Cellulose fibers were isolated from a kenaf bast fiber using a electron beam irradiation (EBI) treatment. The methods of isolation were based on a hot water treatment after EBI and two-step bleaching processes. FT-IR spectroscopy demonstrated that the content of lignin and hemicellulose in the bleached cellulose fibers treated with various EBI doses decreased with increasing doses of EBI. Specifically, the lignin in the bleached cellulose fibers treated at 300 kGy, was almost completely removed. Moreover, XRD analyses showed that the bleached cellulose fibers treated at 300 kGy presented the highest crystallinity of all the samples treated with EBI. Finally, the morphology of the bleached fiber was characterized by SEM imagery, and the studies showed that the separated degree of bleached cellulose fibers treated with various EBI doses increased with an increase of EBI dose, and the bleached cellulose fibers obtained by EBI treatment at 300 kGy was separated more uniformly than the bleached cellulose fiber obtained by alkali cooking with non-irradiated kenaf fiber.  相似文献

Electron beam irradiation (EBI) can degrade lignocellulosic materials and thus be used as a pretreatment method for efficient enzymatic hydrolysis. This research is mainly concerned with the degradation of cellulose and hemicelluloses when bamboo chips are exposed to various doses of EBI. The results show that cellulose degradation occurred continuously but without a gradual drop of the crystalline index with irradiation dose ranging from 0 to 50 kGy; meanwhile, no significant changes were observed in the molecular weight of hemicelluloses. An obvious relationship was found between irradiation dose and cellulose degradation, which could be used to control cellulose degradation by adjusting the EBI dose. Furthermore, the difficulty of cellulose depolymerization [G(s)] in bamboo chips by exposure to EBI was calculated as 0.052 µmol/J.  相似文献

The reactions of three types of group 4 metal olefin polymerization catalysts, (C(5)R(5))(2)ZrX(2)/activator, (C(5)Me(5))TiX(3)/MAO (MAO = methylalumoxane), and (C(5)Me(4)SiMe(2)N(t)Bu)MX(2)/activator (M = Ti, Zr), with vinyl chloride (VC) and VC/propylene mixtures have been investigated. Two general pathways are observed: (i) radical polymerization of VC initiated by radicals derived from the catalyst and (ii) net 1,2 VC insertion into L(n)MR(+) species followed by beta-Cl elimination. rac-(EBI)ZrMe(mu-Me)B(C(6)F(5))(3) (EBI = 1,2-ethylenebis(indenyl)) reacts with 2 equiv of VC to yield oligopropylene, rac-(EBI)ZrCl(2), and B(C(6)F(5))(3). This reaction proceeds by net 1,2 VC insertion into rac-(EBI)ZrMe(+) followed by fast beta-Cl elimination to yield [rac-(EBI)ZrCl][MeB(C(6)F(5))(3)] and propylene. Methylation of rac-(EBI)ZrCl(+) by MeB(C(6)F(5))(3)(-) enables a second VC insertion/beta-Cl elimination to occur. The evolved propylene is oligomerized by rac-(EBI)ZrR(+) as it is formed. At high Al/Zr ratios, rac-(EBI)ZrMe(2)/MAO catalytically converts VC to oligopropylene by 1,2 VC insertion into rac-(EBI)ZrMe(+), beta-Cl elimination, and realkylation of rac-(EBI)ZrCl(+) by MAO; this process is stoichiometric in Al-Me groups. The evolved propylene is oligomerized by rac-(EBI)ZrR(+). Oligopropylene end group analysis shows that the predominant chain transfer mechanism is VC insertion/beta-Cl elimination/realkylation. In the presence of trace levels of O(2), rac-(EBI)ZrMe(2)/MAO polymerizes VC to poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) by a radical mechanism initiated by radicals generated by autoxidation of Zr-R and/or Al-R species. CpTiX(3)/MAO (Cp = C(5)Me(5); X = OMe, Cl) initiates radical polymerization of VC in CH(2)Cl(2) solvent at low Al/Ti ratios under anaerobic conditions; in this case, the source of initiating radicals is unknown. Radical VC polymerization can be identified by the presence of terminal and internal allylic chloride units and other "radical defects" in the PVC which arise from the characteristic chemistry of PCH(2)CHCl(*) macroradicals. However, this test must be used with caution, since the defect units can be consumed by postpolymerization reactions with MAO. (C(5)Me(4)SiMe(2)N(t)Bu)MMe(2)/[Ph(3)C]][B(C(6)F(5))(4)] catalysts (M = Ti, Zr) react with VC by net 1,2 insertion/beta-Cl elimination, yielding [(C(5)Me(4)SiMe(2)N(t)Bu)MCl][B(C(6)F(5))(4)] species which can be trapped as (C(5)Me(4)SiMe(2)N(t)Bu)MCl(2) by addition of a chloride source. The reaction of rac-(EBI)ZrMe(2)/MAO or [(C(5)Me(4)SiMe(2)N(t)Bu)ZrMe][B(C(6)F(5))(4)] with propylene/VC mixtures yields polypropylene containing both allylic and vinylidene unsaturated chain ends rather than strictly vinylidene chain ends, as observed in propylene homopolymerization. These results show that the VC insertion of L(n)M(CH(2)CHMe)(n)R(+) species is also followed by beta-Cl elimination, which terminates chain growth and precludes propylene/VC copolymerization. Termination of chain growth by beta-Cl elimination is the most significant obstacle to metal-catalyzed insertion polymerization/copolymerization of VC.  相似文献

