Relativistic effects in quarkonia decays with axion production

In the framework of the potential approach it is shown that relativistic effects connected with the relative motion of quarks in quarkonia lead to a strong decrease in the values of the ratios Br(ψ→aγ)/Br(ψ→μ⁺μ⁻) and B Br(ϒ→aγ)/Br(ϒ→μ⁺μ⁻), predicted by the nonrelativistic quark model. This does not allow to exclude already unambiguously the existence of a long-lived axion on the basis of available experimental data on these decays.     

Double production of vector quarkonia in exclusive Higgs boson decays

Partial widths with respect to the exclusive decays of Standard Model Higgs bosons to pairs of vector quarkonia, H → J/ψJ/ψ, H → YY, H → J/ψϕ, and H → J/ψY, were calculated with allowance for relativistic corrections associated with the internal motion of quarks in qarkonia.     

Single eta production in heavy quarkonia: Breakdown of multipole expansion

The η   production in the (n,n^′)$(n,n^{\prime })$ bottomonium transitions ?(n)→?(n^′)η$?(n)\to ?(n^{\prime })\eta$, is studied in the method used before for dipion heavy quarkonia transitions. The widths Γη(n,n^′)${\Gamma }_{\eta }(n,n^{\prime })$ are calculated without fitting parameters for n=2,3,4,5$n=2,3,4,5$, n^′=1$n^{\prime }=1$. Resulting Γη(4,1)${\Gamma }_{\eta }(4,1)$ is found to be large in agreement with recent data. Multipole expansion method is shown to be inadequate for large size systems considered.     

Gluon jets from quarkonia

A detailed analysis is made within perturbative QCD of the decays into gluon jets of P-wave and S-wave quarkonia (J^PC = 0⁺⁺, 1⁺⁺, 2⁺⁺, 1^+? and 0^?+, 1^??). For all those states we compute to leading non-trivial order in α_s the conventional fraction f(?, δ) of the jet-like hadronic final states, characterized by the back-to-back cone of half angle δ, in which all but a small fraction ? of the total energy is emitted. To the same order we give also the average values of thrust momenta and spherocity distributions.     

Potential models for quarkonia

In this paper I discuss what we can learn about quarkonium dissociation from lattice-potential based models. Special emphasis is given to results obtained in agreement by different models, and to the relevance of lattice QCD for potential models. Future directions are also discussed.     

Direct decays of heavy quarkonia

The branching ratios are evaluated of the ψ (3770) and (4S) decays into ππ, , ωπ⁰, ωη, ωη ′, π, η, η′, , . They arise due to the transition through the real intermediate states and , respectively. It is shown that some branching ratios exceed the three-gluon one by an order of magnitude. The rates of the decays ,

and are evaluated also. τ-C and B factories coul be good tools for studying all decays mentioned.     

Radiative corrections in heavy quarkonia

We investigate radiative corrections in heavy quarkonia and calculate relativistic corrections which are not taken into account in earlier papers. It appears that these terms cannot be neglected as compared to the usually calculated radiative corrections and lead to a considerable contribution to the level splittings.     

Heavy quarkonia and asymptotic freedom

We use semiclassical methods to discuss the scaling behaviour of quarkonium level splittings up to $\text{M(}\text{Q}\text{Q}\text{) = 200}\text{GeV}$. Special emphasis is laid on the effects of asymptotic freedom which are found to be essential for $\text{M(}\text{Q}\text{Q}\text{) ? 30}\text{GeV}$. The bound t$\text{t}$ system will almost look like the ? system except that $\text{R = ΔM (}{}^3\text{P}{}_2\text{?}{}^3\text{P}{}_1\text{)/ΔM(}{}^3\text{P}{}_1\text{?}{}^3\text{P}{}_0\text{)}$ is larger than 0.8. In the ? system R will already be close to 0.8.     

Hadronic decays of excited heavy quarkonia

We construct an effective Lagrangian for the hadronic decays of a heavy excited s-wave-spin-one quarkonium Ψ′ into a lower s-wave-spin-one state Ψ. We show that reasonable fits to the measured invariant mass spectra in the charmonium and bottomonium systems can be obtained within this framework. The mass dependence of the various terms in the Lagrangian is discussed on the basis of a quark model.
