The Michel parameters of the leptonic decays are measured using the OPAL detector at LEP. The parameters , , (with ) and are extracted from the energy spectra of the charged decay leptons and from their energy–energy correlations. A new method
involving a global likelihood fit of Monte Carlo generated events with complete detector simulation and background treatment
has been applied to the data recorded at center-of-mass energies close to corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 155 pb. If e- universality is assumed and inferring the polarization from neutral current data, the measured Michel parameters are: where the value of has been constrained using the published OPAL measurements of the leptonic branching ratios and the lifetime. Limits on non-standard coupling constants and on the masses of new gauge bosons are obtained. The results are in
agreement with the V–A prediction of the Standard Model.

The partial width of the τ → e - v e v τ can be calculated from the tau mass, lifetime and branching ratio. The increasing precision on these measurements is making the partial width sensitive to the mass of the tau neutrino. We present the tau neutrino mass dependence on the partial width and show that this leads to a limit of m r < 71 MeV at the 95% confidence level. We show that the limit is determined by the uncertainty in the tau lifetime and τ → e?v e v τ branching ratio. Additional measurements of these values are expected in the next few years and we show that the limit could become competitive with the direct measurements. 相似文献

The one-loop contributions to the branching ratios for leptonic
decays are calculated in the CP-conserving 2HDM(II). The analysis is focused on large
enhanced contributions. We found that these contributions, involving loops with both neutral and charged Higgs bosons, dominate
over the tree-level
exchange, the latter one being totally negligible for the decay into e. We derive a simple analytical expression for the one-loop contribution which holds in the large
case. We show that the leptonic branching ratios of
are complementary to the Higgsstrahlung processes for h(H) and have a large potential in constraining the parameters of the model. In this work we provide upper limits on the Yukawa
couplings for both light h and light A scenarios, and we derive a new lower limit on the mass of
as a function of
which differs significantly from what was considered as a standard constraint based on the tree-level

The 3S-1S mass separations of the bound quark-antiquark systems, as arising from one-gluon exchange, in the charm color quartet scheme, are discussed for the ground mesons and their first radial excitations expecially in connection to leptonic decay rates. Overall consistency requires large modifications for the positronium-like formulae for annihilation and the possible role in this direction of an outstanding gluon radiative correction to the leptonic width is pointed out. 相似文献

Cross-sections for hadronic, and lepton pair final states in collisions at =183 GeV, measured with the OPAL detector at LEP, are presented and compared with the predictions of the Standard Model. Forward-backward
asymmetries for the leptonic final states have also been measured. Cross-sections and asymmetries are also presented for data
recorded in 1997 at =130 and 136 GeV. The results are used to measure the energy dependence of the electromagnetic coupling constant , and to place limits on new physics as described by four-fermion contact interactions or by the exchange of a new heavy particle
such as a leptoquark, or of a squark or sneutrino in supersymmetric theories with R-parity violation.

It is well recognized that looking for new physics at lower energy colliders is a path which is complementary to high energy machines such as the LHC.Using the large volume of data collected by BESIII,we may have a unique opportunity to tackle this.In this paper we calculate the branching ratios of the semi-leptonic processes D_s~+ →K~+e~-e~+ and D_s~+ →K~+e~-μ~+,and the leptonic processes D~0→ e~-e~+ and D~0→ e~-μ~+,in the frameworks of the U(1) model,2HDM and unparticle model.It is found that both the U(1) model and 2HDM may influence the semi-leptonic decay rates,but only the U(1) model offers substantial contributions to the pure leptonic decays,and the resultant branching ratio of D~0→e~-μ~+ can be as large as 10~(-7)~10~(-8).This might be observed at the future super τ-charm factory. 相似文献

The measured rate for D{s}{+}-->l+nu decays, where l is a muon or tau, is larger than the standard model prediction, which relies on lattice QCD, at the 3.8sigma level.