The reaction of the chiral chelated bis-amide complex Zr{(2R,4R)-PhNCHMeCH2CHMeNPh}Cl2(THF)2 (R,R-7) with lithium ansa-bis-indenyl reagents Li2[SBI](Et2O) (8a, SBI = (1-indenyl)2SiMe2) or Li2[EBI](Et2O) (8b, EBI = 1,2-(1-indenyl)2ethane) in THF affords the corresponding ansa-zirconocenes S,S-(SBI)Zr{(2R,4R)-PhNCHMeCH2CHMeNPh} (S,S,R,R-9a) or S,S-(EBI)Zr{(2R,4R)-PhNCHMeCH2CHMeNPh} (S,S,R,R-9b) in >95% isolated yield and >99% enantiomeric excess. Compound 9b was converted to the corresponding enantiomerically pure dichloride S,S-(EBI)ZrCl2 (S,S-10b) in 91% isolated yield by reaction with HCl in Et2O. The chiral diamine (2R,4R)-HPhNCHMeCH2CHMeNHPh (R,R-5) was recovered from this reaction.  相似文献

The synthesis, structural characterization, and abstraction chemistry of ansa-zirconocene ester enolate complexes relevant to the isospecific polymerization of methacrylates are reported. Reactions of rac-(EBI)ZrMe(OTf) and rac-(EBI)Zr(OTf)(2) [EBI = C(2)H(4)(Ind)(2)] with 1 and 2 equiv of lithium isopropylisobutyrate in toluene produce the first examples of ansa-zirconocene mono- and diester enolate complexes: rac-(EBI)ZrMe[OC(O(i)Pr)=CMe(2)] (1) and rac-(EBI)Zr[OC(O(i)Pr)=CMe(2)](2) (2) in 89% and 50% isolated yields, respectively. The reaction of 1 with B(C(6)F(5))(3) was investigated in six different organic solvents; in THF at ambient temperature, this reaction cleanly produces the isolable cationic ansa-zirconocene ester enolate complex rac-(EBI)Zr(+)(THF)[OC(O(i)Pr)=CMe(2)][MeB(C(6)F(5))(3)](-) (3) in quantitative yield. The analogous reaction of 1 with Al(C(6)F(5))(3) in toluene, however, proceeds through a proposed novel, intramolecular proton transfer process in which propylene is eliminated from the isopropoxy group, subsequently producing a carboxylate-bridged tight ion pair rac-(EBI)Zr(+)(Me)OC((i)Pr)OAl(C(6)F(5))(3)(-) (4). In addition to standard spectroscopic and analytical characterizations for the isolated complexes 1-4, complexes 2 and 4 have also been structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction studies. Polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) and n-butyl methacrylate (BMA) has been investigated using complexes 1, 3, and 4. Both the isolated cationic 3 and neutral 1 (the latter combined with B(C(6)F(5))(3) in situ) are highly active (10 min for quantitative MMA conversion) and highly isospecific ([mm] > 95% for PMMA; [mm] > 99% for PBMA) via enantiomorphic-site control, producing polymethacrylates with extremely narrow molecular weight distributions (M(w)/M(n) = 1.03). The aluminate complex 4, however, produces syndiotactic PMMA predominantly via chain-end control.  相似文献

