One—Pot Synthese of 3,4—Dihydropyrimidine—2（1H）—thiones Catalyzed by La（OTf）3

A general and practical procedure for the syntheses of 3,4-di-hydropyrimidine-2(1H)-thiones by a one-pot condensation of aldehyde,β-ketoester or β-diketone and thiourea using La(OTf)3 as the catalyst is described.Mild reaction conditions,excellent yields as well as the environmentally friendly character of La(OTf)3 make it an important alternative to the classic acid-catalyzed Biginelli‘s reaction.     

SYNTHESIS AND REACTIONS OF BIS（β—ALKOXY—ETHYL CYCLOPENTADIENYL）TITANOUM（ZIRCONIUM）DICHLORIDES

Bis(β-alkoxy-ethyl cyclopentadienyl) titanium (zirconium) dichlorides was newly synthe-sized,and through interfacial polycondensation of bis(β-alkoxy-ethyl cyclopentadienyl) titanium dichlorides with diacids,diphenols,and hydroxy-acids,a series of new titanium polymers were prepared.The polymers obtained are yellow in color,having mol. wts between 10^3-10^6.They possess heat-resistant properties and show better solubilities that Carraher′s series.Thus,TG/DTG determinations showed that while suffering initial loss of wts. at around 260℃-470℃,they remain stable at 600-800℃.Residual wts.are around 50% of the initial at 947.5℃.They are soluble in glacial acetic acid,DMAC,DMF,and DMSO.     

Synthesis and Biological Activities of 3—（2—Furyl）—4—aryl—1,2,4—triazole—5—thiones

A series of novel compounds 3-(2-furyl)-4-aryl-1,2,4-triazole-5-thiones have been synthesized.All the compounds were characterized by spectral data and elemental analysis. The preliminary biological test showed that some of them exhibited excellent plant-growth regulative activities.     

A Practical Synthesis of （S）—（＋）—2—（6′—methoxyl—2—naphthyl） propionic Acid

A simplified procedure for enantioselective synthesis of (S)-( )-2-(6′-methoxyl-2-naphthyl)propionic acid ((S)-( )-naproxen), starting from (6-methoxy-α-naphthyl)-1-propanone,with D-mannitol as auxiliary catalyzed by SmCl3 in one-pot is described. The yield is 87.5%(ee value 99%).     

Sol—Gel Derived Carbon Ceramic Electrode Bulk—Modified with Tris（1,10—phenanthroline—5,6—dione） iron （Ⅱ）Hexafluorophosphate and Its Use as an Amperometric Iodate Sensor

A surface‐renewable tris(1, 10‐phenanthroline‐5, 6‐dione) iron (D) hexafluorophosphate (FePD) modified carbon ceramic electrode was constructed by dispersing FePD and graphite powder in methyltrimethoxysilane (MTMOS) based gels. The FePD‐modified electrode presented pH‐dependent voltammetric behavior, and its peak currents were diffusion‐controlled in 0.1 mol/L Na₂SO₄ + H₂SO₄ solution (pH = 0.4). In the presence of iodate, dear electrocatalytic reduction waves were observed and thus the chemically modified electrode was used as an amperometric sensor for iodate in common salt. The linear range, sensitivity, detection limit and response time of the iodate sensor were 5 × 10^?6–1 × 10^?2 mol/L, 7.448 μA·L/ mmol, 1.2 × 10^?6 mol/L and 5 s, respectively. A distinct advantage of this sensor is its good reproducibility of surface‐renewal by simple mechanical polishing.     

Crystal Structure of 2—[（P,P—Diphenoxy）phosphono（p—methyl）benzyl]—1,2—

The crystal structure of the title compound 2-[(P, P-Diphenoxy)phosphono(p-methyl)benzyl]-1, 2-benzisoselenazol-3(2H)-one, C27H22NO4PSe, was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallizes in the triclinic system, space group P(No. 2) with Mr=534.41, a=9.761(2), b=10.304(2), c=13.396(3), α=110.97(3), β=107.70(3). γ=90.02(3)°, V=1190(1) 3, Z=2, Dx=1.492 g/cm3, λ=0.71073, μ=1.6596 mm-1 and F(000)=544. The structure was solved by direct methods. The final R factor is 0.068 and Rw is 0.074 for 2500 unique observed reflections [I≥3σ(I)]. The results presented herein indicate that the selenium-containing bicyclic moiety is a coplanar structure and that two adjacent molecules are symmetrically linked to each other forming a dimer through the Se(1c)...O=P(1) bonding interaction with an intermolecular Se(1c)...O distance of 2.797 .
