution of the integral equation of this problem in terms of the unknown Laplace transform of the contact stresses at the punch base is constructed by a special method of successive approximations. The solution of the transient dynamic contact problem is obtained after applying an inverse Laplace transformation to the solution of the integral equation over the whole time range of the impact process, and the law of the penetration of the punch into the elastic medium is determined from a Volterra-type integrodifferential equation. The conditions for the punch to begin to separate from the elastic half-plane are formulated from the solution obtained, and all the stages of the separation process are investigated in detail. The law of the punch motion on the elastic half-plane and the width of the contact area, which varies during the separation, are then determined from the solution of the Volterra-type integrodifferential equation when an additional condition is satisfied.  相似文献

The main terms of the asymptotic form of the solution of the contact problem of the compression without friction of an elastic body and a punch initially in point contact are constructed by the method of matched asymptotic expansions using an improved matching procedure. The condition of unilateral contact is formulated taking account of tangential displacements on the contact surface. An asymptotic solution of the problem for the boundary layer is constructed by the complex potential method. An asymptotic model is constructed, extending the Hertz theory to the case where the surfaces of the punch and elastic body in the vicinity of the contact area are approximated by paraboloids of revolution. The problem of determining the convergence of the contacting bodies from the magnitude of the compressive force is reduced to the problem of calculating the so-called coefficient of local compliance, which is an integral characteristic of the geometry of the elastic body and its fixing conditions.  相似文献

We consider a thin flat inclusion of arbitrary shape located inside a transversely isotropic elastic half-space in the plane parallel to its boundary z = 0. An arbitrary tangential displacement is prescribed on the inclusion. The boundary of the half-space is stress-free. We need to find the complete field of stresses and displacements in this half-space. A governing integral equation is derived by the generalized method of images, introduced by the author. The case of circular inclusion is considered as an example. Two methods of solution of the governing integral equation are derived. A detailed solution is presented for the particular cases of radial expansion, torsion and lateral displacement of the inclusion. The solution is also valid for the case of isotropy. The governing integral equation for the case of isotropy is derived.  相似文献

The plane dynamic contact problem of the harmonic oscillations of a rigid punch on the free surface of an elastic layer of porous isotropic material with linear properties is considered. The Fourier transformation of the problem is reduced to a Fredholm integral equation of the first kind in the contact pressure. The properties of the kernel of the fundamental integral equation are investigated and a numerical method of solving it is constructed. Numerical results are compared with existing results in classical limiting cases.  相似文献

The interaction of two punches, which are elliptic in plan, on the face of an elastic wedge is investigated in a three-dimensional formulation for different types of boundary conditions on the other face. The wedge material is assumed to be incompressible. An asymptotic solution is obtained for punches which are relatively distant from one another and from the edge of the wedge. For the case when the punches are arranged relatively close to the edge of the wedge (or reach the edge, the contact area is unknown) the numerical method of boundary integral equations is used. The mutual effect of the punches is estimated by means of calculations. The asymptotic solution of the generalized Galin problem, concerning the effect of a concentrated force applied on the edge of the three-dimensional wedge on the contact pressure distribution under a circular punch relatively far from the edge, is obtained.  相似文献

The three-dimensional contact problem for an elastic body of arbitrary geometry with a single plane face, into which a punch in the shape of an elliptic paraboloid is indented, is considered. The curvilinear boundary of the body is partially clamped, and the remaining boundary (outside the contact region) is stress-free. It is assumed that the dimensions of the contact area are small compared with the characteristic dimension of the body. Using the method of matched asymptotic expansions a model problem of unilateral contact without friction is derived for the boundary layer, which is solved using the apparatus of Hertz's theory. Asymptotic models of the contact interaction of different degrees of accuracy are constructed, including corrections to the geometry and clamping conditions of the elastic body. The sensitivity of the parameters of the elliptic region of the contact to these factors is investigated.  相似文献