The synthesis and structural characterization of the novel homoleptic cluster complexes [Pd2(GaCp*)2(mu2-GaCp*)3] (1c), [Pd3(GaCp*)4(mu2-GaCp*)4] (2b) and [Pd3(AlCp*)2(mu2-AlCp*)2(mu3-AlCp*)2] (3) (Cp*=C5Me5) are presented. Furthermore, ligand exchange reactions of these cluster complexes are explored. In contrast to the electronically and sterically saturated complexes [M(ECp*)4] (M=Ni, Pd, Pt), the new unsaturated analogues [M(a)(ER)b] (E=Al, Ga, In) react with a variety of typical ligands (Cp*Al, CO, phosphines, isonitriles) to give new di- and tri-substituted compounds like [Pt2(GaCp*)2(mu2-AlCp*)3] (1d), [PdPt(GaCp*)(PPh3)(mu2-GaCp*)3] (4b), or [Pd3(PPh3)3(mu2-InCp*)(mu3-InCp*)2] (8). The trends of the reactivity of [M(a)(ER)b] as well as their fluxional behavior in solution has been elucidated by NMR spectroscopy, resulting in a mechanistic rationale for the ligand exchange reactions as well as the fluxional processes.  相似文献

A novel degradation study of prednisone (PRE) in aqueous systems (10 mg L?1) was performed under electron beam irradiation (EBI) in various conditions. The data demonstrate that the highest degradation caused by EBI was obtained with the oxidation of hydroxyl radicals. The proper amount of hydrogen peroxide could increase the PRE total carbon content removal rate. Nine degradation products of PRE in aqueous solution were preliminarily analyzed using ultra-high performance liquid chromatography in combination with mass spectrometry. Furthermore, the chemical analysis and possible degradation pathway were proposed with the assistance of theoretical calculation results by density functional theory.  相似文献

Disodium ethylene-bis-hexamethylindenyl, {(C9Me6)2C2H4}Na2 (EBI1Na2), has been prepared in good yield by the reaction of lithium heptamethylindenyl with cyanogen bromide followed by treatment with sodium naphthalenide. EBI1Na2 reacts with anhydrous Co(acac)2 to give a mixture of rac and meso-ethylene-bis-hexamethylindenyl cobalt(II) (EBI1Co). The isomers can be separated by fractional crystallisation and the rac-isomer has been structurally characterised. Oxidation of the reaction mixture yields both rac and meso-ethylene-bis-hexamethylindenyl cobalt(III) which have both been structurally characterised.  相似文献

