Algorithm for solving a new class of general mixed variational inequalities in Banach spaces

In this paper, a new concept of η-proximal mapping for a proper subdifferentiable functional (which may not be convex) on a Banach space is introduced. An existence and Lipschitz continuity of the η-proximal mapping are proved. By using properties of the η-proximal mapping, a new class of general mixed variational inequalities is introduced and studied in Banach spaces. An existence theorem of solutions is established and a new iterative algorithm for solving the general mixed variational inequality is suggested. A convergence criteria of the iterative sequence generated by the new algorithm is also given.     

The p-step iterative algorithm for a system of generalized mixed quasi-variational inclusions with -accretive operators in q-uniformly smooth banach spaces

In this paper, we introduce and study a new system of generalized mixed quasi-variational inclusions with (A,η)-accretive operators in q-uniformly smooth Banach spaces. By using the resolvent operator technique associated with (A,η)-accretive operators, we construct a new p-step iterative algorithm for solving this system of generalized mixed quasi-variational inclusions in real q-uniformly smooth Banach spaces. We also prove the existence of solutions for the generalized mixed quasi-variational inclusions and the convergence of iterative sequences generated by algorithm. Our results improve and generalize many known corresponding results.     

System of generalized variational inclusions with -accretive operators in uniformly smooth Banach spaces

In this paper, we consider and study a system of generalized variational inclusions with H-accretive operators in uniformly smooth Banach spaces. We prove the convergence of iterative algorithm for this system of generalized variational inclusions. A new definition of H-resolvent operator as a retraction is introduced, and in support of the definition, we have constructed an example and a numerical example through Matlab programming. Some special cases are also discussed.     

A new iterative method for equilibrium problems and fixed point problems of infinitely nonexpansive mappings and monotone mappings

In this paper, we introduce a new iterative scheme for finding the common element of the set of common fixed points of infinitely many nonexpansive mappings, the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem and the set of solutions of the variational inequality for α-inverse-strongly monotone mapping in Hilbert spaces. We prove that the sequence converges strongly to a common element of the above three sets under some parameters controlling conditions. This main result improve and extend Plubtieng and Punpaeng’s corresponding result [S. Plubtieng, R. Punpaeng, A new iterative method for equilibrium problems and fixed point problems of nonexpansive mappings and monotone mappings, Applied Mathematics and Computation 197 (2008), 548–558]. Using this theorem, we obtain three corollaries.     

Generalized -complementarity problems in Banach spaces

In this paper, a class of generalized f-complementarity problems and three classes of variational inequalities are introduced in real Banach spaces, and the equivalences among them are established under certain conditions. Several coercivity conditions are introduced for the existence of solutions of the generalized f-complementarity problem. Under some suitable assumptions, it is shown that each of these coercivity conditions is equivalent to the nonemptyness and boundedness of the solution set for the generalized f-complementarity problem in infinite-dimensional Banach spaces, and even the nonemptyness and compactness of the solution set for the generalized f-complementarity problem in finite-dimensional spaces. The existence of least elements for the feasible set of the generalized f-complementarity problem is also presented under suitable conditions.     

On the modulus of -convexity

In this paper, we prove that the moduli of W^*-convexity, introduced by Ji Gao [J. Gao, The W^*-convexity and normal structure in Banach spaces, Appl. Math. Lett. 17 (2004) 1381–1386], of a Banach space X and of the ultrapower of X itself coincide whenever X is super-reflexive. Moreover, we improve a sufficient condition for uniform normal structure of the space and its dual. This generalizes and strengthens the main results of [J. Gao, The W^*-convexity and normal structure in Banach spaces, Appl. Math. Lett. 17 (2004) 1381–1386].

The well-posedness and stability of a repairable standby human–machine system

In this paper, the solution of a standby human–machine system is investigated. By using the method of functional analysis, especially, the linear operator theory and the C₀ semigroup theory on Banach space, we prove the well-posedness and the existence of a positive solution of the system. And under some appropriate hypotheses, we study the asymptotic stability of solution of the system.     

A system of generalized variational inclusions involving generalized H(·, ·)-accretive mapping in real q-uniformly smooth Banach spaces

In this paper, we consider a class of accretive mappings called generalized H(·, ·)-accretive mappings in Banach spaces. We prove that the proximal-point mapping of the generalized H(·, ·)-accretive mapping is single-valued and Lipschitz continuous. Further, we consider a system of generalized variational inclusions involving generalized H(·, ·)-accretive mappings in real q-uniformly smooth Banach spaces. Using proximal-point mapping method, we prove the existence and uniqueness of solution and suggest an iterative algorithm for the system of generalized variational inclusions. Furthermore, we discuss the convergence criteria of the iterative algorithm under some suitable conditions. Our results can be viewed as a refinement and improvement of some known results in the literature.

We prove the existence of infinitely many non-negative solutions of the problem by applying a general variational principle due to B. Ricceri and the theory of the variable exponent Sobolev spaces.     

Stability for parametric implicit vector equilibrium problems

In this paper, we consider a class of parametric implicit vector equilibrium problems in Hausdorff topological vector spaces where a mapping f and a set K are perturbed by parameters and λ, respectively. We establish sufficient conditions for the upper semicontinuity and lower semicontinuity of the solution set mapping S:Λ₁×Λ₂→2^X for such parametric implicit vector equilibrium problems.     