Quantum-chemical calculations of ground and excited states for membrane fluorescent probe 4-dimethylaminochalcone (DMAC) in vacuum were performed. Optimized geometries and dipole moments for lowest-lying singlet and triplet states were obtained. The nature of these electronic transitions and the relaxation path in the excited states were determined; changes in geometry and charge distribution were assessed. It was shown that in vacuum the lowest existed level is of (n, π*) nature, and the closest to it is the level of (π, π*) nature; the energy gap between them is narrow. This led to an effective (1)(π, π*) →(1)(n, π*) relaxation. After photoexcitation the molecule undergoes significant transformations, including changes in bond orders, pyramidalization angle of the dimethylamino group, and planarity of the molecule. Its dipole moment rises from 5.5 Debye in the ground state to 17.1 Debye in the (1)(π, π*) state, and then falls to 2 Debye in the (1)(n, π*) state. The excited (1)(n, π*) state is a short living state; it has a high probability of intersystem crossing into the (3)(π, π*) triplet state. This relaxation path explains the low quantum yield of DMAC fluorescence in non-polar media. It is possible that (3)(π, π*) is responsible for observed DMAC phosphorescence.  相似文献

We propose a theory of electron localization or stabilization by electron localization through the interactions between occupied (i) and vacant (j*) orbitals under certain conditions, which have been believed so far to cause only electron delocalization. Electrons localize when the electrons redistributed by the interaction are more stable in the i-th occupied orbital than in the overlap region: h(ij*) > s(ij*)h(ii) for s(ij*) > 0. Electron delocalization occurs when h(ij*) < s(ij*)h(ii) for s(ij*) > 0. The h(ij*) and s(ij*)h(ii) terms represent the energy of the electrons in the overlap region and the energy of the redistributed electrons in the occupied orbital, respectively. The theory of electron localization is substantiated by the correlation of the C-H bond lengths of fluorinated methanes H(4-n)CF(n) (n = 1, 2, 3) to the electron population of the σ(CH) bonding orbital, and successfully applied to understanding blue-shifting hydrogen bonds in F(3)CH···X (X = CO, N(2), OC, Ne, OC(CH(3))(2)) and designing some proton donors, HCO(2)CH(3) and hypervalent molecules HPF(4) and HSF(5), for blue-shifting hydrogen bonds.  相似文献

The photodissociation dynamics of allyl bromide was investigated at 234, 265, and 267 nm. A two-dimensional photofragment ion velocity imaging technique coupled with a [2+1] resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionization scheme was utilized to obtain the angular and translational energy distributions of the nascent Br* (2P1/2) and Br (2P3/2) atoms. The Br fragments show a bimodal translational energy distribution, while the Br* fragments reveal one translational energy distribution. The vertical excited energies and the mixed electronic character of excited states were calculated at ab initio configuration interaction method. It is presumed that the high kinetic energy bromine atoms are attributed to the predissociation from 1(pipi*) or 1(pisigma*) state to the repulsive 1(nsigma*) state, and to the direct dissociation from 3(nsigma*) and 3(pisigma*) states, while the low kinetic energy bromine atoms stem from internal conversion from the lowest 3(pipi*) state to 3(pisigma*) state.  相似文献

Invisible energy levels of the T1(pi, pi*) state of p-methoxybenzaldehyde (anisaldehyde) and p-cyanobenzaldehyde vapors have been estimated through the temperature dependence of the T2(n, pi*) --> S0 phosphorescence and the S1(n, pi*) --> S0 delayed fluorescence spectra. It is shown that the T1(pi, pi*) levels are located at 900 +/- 100 and 300 +/- 100 cm(-1) below the T2(n, pi*) levels, respectively, for p-methoxybenzaldehyde and p-cyanobenzaldehyde vapors. The estimated T1 energy levels are in good agreement with the phosphorescence origins in rigid glass at 77 K.  相似文献

From the precipitation borderline in the pM'-pC(H) diagram, determined experimentally under CO(2)-free conditions, stability constants for the mononuclear species of erbium hydroxide have been established. The values found were log ( *)beta(1) = -6.3, log ( *)beta(2) = -14.5, log ( *)beta(3) = -23.1, log ( *)beta(4) = -36.8 and log ( *)K(0) = 18.0. The data refer to precipitates prepared at room temperature (21.5 +/- 0.5 degrees ) in sodium perchlorate medium with an ionic strength of 1. The formation of polynuclear hydroxide complexes has been considered and rejected as unlikely to occur.  相似文献

The two components of the dual phosphorescence of 1-indanone ( 1 ) and six related ketones ( 2–7 ) possess different excitation spectra exhibiting the vibrational progression characteristic of the S0 → S1 (n, π*) transition (shorter-lived emission) and two bands of the S0 → S2 and 3 (π,π*) 0–0 transitions, respectively. The most favorable intersystem crossing routes are S1 (n, π*) → T (n, π*) and S2,3 (π*) → T (π, π*). Internal conversion to S1 competes more effectively with S (π, π*) → T (π, π*) intersystem crossing only from higher vibrational levels of the S2 and S3 states.  相似文献

Paramagnetic diazabutadienegallium(II or III) complexes, [(Ar-DAB)2Ga] and [{(Ar-DAB*)GaX}2] (X = Br or I; Ar-DAB = {N(Ar)C(H)}2, Ar = 2,6-diisopropylphenyl), have been prepared by reactions of an anionic gallium N-heterocyclic carbene analogue, [K(tmeda)][:Ga(Ar-DAB)], with either "GaI" or [MoBr2(CO)2(PPh3)2]. A related InIII complex, [(Ar-DAB*)InCl2(thf)], has also been prepared. These compounds were characterised by X-ray crystallography and EPR/ENDOR spectroscopy. The EPR spectra of all metal(III) complexes incorporating the Ar-DAB ligand, [(Ar-DAB(.))MX(2)(thf)(n)] (M = Al, Ga or In; X = Cl or I; n = 0 or 1) and [(Ar-DAB)2Ga], confirmed that the unpaired spin density is primarily ligand centred, with weak hyperfine couplings to Al (a = 2.85 G), Ga (a = 17-25 G) or In (a = 26.1 G) nuclei. Changing the N substituents of the diazabutadiene ligand to tert-butyl groups in the gallium complex, [(tBu-DAB*)GaI2] (tBu-DAB={N(tBu)C(H)}2), changes the unpaired electron spin distribution producing 1H and 14N couplings of 1.4 G and 8.62 G, while the aryl-substituted complex, [(Ar-DAB*)GaI2], produces couplings of about 5.0 G. These variations were also manifested in the gallium couplings, namely aGa approximately 1.4 G for [(tBu-DAB*)GaI2] and aGa approximately 25 G for [(Ar-DAB*)GaI2]. The EPR spectra of the gallium(II) and indium(II) diradical complexes, [{(Ar-DAB*)GaBr}2], [{(Ar-DAB*)GaI}2], [{(tBu-DAB*)GaI}2] and [{(Ar-DAB*)InCl}2], revealed doublet ground states, indicating that the Ga-Ga and In-In bonds prevent dipole-dipole coupling of the two unpaired electrons. The EPR spectrum of the previously reported complex, [(Ar-BIAN*)GaI2] (Ar-BIAN = bis(2,6-diisopropylphenylimino)acenaphthene) is also described. The hyperfine tensors for the imine protons, and the aryl and tert-butyl protons were obtained by ENDOR spectroscopy. In [(Ar-DAB*)GaI2], gallium hyperfine and quadrupolar couplings were detected for the first time.  相似文献