Strong convergence theorems by hybrid method for asymptotically -strict pseudo-contractive mapping in Hilbert space

In this paper, we introduce the hybrid method of modified Mann’s iteration for an asymptotically k-strict pseudo-contractive mapping. Then we prove that such a sequence converges strongly to P_F(T)x₀. This main theorem improves the result of Issara Inchan [I. Inchan, Strong convergence theorems of modified Mann iteration methods for asymptotically nonexpansive mappings in Hilbert spaces, Int. J. Math. Anal. 2 (23) (2008) 1135–1145] and concerns the result of Takahashi et al. [W. Takahashi, Y. Takeuchi, R. Kubota, Strong convergence theorems by hybrid methods for families of nonexpansive mappings in Hilbert space, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 341 (2008) 276–286], and many others.     

On Banach spaces whose norm-open sets are -sets in the weak topology

We investigate non-separable Banach spaces whose norm-open sets are countable unions of sets closed in the weak topology and a narrower class of Banach spaces with a network for the norm topology which is σ-discrete in the weak topology. In particular, we answer a question of Arhangel'skii exhibiting various examples of non-separable function spaces C(K) with a σ-discrete network for the pointwise topology and (consistently) we answer some questions of Edgar and Oncina concerning Borel structures and Kadec renormings in Banach spaces.     

A projected subgradient method for solving generalized mixed variational inequalities

We consider the projected subgradient method for solving generalized mixed variational inequalities. In each step, we choose an ε_k-subgradient u^k of the function f and w^k in a set-valued mapping T, followed by an orthogonal projection onto the feasible set. We prove that the sequence is weakly convergent.     

Quantum -modules and generalized mirror transformations

In the previous paper [Hiroshi Iritani, Quantum D-modules and equivariant Floer theory for free loop spaces, Math. Z. 252 (3) (2006) 577–622], the author defined equivariant Floer cohomology for a complete intersection in a toric variety and showed that it is isomorphic to the small quantum D-module after a mirror transformation when the first Chern class c₁(M) of the tangent bundle is nef. In this paper, even when c₁(M) is not nef, we show that the equivariant Floer cohomology reconstructs the big quantum D-module under certain conditions on the ambient toric variety. The proof is based on a mirror theorem of Coates and Givental [T. Coates, A.B. Givental, Quantum Riemann — Roch, Lefschetz and Serre, Ann. of Math. (2) 165 (1) (2007) 15–53]. The reconstruction procedure here gives a generalized mirror transformation first observed by Jinzenji in low degrees [Masao Jinzenji, On the quantum cohomology rings of general type projective hypersurfaces and generalized mirror transformation, Internat. J. Modern Phys. A 15 (11) (2000) 1557–1595; Masao Jinzenji, Co-ordinate change of Gauss–Manin system and generalized mirror transformation, Internat. J. Modern Phys. A 20 (10) (2005) 2131–2156].     

Sensitivity analysis for generalized strongly monotone variational inclusions based on the -resolvent operator technique

Sensitivity analysis for generalized strongly monotone variational inclusions based on the (A,η)-resolvent operator technique is investigated. The results obtained encompass a broad range of results.     

Optimality and invexity in optimization problems in Banach algebras (spaces)

In this paper we introduce into nonsmooth optimization theory in Banach algebras a new class of mathematical programming problems, which generalizes the notion of smooth KT-(p,r)-invexity. In fact, this paper focuses on the optimality conditions for optimization problems in Banach algebras, regarding the generalized KT-(p,r)-invexity notion and Kuhn–Tucker points.     

A hybrid approximation method for equilibrium and fixed point problems for a family of infinitely nonexpansive mappings and a monotone mapping

In this paper, we introduce a new iterative scheme for finding a common element of the set of fixed points of a family of infinitely nonexpansive mappings, the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem and the set of solutions of the variational inequality for α-inverse-strongly monotone mapping in the framework of a Hilbert space. Under suitable conditions, some strong convergence theorems for approximating a common element of the above three sets are obtained. Additionally, we utilize our results to study the optimization problem and find a zero of a maximal monotone operator and a strictly pseudocontractive mapping in a real Hilbert space. Our results improve and extend the results announced by many others.     

Fixed point theorems for nonexpansive mappings and Suzuki-generalized nonexpansive mappings on a Banach lattice

We prove the existence of fixed points for multivalued nonexpansive nonself-mappings on a weakly orthogonal reflexive Banach lattice with uniformly monotone norm. Moreover, for single-valued mappings, we extend Betiuk-Pilarska and Prus’s result [A. Betiuk-Pilarska, S. Prus, Banach lattices which are order uniformly noncreasy, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 342 (2008) 1271–1279] on the weak fixed point property to continuous mappings satisfying condition (C) on a w-weakly orthogonal OUNC Banach lattice.     

Convergence theorems for equilibrium problem, variational inequality problem and countably infinite relatively quasi-nonexpansive mappings

In this paper, we introduce an iterative process which converges strongly to a common element of set of common fixed points of countably infinite family of closed relatively quasi- nonexpansive mappings, the solution set of generalized equilibrium problem and the solution set of the variational inequality problem for a γ-inverse strongly monotone mapping in Banach spaces. Our theorems improve, generalize, unify and extend several results recently announced.