The well-known benzophenone intersystem crossing from S(1)(n,pi*) to T(1)(n,pi*) states, for which direct transition is forbidden by El-Sayed rules, is reinvestigated by subpicosecond time-resolved absorption spectroscopy and effective data analysis for various excitation wavelengths and solvents. Multivariate curve resolution alternating least-squares analysis is used to perform bilinear decomposition of the time-resolved spectra into pure spectra of overlapping transient species and their associated time-dependent concentrations. The results suggest the implication of an intermediate (IS) in the relaxation process of the S(1) state. Therefore, a two step kinetic model, S(1) --> IS --> T(1), is successfully implemented as an additional constraint in the soft-modeling algorithm. Although this intermediate, which has a spectrum similar to the one of T(1)(n,pi*) state, could be artificially induced by vibrational relaxation, it is tentatively assigned to a hot T(1)(n,pi*) triplet state. Two characteristic times are reported for the transition S(1) --> IS and IS --> T(1), approximately 6.5 ps and approximately 10 ps respectively, without any influence of the solvent. Moreover, an excitation wavelength effect is discovered suggesting the participation of unrelaxed singlet states in the overall process. To go further discussing the spectroscopic relevancy of IS and to rationalize the expected involvement of the T(2)(pi,pi*) state, we also investigate 4-methoxybenzophenone. For this neighboring molecule, triplet energy level is tunable through solvent polarity and a clear correlation is established between the intermediate resolved by multivariate data analysis and the presence of a T(2)(pi,pi*) above the T(1)(n,pi*) triplet. It is therefore proposed that the benzophenone intermediate species is a T(1)(n,pi*) high vibrational level in interaction with T(2)(pi,pi*) state.  相似文献

Diastereomeric meso- and d,l-bis(bicyclopropylidenyl) (5) were obtained upon oxidation with oxygen of a higher-order cuprate generated from lithiobicyclopropylidene (4) in 50 and 31 % yield, respectively. Their perdeuterated analogues meso-[D(14)]- and d,l-[D(14)]-5 were obtained along the same route from perdeuterated bicyclopropylidene [D(8)]-3 (synthesized in six steps in 7.4 % overall yield from [D(8)]-THF) in 20.5 % yield each. Dehalogenative coupling of 1,1-dibromo-2-cyclopropylcyclopropane (6) gave a mixture of all possible stereoisomers of 1,5-dicyclopropylbicyclopropylidene 16 in 69 % yield, from which (Z)-cis-16 was separated by preparative gas chromatography (26 % yield). The crystal structure of meso-5 looks like a superposition of the crystal structures of two outer bicyclopropylidene units (3) and one inner s-trans-bicyclopropyl unit, whereas the two outer cyclopropyl moieties adopt a gauche orientation with respect to the cyclopropane rings at the inner bicyclopropylidene units in (Z)-cis-16. Birch reduction with lithium in liquid ammonia of meso-5 and d,l-5 gave two pairs of diastereomeric quatercyclopropanes trans,trans-(R*,S*,R*, S*)-17/cis,trans-(R*,S*,R*,R*)-18 and trans,trans-(R*,S*,S*,R*)-19/cis,trans-(R*,S*,S*,S*)-20 in 97 and 76 % yield, respectively, in a ratio 9:1 for every pair. The latter diastereomer was also obtained as the sole product by Birch reduction of (Z)-cis-16 in 96 % yield. Under the same conditions, tetradecadeuterio analogues trans,trans-[D(14)]-(R*,S*,R*,S*)-17/cis,trans-[D(14)]-(R*, S*,R*,R*)-18 (8:1) and trans,trans-[D(14)]-(R*,S*,S*,R*)-19/cis,trans-[D(14)]-(R*,S*,S*,S*)-20 (12:1) were prepared from meso-[D(14)]-5 and d,l-[D(14)]-5 in 37 and 63 % yield, respectively. Reduction of meso-5 with diimine gave the cis,cis-quatercyclopropane (S*,S*,R*,R*)-21 as the main product (58 % yield) along with the cis,trans-diastereomer (S*,S*,R*,S*)-18 (29 % yield). Thus, five of the six possible diastereomeric quatercyclopropanes were obtained from meso-5, d,l-5, and (Z)-cis-16. The X-ray crystal structure analyses of trans,trans-(R*,S*,R*,S*)-17 and cis,cis-(S*,S*,R*,R*)-21 revealed for the both an unusual conformation in which the central bicyclopropyl unit adopts an s-trans-(antiperiplanar) orientation with phi=180.0 degrees , and the two terminal bicyclopropyl moieties adopt a synclinal conformation with phi=49.8 and 72.0 degrees , respectively. In solution the vicinal coupling constants (3)J(H,H) in trans,trans-(R*,S*,R*,S*)-[D(14)]-17, trans,trans-(R*,S*,S*,R*)-[D(14)]-19, trans,cis-(R*,S*,R*,R*)-[D(14)]-18 and trans,cis-(R*,S*,S*,S*)-[D(14)]-20 were found to be 4.1, 4.7, 5.9 and 5.9 Hz, respectively. This indicates a predominance of the all-gauche conformer in (R*,S*,R*,S*)-17 and a decreasing fraction of it in this sequence of the other diastereomers.  相似文献

The photophysics and morphology of thin films of N,N-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)perylene-3,4:9,10-bis(dicarboximide) (1) and the 1,7-diphenyl (2) and 1,7-bis(3,5-di-tert-butylphenyl) (3) derivatives blended with 6,13-bis(triisopropylsilylethynyl)pentacene (TIPS-Pn) were studied for their potential use as photoactive layers in organic photovoltaic (OPV) devices. Increasing the steric bulk of the 1,7-substituents of the perylene-3,4:9,10-bis(dicarboximide) (PDI) impedes aggregation in the solid state. Film characterization data using both atomic force microscopy and X-ray diffraction showed that decreasing the PDI aggregation by increasing the steric bulk in the order 1 < 2 < 3 correlates with a decrease in the density/size of crystalline TIPS-Pn domains. Transient absorption spectroscopy was performed on ~100 nm solution-processed TIPS-Pn:PDI blend films to characterize the charge separation dynamics. These results showed that selective excitation of the TIPS-Pn results in competition between ultrafast singlet fission ((1*)TIPS-Pn + TIPS-Pn → 2 (3*)TIPS-Pn) and charge transfer from (1*)TIPS-Pn to PDIs 1-3. As the blend films become more homogeneous across the series TIPS-Pn:PDI 1 → 2 → 3, charge separation becomes competitive with singlet fission. Ultrafast charge separation forms the geminate radical ion pair state (1)(TIPS-Pn(+?)-PDI(-?)) that undergoes radical pair intersystem crossing to form (3)(TIPS-Pn(+?)-PDI(-?)), which then undergoes charge recombination to yield either (3*)PDI or (3*)TIPS-Pn. Energy transfer from (3*)PDI to TIPS-Pn also yields (3*)TIPS-Pn. These results show that multiple pathways produce the (3*)TIPS-Pn state, so that OPV design strategies based on this system must utilize this triplet state for charge separation.  相似文献

Azobenzene E<==>Z photoisomerization, following excitation to the bright S(pi pi*) state, is investigated by means of ab initio CASSCF optimizations and perturbative CASPT2 corrections. Specifically, by elucidating the S(pi pi*) deactivation paths, we explain the mechanism responsible for azobenzene photoisomerization, the lower isomerization quantum yields observed for the S(pi pi*) excitation than for the S1(n pi*) excitation in the isolated molecule, and the recovery of the Kasha rule observed in sterically hindered azobenzenes. We find that a doubly excited state is a photoreaction intermediate that plays a very important role in the decay of the bright S(pi pi*). We show that this doubly excited state, which is immediately populated by molecules excited to S(pi pi*), drives the photoisomerization along the torsion path and also induces a fast internal conversion to the S1(n pi*) at a variety of geometries, thus shaping (all the most important features of) the S(pi pi*) decay pathway and photoreactivity. We reach this conclusion by determining the critical structures, the minimum energy paths originating on the bright S(pi pi*) state and on other relevant excited states including S1(n pi*), and by characterizing the conical intersection seams that are important in deciding the photochemical outcome. The model is consistent with the most recent time-resolved spectroscopic and photochemical data.  相似文献
